We designed the Guest House for friends and family and we love sharing the space with people traveling to Bellingham. Within walking distance of both Western Washington University and downtown Bellingham--both are within a mile--the Guest House is a convenient, private and affordable option when visiting the City of Subdued Excitement. Please note that the Guest House is quite small (200sf), it has a queen bed in the loft and a full sized futon on the main floor.
This small space (200sf) is great for an affordable, private stay in Bellingham. We offer a queen bed in the loft and a full sized futon couch/bed on the main floor. Therefore, the space can accommodate four, but is not ideal as the space is small. We do offer a fridge on the porch and a coffee pot, but there is NO kitchen. Guests should also be aware that the lofted bed has sturdy, ladderesque stairs. However, there is not a lot of head room in the loft and it can be difficult to navigate especially if you are elderly or disabled or exceptionally tall. If you are not comfortable with stairs we can certainly set up the futon or we recommend finding more suitable accommodations.
The best part of the neighborhood (York) is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown Bellingham and Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying Bellingham. Bellingham has also become a destination for craft beer with about 15 breweries and several tap houses--many are located less than a mile from the Guest House. You should also note that the neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal University student energy.

  • Cozy home for two. Very clean and welcoming upon check-in! It was quite cold and they had the heaters running before we walked in the door, and a beer waiting for us to enjoy.

  • Chris and Amy's place was absolutely fantastic.... it is in an incredible location, and although I didn't have the pleasure of meeting either of them , their communication was wonderful and the place was exactly what I needed for a short stay in Bellingham! Highly recommend.

  • Just what we were looking for, awesome place, we loved our stay:)

  • This tiny house was a pleasure to stay in due to the creative arrangements and fantastic locality. We felt immediately welcomed upon entering this tiny but refreshingly minimalist space. Our comfort levels remained high throughout the stay here as the bathroom and loft area were ample in character and function. After spending a wonderful evening around Bellingham, we relaxed on the couch while planning our itinerary for backpacking around the Olympic Peninsula. The next morning we sipped coffee and enjoying the cool morning breeze on the artfully decorated front porch. This DIY tiny house made a lasting impression on us as we reflected on how we could reduce our material dependencies. All that to say about the tiny house, it was Chris and Amy's hospitality that we truly cherished. Upon arriving and a quick introduction, we seemed like old pals swapping stories over an impromptu social happy hour on the front porch. Getting to know the architects and master craftsman of the tiny house offered glimpses into their artful creativity. It was a truly memorable experience.

  • This charming little cabin-feeling guest house is in an awesome location. Chris and Amy were great about communicating with us but also giving us privacy; we felt very welcome and comfortable. Judging by the books we saw in the cabin, I think Chris, Amy, Patrick (my bf) and I would have some great conversation! Our kind of people and our kind of place, we'll definitely be back!

    Amanda2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • It had snowed a lot before we arrived and we thought the place might be cold. However, it was lighted, clean and cozy when we arrived. Chris and Amy thoughtfully left out crisp apples and other snacks. There were even a couple of beers in the cooler for us. The location, a residential neighborhood, was close enough for us to walk to dinner and breakfast, but we did not because of the snow. Our hosts thoughtfully put out the main floor bed, since both of us have knee trouble and the loft would not have been as comfortable for us as for others. A diamond shaped stained glass window gave a lovely glow at night. Our hosts did everything possible to make our first experience with Airbnb a great one.

The Pleasant Bay Lookout is a private room with a spectacular view, nestled in the trees. Guests access our family's home (where we live full time) for kitchen, bathroom, living room, hot tub, and other household amenities. We feel fortunate to welcome guests to this tucked-away oasis of peace and beauty. Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us - we only accept requests from those with complete profiles who let us know they've read our entire listing description. Thank you!
The Pleasant Bay Lookout is nestled in a forest overlooking the Salish Sea. Its stunning beauty and simplicity have been showcased widely, including on Airbnb's Instagram, in local magazines and on many websites. The Lookout is simple: one room (121 square feet) with a comfortable recliner, a modern sofa that converts to a bed, a glass wall with a breathtaking view, and a deck to experience the sound of the sea, songbirds and sun, rain and shifting clouds firsthand. As one guest said: "The space is small in footage but huge on character and coolness. The back wall is all glass. It leads out to a deck and offers a beautiful view of the woods and the bay. The view makes the whole room feel as big as the whole out of doors." We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Lookout reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. There is a branched tree from our property to hang your coat, a live edge coffee table made by Peter, and thoughtfully chosen art on the walls. In the main house - which you'll share with us, as we live there full time - you'll eat at a handcrafted breakfast bar, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. Note that there is no bathroom in the Lookout - it's a 40 second walk to the bathroom in the house, which is open 24/7 for your use. The common trend for visitors to the Lookout is to arrive and cast off any plans they have: most seem to fall into the state described in Italian as "La Dolce Far Niente - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing." The main house is a 30 second walk from the Lookout. We live in the house, and are grateful to share it with Lookout guests from all over the world. Though fifty years old, it is comfortably modern, built on a forested bluff above a picturesque bay with a simple design and architecture that integrates with its surroundings. Most walls of the house are made of glass, making a moving painting with the flight of birds, trees dancing in the wind, moonlight and dappled sunlight - it truly is a feast for the senses. The sensory delight increases when you go outside the Lookout or house – the forest is alive with songbirds, shorebirds, raptors and peekaboo views. Raccoon and deer wander through, and Chuckanut Mountain trails and beaches are a short walk, bike ride, paddle or drive away. There are many options for nature excursions and adventures right outside our door. The Pleasant Bay Lookout is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want simple accommodations in a beautiful natural setting. • Note that the Lookout and our home are nestled in the trees, but not built IN a tree like a typical treehouse. • Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please let us know you've read our entire listing description and understand the arrangement between Lookout and main house when you send a booking request. Thank you!
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on a forested trail overlooking the sea. Launching a boat from a nearby area will bring you to a beautiful coastline, with Chuckanut Island as the gem of Chuckanut Bay. For years, our family has been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. The quaint village-within-the-city of Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car (if you lack a vehicle, we're happy to carpool the short distance to town as we're able). The Skagit Valley is just 20 minutes south along Chuckanut Drive. Venturing east, you can reach the glorious mountains, rivers, and waterfalls of the North Cascades in just over an hour. Driving west, you can be on a ferry to the pristine San Juan islands in under an hour. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and enjoy a picnic on a beach in the same day! The Chuckanut area and Bellingham region are an outdoor recreation and nature lovers' paradise. We're the Northwest epicenter for sea, mountain, lake, and river activities, as well as island hopping and visiting local farms of every variety (vineyards, vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy). If you'd prefer a more urban vacation, Bellingham has great markets, diverse shopping opportunities, varied restaurants and nightlife, great local breweries, and one of the most beautiful university campuses in Washington state. We're situated equidistant to Vancouver BC and Seattle, so big city attractions are just a 90 minute drive away.
  • Aimee and Peter are great! The lookout itself was really cool and cozy, had a beautiful view, and we felt very comfortable using their awesome kitchen and hot tub. We also enjoyed chatting with our hosts- they are really fun, interesting, welcoming, and accommodating people. They gave us great tips on hikes and adventures, too. We'll definitely come back!

    Emily2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view, neatly designed, Aimee and Peter had lots of info about surrounding area!

    Nathalie2014-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here has been one of the highlights of our trip so far! The space is perfect to enjoy the amazing natural beauty of the area. It's difficult to put into words the unique experience their place was. Beyond the surroundings, they were great hosts and we're happy to chat, give suggestions, or leave us to ourselves. We would love to come back and stay again!

    Matt2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The lookout was just as described. It is a beautiful place close to the water. Peter and Aimee were very kind and helpful and eager to answer all questions. This place is one of a kind!

    Amy2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter were great hosts - they were easy to communicate with and were incredibly hospitable. They gave us great suggestions on things to do, places to eat, and they were flexible with our schedule. Everything was as pictured & described, and we loved the beautiful view in the lookout. I'd recommend the lookout for anyone looking for a Pacific Northwest adventure!

    Ciera2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lookout---such a peaceful and quiet location (except when trains roll by but we don't mind that). We loved hot tubbing our hiking sore bodies. Great place will likely be back.

    Leslie2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter are so generous to share their little slice of northwest heaven! My daughter and I were welcomed by Peter and made to feel right at home, which wasn't hard to do. The property is beautiful and this getaway in the trees is a must! A great spot to sip your favorite beverage while taking in the cedars and all they have to offer. The beauty will certainly inspire you. We will return for sure!

    Katie2016-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is our first rental on AirBNB and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. The property is exactly as advertised. Our hosts were friendly and warm and made sure we had what we needed for a relaxing time. I thought it might be weird to share a bathroom / kitchen with our hosts, but they made it feel very natural. It would have been nice to have more time to interact with them, but we had a pretty full schedule, and it didn't feel at all odd to come and go as needed. We were able to take advantage of the hot tub, under the trees and stars (sigh). There is a train that goes by at night. I heard it before falling asleep, but it didn't wake me up. I would rent from here again - maybe next time we'll bring a kayak and enjoy the beach more.

Amy and I have recently updated this turn of the century, 800+ sf character home. The Bungalow is located within walking distance of both WWU (1 mile) and downtown Bellingham (1 mile) and the neighborhood boasts several great breweries and dining options. The bungalow is located on a dead end, single-family zoned street and is a great option for someone looking for a private, centrally located and affordable neighborhood place to stay while visiting Bellingham.
This house is a turn of the century character home in the York neighborhood. We have relished the opportunity to fix it up. Major updates have been made to the roof and electrical. I installed new hardwood to the foyer, living room, bedroom #2 and the dining room. Both the exterior and interior have fresh coats of paint and I replaced the front porch. The kitchen could use an update but is clean and has fully functional appliances and is stocked with everything you need to cook. Sorry, no dishwasher.
The best part about York neighborhood is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown bellingham or Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying bellingham. The neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal university student energy.

