  • Really beautiful space with incredible Portland views! Lance was a fun and wonderful conversationalist. Would absolutely stay in the treehouse again!

    Courtney2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Tree House exceeded expectations: Lance, our host, extended his wit, implacable taste and a telescope for us to view the Blood Moon eclipse.

    Sean2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was a great host and the experience at the treehouse was like non other in Portland! We had great communication with Lance prior to our arrival and we had no problems checking in. He made us feel welcome right away like we were staying with a friend. We even had a chance to meet Barbie, his sweet 20 year old cat. Of course, the room was as described and the views were better than we expected. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

    Cassie And Gilbert2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place and beautiful views!! This is a lifetime experience one should have in this astonishing and unique house!

    Jerry2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was very welcoming and his home was a marvel to see in person. The view from bed is impossible to beat--Mt St Helens off in the distance and Portland like I'd never seen it. Would recommend!

    Sarah2015-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lance's treehouse is really awesome. Amazing views of Portland. Lance welcomed us with some cold PBRs and we had a great talk. If it wasn't booked for our other nights in town, we would have stayed longer.

    Thorben2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was very accommodating. He greeted me at the door and helped me carry my luggage for me. He gave me a tour of the tree house and it is beautiful. The tree house looks exactly how it does in the pics. I enjoyed my stay and will be back!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.

  • The cottage was such a fun place to stay in bustling Portland. Jack and Cris really paid attention to detail and made sure our stay was a good one. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip back to Portland!

    Thanh2018-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris' cob cottage is both sweet and tasteful. We lacked for nothing.

    Emily2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • A fun place for an overnight stay! Jack and Cris were quick communicators and check-in was easy.

    Anna2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great folks, super hospitable and helpful!

    Fred2018-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a little gem. This cottage is close to Division Street ( a few blocks walking distance). Lots of eateries, shops, and places to have a beer. You can also take the bus into downtown. Great neighborhood. Had a pleasant stay.

    Yolanda2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay at the magical cob cottage! It was even more beautiful than the photos. Check in and communication was very smooth as Jack and Cris sent a detailed message. Thanks for sharing your lovely space!

    Gabriella2017-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything I had imagined it to be and much more. The cottage was extremely Cozy, and comfortable. Both Jack and Cris were very welcoming and showed us their home. It was our first time visiting Portland, and truly loved the experience, can't wait to visit again soon. This is a beautiful they have built and I'm sure you will love your stay as much as we did.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • Loved the space, very cozy & quite comfortable!

    Ami2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • ‘Twas a unique and charming stay! I would certainly stay here again!

    Dylan2018-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a wonderful, wonderful host. She waited up for us till 3 in the morning to help us check in after a very delayed drive up from San Francisco, and was extremely friendly and accommodating during our stay at her studio, which was beautiful, well-kept, and a quintessential Portland space that was cozy and had more amenities than we could ask for. I very much enjoyed chatting with Andrée while she was around (I am a little obsessed with her Shih Tzu, Boo, haha), and she was happy to give us suggestions for places we should visit. Didn't get a chance to visit her consignment store, but I'd love to next time. Would most definitely recommend her to all of my friends visiting Portland!

    Christine2013-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Andrée's place was great! The Garden Studio was so cute and the bed was really comfortable. I also really enjoyed sitting in the backyard garden. Everything comes as described and advertised -- no surprises or set-backs. I didn't have a car while I was in Portland but I really didn't need one. The 8 bus picks you up two blocks away and goes directly into downtown. Or you can get off a couple stops early and be right on Alberta Street. There's also a really good market/deli around the corner where you can buy $2 beers :) And if for some reason that's closed, there are some other eateries/bars just a 10 minute walk from the house. It was really a pleasant stay and the host, Andrée, was very accommodating and welcoming.

    Chrissy2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Andree had great suggestions on what to eat and do. The tiny house itself is cozy, funky in a good way, and private. The bathroom has usage hours and is in the house, but overall a great stay!

    Madison2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, cozy and sleeps 4. And is pretty easy to find. Although the wi-fi was no good!

    Talis2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Andree's place is great, very cozy and affordable. I will definitely look into booking with her on subsequent trips back to the area. There are also a few nice dining and craft beer places to check out well within walking distance.

    Russ2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfection! Andrée is a sweetheart and communicates very well! The space is adorable and comes with little treats like espresso shots and nutrition bars. I had never been to Portland before, but staying here allowed me quick access to the Alberta Street art walk, amazing cafes, and lots of cute shops. The house is in a very charming neighborhood, and I slept soooo well in the loft. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to see the most colorful parts of Portland! It’s a gem, and the price is unbeatable!

With just the right amount of space for two, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • The place was clean and easy to get to, close to the best spots in Portland. Enjoyed using the space and the amenities offered. Seamless experience.

    Anurat2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect Airbnb for our first trip to Portland. Roughly a $12 uber to get downtown and very close to other areas of Portland that are interesting. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the space was everything you could need. The only thing is the shower is on the small side. We didn't cook, but it looked like everything you could need would be there if you wanted to as well. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Lindsay2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a great spot to stay in Portland, close to many places by bus. Best part was fireplace. Hannah was kindly helped me to light the fire. Thank you!

    Yuki2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience. The studio was just as depicted and Jason responded quickly to any questions I had. I found it very easy to access public transportation from the location and it's a beautiful area for walking.

    Dana2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect space in a great neighbourhood, just as the listing suggests! Jason was friendly and accommodating during our stay. I will definitely stay here again :)

    Angela2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • I travel to Portland for work often, and this is the second time I've stayed at Jason's place. It is an awesome spot if you want things to be super accessible but not right on top of you. The neighborhood is gorgeous with enormous street trees and grand old houses. Just a couple blocks from Whole Foods and great places to eat. Stay here. You will enjoy yourself.

    Holly2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great space and full of light - very true to the pictures! Jason had fresh flowers waiting for us and the place was stocked with everything we needed for or stay. Fireplace in the room was a great bonus and even though it wasn't very chilly, we used the fireplace a couple of nights just because we could! Irvington is a great neighborhood. Very quiet and safe tree-lined street. We had a rental car, so it was very easy to get into town and also head out to some national parks.

    Molly2015-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent accommodation in a quiet area of Portland. It was convenient to my meetings at the convention center via Bus Route 8, which stopped just a block away from both the accommodation and the convention center. It is also convenient to several shopping and dining areas of Portland which gives an excellent slice of life in this fantastic city. If/when I'm back in Portland, I'll be looking this site up to see if it is available. Highly recommend.

Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.

    Guenter2015-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Sue's clean and cozy cottage was a home away from home! Upon my arrival I was delighted to note the beautifully lush neighborhood. During my stay I was able to walk to the nearby Laurelhurst Park-- a perfect place to enjoy a pie picnic or a good book from Powell's near the lake. Located next to several local businesses such as The Pie Spot and Blue Star Donuts and just a short ride away from Downtown, Bob and Sue's cottage was the perfect choice for a little Portland getaway (:

    Mela2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • I’m convinced there are no better travel accommodations than AirBNB. We stayed in Sue and Bob’s garden apartment on our first trip to Portland and were thrilled with the decision. The charming space had all the amenities we needed, including homemade chocolate muffins waiting for us on our arrival. It was the perfect home away from home, where we could cook breakfast each morning in the well-appointed kitchen and settle into the heavenly bed after long days of sightseeing each night. Sue and Bob were super friendly and quick to make great recommendations for sure-win destinations to visit. They even offered their bikes, incase we wanted to ride around in true Portland style. The neighborhood is beautiful and convenient to trendy restaurants (Tabor Tavern, Por Que No? Taqueria, Stammtisch), shopping (Powell’s Bookstore, Presents of Mind, Simply Vintage Boutique) and nightlife spots (Baerlic Brewery, Hale Pele, Landmark Saloon); Downtown Portland; and the interstate for trips out to the Columbia River Gorge, wine country or the Pacific Coast (Volcano Lands Tour). If we’re ever back in the Rose City, we would love to stay at here again!

    Katherine2014-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place just as described. Hosts were very pleasant and attentive. Extra points for Snowball, the cat.

    Lorraine2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend this property! It is an adorable apartment, decorated beautifully. We felt like we were in a doll house for adults. It is easily walkable to shopping and restaurants.

    Colleen2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay! This was our first Airbnb experience and I couldn't have possibly asked for anything better. The place was picturesque, and the bed was so wonderful I almost never wanted to leave. The kitchen was adorable, the back patio fantastic, and we had a lovely local bottle of red wine to welcome us. We met Bob & Sue briefly, but it was an absolute pleasure. They also had this incredibly sweet white kitty who would stroll through the garden occasionally. The location was fantastic, and the bedroom had a bounty of maps, helpful tips, Portland magazines and brochures aplenty. Laurelhurst was absolutely wonderful, and this was a fantastic trip. I only wish we could have stayed longer!!!

