Join our experienced local guides to escape the crowds on a guided eBike tour of St Ives. Starting at our shop in St Ives, we'll get you set up with the right size eBike and helmet and explain how the bikes work. We'll then lead you on a ride exploring the 5 beaches, hidden viewpoints and fascinating history of St Ives. We'll cycle the quiet lanes up to Knill's Monument for a panoramic view of St Ives Bay, the countryside and (on a good day) the South Coast. From here we will descend to a couple of stunning hidden viewpoints with incredible views across Porthminster Beach to St Ives Harbour and in the other direction across Carbis Bay Beach to Lelant Estuary. From here we will return through town past Harbour Beach and Porthgwidden Beach and if time allows ride up to the lookout on the Island. Along the way we'll share some of the weird and wonderful history of St Ives. If we are lucky there is often a good chance of seeing seals in the water, gannets diving and if we are really lucky dolphins. From here we will return to the shop via the 5th and final beach, Porthmeor. It is worth pointing out that I will adjust the route as necessary depending on weather, group interests, time of day and wildlife sightings. We also do longer tours heading out of St Ives to Zennor and ancient sites on the moors. Get in touch for more info.
Geführte Wanderung mit Panoramablick, Minen und Tee & Kuchen
Join me on a guided circular walk taking in the rugged north Cornish coast shoreline, windswept cliffs and iconic tin mining landscape. We’ll climb to St Agnes Beacon for 360-degree panoramic views before walking through a carpet of heather and gorse to stroll a stunning stretch of the South West Coast Path, England’s longest National Trail. Perched on the cliff edge we’ll find Wheal Coates tin mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and popular Poldark filming location. It is also home to a pair of choughs, which we'll keep an eye out for! Having worked up an appetite we’ll re-fuel, enjoying Cornish tea and cake with a view before descending into Chapel Porth cove, one of the most exposed beaches on the North Coast and popular surf spot. The weather and tide can have a dramatic effect on the appearance of the beach and we'll experience a picturesque shingle cove with breaking waves or wide golden sandy beach. Either way we'll spend a little time watching the ocean, exploring the rockpools or strolling along the sand, with toilet stop (if open). There are multiple photo opportunities along the route and I'm more than happy to take pictures of you and your group. Additionally, I'm a self-proclaimed foodie and would love to share my local recommendations with you. There'll be plenty of opportunities to ask me questions and connect with like-minded travellers/locals.