Our studio is close to everything Bellingham has to offer. Just blocks from downtown, we are walking distance from nightlife, museums, restaurants, parks, and the waterfront. We know you'll dig the location! We love our Lettered Streets neighborhood, our view of the Bay, and proximity to all the good stuff. You'll feel at home with a private entrance, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. With tons of historic charm, yet a newly renovated space, this is the perfect spot to enjoy this quirky fun town!
This is the third floor of a 19th century home. There are two sets of stairs, and electronic locks to access your private studio. The studio has a full kitchen, and we provide the basics to cook simple items. If guests want to do more extensive cooking, we are happy to provide the tools, however we do not keep everything in the unit, nor do we keep any food or condiments. If you have the need for more specialty cooking tools, we ask that the guest communicates this need. This also goes for basic household items such as irons, hairdryers, etc. We are minimalists in many ways, but can always share/provide these items. We provide coffee and tea (Keurig) as well has a hot-pot for water. The space has a QUEEN size bed. The living room couch is a small futon that folds into a bed. We do not advertise this as a second bed because it is not a typical "bed". It has worked for many guests with children, or adults who don't mind their feet hanging off the edges. If you have questions about this additional bed, please message us.
Lettered Streets is an awesome neighborhood if you like to be close to downtown restaurants, bars, and businesses. We often walk to the farmers markets or to brunch, and appreciate that we are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Bellingham. We love all the breweries, tap-houses, and coffee shops that are blocks away from our house! It is also ideal because it is a short distance (less than a mile) from the waterfront and the Marina (Squalicum Harbor). The fact that we can walk less than a mile to the marina to inspect the yachts, watch the sunset at Zuanich park, or driftwood hunt along Squalicum Beach is a real luxury! We love our location so much, but we still feel it is important to note that because we are only blocks from downtown, parks, restaurants and the waterfront, we have some proximity to areas where the homeless population of Bellingham will congregate. As with any downtown area nationwide, homelessness is rising. It is unfortunate, but we cannot change this fact until certain systemic issues are addressed in our country. And Bellingham, even though picturesque and charming, shares the same disparity in living wage/home prices that the entire west coast is experiencing. However, we love living so close to downtown and have NO issues with our neighborhood. It is considered a desirable and very safe area to live. However, we like to give everyone a heads up... especially those folks that like to ignore that homelessness indeed exists in America. For more info on the Lettered Streets neighborhood feel free to visit: https://www.cob.org/services/planning/neighborhoods/Pages/lettered-streets.aspx
  • We had a great time staying at Lindsy and Eli's place! Arrival was very seamless and we had great communication throughout our whole stay. We especially loved being able to walk downtown and to Lettered Streets coffee.

  • Great experience at every level. The apartment was clean, very comfortable, and just felt good all the way around. As mentioned, there are missions close by but we didn't experience this as a problem. The train going by once in a while just added a nice flavor to our experience. Lindsy was great. She responded to our requests for an additional amenity without hesitation. She was flexible and responsive to our needs. She's a great host. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town. Highly recommended. Scott

  • The view is worth a million dollars. I've never woken up to a sunrise facing north with colors like that. I highly recommend this place.

  • The most amazing view in a very modern, chic and cozy cabin. A short walk down a path nearby takes you to a shared private beach for relaxing beachcombing. The host is easy to communicate with and was a pleasure to deal with. Comfortable beds and linens allowed for restful sleeps! One caution: there are no curtains as of yet in the unit's main living space. While the view is beautiful, curtains would be nice, especially if you plan on sleeping on the Murphy bed in the main space. Otherwise, a lovely cabin and very comfortable. Thank you for having us!

Other benefits of a practice can include an improvement in immunity and energy levels; stress reduction; and more balance and clarity for the mind. I have been a student of yoga for 15+ years. Traditions I’ve studied include Hatha, Kundalini, Anusara and Viniyoga. I was first introduced to Kundalini yoga in 2002. Interested in learning more about how this form of yoga worked, I completed the 220 hour Level 1 Kundalini yoga Teacher Training Program at YogaWest in Vancouver, B.C. and received my teaching certification in 2011. I’ve finished one (Mind & Meditation) of five modules towards Level 2 certification. My practice is also influenced by studying w/ teachers from other traditions, mainly Rod Stryker (Hatha) and Tias Little (Lyengar & Hatha). I have a background in biology & ecology and love to share the science behind yoga while not losing touch with its more mystical qualities.
  • The cottage is simply gorgeous!

  • The Cottage by the Sea is perfect. It is just as described. Simply sublime. of such excellence, or beauty as to inspire admiration or awe. Loved having two bathrooms and two bedrooms in such a small space. As we are two sisters sharing the space, it was great to have extra space to ourselves. The Beach Café Restaurant had delicious fire roasted Pizzas. We took the Lummi Mountain Hike. It was steep at first, then levels out. All in all it was an excellent experience. Jennifer is a Super Host who has taken exceptional care in preparing and listing this space. You are fortunate indeed to stay here.

  • 3 fellow grad students and I holed up here for two nights to get some studying done for finals. I had looked at the listing, but the space is even more beautiful in person - this was more than enough space for all of us, spotlessly clean, perfectly decorated. The panoramic picture windows over the water, and the view of the water from the bathtub are divine. Even in the rain, we couldn't be stopped from a walk on the private beach. The kitchen is exceptionally well-stocked - we ended up returning some grocery items on the way home we had bought thinking we'd need them there. Jennifer has really thought of everything one would need: tea, oil & vinegar, sugar, spices, etc. along with all the pots, pans, casserole dishes, wine glasses and everything else you need to cook gourmet meals! We got caught in a pretty big storm, but the wi-fi stayed intact even when our cell reception went out, and Jennifer kindly kept her phone on in case we needed anything. Other charming details: the binoculars by the window were put to good use, bath salts by the jetted tub, ample supply of firewood, kindling, and fire starters (plus instructions on fire-building for those of us who failed girl scouts), diverse DVD collection, exceptionally comfortable beds... This is easily my new favorite place in Washington - I can't wait to bring my partner back here asap! Cannot recommend highly enough.

    Erin2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just like the pictures. A bald eagle was practically doing laps in front of us. Jennifer is a terrific host and the house and location are lovely.

    Elizabeth2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • If it were possible to give more than 5 stars for location, I'd do so! Jennifer's place is great-- and the views are amazing. The weather during our visit was foggy and drizzly a good part of the time, but even so, it's hard to get tired of watching the changing light patterns on the water, along with birds and otter. The beach below the house is a great place for looking for seaglass or decorative stones, and the house itself is very comfortable and had everything we needed. The house is also very close to the ferry, general store and restaurants.

    Lynn2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Host responded right away and answered all questions, the location was beautiful beyond all expectations, everything was wonderful.

    Kay2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely, comfy cottage is smartly designed to take in the amazing view at all times - while cooking, relaxing, even taking a bath! Jennifer provided good info and directions and made check-in/out easy. We'd happily stay again!

    Meghan2018-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy beautiful place! We stayed here for a kid-free weekend getaway. Host was so nice and communicative. Place was immaculate, and the views were stunning! Can't wait to return.

A little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled creek side with a wide view of the bay. A huge garden to explore and graze from, cozy greenhouse, chicken tree house for the hens, kayaks to paddle into the bay, private hot tub, large fire pit, and BBQ.
This is a classy little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled literally creek side. This dynamic hangout beckons you to kick up your feet in the eclectic garden with curvy raised beds and a chicken tree house. We also have a gorgeous little greenhouse built from mostly up-cycled materials. Come collect your own eggs and graze from the garden, and stay a while. Hot tub and >5 kayaks available. We list the Hobbit House currently as a two night minimum stay. However, occasionally we have single nights left available, and you CAN make a request for those. We do have an upcharge of $30 for those single nights to cover for the extra cleaning. The cottage echos the designer main house, connected by boardwalk and lovely private garden. Hostess is a horticulturalist who loves to share creative thoughts. Watch the tides change, and smell the salt air, pick some greens for your salad from the garden and treat your palate to some fresh flavors. This retreat is ideal for one or two guests, as there is just one queen-size bed. Children are welcome as well, but please note that this space is small-- we call it the Hobbit House for a reason!-- and it is not child-proofed. The Hobbit House has a nice little galley (kitchen) inside with a mini fridge, two-burner hot plate, and toaster/convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee & tea with all the fixings, a few other breakfast goodies, and cooking essentials (spices, olive oil, etc.) all included in the price of your visit! We appreciate if you eat red meat to BBQ it outside in the outdoor kitchen area adjacent to the Hobbit House. This small cedar building also houses the shower, which has a limited hot water tank. Please note that showers must be kept short! We provide environmentally friendly shower products for you to use, as the water drains into the garden. The space feels very beachy/nautical. Please note that we have a composting toilet. We have a high sensitivity to this marine environment and our mutual stewardship of this special retreat.
Incredible little historic village setting. Old and young, a blend of very friendly, mellow dog lovers.
  • Visited earlier this month and had a great time! Wonderful small space, interesting garden, comfy hammock, and great view of the bay. Great hospitality and cute puppy to boot! The location is perfect for nipping into Fairhaven or up to Bellinham. We'll definitely be back! Thanks, Alison!

    Kristi2014-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • A charming little cottage right near the water. The Hobbit House was so cozy and cute. The bed was super comfy! Alison made sure we had everything thing we needed. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    Kristin2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Alison was great and very helpful! The grill was super and all our food turned out great, plus we were introduced to the magic of Avenue Bakery rosemary muffins!

    Reese2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Alison was a wonderful host and staying at the Hobbit house was absolutely wonderful. It was such a relaxing home and environment; my wife and I could not have been happier. There were several peaceful trails nearby. We are excited to return to use the kayak and do some biking.

  • We loved staying at the hobbit house. Cant wait to come back!

    Allison2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • A truly unique and cozy accommodation, ideally situated with a beautiful view, lush surroundings and welcoming hospitality!

    Conor2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit Hideaway and Alison were both fantastic! The cottage is cute, cozy, and tidy. Alison kindly showed us how to use the hot tub, grill, and fire pit, and where everything was to kayak if we wanted. The garden is sprawling and beautiful and we spent a fair amount of time reading there with a view of the lake in front of us. Alison has a real talent for making a beautiful, vibrant, sustainably-minded home (chickens! a greenhouse! an outdoor shower area!).

    Petra2014-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit Hideaway is AMAZING. Super cozy, clean and beautiful scenery. The hot tub was a nice plus! I will definitely be going back.