    Izzy2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very welcomed by our hosts. The place was way beyond our expectations. The decor was absolutely charming, so many extras were provided, and the outside was just beautiful. The washer/dryer was welcomed, as were all the reading materials about the area. As far as we are concerned, this was the most charming and well supplied place we stayed in our entire two weeks on the road.

    Caren2015-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Sue & Bob's charming urban cottage. For us, it was the best of both worlds- sure, we explored the great Portland food culture & took in the beautiful city, but we also played scrabble in B & S's vintage 1950s kitchen while drinking Oregon Pinot as if we were the only people for miles. There are some places you always remember, for us Bob & Sues's magical cottage is one of them.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block or two of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • I cannot express how great a stay I had at Laurel and Brian's wonderful loft space. A friend, Hailey, and I booked on relatively short notice and when we arrived we greeted by Laurel, who walked us through the house--the air conditioner, the blinds and the rest of the accommodations. Hailey and I loved the space. It is clean, new, and well put together. The bathroom has a nice sink and shower head. On the first floor there is a fold-out couch if needed and upstairs there is an incredibly soft and comfortable bed. It is a split level. Downstairs there is a couch and spacious kitchen area and upstairs there is the bed and dresser. On the first floor there is also a washer and dryer, speaker with aux input for listening, guides of Portland, and complementary coffee with a french press. I could not have asked for more. On top of all this, Laurel and Brian were very nice and accommodating. Hailey and I had a truly wonderful time exploring Portland and staying in this beautiful little home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would stay here again if I got the chance!!

    Matthew2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-day stay at Laurel and Brian's place. It was immaculately clean with an inspiring contemporary aesthetic, very light and bright with treetop views. Both hosts are highly communicative and responsive--we genuinely felt our comfort was a priority for them. The guest house provides complete privacy from the host's house although it was nice to be able to say hello occasionally. The neighborhood was fun to explore on foot with lots of amenities to offer. Public transportation is available, although we had a relative's car available much of the time when we need to see other areas of Portland. I would be most happy to return here someday!

    Francine2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel & Brian's place is wonderful. Very clean & comfortable! The pictures don't quite do it justice. They are quick to respond and all directions were clear and straightforward. They went above and beyond to make sure us and our baby we're comfortable. The neighbourhood has lots of fun places to eat and the recommendations they provided were great! We would definitely stay here again next time we travel to Portland!

    Amanda2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This air bnb was great! Laurel and brain checked a few times to make sure we didn't need anything! They were wonderful hosts and the house was beautiful and in a wonderful location!

  • Laurel and Brian delivered a nice, clean, well appointed and rather hip guest house, it was very much enjoyed. Suggest trying the Fern restaurant just around the corner for breakfast or lunch.

  • I really can’t say enough about Laurel and Brian and their amazing place. Great neighborhood. Quiet, clean, comfortable house. Parking isn’t too big an issue. Laurel and Brian are great hosts—completely available and hospitable but not up in your business. The best AirBnB experience we’ve ever had.

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • Gute Unterkunft: hilfsbereiter Vermieter, interessante Umgebung, schönes Restaurant und tolles Café vor der Haustür, Fahrradleihmöglichkeit - alles bestens.

  • Timothy definitely brought Bali to Portland for us. I really really enjoyed my stay at Tim's place because it was located near everything that I needed. I got the king sized bedroom and it was big and cozy enough for us. The restroom and shower room were located across from our bedroom so it got noisy at some point but it wasn't too bad. I will definitely come back here next time with a group of friends so we can all stay together.

    Valerie2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We booked Tim's place so we could be close to the Moda Center for a game. The room was very cozy, and the bed was huge and honestly more comfy than most beds I have slept on. It's very central to lots of shopping, food, and breweries in NEPO. Very pet friendly!

  • Nice place but this is more like a hotel than a shared house. the bathroom and restroom are commom with the other guests.

    Valentine2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. Room is pretty and clean. He let us drop our luggage before checkin which was very helpful for foreign travelers like us. Room has own pretty sink, so no need to go to the shared bath room for brush my teeth. Neighborhood bakery cafe was nice to grab breakfast.Biscuit butter w/ cranberry jam was yum! We walked to the N Williams area and we really liked it. We recommend to stay his nice place!

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our newly-remodeled, cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the greyest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; It's quite small, so if you're needing more of a "hangout spot" this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • We can't say enough about this fantastic Airbnb. It is exactly as pictured - wonderfully clean, beautifully decorated. Located within walking distance of so many yummy places to eat! Melissa was always attentive and quick to respond to requests yet gave us all of the privacy we desired. This was the perfect little getaway for our wedding anniversary and we look forward to the next time we can stay in her studio! Melissa - thank you for taking so much time and care into placing all of the finishing touches and perfect little "extras" that create such a warm and welcoming environment for your guests.

  • Staying with this wonderful family in their very cute private room was just what we needed. Quiet, lovely, tranquil. Our hosts did everything to make us feel welcome while giving us the space we desired. Brochures of coffee places, eateries and dessert suggestions were left on the counter and we enjoyed many of these. We took pix of our week and showed the cute room to our family. They all want to go visit!! We had everything we needed. We give our hosts and our accommodations an A++. The location to everything was perfect!

    Steve2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were already so excited to visit Portland and staying in Melissa's lovely detached studio just made our trip even better. There are so many thoughtful details and it was impeccably decorated and spotless. Great location too with lots of restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend!

  • This was our favorite Airbnb experience. (Exceeded our expectations!) Great location, great amenities, every last detail was thought-through. We would definitely stay here again without a doubt.

  • The lovely little cottage in Melissa’s pretty backyard is such a wonderful place for any visitors to Portland who want to be in a charming part of Portland but near to the humming heart of it. Every aspect of comfort has been taken care of and any queries are swiftly dealt with. We hope to return to Portland and to this little haven in a heartbeat.

    Bee2018-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Brian were great hosts and the studio is lovely. The decor is bright and cheerful, and is beautifully accommodated with everything one could think of. The home is in a charming area of the city within walking distance to great dining and entertainment.

  • This studio is spacious and very comfortable. I was only able to stay for a short amount of time, but one could comfortably stay there for an extended amount of time. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, but you are very close (short walking distance) to many great restaurants and bars.

    Brad2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Brian's Airbnb is the cleanest, brightest, most well-decorated place we've ever stayed - so much so that we didn't want to leave! As hosts, they were great: they made themselves available to us but didn't intrude when we were present. We can't wait to come back to Portland and stay here again!

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.

    Andreas2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is lovely and Anna was very helpful explaining some details of the place. She also took time to tell us about the neighborhood and what streets are nice to walk on. It's a great area, old homes and trees. We felt very safe walking at night. She's put together a great binder about area eating and drinking and has stocked the apartment with lots of books, pamphlets and maps too. We did though have to improvise a nightlight for the bathroom since the outlet in there is on a timer. Fortunately my husband travels with everything including an extension cord. Nice spot all in all!

    Emily2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's place is beautiful. The neighborhood also is lovely, and Anna gave us several excellent recommendations for drinks and dinner in walking distance. We had a great stay!

    Laurie2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Anna & Jeremy's place is awesome! Places like these make me wonder why anyone would ever pay for a hotel room when they could save some $$ and get even better accommodations in an awesome neighborhood. The studio was the perfect combination of sleek and cozy and was walking distance to some great haunts. Follow their recommendations and you won't regret it!

Light-filled, private 2 story apartment, parking in the driveway, two major bus lines, walking distance to restaurants/bars, shopping & grocery. Separate office area, high-speed internet, great for business travel.
A well-stocked gourmet kitchen, lots of windows to let light in (blackout shade in bedroom to help you sleep!), new comfy pullout sofa, full size washer & dryer, courtyard space outside to chill out, park in the driveway right next to the apartment
The Albert Arts neighborhood has award-winning restaurants, bars and shopping all within walking distance. The apartment is on a major bus line that can get you where you need to go quickly.
  • Great space! Very clean and stylish, and wasn’t lacking any amenities that you’d expect. The sheets were also incredibly soft and comfortable! Parking right in the drive way made it convenient when staying in the city and street parking is often limited. Tommy was very quick at responding with any questions! Overall great time! So close to lots of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops!

    Ana2018-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Perfect for two couples and both beds are more than sufficient - one is a foldout (but a nice one) and the other in the bedroom is a double (close to a queen). The upstairs space is easily manipulated for a variety of activities. The outside we didn’t use because of wet weather. Overall we’d stay here again as we got great value for what we paid - you should too!

