Join me, the chef at one of Brazil’s top Afro-Brazilian restaurants, as we set off on a culinary journey. My dishes honor the tradition of the orixás—the spirits representing nature's forces in Candomblé, an Afro-Brazilian religion.
• We’ll begin with a tribute to Oshun, the goddess of love and beauty, as sacred rhythms performed by an Ogã help set the tone for a warm, spiritual experience.
• Next, we’ll enjoy a refreshing drink while we learn how Afro-Brazilian cuisine connects tradition, spirituality, and storytelling.
• After our brief history lesson, I’ll guide you as we prepare a dish that harkens back to Candomblé tradition, using ingredients rich in history and symbolism. Along the way, I’ll share personal stories of family, faith, and African heritage.
• Finally, we’ll sit down for a communal meal.
You’ll leave with new recipes, a deeper connection to Afro-Brazilian culture, and plenty of memories to cherish.