Cozy, spacious, artsy upper unit of duplex. Many windows, well appointed w king tempurpedic mattress, clawfoot tub, full kitchen. Just a walk to good coffee, the Food Coop, enticing restaurants- Pepper Sisters, Dragon River, Pickford Film Center, waterfront.
Victorian upper story of duplex on ridge above downtown Bellingham with much character, morning sun porch with swing, upper deck with peek-a-boo view of Bay, city views, back yard cabana...
On a ridge in downtown Bellingham. Mix of residential and commercial. Very walkable. Quiet private yard in the midst of the city.
  • Eine wunderschöne kleine Oase! Super nah zum Stadtkern aber doch ruhig und beschaulich. Die drei Zimmer bieten viel Platz und haben alles was man braucht. Danke. Super.

  • The space is beautiful and comfortable with thoughtful touches and everything needed to make living easy. The location is fantastic with a bakery and cafe, and the co-op all within a block. And Nicole was a wonderful host! She made check in and out very easy, and was always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend staying here!

    Dylan2017-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great place with artistic flair and everything provided, right down to the shaving cream I forgot to bring and the rose wine in the fridge.

  • It's a good place to stay if you want to be in the heart of Bellingham. A bit drafty, but everything else was good.

    Colleen2018-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a beautiful, cozy but spacious place. The epitome of a home away from home. Nicole is an excellent host. Attention to detail is valuable and Nicole has created a space that is personal, eclectic and artistic. It's filled with plants, art, books, a vinyl collection, keyboard, CDs, DVDs, a great entertainment center, not to mention all the essential items a person might need in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The couch and bed were my favorite places and both so roomy and comfortable. The private deck with armchair that looks out over downtown B'ham was a major after work relaxant as was the giant claw foot tub. There' s even an office space and a creative space that are separate. PLUS, the lovely co-op is literally steps away across the street not to mention the entire downtown experience at your fingertips. I just loved my stay and will definitely stay again in the future.

Enjoy this cheery light filled space with a separate kitchen. Located close to Fairhaven, WWU, Downtown Bellingham, and trails that lead to Chuckanut Mtn, the bay and WWU. Let this be your hub for all you want to experience while in Whatcom County.
This space is attached to the main house where I live. There is an always locked door in the hallway between the two spaces for privacy. There are 3 different rooms which make it more than a traditional studio. The large room has a queen bed and a sitting area. There is an outside entrance to this room with a low deck that looks over the backyard and the garden. This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There are 3 steps up from this room into the hallway. Off the hallway there is a bathroom with a large shower (no tub) and another room for a small kitchen with a microwave, a countertop convection toaster oven, a refrigerator, a hot pot and an assortment of cooking and eating dishes and utensils. There is a second outside entrance into the kitchen. I provide tea as well as coffee beans with a grinder and a drip system with an insulated carafe. I also have basic condiments such as mustard, ketchup, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. I have added an option for a third guest with the use of a 4" foam trifold single size mattress that could be placed on the floor next to the queen bed. This is for guests that want to bring a child or friends that may not want to share the queen bed. Please be aware that this is not a real bed and choose this option with that knowledge.
Wren House is conveniently located close to many popular locations. We are 1 mile from a 24-hour major grocery store in a shopping center with a pharmacy, restaurants, hardware, and REI. We are 1.5 miles from Fairhaven with many shops and restaurants, 1.5 miles from WWU, 2.5 miles to downtown Bellingham with shops, restaurants and award-winning brew pubs, and just 2 blocks to a Greenways Trail that takes you to the Chuckanut Mountains or to Bellingham Bay or WWU.
  • Preis-Leistung super. Ein eigenes kleines Haus am Stadtrand. Sehr gut und durchdacht eingerichtet.

  • The Wren House studio is just as it's advertised - clean, cozy, serene, and very accessible to nearby attractions. Sue made us feel very welcome, and was accommodating. It's a beautiful spot, and perfect for our needs. We'd definitely come back!

    Stuart2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! My partner and I needed a little place to crash for the weekend and Sue's place felt like home. The room is clean and has everything you might need. Having a small kitchen is a nice touch, we loved being able to get up and have coffee out of real mugs while getting ready for our day. Also! The garden is beautiful and a mama deer and her baby hung out in the yard for a good part of the day when we were there!

    Nora2017-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sues place has all you could possibly need. It’s tucked away on a quiet, residential street. But you are just a few minutes away from beautiful scenery, shopping and food. Such a great spot to recharge.

    Kaci2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a place to stay that was close to Fairhaven, quiet and comfortable and that is exactly what I got. The room was clean, quiet and the bed very comfortable. There was a small kitchenette that seemed to have everything that some one would need for a short stay. The bathroom clean and bright with heated tile floors. I stayed for less that 15 hours so did not have time to appreciate everything offered

The NOMAD'S NEST is a charming private studio with a kitchenette, bathroom, & communal hot tub. It is an eco-friendly & globally inspired space entirely crafted by us with thoughtful touches throughout. Our guests often comment that it has been their favorite airbnb experience. We welcome nomadic travelers from across the globe! Please note that you climb a flight of stairs to reach it. We charge an additional one time fee of $25 if you require the set up of the sofa bed.
Thoughtfully custom built & decorated by us. We sourced our local RE-Store for materials, our nomadic adventures, & creativity. Guests have described our space by using the word “hygge,” a Danish term defined as “a quality of coziness and comfort that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.” Pronounced “hoo-guh,” the word has no direct translation in English, though “cozy” comes close. We think this word perfectly captures what we strive for. The Nest provides a cozy retreat for a couple or solo traveler. It can also accommodate a third adult/child on a sofa bed (1 x set up fee of $25).
Sunnyland voted BEST neighborhood in Bellingham by the Cascadia Weekly. Our neighborhood, while not fancy, is funky, artsy, and low-key! That is why we love it. A few things that put us on the "best" neighborhood list are: Trader Joe's (groceries), Kulshan Brewery (best IPA), The Home Skillet (voted best breakfast), & the Sunnyland Stomp (Neighborhood Art Walk in July).
  • The Nest was an incredibly welcoming place to arrive to - warm and well-appointed. We particularly appreciated Netflix on the TV and the warming stove.

    Elizabeth2014-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a warm, welcoming environment from the stairway to the cozy, clean abode. Everything was thought through from the bottle of wine welcome, to the bathrobes, slippers, coffee, etc. the bed was excellent, with, sky lights, the decorative fireplace heater, and night lights. It was delightful. We felt at home.

  • What a great place! Very cozy, clean and comfortable. My son and I came for a soccer camp and loved staying there. If he ends up wanting to go to Western Washington University we will be back. Convient to resturants and a really quite and safe neighborhood.

  • I can't say enough wonderful things about Keri and the Nest. The nest itself is so lovely and cozy (and fit three very comfortably) and it's clear that a lot of thought went into creating a comfortable and eclectic space. Keri is an absolute A+++ host! She was the sweetest, going above and beyond in helping us discover all that Bellingham has to offer. We had an absolutely fabulous stay here, and would not hesitate to come back.

    Nicole2014-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I absolutely adored Keri and Ant's place. The decor and space was super charming and created a cozy feel in the studio. They also provided all the necessary amenities, which we greatly appreciated. The hot tub was an added bonus as well, a wonderful way to relax. Although we didn't have the privilege of meeting Keri and Ant as they were out of town, they were quick to reply with any questions I had. Their host, Dawn was super accommodating as well with all my needs and questions. I would highly recommend their place to anyone and we hope to return in the future.

    Shawna2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very clean and charming. Great vibe going with the unique decorative treasures. Host was very thoughtful and left local cookies and a bottle of wine for us to enjoy during our stay. Great location to restaurants and bars in downtown area. We'd love to stay here again!

    Karl2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and beautiful space-intimate, cozy, with rich and comforting details. Ant and Keri have really thought of everything in their place, and it felt like a true home on the road. We would highly recommend the Nomad's Nest to anyone looking for a restorative, peaceful, and happy base from which to explore beautiful Bellingham.

    Chris2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was truly great-we felt so welcomed. They really thought of all of the little details that make stay comfortable-toiletries, coffee, even wine. The place was perfect for a couple, very comfortable and lovely. The hot tub was great for a quick dip and we walked into town-easily to all restaurants and brew pubs.

The "Aloha Suite" is the name we have given our guest room attached to the south end of our garage. It is a separate building near our home and shop buildings. The room's decor is tropical, with, we hope, the spirit of "aloha" present.
When our home was being built, we lived in the "Aloha Suite", a separate space on the south end of our garage. Since we moved into our home, the suite has been a haven for many guests.(URL HIDDEN)In the main room there are: a comfortable queen sized bed, reading chair, small dining table and chairs, bookshelves with reading material of local and travel interest, yoga mat, and TV with DISH satellite channels (and instructions), a Blu-ray player(URL HIDDEN) In the bathroom there is a shower; and towels and robes are provided. The "kitchenette": This nook in the corner of the main room contains a small refrigerator/freezer, glasses and dishes, basic food preparation items, electric tea kettle, "personal" blender, a choice of two coffee makers, a wide slot toaster, and a microwave. It is not a true kitchen equipped for lots of cooking and dish washing. We are happy to provide the use of our oven and to wash your dishes as needed. There is a laundry sink in the garage for washing large items. We have a barbecue grill on the porch that you may use. It is possible to move the furniture to accommodate a sleeping pad for another person or a baby bed. We have space outside for pitching a tent as well. On request, we can provide an iron and ironing board. We also have a selection of movies and board games you are welcome to borrow.
We live in a quiet, wooded rural area on a road with five homes and nice neighbors. We do get fog and deer crossing the roads, so be alert, especially at night. Please look over the detailed instructions to get here, as GPS may not bring you right to our driveway. We are a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Bellingham and several other communites-Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, and Deming. We have cell phone coverage here, but if you don't for some reason, you are welcome to use our land line for calls. (Currently T-Mobile coverage is "iffy.")

  • The suite was nicely decorated. Terry went to the effort of baking cookies and made us feel very welcome. The suite is in a very nice country setting, surrounded by a lovely garden. And a very reasonable price!

  • Very quiet, secluded, clean and reliable. The bed is super comfortable and you have a lovely view of the garden and greenery out the windows. Lots of light. Or shut the blinds and catch up on your sleep. I stayed a few days to work on deadline to finish a writing project. It was quiet and comfortable. I had plenty of space. I made coffee and relaxed too. Terry was super friendly and accommodating providing snacks and taking care of my dishes. Highly recommended!