    Kyle2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tommy's place in Portland will linger in our memories as one of our favorite airbnb stays. It was immaculate, well-appointed, and welcoming with the many thoughtful touches throughout the apartment. All of the appliances, including the washer/dryer, were of top quality. We cooked a lovely meal one evening and had everything we needed, including cloth napkins and placemats! The surrounding neighborhood was attractive and safe. Our accommodations were private with the bonus of off-street parking. We could have easily stayed several more days in complete comfort. One thing to note is that it is on a heavily trafficked street so a bit of road noise is present, but we grew accustomed to it and it was not a problem.

    Carolyn2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space. Own parking spot and easy drive from downtown Portland. Highly recommend.

    Xavier2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down my favorite airbnb ive ever stayed at. Tommy was very helpful and he also suggested places for us to check out. His home is so cozy and clean, just how i like it. I also liked how there was a spot for parking. He was also very accommodating with whatever we needed especially with any amenities that we needed. Overall it is a 5 star rating for me!

    Kathy2017-11-13T00:00:00Z

The pull out couch was the comfiest I have ever slept on! Very cosy and in a fun neighborhood. We would definitely stay again.

Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away. The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience! There is also ample free street parking directly outside the house. Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs. Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes. Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
  • Cara's studio is brand spanking new! She has thought of everything one can possibly need to make a stay comfortable, even up to a supply of disposable earplugs by the nightstand. (We didn't need them though.) Really appreciated the portable AC unit as the temperature was in the high 80's. The street itself is quiet and safe with a great pizza joint a couple of blocks away that opens till midnight!

    Gerri2013-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Cozy Portland Studio in May, and couldn't have loved it more. The apartment itself is very well kept, clean, and private. It is across the street from a school, but even on mornings that I woke up when school would be starting, I never heard ANY noise from outside. Cara helped us to feel welcome with a free bottle of wine and coffee, and those were very much appreciated!! The location of this apartment is perfect. There are tons of great coffee shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance, and we spent a lot of time just wandering the nearby neighborhoods. It is also close enough to walk downtown easily in about 30-40 minutes (which was fine for us as we love to walk). There is a bus close by but we didn't use it. This is a great spot to get an authentic feel of Portland without having to stay in a super pricey hotel or within the touristy district of downtown. If you're looking for a quiet, private apartment in the perfect location to enjoy all that Portland has to offer, this is it! I would stay here again in a heartbeat if we return to the area.

    Stephanie2015-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Cara's studio apartment was wonderful! When we arrived, there was wine awaiting us. The bed was incredibly comfortable (I need to find out where I can buy those pillows!) and the place was immaculately clean. I would recommend Cara's studio to anyone visiting Portland, and I would definitely stay here again!

    Kim2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! The location is great, and the studio apartment is lovely. Well worth it! :)

  • This place was PERFECT! One of the best AirBnB experiences we've had. The place is exactly as pictured, in an excellent neighbourhood close to downtown, but in a calmer, more relaxed area. It was clean and very welcoming, with lots of information as well as a nice gift provided by the hosts. The hosts were awesome- respectful but very helpful. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.

  • We loved our stay in Portland at Brad and Becca's amazing urban tree house! It was wonderful to have our own floor of the place and we truly enjoyed getting to know the hosts a bit better. : ) Biscuit is one of my new favorite kitties and we'd love to come back if we're ever in the Portland area again!

  • My girlfriend and I had a great stay with Brad and Becca. They have a beautiful home with a great layout for guests. It is extremely close to public transportation in a nice area. They were the perfect host. We would stay here again,

    Chris2013-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca have a beautiful home, and are lovely, low-key hosts. The place was super clean and organized, and arrival and departure were very easy. The bedroom was quite comfortable. The location was perfect -- very convenient for visiting my daughter at nearby Reed College, an easy drive to everywhere else I wanted to go, and right down the street from Trader Joe's! Found an excellent coffee place just 1.5 blocks away, and a sweet little yoga studio around the corner. I would say the only drawback is that the house plan is very open, so even though I had my own bedroom and bathroom on a separate floor, because it's the entry floor and it's open to the second floor kitchen/LR, there's not a lot of privacy. That may or may not be a problem, depending on the guest. This was my first airbnb stay, and I'd say it was a success!

    Amy2013-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca (and their adorable dog!) welcomed us into their home with open arms. While our stay was very brief, we very much appreciated the comfortable, clean and convenient accommodations. Thank you for opening up your home to us, Brad and Becca!

This is a large master suite with accommodations for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay: a Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, a refrigerator, a microwave, dishes, knives, and silverware. The room also has cable TV, Queen size bed, foldout futon sofa, airbed in closet, sitting area & desk. "...the bathroom was unexpectedly awesome with two sinks, and such a large shower with dual heads." Heating and air conditioning is a mini-split which keeps the temperature comfortable and quiet.
Eliot neighborhood is full of popular dining establishments, coffee shops, music venues, parks, and the Matt Dishman community center with in-door swimming pool. This is a great close-in Portland community with access to everything you need. Several places for live music include the Secret Society, White Eagle Saloon, Wonder Ballroom and, of course, the Rose Garden Moda Center.

  • Fantastic alternative to a hotel. I always like to stay in quiet neighborhoods and Jere's spot fits that bill. But I was truly surprised to find myself in a suite with a private entry with a gorgeously appointed room, bathroom and closet. It was significantly quieter, larger and nicer than a room in hotel that costs 3 times as much. What a bargain!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our nine-day stay in Portland at the Haven. The space is roomy, cheerful and beautifully designed. We loved having the private entrance and the porch. There are neighborhood restaurants and markets in walking distance. Two bus lines are within two blocks walk and connect well with Portland's excellent transportation system such as the trams. Jere was an excellent host and we enthusiastically recommend this Haven.

  • The house was beautiful and in a wonderful neighborhood. It was fun to get to explore another part of town. Jere put a lot of thought and care into every detail of the space and it felt very much like home. It wasn't hard to get downtown and the public transportation was very reliable. Jere's recommendations for bars and restaurants proved to be spot-on and we had an amazing time. We'll be back for sure!! Jere is an excellent host - would recommend to anyone.

  • Amazing little gem in Portland that is basically in the center of town, downtown is just a short bus ride away and so was the airport. Public transportation is amazing in this city make sure to utilize it! Lots of places nearby as well bars, outlets and restaurants all within walking distance. Our host was very accommodating and gave us a lot of helpful hints, thanks again for hosting us Jere!

  • Wonderful space, especially the bathroom!

    Lauren2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jere deserves every bit of praise that she has received in reviews on this site. My flight arrived late and because Jere knew that I had dinner plans that I was running behind for she offered to give me a ride into downtown. The epitome of a gracious host. The location is easy to get to from the airport and is within walking distance of several bus lines. The room itself was way more beautiful than I expected- HUGE bathroom and closet made getting ready for all of our Portland adventures a breeze. Jere thought of everything a traveler could want- Keurig coffee maker- plates/silverware/ample places to charge a phone/wifi/hairdryer/umbrella etc etc etc. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Anna2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Jere's place was amazing. The room is big and has a large shower and closet area. The room has its own bathroom and private entrance, making it very easy to come and go. We didn't have a car when we were staying here but the place is minutes away from public transportation that got us into downtown within 15-20 minutes. Our favorite places close by were the TeSoAria winery, where the food was good and the owner unbelievably friendly, and Tasty 'n Sons, which had amazing food. We would definitely stay here again and appreciated the information Jere provided about Portland. Also, she picked us up from the Max station when we first arrived. We appreciated it!

Stay in this stunning craftsman cottage that is brand new and where almost every detail was thoughtfully designed and uniquely handcrafted. The cottage is tucked away on the other side of the block from my home so you’ll have your own private entrance/driveway. Max light rail is 10 minutes away on foot, and you can walk to the heart of Mississippi in under 25. The unit also features many amenities, including high-speed Internet connection; flat screen TV; and a well-appointed kitchenette.
I love this space and hope you will too. It’s “rustic-industrial,” with 15-foot vaulted ceilings, black iron edison lighting, live-edge Doug Fir countertop, barn-style closet doors, and walls clad with reclaimed wood. It is featured on the cover of "Backdoor Revolution," a book about the backyard cottage movement that started here in Portland! The unit is located on the other side of the block from my home so you’ll have your own entrance. You’ll even have your own private driveway. The cottage also hosts a small bistro sitting area outside the front door where you can sip some locally-roasted coffee or enjoy a glass of Oregon Pinot. Hop on a Max train headed downtown in just 10 minutes, or walk to the heart of trending Mississippi in under 25. If you have a car, the entrance to I-5 is just a few blocks down the street. Given its cozy size, the place is designed for a couple, but the chaise sectional sofa does fold out into a queen sleeper. In addition, you’ll find high-speed Internet connection; flat screen TV (on a wall mount pivot arm) with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon; card games and Portland travel books galore; well-appointed kitchenette with double burner cooktop, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee/tea/condiments, and loads of other kitchen amenities; cuddly blankets, towels, and pillows; basic toiletries and a hair dryer; as well as handmade slippers in an assortment of sizes. The unit is well-insulated; it also has window AC! If you need to do laundry, just ask and I’ll happily arrange for you to use the washer/dryer in my home.
  • This place was perfect! It is just as cozy as the photos make it look (if not more). The location was ideal and it made our trip to Portland that much more special. Place was spotless, and Carissa even gave us some welcome beers and was helpful when I had a question that I should have been able to figure out on my home. Great place to stay!