Lots of light, open studio walkable to downtown Bellingham. Trader Joe's, several restaurants and 5+ breweries within walking distance. The studio is located on the back of our house, separate entrance, and does share a wall with our home. I live here with my three teenagers. There will likely be some family related noise during the day. Things tend to be fairly quiet between 10 pm and 7 am. Pizza oven and fire pit available for use upon request if available. 2 bikes available for cruising.
Our home is in the Sunnyland neighborhood. Older homes, lots of pedestrian and bicycle activity. Normal neighborhood noises.
  • Great location, nice and quiet. Very clean, bed is very comfortable. Loved the layout of the studio. Gas fireplace was a nice warm touch. Judy was very friendly and great with communication. Would definitely stay here again.

  • This space was exactly as advertised - very bright, clean and comfortable, with all of the amenities advertised. Check-in could not have been easier. Highly recommended.

  • jody's space is a clean, bright, happy area - with lots of elbow room. the bed is wonderfully firm (or 'just right' as goldilocks would say), the towels were plentiful and fluffy, and there are two nice lounge chairs to enjoy in the back hard. we found it a very peaceful place to vacation in bellingham.

    Harriet2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's place is super great! The location is fantastic for walking to downtown, parking was easy, and the space was lovely. We want to come back in winter so we can use the cool fireplace!!

  • Great place in Bellingham. The studio was clean, spacious, and in a nice quiet area. Perfect for me to get to the AAI for my glacier course.

    Evan2018-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jody's place is a sweet, modern studio perfectly located for exploring Bellingham. An amazing produce market and brewery w/ rotating food trucks are a quick walk away, as is downtown. Jody was super communicative and helpful. I would definitely stay at her studio again.

    Beth2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is lovely and stylish. I stayed for about 6 weeks and was able to make it feel like home. Jody responded quickly to any questions or requests and the kitchen had nearly everything you'd need to make all your meals in if that's what you are looking for. The home is located about a 5 minute drive from downtown Bellingham and in good weather it would be a lovely walk or bike ride. Very close to Trader Joe's and several good restaurants are nearby (I recommend Wanida Thai). It was very quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended!!

    Cordelia2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Heather is a great hostess and her place is amazing. It's very clean and cozy, has a hot tub, and a memory foam mattress.

    Ariana2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is so well laid out and feels like home. Nice big bathroom, living and eating space and a cozy bed. Big windows that look out onto the inviting backyard with outdoor sofas and a fire-pit and hot tub. Convenient location to WWU and downtown. Great communication. I look forward to staying again.

  • Heather was a great hostess! She had the hot tub heated up for us before we arrived, and the room is stocked with anything you might need while you're away from home :) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

    Victoria2016-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • This backyard paradise is all you need! The ready to go hot tub and fire pit was exactly what we needed for an excellent and chillaxing Friday night! Also, the bed was super comfy!

    Eva2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed for just one night but Heather went out of her way to help us in any way she could. Place was exactly as described, communication was excellent and being our dog being welcome was a great plus!

    Arielle2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great space! Central location in the city, but quiet country-like setting. It was just what we needed for us and our 2 dogs while visiting family for the holiday weekend. Didn’t get a chance to try out the hot tub, but it was ready. Rental shares courtyard with the main house. Hosts were very welcoming but also respected privacy.

Please visit Wikipedia to learn more about the benefits of forest bathing and the Reversible Destiny Foundation. The treehouse has a fully functional Kitchen with propane stove and oven. • Hands down would come back and stay at Michelle & Peter's homes! They are so beautifully crafted and secluded for a perfect getaway! Highly recommend staying at the tree house if you get a chance! It was very easy to communicate with them and they give spot on directions.

    Emily2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cozy, thoughtful getaway. We followed the directions exactly and they were right on. The bed is SO comfortable and there are lots of snacks! Bring your own games and have a blast. The road would be best handled with a larger vehicle, but my Accord managed fine. Thanks for having us!

    Emily2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Treehouse, couldn't have asked for a better quiet getaway. Michelle and Peter have outdone themselves with the setup. Would have liked to stay another day!

    Sean2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Really amazing liitle place.

    Christopher2018-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved our getaway at the treehouse. It was so so peaceful. The treehouse is roomy and very cozy!

    Katie2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in the treehouse. It was secluded up a beautiful drive, and the creek and birds were all we could hear. The big bed is VERY soft, and the additional bed is firm, so you can choose what suits you. The book collection is thoughtful and interesting, the toy collection is perfect. And the instruments were a great touch, (that harp!). We were really pleased to find local fresh eggs, in the fridge, too. The massage table folded up in the corner was an added surprise, too! The design for the wood fire place is so thoughtful and efficient. There is a small window above the stairs that lets the heat rise right into the living space and bedroom making it so cozy. The wood details through the place where captivating. Twinkle lights and remote control candles were all nice touches, too. I was hoping to try the unique bath, but I didn't adjust to the (very mild) smell of the compost toilet, so I skipped the bath. The oven couldnt be used during my stay, but Michelle was a great host who was super quick to respond AND resolve anything so I'm confident those details will be perfected in time for the next guest. (We only stayed 1 night, so we didn't care to have them addressed during our time there.)

    Whitney2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to one of Michelle and Peter's properties, and it won't be the last! We enjoyed every moment we spent out in these well appointed cabins. The quiet and peaceful atmosphere are always what we are searching for when in need of a refresh from everyday life. Thanks again! I can't wait for our next stay!

    Lindsey2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect place for an escape into the woods! The Tree House is well built and provides the comfort of home in an off-grid space. We stayed in the middle of winter and were pleased with how warn the space remained, even when it was snowing. The forest is gorgeous and peacefuly, so this is a great place to unwind and recover from the stress of everyday life. The hosts were also very responsive and allowed us the privacy we were looking for. The only thing I would mention to watch out for is the undeveloped road that leads to the place. It is long and parts of it are full of those pesky PNW potholes. The place is also pretty far off the map, so don't trust GPS. Thankfully, the hosts provided great directions in the house manual. All in all, I highly recommend this place!

A comfy bedroom, colorful sitting room, and private entrance in our home's daylight basement.
You get the full daylight basement (please note that there are twelve stairs down to your rooms) -- a room with a queen size bed, and a second room with a comfortable reading chair and a small table for working. The furnishings are colorful and the walls feature professional photography, including a large canvas photo of Mt. Baker to gaze at while relaxing in bed. You'll have plenty of space and privacy. You have a private entrance directly from the backyard, or feel free to use the shared front door entrance as well. We provide coffee, tea, and wifi! While you are welcome to park out back in the alleyway and use your own entrance through the backyard, we invite you (and even recommend) to use the front door, as it can be dark and sometimes slick on the back deck. We DO NOT recommend going around the side of the house as it can be quite slippery there. So please feel free to come and go through the front or back as you like. We are a non smoking household but smoking outside is fine. There is a bathroom upstairs with shower and bath. This bathroom is shared with the family. Kitchen with full utensils, microwave and so on. Herbs, spices etc which you are more than welcome to use. We are a friendly trio of husband, wife and teen daughter. Oh, and three cats! We work from home so we are about (upstairs) working during the day. In the evening we are about playing games, cooking dinner, watching a movie, or reading a book and you're welcome to join us. We think this is a lovely and clean home but please be aware that, at this price it IS a vibrant, wabi-sabi, working family home and not a hotel! The backyard just outside of your space is more meadow than manicured for the sake of the birds and other ecological reasons. Sunnyland is a great, quiet residential neighborhood within a 15 minute walk from downtown Bellingham. We have the city's BEST breakfast joint for potatoes, eggs, pork chilli, toast and coffee (Homeskillet is the name) and a fun brew pub (Kulshan Brewing); both are within three blocks of our house as is Trader Joe's. Walk from downtown in 15 minutes, or there's a bus that comes within four blocks. Need a ride to the airport? We can probably get you there in time and in style! $15 extra. Just ask in advance to be sure.

  • Phil and Lola literally left the door wide open for me. The bed was very comfortable, all other amenities were great, and the best part was the glass of wine we shared. A brief but memorable stay in Bellingham.

  • The Host's were very accommodating and welcoming. The accommodation was as described in the listing, and we would say very well decorated and cozy, especially the big red comfy chair!!! We would definitely use this AIRBNB listing again for visits to the Bellingham area. The facility is very convenient to downtown and the Western Washington University.

    Joe & Dee,2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Phil & Lola provide a very comfortable experience by generously opening up their home for guests. This was the perfect place to stay for a brief overnight trip to visit a student @ WWU.

    Clover2016-08-23T00:00:00Z

Gorgeous modern studio in a forested setting, this is a unique space with thoughtful design. Seashore and mountain trails are right outside the door, & the Studio is a ten minute drive from Bellingham. Our special place has offered a base for adventure, rejuvenation and re-connection and provided "Il Dolce Far Niente" - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing. Meeting accurate expectations is important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you!
Note: Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you! The Seaside Forest Studio shares the property with our home, and began as an artist's studio, every aspect custom designed. From the loft bed surrounded by windows, to the fully equipped kitchen, slate-tiled shower and red brick floors, everything was added with careful thought. This is a unique space! The Studio is 512 square feet with an added 60 feet in the sleeping area above. There is a queen-sized bed in a hanging loft, best for those comfortable climbing a ladder up and down, to sleep surrounded by windows and trees on all sides. There is also a Euro-lounger/sofa in the main room that folds into a comfortable full size bed, with a memory foam topper. The main room has a window seat, as well as a custom reading nook with games for all ages stored below. Peter's handmade beautiful, live-edge cedar table seats four (five, if you'd like). The kitchen is fully equipped with sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, and cooking implements. The bath has a full shower, beautifully tiled. The studio has both electric heat and a wood stove. There are two entryways, with a curved wood deck at the front entrance (and a large granite boulder to sit on as well). Parking is just outside the back door. We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Studio reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. You'll eat at Peter's table, hang your coat on a fir tree we found in our woods, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, see our art on the walls, sleep in a loft built by a dear friend, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. A short walk down the driveway or steep beach trail offers views of both Chuckanut and Pleasant Bays (we live on a point, so there is water on both sides). Just up a winding brick path, you'll find the hot tub (older design, very simple) behind our house, on a deck under tall fir trees with peekaboo views of the water. Our property is a haven for wildlife: the studio is surrounded by a forest that's home to many kinds of birds, including raptors, owls, and songbirds. Raccoons and deer wander through, and we're close to the seashore where seals swim, herons squawk, and crabs scuttle under eelgrass forests. The Studio shares the forest with our home, so we're available for questions and concerns. Our house is situated on a knoll overlooking the water, while the studio is in the forest just below. The two structures are separated by a driveway and woods, out of sight of each other. We do share a common driveway, our cars blocked from the Studio's view by a neatly stacked woodpile. The Studio has many windows (with blinds), and we do drive and/or walk past the Studio when coming & going, . The Seaside Forest Studio is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want unique accommodation in a beautiful natural setting.
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on this forested trail overlooking the sea. Paddling west in a kayak you'll reach Chuckanut Island in 20 minutes. Our family have been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy, for years. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and explore an island in the same day!
  • We had good communication before arriving, a visit from Peter, wonderful supply of delicious coffee, and the environment was extremely inviting.

    Becky2015-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place stay. Peter and Aimee are great people and the guest house was a truly special place. The architecture and detail in the rooms are fantastic, the kitchen is well equipped, everything inside was absolutely spotless. The property is absolutely beautiful. The house is a great example of how to tastefully integrate modern life with our connection to nature. Great place to come if you want a weekend getaway or have a project for a few days that needs complete focus and a little zen.

    Eric2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect, cozy little getaway in an area with lots to explore. The studio is very cool and made for a great spot for my wife and I to spend a couple of quiet days decompressing after our wedding in Seattle. Aimee and Peter provided a ton of great information about the area prior to our arrival, and we really enjoyed our stay. The only downside was that the nearby train was louder than expected when it passed by at night, but we would still definitely stay here again.

    Matt2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I spent 3 nights at the Chuckanut Seaside Forest Studio, and we highly recommend it! The apartment is well designed and spacious with all necessary amenities. Beautiful mountain hikes are a 5-minute walk from the apartment, and Mt. Baker is ~1 hour drive away. The apartment is also a 5-minute drive away from Bellingham. Aimee was very welcoming and gave us detailed information on hikes and other activities in the area.

    Sam2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, with every attention to detail. I will stay here again!

    Matthew2015-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter are amazing people and The Studio was the perfect place for a getaway weekend with my girlfriend. The space is simply gorgeous. Perfect size for a couple. Aesthetically pleasing. So much attention to detail: architecture, design, decor and function. The hanging loft, wood stove and hot tub really complete the ambiance. And the surrounding property is just... wow! Waking up to a view of the madronas and evergreens from the 360 degree glass windows in the loft was just spectacular. Our warm hosts clearly respect the beauty of their surroundings and enjoy sharing it with others. They opened their home and hearts to us. Hands down, one of the best experiences I have had on AirB&B. Mad respect for Aimee and Peter :)

    Kiran2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter were really welcoming and the studio is just as described - a perfect little getaway. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the walks nearby (Aimee has put together an amazing guide for your use) and the hot tub amongst the trees (sadly it was a bit too cloudy for stars!) We would definitely book again if we find ourselves in the Bellingham area.

    Imogen2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was the nicest week long getaway I could have imagined. The studio was exactly as pictured, the Aimee and Peter were very thorough with their guest guide and description of the cabin. We arrived on Monday and everything was ready for us. There was a fire started in the fireplace (which had very detailed instructions!) and all the amenities were taken care of and ready for us. We had anything we would need, even soap/shampoo, towels, utensils, cookware, a stove... It was perfect. I can't think of anything that would have made this trip better. The views from the property and Chuckanut Drive were breathtaking. I really enjoyed the drive past the bay each day to get into town. This was the best trip and I am sad to have left. I did NOT want to go home!

Quiet house in the Lettered Streets Neighborhood of Bellingham. There's no children or other family here, so it's fairly serene. Private room in my tidy little 3 bedroom home (built 1895). Full-size bed. 1 full bathroom and an additional toilet in the laundry room. Television/cable/wifi/guest micro laptop/laundry/kitchen/free parking. Hot tub. 3 blocks to bus lines and about a 15 minute walk to downtown Bellingham. 2 indoor cats and a bit of a library vibe.
  • Simon is awesome.

  • Staying at Simons was beyond excellence in all categories. An amazing host, incredible home, excellent location and so much more.

    Jay2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Simon has a sweet little house in a nice neighborhood on the west side of town. Very clean bedroom and house. Definitely a good choice for a simple stay over. Easy to find and the key was right where he said it would be. Thank you Simon!

    Sara2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Simon's home is clean, the room conveniently located on the first floor with close access to the bathroom. The temperature of the room, cozy bedding, and available extra covers made sleeping really comfortable and a welcome relief from the windy/rainy days we were visiting. Even though we didn't use the available computer and TV in the room, these are great amenities. Simon's communication's were timely, and he left lights on outside and inside when he wasn't home which made finding his home and entering all the easier. The location is great, very close to downtown Bellingham, quick by car and an easy 30 minute walk.

    Teresa2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Simon is very friendly and we enjoyed talking with him. He gave us lots of tips on visiting Bellingham. Very clean place, cute cats, and the hot tub is a great amenity! Convenient location. Definitely recommend.

A cheerful bedroom with a Queen Tempurpedic bed and private bathroom. Relax on sunny patio in lovely yard or curl up with a book in cozy living room. Excellent location: Walk to downtown, waterfront, restaurants, and parks from this character home.
Welcome to Bellingham, the "city of subdued excitement." Thankfully, my neighborhood is pretty subdued indeed. I hope you enjoy this quiet, safe, block and my handsome home, built in 1900. Cheerful bedroom with cozy living room and big open kitchen. The well-landscaped, private backyard has a nice patio for dining. But if you want to get out and about, this is GREAT location. On the busline to WWU. Only 1 mile to downtown for local shopping, season farmer's market on Saturdays, and plenty of great restaurants. Less than a mile to Bellingham waterfront for superb sunsets and nice walks. Several parks and a few places to eat within walking distance. Or jump in your car and head up the Mt Baker Hwy for some skiing (they boast the most snow of any mountain in N America) or stunning hiking near an active volcano. If you need a big city fix, Vancouver, BC is only an hour away, too!
  • Jodi was a gorgeous and generous host. Very welcoming. Yes it is close to downtown and yes it is a very comfortable bed! Her home is warm and cosy. She was so helpful in offering me and my big suitcase a lift to the station. I highly recommend staying with Jodi.

  • From communication to accommodation, Jodi made our brief trip to Bellingham an absolute pleasure. The house was in a great neighborhood and walkable to downtown; everything inside was clean and welcoming. And the bed, oh my the bed: it was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. No joke. Thanks again, Jodi!

  • Jodi has a lovely, warm house which she shared with us graciously--good books, variety of breakfast food, good recommendation of a local bistro we could walk to.

    Judy2014-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jodi was truly a perfect host. She is flexible, her home is absolutely impeccable and beautifully decorated, and the clean, allergen-free house is peaceful and relaxing. The coffee and light breakfast fare choices were perfect as well. I will definitely stay here again, as the location is also very convenient.

    Nancy2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you very much to Jodi for her friendly welcome and for sharing her lovely home.

    Frank2014-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • I could not have asked for anything more from my first Airbnb experience. Jodi's space was simply beautiful, inviting, clean, efficient and in a great location. The bed was (Website hidden by Airbnb) promised! The appliances and facilities were all lovely and in great condition.....great shower too! Fun colors and textures throughout house and stunning yard! The details were all around...from the small desk in the corner of the room to the fresh cut flowers everywhere. The binder with information about local attractions and eateries was helpful and got me to a fun destination for a bite of dinner and glass of wine. Jodi made excellent coffee for us and had a variety of breakfast items available. From the moment of booking, I had great communication from Jodi. The directions and home access matched the description perfectly. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!

Peaceful garden room and private bathroom in Birchwood, a northern neighborhood characterized by large property lots and abundant green space. Ten minutes from downtown, seven minutes from the airport and hospital. Close to Mount Baker Highway, 33 miles from Canadian border. Large landscaped yard and deck with adjacent Jacuzzi hot tub.
My home is located in the center of a vibrant and diverse garden. Half of the house was built in 1930. Your bathroom is located in this older portion. In 2006, the house was shingled with cedar siding. An addition, containing the guest bedroom, was constructed in 2008. I have had the great fortune to travel to many countries and have brought back art and furniture from each. These treasures decorate the shared spaces and I will talk about them to anyone who will listen!
Sehr empfehlenswert!

  • Abby’s place was lovely! Great communication and we loved the hot tub! She had breakfast snacks and offered coffee or tea. Her home has lots of artistic touches that make it really fun to look around. Thanks Abby!

  • We had a very pleasant stay at Abby's house. The room was clean and nice. The hot tub was warm and inviting, as was the cozy living room. Abby was very nice and helpful. The coffee in the morning was a welcome pick-me-up.

    Charles2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Abby was warm, friendly, and responsive to communications. The bed was comfy, the room was quiet, and we slept like logs. I especially appreciated Abby's offer to use the hot tub. We arrived slightly late, the tub was hot, and that set us up for a great night's sleep. In the morning, she brewed a big pot of coffee and offered us a light breakfast. For us, it was healthy and delicious - perfect - and off we went.

Cozy cottage offers 1 single bedroom and use of pleasant outdoor deck in view of lush garden. Close to downtown & bus line, within walking distance of shops, parks, harbor.
Bio-intensive garden sanctuary with a pleasant deck setting to enjoy. House is located on a main artery of Lettered Streets neighborhood, close to downtown, and local parks, nearby lakes, hiking trails, waterfront as well as shopping, nightlife, and a wide selection of restaurants.
Lettered Streets neighborhood is largely a mix of Victorians and bungalows with all eras of construction represented. Some charming gardens to view on walks. Less than 15 minute walk to downtown and Marine Park area.
  • Very good place for an overnight. Street parking seems safe.

  • Lovely home, during this season it's a shared space so not private. Small twin bed, comfortable. Guest room shared a wall with hers and we shared the bathroom next to the guest room. Rest of the house is fairly open layout and it's very nice, just not private. She was very quiet, respectful, and thoughtful and her dog is wonderful.

  • Koelle is a super interesting personality who has lived. She shares her cute house with 2 very snuggly dogs. Her garden would be amazing in summer, I imagine. A short walk to sea views, a longer (?2km) walk into town.