  • By far the nicest AirBnb I have ever stayed in! I wish I could live there! The space is clean, stylish, and filled with thoughtful touches. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and a quick Lyft ride to some hip parts of town. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to come again!

    Andrea2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Can definitely recommend this stylish cottage! It is equipped with everything you might need, great location, clean, stylefully decorated. We enjoyed seeing how the cottage was made in the online slideshow (link was provided in the welcome book).

  • Carissa place is ADORABLE. It’s the cutest house on the street and so very cozy. We had everything we needed and the location was prime (especially because we rented a car), everything is so close together but we were away from too much bustle of the city . They did a killer job on the house to make it darling. The wood ceiling details and beams were gorgeous. Be sure to turn the fan on in the bathroom to save the pretty wood ceiling! Hospitality was awesome, though we never saw Carissa. But she was readily available if we had any needs! Definitely stay here!!

    Nicole2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED staying here! Highly recommend. Carissa is a great host!

    Lorna2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Carrisa’s Cottage was cozy, clean, and beautifully decorated. My husband and I loved how convenient it was to everything. We can’t wait to come visit Portland again!

    Michele2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stay here! Carissa's place is amazing. Located in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful houses lining the streets. The bed is super comfortable and the house looks like someone on HGTV decorated it. Great location with easy access to all the sights in Portland. Hopefully next time I'm back in Portland it will be available!

    Alex2018-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our favorite Airbnb yet! Such a cute space with everything you need. I would highly recommend staying at Carissa's if you find yourself in Portland!

The bunk room has been created as a nod to the hotel's creation as a safe place for sailors. You'll find the same thing in this space with 18' ceilings- cozy, strong, and comfortable triple bunk beds.
At The Society Hotel, we believe in making every traveler feel authentically connected to our community so they are ready to enjoy our beautiful city from day one. All of our rooms come with plush beds, 10-foot windows, high speed wifi, and a hospitality experience unlike any other.
Old Town is Portland's oldest neighborhood - the original epicenter of Portland, Oregon. It has a colorful history and an equally colorful present! We are the epicenter of Portland's street fashion scene, the nightlife district, as well as a social services haven for those most in need. So expect an eclectic mix from Old Town, and hopefully love it as much as we do!

  • My stay with The Society Hotel was exactly what I expected. Value was tremendous, especially considering the convenience of the location. Facilities were clean, cafe/bar in lobby was excellent and rooftop views were beautiful. This is the hotel where I would want to stay during my subsequent trips to the area.

    Kevin2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • In a great location. I came from the airport on the train and only walked a couple blocks. Forgot a book so could easily walk to Powells bookstore which is open until 11. Sizzle Pie was a great recommendation. And then VooDoo donuts a couple blocks in the morning. Walked 8 minutes to bus station. Such a great location! Never slept in a bunk house before. It was exceptionally clean and the host so welcoming. Loved it!

    Jean2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Felt very comfortable here. The bunk area was very clean and well kept. The quality and condition of the finished surfaces and architecture impressed me for how affordable my stay was. Same goes for the restrooms.

  • Our group stayed at Paul's Funky Pad over night when in Portland to see The Lion King, and it was great (the show AND the pad)! I was with my daughter, son and my daughter's boyfriend (all young adults), and the space was just right for us- we added our 4th just before our trip, and Paul was so welcoming and accommodating. He had an extra bed ready which fit perfectly into the space. There's plenty of room to relax, watch a movie and store overnight bags, and the beds are situated so there's a little privacy. Paul was a great host- very responsive when I needed info, personable, knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to enjoy making our stay a good one. All amenities were there as described, and the location was convenient to downtown. I was pretty confident it would be a good stay based on all the reviews, and it was!

    Lisa2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our little loft at Paul & Carolyn's house. It had everything we needed and served as a perfectly warm and quiet respite from a day of touring NE Portland. We'll definitely look them up again next time we are in the area.

    Dave2013-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • We were delighted to find the Funky Pad! Paul is a delightful and friendly host who is helpful in everyday. The cute Funky Pad is accurately described and pictured on the site. Beds were extra comfortable and we enjoyed the location and ease of getting around Portland. Thanks Paul!

  • Paul was an amazing host. Very accommodating for us even with a late arrival ! The room was cozy and wonderful. Definitely would go back if I am in the area again.

  • Everything was great! My friend and I felt so comfortable and welcome. Paul was very helpful with anything we needed. The place is very clean and organized. It's in a nice neighborhood that isn't far from lots of great places to shop and eat. This was my first Airbnb experience and it was a darn good one! I would recommend this place to anyone. Oh, and the beds were sooo comfortable!

    Ashley2014-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place was spacious, clean and comfortable. He was hospitable upon check-in, and readily available when I had any questions. The suite had two comfortable beds, an easy to use small fridge/microwave area, a nice hot shower, and a large TV with many channels if you're so inclined to use it. The neighborhood was safe, quiet and accessible. I would happily stay here again, and highly recommend it.

  • A great private basement apartment! Stylish with plenty of light. The bed is very comfortable. The extra towels were appreciated after long days spent hiking the River Gorge area. Using our rental car for area neighborhoods and Uber for downtown trips was super easy.

  • Robert was great! He was so kind and helped us with anything and everything!

    Bridgitte2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Robert’s place is super cute, modern, clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed and more. He’s space is well maintained inside and out. Secure entrance and neighborhood. It was quiet during our stay. We used Uber to make our way into the the main part of the city. Just 10 mins away and reasonably priced. We didn’t get a chance to meet Robert but this allowed for some privacy and he was very communicative responding to our texts within a reasonable amount of time. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Portland. Highly recommend!

    Erica2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rob’s place is clean, modern, quiet and very comfortable. We had a great stay at the suite! Highly recommend!

    Andy2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I really loved Robert's place. His communication was excellent. He provided detailed instructions for checking in/out and house rules that were easy to follow. The space was spotless and stylish. The unit had great lighting and dimmer switches for ambience. The full kitchen was well-equipped and updated. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets soft with big fluffy pillows. It smelled nice. It's in a quintessential Portland neighborhood where all the homes have character. I felt safe walking around. There was parking always available in front of the home. The location was perfect for me as I had events to attend in Sellwood and Vancouver. It was conveniently located to everything, easy to find, close to the interstate. I feel it was an excellent value. I was really pleased with this find! 10/10 highly recommend. I'm looking forward to my next trip.

  • Robert was such an accommodating host and responded to any questions or concerns I had very quickly. Loved his beautiful home, it was private and honey. I would love to stay here again when I come back to Portland!

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate the needs of your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was a crooked shed with broken windows, no electricity, water or heat and was filled with trash. Todji improved it and then purchased the property in 2004 when banks were giving loans to anybody, including self-employed emerging artists. Todji rented rooms to other artists while restoring the old house for fifteen years, while building a career as a fine art sculptor. During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. Look at the outside walls to see the twist in the structure! TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from areas around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day. We employ local artists to do the cleaning and maintenance work at The Magic Barn and Magic House. Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. Multnomah Falls /Franklin Ridge Loop Eagle Creek Angels Rest Bridal Veil Falls Triple Falls Wahkeena Falls Groceries, Pharmacy and Shopping: New Seasons- Local Health Food Store (40th and Hawthorne) Fred Meyers- Local Department/Grocery store (Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne) Rite Aid Pharmacy- Drugstore/pharmacy (Cesar Chavez and Division) Powell’s Books- A smaller version of Portland’s famous Bookstore (37th and Hawthorne) Gold Door- Wonderful Imports from around the world (37th and Hawthorne) Enjoy!
  • Owners super understanding and nice, they provided history of the space and places to go check out in the area. This barn was the most stunning thing I have ever seen. I wanted to move in permanently ahaha and will for sure be basing my future house around this design and visiting again soon.

    Shelby2017-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We definitely enjoyed our stay in the Magic Barn. It's a beautiful space that is set up to perfectly meet your needs for short stays or something longer. Very cute. Todji and Gisele were super friendly and welcoming, and the backyard is quaint. Busy Cesar Chavez Blvd. provides some traffic noise, but nothing major. The 7:30am intense construction noise from next door was a bit of a bummer, but probably won't last too much longer. Very walkable location.

  • Everything was great, worked out perfect for my short trip back to Portland to spend time with family and friends. Had everything I needed and felt like if anything had been lacking I would have been able to reach out without a problem. Would stay again!