    Kerry2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • It's always a pleasure staying with Koelle. It's like staying with a dear friend you have known all your life.

    Peter2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle was a wonderful and generous host! She was easy to coordinate with (I had a last minute reservation) and super helpful in helping me orient to Bellingham and her home. During my stay we shared authentic conversation and I was also able to enjoy quiet time on the deck overlooking the abundant garden. Her house is an easy 10 min walk to town to grab some food or catch a show at Mt Baker Theater. A short and lovely stay! I'll be back!

    Sarah2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle made me feel so welcome in her beautiful home! I was greeted with french press coffee and yummy muffins in the morning. She was a wealth of information about what was going on in town and gave great advice for finding my own place in Bellingham. Highly recommended!

  • This is a great stay! The location is great- in walking distance to many attractions. The place is clean and quite- with everything you would need. Koelle is an incredible host! She had great recommendations and was incredibly kind. I would stay here again.

  • The room is much smaller than it looks. It said it was good for 6 people, but definitely better for 3 or 4. But it’s in a great location!

    Ariana2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and quiet. This was the perfect place for me to stay for my weekend getaway. Bed was very comfortable, cute balcony porch, and great location close to nearby restaurants and shops. Easy access to the room and the perfect amount of privacy to enjoy a glass of wine and catch up on some reading.

  • Laurie was extremely hospitable and welcoming a group of 11 Ragnar runners. Her place was perfect to accommodate us all. She reached out before our arrival to find out which snacks we like and set it all up beautifully. She’s easily reachable and very quick to respond to all messages. Thank you so much, Laurie! The group loved staying with you.

    Sophie2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room! Comfortable space with everything we needed. We had a little trouble with check in and noisy neighbors at night, but otherwise a good experience.

    Megan2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Laurie's. The bed was great, the room was clean, and the deck has a great view! Air mattresses aren't the greatest, but overall a nice place to stay in Bellingham.

  • My mom and I were in Bellingham for orientation at WWU. Instead of going to a hotel, we decided to get an AirBNB. It was a wonderful stay. When we got there, we were greeted by Laurie who showed us the room. Although it only has one bed, the couches are really comfortable and easy to sleep on. There were drinks, snacks, and fruit waiting for us. My mom loved the pears. Laurie was incredibly friendly and helpful when we asked about local restaurants and things to see. Overall it was a great stay!

    Michael2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely LOVED our stay at Laurie's place and can not recommend it enough! Large, spacious studio, very nice deck with chairs, super cute, the list is endless! We did a bike ride from Seattle to Bellingham for the RSVP bike ride and were super tired. Laurie greeted us promptly and made sure we were comfortable right away. The snacks, drinks and everything she provided were perfect! It is definitely the best AirBnB we have stayed at and hope to stay with Laurie again! Thank you Laurie!

Our place is walking distance to Historic Fairhaven, Western Washington University, parks, restaurant dining, a local brewery, art and culture, and great views. You’ll love our place because of the gardens, the peacefulness tranquility. It is a delight of both flowers, vegetables and birds. The Garden Suite has a cozy cottage rural feeling within a quiet neighborhood, and the location offers all that a small village can, with a city nearby.
Our space is cozy, about 200 sq. ft. Warning for people over 6'4", there are low ceilings, you may have to duck in the doorways. The Garden Suite is comfortable for one or two people. The bed is a cotton-filled, slightly smaller full futon with an ergonomically sprung frame and has an adjustable head rest. A memory foam mattress pad and a down comforter in the winter will be cozy for your night's rest. The living space includes a bedroom-sitting area, kitchen, entry way-eating and work area and a bathroom. Although attached to the main house, the Garden Suite has a private entrance and overlooks a quiet garden space. The birds are a joy anytime of year. We do appreciate a quiet home environment, with that said, Derek is a working musician and we love to spend time with our grandkids, so you might hear acoustic music and laughter through the walls. Although our space accommodates two, if you have more than two adults or children, please let us know so we can provide extra sleeping gear. There will be an extra person charge of $10 each person after 2, children under 12 are free of charge. The furnace is regulated in the main house, and provides heat to the suite, however we do provide an extra space heater and fan for your comfort. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and we provide breakfast items such as, coffee, a selection of teas, granola, milk, juice and fruit. Please ask if there is something you need for cooking that is not provided. There is no TV, a CD/ radio player is provided. The Garden Suite is next door to the Adorable Fairhaven Studio apartment so we can accommodate larger groups with our neighbors. If you need more space for friends and family let us know and we'll try and accommodate you. We do have a no pet policy, but if you must bring your pet along, please contact us before your visit. A pet fee will apply, $10. Please use the back yard garden spaces as they were your own. The back yard has quiet places to relax, and can be used at any time. We generally use the front gardens for our own use, and occasionally will be in the back working in the garden areas. A small garden patio outside the suite is for your use. Our house is smoke free and we would appreciate if you smoke outside only. Thank you!
The Southside, Happy Valley, Fairhaven neighborhood offers it's residents and guests many enjoyable and convenient amenities. Walking distance to the Alaskan Ferry terminal, Greyhound bus and train terminal, Western Washington University, Fairhaven Village, Taylor Dock and Boulevard Park, the Interurban trails of Chucknut Mt.(for biking and hiking), Haggen grocery store, and several restaurants and boutiques. Despite all this activity, our neighborhood is quiet, friendly and colorful, for walking, jogging or relaxing. The birds are plentiful, look for the bird book in the suite.
  • A charming space centrally located in Fairhaven. I would love to stay again, if I did not now reside in Bellingham!

    Marriah2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect. The garden suite was exactly how it appears by photo, but the added touches throughout really put it over the top. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Bellingham.

    Keely2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The garden and yard is lovely and the neighborhood is quiet. it would be an easy walk to downtown Fairhaven. The bed is comfortable and the apartment has a funky kind of charm if that appeals. I enjoyed my stay very much.

A lovely, private, light-filled room in our home, with a private entrance, bath, and basic kitchenette. It's in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown, backing up to green space, and steps away from hiking and biking trails.
Zen Oasis is a large bedroom with a private entrance and bath in the back of our single-story family home which borders Whatcom Falls Park. It is clean, bright, comfortable, and simply furnished with a queen bed, chair, small table and chairs, and dresser drawers. There is a private deck with two chairs for lounging in the fresh outdoors where you can listen to the birds and nearby Whatcom Creek and waterfalls. It is best suited for shorter stays of up to one week. There is no access to the main house and no cooking facilities, but there is a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, and dishes and utensils for take-out or ready-made meals in the room. Tea and coffee are provided. Zen Oasis is a great place for: - solitude, respite and communing with nature - a comfortable, clean and convenient stay for business or travel - proximity to walking and biking trails - a quiet night's sleep after a busy day of exploring. Zen Oasis may not be great for: - children under 5 years old - late-sleepers (there is a skylight in the room which makes for light-filled mornings.)
Whatcom Falls Heights is the perfect urban neighborhood - close to downtown (just a 10 minute drive or 30 minute bike ride), but with the quiet of the woods and park to make you feel you're far away. Enjoy miles of walking trails through Whatcom Falls Park - the jewel of the city - with a park entrance just a short walk down the street. Bring your bike and explore the Railroad Trail system which runs through the park and takes you all the way downtown in one direction (about three miles each way) or over to Lake Whatcom in the other direction (about a mile).
  • This place is the best! The location is great. The skylight is great. Reusable Kurig cups! Communication was easy. Thank you for everything!

    Rebecca2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place hit the spot after a long day of hiking and city traffic getting past Seattle. Communication with host was fluent and information thorough. Had no trouble finding the place and settling in. As for the space, it's delightful. The lack of tv was refreshing. I caught myself leaving the screen slide door open to let the fresh air in and also listen to the waterfall that is near by. The skylight had a nice effect at night too. If I'm ever swinging through town again, I would love to stay here again and explore the area. There's a map of the local park and local info booklet for your convenience too!

    Carlos2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you!

    Erik2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really incredible little spot. I LOVED the nature walks that were steps away from the room!

    Elizabeth2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fabulous. It was a great place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring Bellingham. My favorite thing about the Zen Oasis was being able to walk to the Whatcom Falls which is practically in the backyard. Kirsten and Jeff put a lot of thought and attention into the Zen Oasis. I will definitely stay again.

    Crystal2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a relaxing place to stay! With the park so close and so many trails near the falls it was a perfect location to get some exercise and relaxation in before and after work.

    Louis2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • It was all we expected, very clean and quiet. Slept well, although having a way to close the skylight blinds would have been nice. It is a bit of a haul for luggage on a gravel path - wheeled bags have to be carried around to the back entrance. That said, it is Lovely, peaceful and we would definitely stay again.

    Jane2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten & Jeff's place is a nice, quiet neighborhood. I loved being so close to Whatcom Falls Park. I walked the trails both days. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Julie

Beautiful Fairhaven, one mile to WWU, located across the street from the bay and walking trail to Boulevard Park and Lake Padden. Next door to restaurants, shopping and the grocery. Bus stops within a block, I also have a garage for your bikes. Beautiful view of the bay and islands from living room and deck. Price includes two people. I allow dogs under 50 pounds at $10 per night each. Check them in as additional guests. I love hosting, come stay! Mt. Baker and Canada are close by for skiing.
As my guest you will be welcome to use the kitchen for meals. The living room is available for you to relax and enjoy the company of friends and family if you desire. Weather permitting, the deck with its beautiful views and bbq are available for your enjoyment too.
Fairhaven is an historic community on Bellingham Bay. It has a vibe similar to Friday Harbor. All the fun without the hassle of a ferry!
  • Marian's place is in a great location if you are arriving by train or bus; there is a local bus stop across from her condo, and it's a short walk to Fairhaven. Cafes, coffee shops, etc, nearby. Marian is a delightful and welcoming hostess and went all out to help me with transportation needs. Her little dog, Milo, kept me smiling. Highly recommend!

    Lisa2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Marian's place is just a few steps from the nicest neighborhood in Bellingham-- plus she is a fantastic host, communicative, helpful and super friendly!

    Carl2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Marian's place was a wonderful introduction to the airbnb world. She did everything to make us feel comfortable and at home. Her home is beautifully situated to enjoy the natural beauty of Bellingham as well as the charms of the Fairhaven neighborhood. Her wonder dog Milo was a bonus treat and accompanied our morning yoga stretches with his own exquisite down dog. When we return to Bellingham, we will make every effort to stay with Marian and Milo.

  • A cozy place to stay with a fantastic view. Location is great for a stay in Fairhaven.

    Bonnie2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Bellingham is always a perfect stay - the people, the area, the views. Marian made it just that much more lovely. She was kind and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home. Milo, was a wonderful puppy host, only adding to the experience. Thank you for having us!

    Leah2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Marian was very welcoming, sharing her nice space. Living room has an awesome view! I brought my two dogs, and they were welcomed and treated really well! This is the first time I rented a space that is shared with the owner (besides the bedroom and bath), and it worked out well.

    Jill2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Marian was a great host! Her place is in walking distance of downtown Fairhaven (with all the cute shops and restaurants) and the waterfront boardwalk (take a sunset stroll to Boulevard Park!)

    Alan2018-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Marion’s place is comfortable and clean. I woke to coffee in the morning and was able to sit on deck and watch the boats come and go in the harbor! Her place is located right near the heart of Fairhaven Village - great shops and restaurants within a stone’s throw. Marion is a pleasure - so accommodating and friendly - and her pup, Milo is a sweetie.

  • We enjoyed our stay at the "Garage Mahal" while visiting family in Bellingham. The neighborhood was quiet and the location was nicely situated for us to travel for groceries and activities around town. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of the apartment and appreciated the clean and comfortable living area. Thank you for a wonderful place.

  • This place was exactly what my parents were looking for! They came to town to visit and the place was centrally located, clean, and cozy. There was a small kitchen in the unit, along with a TV and plenty of storage space. Although it is located above the garage next to the main house, it felt very private. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends again!

Newly built tiny house finished in June 2015. Master loft sleeps 2 on the memory foam Queen mattress. Small loft has a foldout single-sleeper foam pad that fits a shorter-sized adult which we make up into a bed upon request, otherwise it remains a reading/lounge area with no sheets. Kitchen has a large toaster oven, (can fit a pizza) 2 burner cook top, all cooking utensils you'll need, small fridge, eating nook, couch, bathroom, TV w/Netflix, outdoor patio, fire pit, bbq & more!
Queen memory foam mattress is located in main loft, and there is a single sleeper foam pad in the smaller reading-nook loft. This single sleeping spot will only be made up into a bed with sheets for a rental of two people IF REQUESTED beforehand. Otherwise it will be set up for lounging and reading during your stay, as we will assume the 2 guests are sharing queen bed. Kitchen has a mini fridge with a freezer, 2 burner stove top, toaster oven, coffee maker, french press and all the plates, pots & pans, silverware and mugs needed to make and enjoy your meals. We also have some spices, condiments and cooking extras in the kitchen that you are free to use. Couch and small dining area for two also located on main floor with kitchen. Propane BBQ, picnic table and fire pit on patio outside. Four different bikes are available to use during your stay, if you want to explore and walk or pedal around the island, and they are located in the Rubbermaid shed near the tiny house. *Want to visit the tiny house, but need more than 3 places to sleep? During the summer months we offer setting up our pop-up tent camper right next to the tiny house. This camper has 2 new foam mattress double beds, new flooring, new couch cushions, upholstery, and tent canvas. We provide the bed top sheet and pillows, you bring your own sleeping bags. Check out the camper photo towards the end of our listings pictures for details and send us a message if you'd like us to add it to your stay for an extra $65. a night. Please note, there is no bathroom in the camper, just the 2 beds and a sitting couch, but we'll set it up right near the tiny house to keep you close enough for any late night bathroom visits. On island food options: The main island store at the ferry landing is currently open Seven days a week, and serves food, beer and wine, and sells limited grocery items. The store is a fun place to sit at the bar and chat with local islanders, or sit outside in the beer garden on sunny days and watch the boats go by. There is also a small store at the Guemes Island Resort on the North tip of the island, that sells beer, wine, and alcohol, and limited food items (like frozen pizzas!) It is open daily from 9 - 7pm and is a 15 minute drive from the Tiny house.
Guemes is home to 650 full time year-round residents and has a wonderful island community. We have one main store on the island that provides amenities you may need like beer and wine, food items and gas right above the ferry landing. Open 7 days a week. There are two large grocery stores in Anacortes, and we recommend buying your food items at one of them before catching the ferry to Guemes. The Guemes Resort on North Beach also has a "tiny" store where you can find the best selection of beer and wine on the island. My husband and I both live and work through the woods just up the driveway from the Tiny House and usually will be home to answer any questions you have unless we have specified otherwise. We have a woodworking studio built using two 40' shipping containers and a screen printing studio on site, so keep in mind the random car will sometimes pass-by heading up to the main house during the day picking up deliveries or employees heading to work. This is infrequent but worth noting.
  • The tiny house was well stocked, very comfortable, and beautifully designed. We had everything we needed as well as fun extras like interesting books and movies. The location is very private and scenic. It's a good spot for a quiet getaway.

  • I had a great time staying at Tiny House. The hosts did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. It was a great experience and I'd gladly come back.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay in a tiny house for our mini-moon. The house had everything we needed and more during our relaxing two night stay. We enjoyed lounging in the reading nook and hammock as well as cooking and watching Netflix. Jessica and Carson were wonderful hosts and very attentive to our needs, especially when we clogged the toilet. We enjoyed hiking guemas mountain and eating lunch at the general store. We also took a day trip to Anacortes for a whale watching tour which was amazing. We hope to be back someday and maybe even buy our own tiny house!

    Nghiem2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely little space to run away to. Jessica and Carson have thought of everything, and the house is incredibly charming and cozy. The island is lovely and a easy escape from our hectic lives. Highly recommend!

    Adrian2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica and Carson provided an amazing first Airbnb experience for me. The house was masterfully built and everything was very clean and neat. The island was beautiful and provided a relaxing environment. I’ll definitely be back!

    Jarid2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Guemes Tiny House is everything you've wanted and more. Don't let the tiny in the name fool you. There is plenty of space here. Jessica and Carson have done so much to make it feel like a home away from home. The art is amazing, the bed is warm and comfy, the outside area felt like a forest fantasy, and everything in between was perfect. We hope to get the opportunity to stay again!

    Nick2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot to relax, slow down to island time, and catch up with a loved one!!!

    Michael2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a nice getaway. Guemes Island is quiet and beautiful and the tiny house truly feels like home while you are there.

Newly renovated one bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Fairhaven Historic District. Located two minutes walking to downtown amenities. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and privacy. Located above a quiet law office with private, coded access. On one side is a condo complex and on the other, a home converted into a micro brewery.
This a newly renovated historic building in the center of Old Fairhaven. Originally built in 1909, the building used to be part of the colorful history of Old Fairhaven Prostitution! In it's heyday, it was called "Anne's Palace" and owned by a madam named Anne Bronson. This apartment is small, perfect for two or three people. It starts getting cramped with four adults. Keep that in mind. Please let the host know if you will be needing the sofa bed. As this apartment is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
This home is in walking distance to urban trails, the Bellingham Amtrak Station, Community Boating Shed (for kayak and paddle board rentals), and all the wonderful Old Fairhaven downtown shops and restaurants, as well as the Farmer's Market. Please scroll all the way down to see the map and locations marked as points of interest. This apartment is located within walking distance to almost everything in Old Fairhaven. There are several listings, restaurants, and places of interest that have been listed; be sure to read about all the great places in Fairhaven and Bellingham! As this is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
  • We arrived after a rainy drive south from Canada and were met with everything we needed for a cozy night stay. Kristi took care of every detail from the hot cocoa for my daughter to coffee the next morning. We felt like we were sleeping in a treehouse with the wind howling. We also loved the close proximity to the small town of Fairhaven and found a great Mexican restaurant for take out food! Thank you Kristi!

    Lisa2016-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kristi's beautiful apartment was the perfect place to stay for our overnight trip to Bellingham. It was clean, comfortable, and located within walking distance to all of our favorites spots in Fairhaven. Kristi was an excellent host. She provided very detailed instructions on how to access the unit and while we never had to contact her, she made it very clear that she was available if there was anything we needed during our stay. We would definitely love to stay here again!

    Anna2016-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cute apartment was exactly how it was advertised -- and just what we needed as a place to stay while in town for a friend's wedding. Kristi was very accessible for all communication. The location was perfect -- close to historic Fairhaven with all the shops and cafes, and also to the entry to the Interurban trail for a beautiful pre-wedding jog. Bonus: Kristi left us some delicious coffee :) We would stay here again.

    Sarah2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, private and close to everything! Kristi has thought of what a guest might possibly need and made it available. Timely communication. We wished we had booked longer. Thank you Kristi!

    Shari2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • It's a cozy space in a private corner of a great, historic neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable. Great kitchen.

    Andrew2016-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is even nicer than the pictures. Cozy, peaceful and updated. Kristi left chocolates, coffee and biscotti for us, and made sure we had all the information we needed by e-mail and text - as well as through airbnb. The apartment is located in the perfect Fairhaven area - which is one of my favorites areas of Bellingham. Walking distance to galleries, shops, and some of the best restaurants! Perfect last minute getaway. Thank you Kristi!!

    Trieste2015-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Kristi couldn't have been nicer. I made a mistake in booking and needed another day. It was no problem. Anything we might have needed for our stay was provided. It's a great location in delightful Fairhaven.