    Kirstie2014-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Adam was super-friendly and welcoming and the place was beautiful. There was a bit going on in the house while we were there, because of a roommate swap, but I'm sure that's unusual! Everyone was very kind, and the location was killer. Definitely recommend if you're looking for an inexpensive option to stay while visiting Portland.

  • A lovely room in a lovely house, which proved to be the perfect base for our stay in Portland! It is a matter of seconds away from N Mississippi Avenue, a street lined with shops, restaurants and bars which proved to be a nice place to wander to for a drink or bite to eat after busy day exploring the city and surrounding area. Downtown is a quick drive/taxi ride away, and there is public transport in the city too. The room/house was as described and how it appears in the pictures, clear instructions were given for check in well in advance and communication was quick and easy. Would highly recommended - would stay there again if I return to Portland.

  • We had a nice time staying with Adam and Arthur. Their house is very close to many bars, restaurants and shops. They are located close to downtown as well which makes getting down there a breeze. Their house is hip and trendy and very clean. Adam and Arthur were very open and friendly and we enjoyed our chats with them. Highly recommend staying with these cool guys!

  • My girlfriend and I enjoyed everything about our stay!

  • This place is in a great location, right next to the Alberta arts district which was great to walk around and had some great food! The place was so cute and made or stay very special!

  • This airbnb was beyond lovely! There was quick communication with Melissa and the space was amazing for our quick one night in Portland. Very easy to find and close to many great coffee shops!

  • Cozy place!

    Agnes2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Super adorable and comfortable studio that had everything you could ask for. My stay was very brief but I would definitely look for availability when I go back to Portland. The location made my early departure at the airport easy. The communication was very clear. Great overall stay.

  • Melissa's place is absolutely lovely! In a wonderful neighborhood, very walkable to great restaurants + shops. Easy to access from the airport and bus lines run on the next block! Modern decor, clean, coffee, tea, and clean kitchen ware. I wish my apartment was this cute! Melissa was very helpful and had a lot of great ideas for local places to check out. Highly recommend. Looking forward to returning to Portland again soon!

    Kristina2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • So decorative room! Her hospitality is great!Excellent experience.I wish I could stay longer.

    圭一郎2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The room was as advertised. Very cozy, nicely decorated, very comfortable. Everything in the unit was of high quality. There was a problem with the toilet and despite being out of town themselves, Melissa and her husband responded immediately and made arrangements to get it working again. And while it wasn’t 100% repaired, it was functional for the rest of my stay. They generously gave a refund for one night because of the inconvenience it caused me. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.

    Mario2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Portland Tiny House was a fantastic tiny house, exactly like the photos on Instagram @portlandtinyhouse ! Genevieve & Duston were easy to communicate with via email. Seemed extraordinarily friendly and accommodating. The Tiny House was quiet, clean and stocked with all the essentials for a cozy stay. The organic/natural toiletries, dish soap, candles, etc. were a real value-add to this place. There were even trays of ice in the freezer (necessity for making a late night cocktail)! We had no issues with finding the house via GPS. Street parking was easy-peasy. No problems finding a spot close to the house. As for the location of things to do... We love our coffee and cocktail bars and low and behold, Extracto Coffeehouse and Expatriate Cocktail Lounge are both a block away! The Alberta Arts District (home of my fav vegan bakery Back to Eden and Barista coffee shop) is an easy 15-minute walk from Portland Tiny House too. I had a super positive experience at Genevieve and Duston's Tiny House, I'd recommend it to anyone passing through PDX. PS. The chickens were a chatty, friendly bunch whenever we went over to say "hello".

    Billie Jane2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We loved every single aspect of this place! Genevieve and Dustin were very thoughtful hosts! Every detail of the tiny house was thought out! Great recommendations and loved the chicken coop and fresh eggs! Cannot say enough great reviews about this place!

  • We had a wonderful time staying at the tiny house. It's in a nice quiet area and we felt right at home. The house is very well designed. Street parking is very easy and there is a cute little coffee shop just down the alley from the house. There was central heating in the house which was wonderful since we were there in December. The hosts were easy to reach and quick to respond. The house was centrally located to a lot of fun stuff to do in Portland. I would definitely recommend this place!

  • My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the tiny house! Very comfortable, great design, and is everything you need.

    Brielle2015-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the tiny house! My fiancé and I spent 2 nights there and it was just perfect... well-equipped with everything we needed, cozy and comfortable, and super clean. Duston and Genevieve were gracious hosts, and although we didn't get to meet them in person they left us a packet of great suggestions on activities, dining, etc that was very helpful! The location of the tiny house is in a gorgeous and very safe neighborhood, close to PDX and within walking distance to a number of restaurants and shops. We would absolutely recommend this little spot to anyone staying in Portland, and we will definitely be back!

  • Anastasia’s place was great! Right in he heart of the NW district and ABC streets with restaurants and bars steps away. Easy walk/uber to the pearl district and the water front. Walking distance to Japanese Tea Garden (although up hill so might want to uber!). She communicated very well and the home was very clean. Extra pillows and some shampoo! Overall great stay!

  • This is an awesome location! Walking distance to great restaurants, wine tasting rooms and coffee shops. Also walking distance to downtown. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to Portland. The space was clean and very stylish! One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in!

    Elizabeth2018-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful – very spacious – bachelor suite, with all the amenities you need, and in the heart of one of Portland’s historic districts! The neighbhourhood was a treat to walk around in — beautiful homes, artisan shops and great restaurants. You’re also a stone’s throw from Blue Star donuts and Salt and Straw icecream parlour (both must eats)! The suite is also within walking distance to downtown, and is only a few minutes walk to transit (street car or bus). Anastasia was a great host – she was there to greet us when we arrived, and was available to answer any questions we had throughout our stay. She had also laid out fresh roses on the table for our arrival! We would definitely recommend and would stay there again!

    William & Kerry2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a comfy stay in an amazing neighbourhood in Portland, this is the place. The studio is exactly as described and really relaxing. NW Portland is quite an upmarket 'hood and there are tonnes of great bars, cafes, restaurants and shops just steps from the door. Plus, there's a bagel place at the bottom of the stairs and a Blue Star donuts just around the corner, so there's breakfast sorted. You can also easily walk to the Pearl District and Downtown, although the street car is also on the corner. My plane arrived quite early in the morning, but Anastasia let me stash my bags then sent me a message as soon as the apartment was ready to go. If you're staying in Portland for a few days, this is a great place to use as a base.

    Carrie2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was perfect for our quick trip and I would recommend it to anyone! We were steps away from many wonderful places to eat and shop! We also didn't really notice much noise from outside even though it was a busy area. The host responded to questions right away and was helpful to us not being familiar with the area. We loved our stay and would definitely come back again if we make another trip out that way!

Get comfortable in your own home while visiting northeast Portland's charming Woodlawn neighborhood. The guesthouse is brand new and boasts quality construction, craftsmanship, and attention to detail with a modern aesthetic.
The exposed wood beams and open floor plan create a cozy, light-filled atmosphere. A clean, crisp, well-equipped kitchen, a fresh bathroom, and your own queen-sized bedroom area with relaxing sitting area (and an upstairs loft with double-bed) will more than cover your lodging needs. You'll have your own covered front porch and courtyard area to enjoy the fresh air.
Woodlawn, aka the Dekum Triangle, is a cozy residential neighborhood with a small commercial district. There is a trendy bar (Tough Luck), Mexican restaurant (Tamale Boy), and fizzy winery (Hi-Wheel) two blocks away. A six block walk will bring you to the heart of the triangle, with one of Portland's best microbreweries (Breakside), and a number of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. If you're looking for a more upbeat scene, Alberta Street (with destination spots like Salt & Straw, Pine State Biscuit, and Proud Mary) is a mile away, with the beautiful Alberta Park along the way. The airport is conveniently 15 minutes away, as is downtown.
  • Nick's place is well located, perfectly set up and spotlessly clean. l would highly recommend it.

  • I have to say, it was a great experience. Thank you Nick! I accidentally checked out a day early and I was freaking out a bit. I asked Nick and checked for availability to stay an extra night and luckily I was able too! The house is beautiful. Very clean and has everything you need! It’s close to a lot of restaurants, bars, shops and freeways. Not a far drive to downtown Portland at all! I will definitely be visiting and staying here again! I recommend staying here for your visit!

  • Our favorite Airbnb so far! The keypad on the door is so convenient and everything is decorated and finished so cute and modern. The sleeping loft was perfect for the kids- they learned to be very cautious going up and down the ladder. We felt very comfortable here and loved the central location.

    Jaime2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house was extremely clean and had the essentials and then some. The beer and popcorn were great additions. Nick greeted us and was helpful with recommendations. I would definitely stay here again.

Apartment connected to our home with private entrance. Location could not get better! We are right off of NW 23rd St! Walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars, shopping, forest park, rose garden, street car, pearl district, slab town.
This space is awesome. Our listing is unique in that the apartment is solely utilized for tenants, we do not live in the space. You will have your own private entrance at the back of our house with your own key to be used during your stay. You will feel extremely safe as there are two gates with keypads you must go through before you get to the apartment entrance. The unit sleeps 3-4. There is a futon, two air mattresses (one is twin size and the other is a double size) in addition to a comfy queen sized bed. We welcome additional guests if you desire. The toilet is separated from the shower which is a perk if you are not traveling alone. The kitchen is stocked with cooking essentials and a coffee maker/coffee and you will find toiletries for your use. We provide a welcome basket if you book for 3+ nights. In the unit you will find a booklet we created with suggestions for restaurants, bars, and parks. This area is currently having a ton of new build which means even more restaurants/bars/coffee shops and bars to try out in the slab town part of NW. The booklet also includes some simple notes about the apartment such as where to locate certain things and the wifi password. There are a couple board games and cable TV including HBO, sports channels etc. The space is fully finished (kitchen, flooring, bathrooms) with exposed brick walls and wood beams. If you do not like this style of a space I would not suggest booking with us.
The location could not be better! We are right off NW 23rd, walking distances to NW 21st with tons of restaurants, bars and shopping. We are walking distance to forest park (largest urban park in the US with 80 miles of hiking trails), the rose garden, Japanese gardens, the Hoyt arboretum. We are also walking distance to the Pearl District where you can find more restaurants, shopping, Powell's books and bars. There are a ton of yoga/exercise studios walking distance and great running trails in forest park. You an also walk to Trader Joes, Whole Foods, local Co-op (Food Front), New Seasons and there is a corner store three blocks away.
  • Amanda's place was perfectly located, right in the heart of all the 23rd street action! I couldn't have imagined staying in anywhere outside of the area. The apartment was good sized and was plenty warm, despite some of the reviews. Parking was also never an issue.

    Randy2016-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Large, comfy studio in a basement apartment. Up a quiet street, but at the end of the street are a lot of shops, restaurants, etc. Great place to stay. Thanks!

    Callum2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amanda's place was great and was at an excellent spot to get to all the bars, restaurants and shops. We had towels and a washing machine and a great bed to crash on. I'd stay here again.

    Michele2018-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was adorable and so is the area. We could walk almost anywhere. The area was very safe and they were very helpful with tips. They also had great communication before and during our stay.

  • We had a great stay! This place is in a great neighbourhood. Lots of fun shops and restaurants. We arrived the day after a crazy snowstorm so the city was pretty quite and hard to get around. We ended up walking to the Moda centre. It took a bit because of the weather but wasn't far at all. The place itself is cozy and cute. It had everything we needed. Our hosts checked in and made sure we had everything we needed and had some good pointers for the area. We'd definitely stay again!

    Raj2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • beautiful place in a prime location in Portland. walking distance to many cool shops, restaurants, and bars. Amanda was an amazing host! I would definitely stay there again

    Mikela2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is so cute and vintage we loved it! Amanda was very easy to get in touch with and I appreciated the booklet they had made with info on restaurants. The location was IDEAL and the furthest we had to park was one block over, but only a walk across a small parking lot. The only issue was that you can hear every footstep and conversation that happens upstairs, so if we were staying longer, it possibly could be annoying in the early mornings but during our stay did not bother us at all. Overall I would definitely stay here again!

  • It's a very cute guest house. We stayed here for 3 days and had a very good experience here. The neighborhood is in a nice part of the city and seems really safe as well. They're very accommodating as well, all you need is ask! I highly recommend this guest house for anything purposes, especially a PDX getaway!

    Lam2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Truly an amazing value! Place was spotless, all sorts of extras were provided, and the decor was super charming. We had our privacy, but Kim and Doug were still available when we had questions. They were accommodating to my schedule, friendly, responsive, and again, the guest house was A+! I would love to stay again. Don't hesitate-- book it! Thanks again, guys!

  • You can't beat Kim & Doug's airbnb when staying in Portland! It's a beautiful and more importantly, comfortable space. They really thought about every detail and what kind of experience it would translate into. The place is super easy to find, park and is central to all Portland has to offer.

    Maggie2018-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Doug's place was SO convenient to the airport, and not even bad from downtown. It was super easy to get on the bus that took us straight to downtown. The place is really cute-- straight off a Pinterest board.

    Leah2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Kim & Doug's place with my mom as we came to have a short and restful mom and daughter "baby moon". My mom is highly particular about cleanliness and everything about Kim & Doug's place exceeded her expectations. When we got home, my mom could not stop talking about how much she enjoyed staying here. Kim & Doug are respectful, quick to respond, and try their best to accommodate where they can. I had such a great trip and I believe staying here was a big factor of it! Can't wait to stay here again!

    Jessica2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place to stay! We love having a space that's private, so we were a little hesitant about a guest house, but your entrance and exit is completely private and your space is too! The space is beautiful! We literally took a ton of pictures because we loved the style of the decor and want to decorate our home similar! Great amenities! Awesome place to stay!

And all of this just 15 minutes from downtown.

This 3rd floor loft is located in the N. Williams District, on a main bike route, across the street from a bus stop, close to the street car and light rail. It is an eclectic 900 sqft self contained unit with amazing views on the top floor of a 1900's Victorian. This stretch of Williams Ave has a more industrial feel but we are just a few blocks from eateries & libations. Walk to the Convention Center, Moda Center and the Pearl District.
-The view is amazing. -Efficiency style open kitchen with 2 stove top burners, toaster oven, french press, cookware, full dishware & glassware plus a real fridge with freezer. -comfy queen bed & nice Egyptian cotton sheets -new heating system with Air Conditioning! -2 wifi networks -a slew of information & maps on Portland & surrounding areas such as the Columbia Gorge, Oregon Coast, wine country etc. -Walk to the heart of the Williams District -Walk to the convention Center & Moda -Walk into the Pearl District (20min.)
Building on its reputation for bicycles, beers and brunch, the Williams District has evolved into a dynamic, must-see destination for locals and visitors alike. With its broad array of eateries, breweries, characters, shops and services, the district is a veritable composite of all the best Portland has to offer. The Williams District includes more than 150 businesses and is also defined by its rich cultural history. In the 1940s and ’50s, Williams Avenue was teeming with jazz clubs and speakeasies. Today located just down the street is the historic Billy Webb elks lodge. On a Friday or Saturday night it is not rare to sit on the deck and hear the DJ spinning.
  • Great host, very accomodating

    Chris2014-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Tyra was easy, prompt, helpful and friendly - check-in and check-out could not have been smoother. The apartment was as beautiful as the photos! The kitchen was well equipped, the bed very comfortable and abundant reading material about Portland very helpful. Easy access to public transportation (bus as well as streetcar) made exploring downtown Portland a joy.

    David2015-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our visit was very true to its description. We can't say enough to how beautiful and organized the loft was for our stay. Not to mention how close everything around us was. We found our way to Pearl and Alberta District that were within a 2 mile radius from our stay. Additionally, Tyra provided us with tea and snacks that was super thoughtful. The convenience and ease of the location made our stay in Portland comfortable and relaxing. Tyra was very accommodating to our questions and provide us with guidance on events in the area. She was great on every aspect of being a host and we plan on staying at this location again.

    Crystal2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was in a good location, we could walk 20 min into downtown or drive many places in 5 min. We arrived to a nice bottle of wine and a thoughtful message from Tyra with a lot of great restaurant, bar and coffee suggestions. We did not have an issue with parking in front of the house, there was always a spot available. If you're a light sleeper I might suggest an eye mask and some earplugs (one pair was available for us to use there) as there was some moderate noise from the construction and the downstairs tenants. Tyra was great with communication and overall it is a good basic place to stay.

    Mallory2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome, simply awesome. I enjoyed the space very much and Tyra was the best help, she had tons of great suggestions for experiencing portland. I would definitely go back.

    Dan2014-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is my 2nd time staying at Tyra's place and both times have been super nice. I appreciate the amenities, full kitchen, and how comfortable the bed is. Definitely recommend.

    Shauna2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra was a wonderful host and her place was just a quick 5-10 min walk from some great local restaurants. Directions to access her place were really clear. Also had some great views of Portland and the lighting was especially beautiful in the golden hour. She also has a fan when it heats up since it’s 3 floors up and a radiator & tons of blankets prepared for cooler weather. All in all so glad we stayed with her!

    Kerri2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Tyra's was wonderful and unfussy. Tons of things to do and see nearby, she provides lots of maps and magazines, the view is incredible, and overall it is very peaceful for being in the middle of such a bustling city. I wish I could find an apartment like this here to rent out, such a nice space!