Beautiful setting that provides easy access to all that Bellingham has to offer. In the city but feels like the country. Our spacious suite is the perfect getaway for a couple or individual. With a private entrance, the 2nd floor studio and bathroom (on lower level) provide a great place to call home while in Bellingham. The king bed is ultra comfortable and the studio is perfect for those that want more space and amenities than a hotel room or shared house.
Our above garage suite is beautifully decorated with super comfortable king bed and comforter. Large armoire for clothing. High speed internet, microwave/toaster oven, Keurig, french press, small fridge and freezer, iron board, dishes, pots & pans and more. Hot plate available upon request. We only allow up to two people, but if you have an infant, don't hesitate to check with us. Interaction with guests: We are a text message away, anytime for anything! We live in the main house, but value your privacy. Our Clean Unit Guarantee - We want our guests to know that we provide clean bed sheets, pillow cases, duvet cover, mattress pad and bathroom towels/cloths for every visitor. We personally clean all surfaces upstairs and in the bathroom prior to every guest and do not use a cleaning company. This is how we like places when we visit, so we feel our guests deserve the same treatment! The neighborhood: Centrally located to EVERYTHING...Right on the trail system that runs throughout Bellingham. Near St. Joseph's Hospital, Barkley Village, downtown Bellingham, WWU and easy access to the freeway north and south. You can be on the road (State Rte. 542) to Mt. Baker in about 2 minutes from our house. Check out the notebook in the suite for information about our area, local trails and great places to eat, drink and hang out. Our location is central whether driving, riding or walking. We are right on the interurban trail that takes you all over Bellingham. We are also only a few minutes from downtown and the I5 Freeway. We are local and know Bellingham very well! If you have questions don't hesitate to ask.
Our home is walking distance to Barkley Village, Whatcom Falls Park, Lake Whatcom and provides easy access to just about all of Bellingham. Though you drive up through a typical neighborhood, our area has a limited number of houses on large lots. Almost all the homes on our private driveway have at least 3/4 of an acre, so there is no one super close.
  • Beautifully decorated, spacious, clean, and peaceful retreat! All the amenities, including local Bellingham chocolate, and fresh flower to welcome me. Guest book of tips and instructions, including tips for local activities.

    Polly2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • My first experience at an Airbnb and a great first experience. Loved the privacy of the separate entrance and sleeping quarters. The room/ setting is just as described, clean, comfortable (bed was super comfy) and great personal touches. Locked ourselves out (oops) and Laura and Matt were graciously accommodating. Tip - keep key in lock box :) Thank you!

  • Matt's a friendly guy and the room is clean, quiet with a very comfy bed.

    Karsten2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem in Bellingham. Everything was as we expected and it was super great to be so close to everything we wanted to do. The bed is awesome and the communication with Matt was flawless! We will definitely be back!

    Lindsay2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! As this was my first time using AirBnb, I couldn't have been more pleased! Matt and Laura were fabulous and very accommodating, they gave a very detailed description of how to locate the property well in advance of our arrival and were there for any and all our needs. Words cannot explain how beautiful the property, suite and location is, my word...Outstanding!!!! If, rather when I travel to the Bellingham area, I will definitely request to stay at their beautiful home!! #highly recommended!

    Mark2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Bellingham! The place is surprisingly tucked away from the hustle and bustle because it is very close to downtown Bellingham and Fairhaven. I so enjoyed running on the trails behind the house in the morning. The place itself was so cute and nice. It was very stylish and just the right amount of space. Matt was very helpful and a great host.

    Zane2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very private , clean and comfortable accommodations in a nice country setting but close to everything in town. We will certainly come back to this perfect getaway. Also communications were prompt and clear. Dorine.

A unique house in downtown Historic Fairhaven which has been converted into a working micro-brewery. A block away from local amenities, including boutique shops & great restaurants. You can easily hop on to the inter-urban trail which links parks, fantastic hiking, biking & downtown Bellingham. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi & a tasty, craft ale is only a step away.
Our cozy home is also home to a small micro-brewery which is housed in shipping containers in the back yard. Guests are welcome to use the backyard which has a fire pit, or the patio upstairs which gets lots of sun to eat their meals. The detached garage has been converted into our taproom, so a tasty ale, created on site is never far away. The bedroom is in the back of the house. It is surprisingly quiet, so you won't be disturbed by patrons of the brewery. In fact, there is the constant gurgling sound of a running stream, which is actually our glycol system that is used to cool our beer and walk-in cooler. The kitchen is fully equipment, including a gas range so you can cook to your hearts delight. There is coffee and tea readily available too. The window above the kitchen sink looks out on to the front beer garden of the brewery. You can always create some privacy by closing the blinds. The dated bathroom has a shower tub, which is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, toothpaste, first aid kit and most importantly with a tub....soothing bubble bath! The lounge/living area is our biggest space. It receives a lot of light and looks out on to the front street, and a window faces the front beer garden. Again, there are blinds, curtains and sheer curtains to create more privacy for yourself, if you so desire. You can hear the murmur of conversations in the front beer garden. The comfy couch in the living room opens up into sleeper bed. Stairs go upstairs to our office space. There is a door that creates privacy for you downstairs; however, the house is a little squeaky, so you will hear foot steps upstairs as we access the space during office hours and occasionally in the evening to access our merchandise stock for the brewery. We only access the office space through the brewery, and never via your space downstairs.
Our micro-brewery home is located one block from downtown Historic Fairhaven. There are beautiful boutique shops just a stroll around the corner, and great restaurants with some excellent happy hours & food. Obviously, we think Stones Throw Brewery is the best place for a beer, but if you want wine or cocktails we love visiting the Black Cat. Access to the Inter-Urban Trail is across the road. You can bike south towards Fairhaven Park (5min), Arroyo Park (15-20min), Larrabee State Park (45min) or you can bike/walk north into downtown Bellingham which takes you out over the water along the Taylor Dock Board Walk and past Woods Coffee. Talk to us if you are interested in using a bike - we have one available for you. In the summer time the Community Boating Center is open and you can easily rent a paddle board/paddle boat for some fun sightseeing on Bellingham Bay. A block and a half away you will find our local grocery store, Haggens. Very convenient.
  • We had a wonderful time in Fairhaven at the Mircro-brewery. It is a great concept with the accommodation upstairs and stepping downstairs to enjoy great beer.

    Heather Narod2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay in Fairhaven! Nadine was a wonderful host

    Chelsea2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Fun to stay at micro brewery, nice big kitchen.

    Arthur2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was super cute! And the gal working at the brewery was super adorable and fun to talk to. The house was cozy and man that fireplace was delightful!!!!

    Karly2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We worked remotely from the bnb and taproom for a week while exploring Bellingham. Being situated just within Fairhaven's historic downtown was perfect - we could explore a new restaurant for every meal and easily walk to the waterfront and farmer's market. Having the taproom so close was very convenient and its early hours meant that it was quiet by the time we wanted to go to sleep (and we are not nightowls).

    Alex2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Want to be footsteps away from a brewery? Who doesn't?! Clean place seconds away from craft beer pure heaven.

    Matt2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible location just on the edge of Fairhaven! It is a perfect place for those who like beer, like Fairhaven, and also enjoy quiet. Although this room is attached to a brewery, I had no problem with noise on a Friday night! When I come back up to Bellingham, I absolutely plan on staying here again.

Our newly renovated Basement Studio is awesome for anyone that is looking for a clean, modern space close to downtown Bellingham. In the historic Lettered Streets neighborhood, walk to all the great breweries and restaurants. Although this house was built in the late 1800's... the studio is new, bright, and a perfect getaway. It has it all: King Size bed, a gorgeous walk-in shower, and a mud-room to store outdoor bikes, boards, skis, and kayaks. More photos coming soon!
This space has been 100% renovated! Every aspect is new, fresh, and clean. It is the bottom floor of a 3 story home that was built in 1886! The front door opens directly to the driveway, so there is no need to haul your luggage very far. Full kitchen is provided, with a full size stove, sink, and refrigerator. We also provide a Keurig coffee maker. and moderate cooking supplies. We provide simple amenities to make you feel at home, such as a hair dryer, iron, and desk space. We also love to give people a feel for the historic charm of our old Bellingham neighborhood, so we have incorporated historic black and white photos from the Whatcom Museum. We also love the vintage inspired record player to add some ambience to the space and hope guests enjoy a record or two while they are here.
  • Tastefully decorated, wonderful location, and would definitely recommend this to friends/family. I would stay here again in the future.

  • Lindsy and Eli's place is spacious, stylish, and peaceful. I enjoyed my stay here and wouldn't hesitate to book this place again!

    Teisha2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsy has a great eye for decor. The place is newly updated with plenty of style. There were a lot of gorgeous plants which was a really nice touch. The cement floors were cold when we were there in Feb, so bring slippers if you don't like cold floors. There was a slight mildew smell which was annoying. The place is spacious, and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is too small for two people to navigate at the same time, but the shower is larger than it looks in the pictures. Pros: great style, gorgeous plants. Cons: mildew smell.

    Carissa2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, close to downtown. Very clean and comfortable

    Betty2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is our 4th airbnb in Bellingham (we go about once a year) and is by far the best. We envy Lindsy's sense of style (check out the photos) and the suite was spacious, clean, and well-located. Check-in and check-out were effortless, and Lindsy went the extra mile to provide useful information about Bellingham (we learned a few things although we have visited Bellingham in the past). We will be staying in Lindsy and Eli's place on our next visit.

  • Beautiful apartment with an amazing night sleep and HOT shower. 10 minute walk to downtown!

  • Lindsy and Eli's airbnb description of their space matches it perfectly. It was quiet and the bed was big and comfortable. They were prompt with communication and include plenty of info/suggestions about where to eat/sightsee etc.

  • The unit was just as described and met our needs nicely. Location was convenient to downtown and there was plenty of space for us. Kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Being on the ground floor it does have more of a daylight basement feel as you go back into the unit, but that was as described so not a surprise. Communications with the host were excellent and accessing the unit went smoothly. Overall a good value for a convenient location that was also very quiet during the night, except for the occasional train horns that you hear anywhere in Bellingham. We would certainly consider staying there again if in Bellingham.

My girlfriend and I were in Anacortes for a day trip so we checked on line and discovered Annette & Dick's place and we are so glad we found it. The room was large and full of amenities including the famed pumpkin bread and fresh squeezed orange juice. They have an amazing view which is probably 10X's better in the summer. Comfy king size bed, internet and very clean. BETTER THAN A HOTEL. We will definitely stay there again.

This is a great unit, in brand new condition and nicely equipped. It is just a short walk to several great choices for lunch, dinner, and music. Communication with Aimee and Peter was easy. A very comfortable place to stay, and much nicer than a generic hotel room. I would definitely stay here again next time I come to Bellingham.

Alison, her family and her pets made us feel right at home! The space was beautiful, clean and thoughtfully stocked with fresh cream, eggs from her chicken coop and veg from the garden. This little slice of paradise was exactly as shown in the pictures and promised in the description. Two days isn't enough to explore the nature surrounding the area, browse the shops and get all that relaxing in before heading back to day to day life. We recommend at least a week to really soak up what this hidden gem has to offer. We will be back for more ASAP!