Welcome to our Aloha Themed Backyard Cottage- A 400 square foot 1 bedroom studio with a fully equipped kitchen/gas range/dinning area. The cottage is perfect for 2 but can accommodate up to 4 using the futon couch in the living area. It has its own entrance and a private backyard patio. We are located within a 15 minute walk to the Alberta street shops/Kennedy School, plus the local grocery store New Seasons is just 5 blocks away. Book the entire month (ex 15th-15th) to get the monthly discount!
This studio is one large area divided into a bedroom, living room and kitchen using 6 foot tall walls that don't touch the ceiling, but are still able to give you the feel of privacy within a big and open area. We provide a little of everything you should need for your stay in Portland. Internet access, a DVD player, Netflix, Hulu Plus (at this time we do not get any actual television channels, sorry), a small washing machine, but no dryer and hanging racks to dry your clothes. Outside there is your own private yard with an outdoor fire pit to kick up your feet and relax. If you feel like eating outside, there is also a patio table and chairs. For those of you who have stayed with us before, please note: the chickens have moved and are no longer at this location. Important note: Even though the front and back house are completely separate, they are still in close proximity to each other. In the event that the front house is having an outdoor gathering on their back patio, you may hear some noise. Also when the heater starts up, and the metal expands, you will hear a “ping” noise. The noise doesn’t last long but we do want you to be aware. If this bothers you, you have the option to shut the heater off at night.
Just one block away from the house there is a lovely shaded park with a walking path around the perimeter. A short 15 minute walk and you are at the Alberta Arts District which offers a vibrant scene with several restaurants, coffee shops, brewpubs, art galleries, unique shops, food carts, and even Portland’s first Tiny Massage Cart created by the hosts Megan and Neil! The Concordia neighborhood is just a 15 minute walk away as well. Here, there is New Seasons local grocery store, People’s Yoga and many great restaurants such as McMenamins Kennedy School (fun for both adults and kids-inside includes low cost movies theater, bars, food AND a outdoor salt water soaking pool).
  • Great experience provided. Very clean and comfy studio. Amazing attention to detail. Host has clearly made a lot of effort. Plenty of suggestions and help if required. We loved meeting the hens and being able to actively feed them and collect eggs-lovely idea. Good communication and the flat had everything we needed. A great retreat. We didn't get to meet Megan and Neil but everything was great.

  • We had a great stay at Backyard Cottage Oasis (4 people total, 2 nights)! The house was very clean and accommodating to our needs, and the backyard was a perfect little space to relax in. Meagan and Neil were fantastic host, helping with any questions we had and were flexible to our schedule!

  • I don't have enough positive adjectives for Megan and her charming studio that we stayed at. This was my first Airbnb vacation, and what a wonderful experience it was! A girl friend and I visited Portland for 4 days, and the magical Aloha Studio went above and beyond our expectations. Megan was generous enough to have thought of every possible amenity we could need or want: extra blankets and towels, heater/air con, free wi-fi, a record player with awesome records, a flat screen tv and books, a full kitchen with hot plate and hot/cold water tower, umbrellas in the closet, and a lovely note to greet us at the door. The chickens were so cute, and greeted us every day and followed us around in their 'mansion' as we came and left. We were allowed to take a few of their eggs, but sadly did not have enough time to make an omlette! Also in the studio were binders full of suggestions on where to visit and eat in Portland, which were useful and fun to look through. The location was perfect as well, and close to everything. Down the main street a few blocks away was a New Seasons market (like Whole Foods but better), and a few more blocks down was the McMenamins Kennedy School which is a Must Visit; a former old elementary school turned restaurant/bar/movie theatre/hotel, we enjoyed the Happy Hour there. Lastly, Megan answered every single one of my questions prior to our visit, and was nothing short of gracious and helpful. She even put a futon in the studio for us, when i told her my little sister would be staying with us for a few days. We were comfortable, happy and satisfied the entire time at Aloha, and will think of nowhere else for accommodations next time we are back in Portland. We will most definitely be back here! :)

    Grace2013-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable place. Fresh eggs from 4 wonderful hens who have great lives in their mansion. Megan was incredibly thoughtful and responsive. "Ping Pong" noises from heater system was a problem and hopefully will be remedied. The location is absolutely ideal. Loved running in the neighborhood, taking the 70-20 buses downtown, and shopping, eating, and drinking on Alberta Street. Could have spent the entire time in NE neighborhood. Thanks Megan.

    Suzanne2013-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at the cottage! Megan thought of everything, I can honestly say our stay was stress free with all her tip books and details. We have never been to Portland before so it was so helpful that she provided custom guide books and fun activity checklists to help guide us during our stay. We will definitely be back! Thank you Megan :)

    Laurissa2016-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! Very comfortable and clean. The chickens are cute and the fresh eggs for breakfast were a treat. Easy to get around (we had a car) and nice neighborhood.

  • My sweetheart and I came to Portland to adventure for a few days and were lucky enough to stumble upon this gem of a cottage! We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The cottage is exactly as pictured - just as spotless, and even more spacious than expected! The location is also fantastic - Alberta Arts District is a quick walk (along charming streets). Megan and Neil were spectacular hosts. We felt immediately welcomed with a personalized welcome sign and note left for us. They were super receptive and quick to respond to all questions. They also have one of the cutest babies ever. Just sayin. Oh, and the chickens! Four of the loveliest ladies you'll ever meet. You'll definitely want to take advantage of the eggs - they're absolutely delicious. I really can't say enough about this place. I look forward to staying here again! Thank you so much, Megan and Neil!

    Lauren2014-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Megan was very proactive, communicating in advance before our arrival. She left us a nice note, welcoming us to the Studio; also, fresh eggs, and some snacks! The Studio is awesome. It is very clean and in such a perfect location... close to Alberta, etc. I lived in the neighborhood for 5 years and this was a great way to come back for a weekend. -Comfy bed, nice record collection (gotta love Purple Rain, right?!?), & warm space overall.

The kitchen has what you'd need to cook a meal (oven, stove, spices, and plates). We recommend this place if you just need a place to sleep after exploring the city or are wanting to eat your meals in. It was a great fit for us!

Spacious bedroom with clawfoot tub/shower bathroom in a beautiful 1927 craftsman home. Located a quick 5 miles north of downtown, we are 10 minutes miles to the Yellow Max & across the street from #75 bus both of which have you downtown in about 30-35 minutes. Parking is very easy to find on the streets that surround the house. We are LGBTQ and 420 friendly (outside only). A friendly, quiet dog lives here.
Our home runs on 100% renewable energy but we even provide a portable A/C when high temps exceed 80 degrees. Guests have told us the queen bed is extremely comfortable and the blackout blinds make it feel like you could sleep all day. Seasonally adjusted duvets keep you comfortable year-round. Extra seating gives you space to enjoy the TV equipped with Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime or maybe even read a book! This bedroom is on the main floor of our home and has a bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower with hair dryer, basic amenities and room for your gear. You may have light use of our kitchen (easy breakfasts and warming leftovers - no frying or baking).
Our neighborhood is diverse and friendly with quaint vintage shops, quirky bars and excellent restaurants. It is conveniently located near I-5 and public transport. We have a 87 point walkscore and are considered a biking paradise! Just 5 miles north of Downtown and nestled in the historic Kenton community close to shops and dining, we are within easy walking distance to public transit (Yellow Max line and several buses) and a 10-30 minute car ride downtown with great N/S-bound freeway access (depending upon traffic). We are 25-35 minutes away from downtown by bus or Yellow Max train line. Both are within six blocks of the house with a bus stop less than a block away.
  • The room was great and there House was well decorated, definitely felt at home

  • My first trip to Portland couldn’t have been better. The neighborhood was great along with Maylene and Charity being amazing hosts. Rented a car but public transportation can get you around as well. Overall, my stay was amazing and can’t wait to go back this summer. Thank you Maylene and Charity!

  • I love staying with the girls. Great location and clean. Really easy access to public transportation.

    Marcy2015-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying with Maylene and Charity! The bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living area were both clean and spacious and it was a about a 10-15 minute drive to get downtown. Both ladies were friendly and very welcoming. When my boyfriend realized that he had forgotten to print his ticket for the journey home, Charity very happily printed it. We also really liked the expresso they offered the guests as it made for a much needed and delicious kick start to the morning! I would highly recommend staying here and would happily return back if we ever find ourselves in Portland again. Thank-you both so much!

Private room in this newly remodeled single level, 1500 sq ft home with stunning Mt. Hood / valley views! Stroll 10 minutes to super-hot Montavilla (look online: "10 hottest US neighborhoods right now"). Perched on Mt Tabor, just a few blocks from hiking in beautiful Mt. Tabor Park, we're just a few minutes from Hawthorne District, Division St, Belmont, Jade District, and hundreds of pubs and restaurants. And only 20 minutes from stunning Columbia Gorge, (the best hiking in the portland area).
This is one of the few Airbnb places on Mt. Tabor that really offers GREAT views. The space is the main floor of a Mid-Century Modern, set up to feature the view in all the living areas (the bedrooms have views of Mt. Tabor Park and forest). Take some time to relax with a bottle of wine on the peaceful deck which has INCREDIBLE views of the Willamette Valley, the Gorge, and Mt. Hood! It's an excellent location: A safe, quiet, neighborhood, just out of the fray of busy streets! Your private bedroom has a double sized bed with a SUPER COMFY 3 inch memory foam topper, (Guests have told me that this bed with it's memory foam pillows gave them the best sleep they've had in weeks!) And of course fresh bedding, pillows, extra blankets and even more pillows... 2 people would comfortably fit here, though arrangements can sometimes be made to accommodate more. There is a ceiling fan, and a dresser and a work desk for your use in your room. There is one shared full bathroom. The house is comfy warm in the winter, and has A/C for the summer. There is a cozy gas fireplace in the living-room. I pride myself on Value, so you'll be provided with... ~Free High-Speed Wireless Internet ~Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), towels and washcloths, blow dryer, (to save space in your suitcase!) ~Two phone charging stations (on the nightstand on each side of the bed, right where you need them). ~Dresser, if you feel like taking time to unpack and relax ~Rack for your luggage (so you're not tripping over it or cluttering up the dresser top) ~Individual Fan and Heater in the room, so you can control your own temperature, or in case you need some white noise while you sleep :-) ~Work table in case you need to spread out your work, if you brought it :-( ~Cozy gas fireplace for ambiance while you sit and watch the world go by in the city below! ~Portland Picks and Information, dining and sightseeing guides, and my special LOCAL PICKS, arranged in an easy way to see the most exciting things that this area has to offer. ~My handmade MAPS (these things took HOURS to create) with Restaurants, Pubs, Breweries, Food Carts, Hiking, and Public Transportation marked! ~Plenty of (bookmarked) Portland Travel Books and pamphlets, local menus... ~Large Screen TV monitor with Netflix and Apple TV, and free Wifi. ~Your personal 24 hour check in/out ACCESS CODE so you can come and go WHENEVER you please, without worrying about me needing to be there to let you in, or having a key to keep track of! ~Pet-free environment, in case you have allergies or a dislike of being covered in pet hair. ~Free parking, right outside the house ~Free Coffee, lots of tea, and breakfasty snacks (so you save some money on breakfasts, although there are some pretty darned great breakfast places nearby that you may not want to miss). We're located in a VERY QUIET neighborhood just steps from Mt. Tabor park (Portland's most wonderful urban park, and one of only four volcanoes within a US city's limits), 5-10 minutes walk to Restaurants, Food Carts, various Pubs and a Brewery, Vintage Shopping, Farmer's Market , and take Public Transit downtown from just 6 blocks away. We are close enough to the airport to make this a super convenient sleepover to get an early jump on tomorrow's early departure, or for business travelers. Or, if you are heading East to Mt. Hood, or the Columbia Gorge, this is the perfect jumping off point, just 25 minutes from the Gorge. Also, we're just over a mile from the 205 bike path, and from there a couple miles to the Springwater Corridor, the well-known 21 mile long car-free bike path that connects with countless other parks and bike paths. Although Check-in and Check-out times are listed, they are just guidelines, and I can usually accommodate other times if reasonable, and worked out in advance. In addition to routine cleaning, we wash EVERY piece of bed linen between EVERY guest stay because that's what we would want if we were guests. We used to charge a cleaning fee, but we don't want to penalize clean guests because of a few that left the space dirty, so we eliminated the fee. So if you don't mind, we'd appreciate it if you would take your shoes off at the door. We hope that by making it cheaper for you, you might make it easier for us. Morning coffee or tea, and snack bars, are included! Please Note: in compliance with Portland regulations, there is a maximum of 5 short term guests at any time, staying in 2 bedrooms, in the entire house.
When visiting Portland, where you stay is critical. You may not to be on a super busy street, but you still want to have easy access to everything. We have that here. The neighborhood is Mt. Tabor, you can look it up online and see why it's such a great place to be. We are literally surrounded with great food and pubs. Two James Beard Nominated restaurants are within walking distance! Walk 5 minutes to the Coquine Cafe, or 10 minutes to the Montavilla pub area with restaurants, pubs, dive bars, a cocktail lounge, a brewery, coffee and tea houses, the best Pizza in town, vintage stores, and a theater where you can have Pizza and Beer while you watch a current movie for $4!! Walk 5 minutes to SE 82nd Ave (the Jade District), which has some of the most authentic Asian food in the city. Walk to the other side of the park and you end up on Division St.(one of the 10 hottest food streets in the country), or Hawthorne Blvd (TONS of different ethnic and pricing options). Portland is not called "Beervana" for nothing, it has more brewpubs per capita than any other city in the United States, and believe me, some of them are astounding! I am a homebrewer myself, and have spent a lot of time testing out the local scene, and love to give ideas of good beers or bars to seek out, or places to eat. Portland is also famous for its food carts, and there are nearly a hundred food carts within walking distance of the house. And we're just minutes away from the bus that will take you right downtown. This house is at the foot of Mt. Tabor Park, a wonderful park situated on an extinct volcano (it's the only volcano within the city limits of a major US City), filled with beautiful walking and biking trails, 3 picturesque reservoirs (which are listed on the National Historic Register), an amphitheater within the cinder cone of the volcano, tennis and basketball courts, views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Saint Helens, and downtown Portland. The park is also a local bird watching hot-spot, being visited by 143 species of birds! The hill has 300 feet of elevation gain for a good workout, if you head for "the steps", or you can meander your way around on countless trails. This home, although fairly modest, is nestled up with the million dollar houses in the higher part of the hill, so it is fun to stroll around and look at the amazing modern architecture, and the beautiful traditional craftsman style homes surrounding us.
  • We got lucky with our last minute, weekend Portland planning with Scot and his fabulous place in the Mt. Tabor area. Scot was super kind, communicative, and helpful. There were many resources at Scot's place that enhanced our weekend in Portland. Thank you Scot for the hospitality! :)

  • Scott was a great host. The location was fantastic and the view to the east was just beautiful. Really quiet street but we could walk just a few blocks to Bipartisan cafe for coffee. Accessing the trails on Mt Tabor was just down the street.

  • Wonderful experience with Scot. He was ready and available, knows everything about town and is free and open with advice.

  • We had a great time at Scot's place. The views from his place was amazing and the room was comfortable. We stayed with Scot for a week and it is a great bargain. It is located in a quiet area with ample parking. There are lots of good restaurants and bars nearby and Scot recommended some great places. We would stay here again.

  • The property was in a lovely and peaceful neighborhood with beautiful views. Although we isn't see the host during our stay, the instructions were so clear it led to an easy checking in process. The other guests were also very pleasant too. The room was spacious and clean upon arrival too!

  • Scot was a very welcoming host, with lots of helpful local suggestions. The view was great from the house, neighborhood was quiet, room was as described. The futon and foam topper were almost too soft for us, not quite as supportive as a regular mattress. Overall it was a good value and we would stay again.

    Brian2015-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Scot was a really welcoming hosts. He was quick to respond to my messages and offered some really good local insight into what there was to do in Portland. The room itself was bright, spacious and clean. Thanks for a great stay.

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. We use Eco cleaning products to keep the apartment clean, without compromising your health. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.
  • Tolle Unterkunft, sehr sauber und ruhig dadurch, dass man sich im Keller befindet. Besonders hat mir auch der Seiteneingang gefallen :)

  • The place was clean, cozy and was exactly as pictured. We rented a car and were able to park it right in their driveway. If we hadn't rented a car we could have easily walked or taken a cab anywhere we wanted to go! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. The location was perfect.

  • Jennifer's place was just what we needed after a camping trip. Great location, tidy, and comfortable.

  • Jennifer was a wonderful host. My son and I were flying into Portland late at night and my husband was able to go earlier and set things up. Jennifer even offered to set up a pack and play for our son. They have a great set up with a private entrance and pretty close to the airport. It was perfect!

  • Although we didn’t get to meet Jennifer, our stay with her was SUPER comfortable and the location was AWESOME! So close to all my favorite spots in Portland (super walkable) and everywhere else we wanted to go to was only about a 15 min drive at most. The space was super clean, cute, and comfortable. If I really had a “complaint” it would just be that the mirror in the bathroom was too high and I could only see the top of my head when at the sink LOL but it could also just be short girl problems. It wasn’t a big deal though, just bring a little mirror for you to do your makeup if needed. I highly suggest booking her place! I cannot express more excitement over the location and the level of comfort this little studio had, even the couch was so comfortable my bf and I ended up falling asleep on it on our first night instead of the bedroom. I will definitely be booking this again when I come back to Portland! Thank you Jennifer!

  • Super nice location near Richmond! Very clean and cozy space. It was perfect for spending the day in Portland. The host was very friendly, quick to respond and very accommodating of all my needs. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to explore Portland for a few days.
