Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • Excellent experience all around. I was greeted upon arrival and shown to the loft. Was given a complete tour and made very welcome to take advantage of the entire space and every thing in it. It had a nice warm feel, great view, and lots of character. The host was very accommodating with respect to my check-in and check-out times. Some of my favorite things... Traveling for business, one of the most exciting things for me was that there was a nice 25" monitor that I was able to use with my laptop. Three different great work spaces to choose from (desk, table, counter). The wifi signal was strong too. He has a really nice tower speaker that I plugged my ipad into so that I could listen to music while I work. Being close to the Riverwalk, I enjoyed access to great places for jogging. One day I ran across the nearby bridge to Belle Isle. The kitchen was nicely appointed with all the basics and more, including coffee, fresh milk, coffee cream, eggs, bread, cereals, and more. The only negative, which really did not bother me much, is the fact that the walls and floors are pretty thin so you can hear the neighbors next door and above from time to time. If you want to do anything expected to generate higher noise levels, it's just another consideration. Actually, I kind of enjoyed the natural sounds of walking on the wooden floors. It adds to the warehouse district/loft atmosphere. Bam, how about that--just turned the negative into a positive :)

  • Thane was really helpful with telling us about good restaurants and bars to visit in Detroit, and he had some great guide books there for us to use as well. I will say that the upstairs neighbors were somewhat loud the nights we were there (a Friday and Saturday night), and because it's an old building, you can hear them walking around and talking upstairs. Thane has a huge window in his bedroom, which is great to get the morning sun, but is also quite bright, so don't plan on sleeping in late :) Parking was easy, and we parked on the street and didn't have any issues finding a space. The building is a cool old factory-looking building right on the water, very close to Belle Isle. Unfortunately we didn't make it out there, but it's also fairly close to the downtown area.

  • Absolutely loved the Loft! It was a real treat staying here. The place has a great vibe and is perfectly located. Karen the lovely host was in contact with me as soon as I had a question during our stay. Would recommend!

  • Cool space. Access to the park was great for morning walks. A little noisy, but not so much as to disturb sleep. Definitely a neighborhood in transition - hipster cool.

    Ifit2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thane and Karen were great, and the place is even more beautiful in person than the photos! Very modern, chic, and comfortable. The location is 5-10 minutes from all the Detroit hot spots, and in a very safe location. I only wish we had gone during warmer weather so we could take advantage of walking by the water! Very great spot, would recommend to anyone visiting Detroit for any reason :-)

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.

    Thomas2016-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • The loft was just as lovely as it appeared in the photos. The location is safe, and in a perfect area for downtown sight-seeing. The area is safe- literally feet from the police station!

    Ashley2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying in this beautiful and well situated loft. Jesse was great to work with and communicated clearly. The cleaning and other fees added about $100 to our stay so consider that in addition to the base price. Lovely comfortable apartment and worth every penny.

    James2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot and Location in Mid Town

    Heath2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse's loft is just as pictured! Very clean, quiet & comfortable. Jesse was very accessible by text when I had questions and because he didn't have renters coming the day we left he let us stay as long as we wanted. We really enjoyed sitting on his patio at night, enjoying a cocktail & warm summer breeze. I would definitely recommend this loft. Thanks Jesse!

  • Great place! Conveniently located near the Q line to get around Detroit. The apartment was perfect for a weekend getaway!

    Lauren2018-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • It was a nice place, especially compared to other places I looked up in Detroit, but I really didn’t feel it was worth $200+ for a night’s stay. We wish there had been a brita filter for water, or complimentary snacks. Also, when my husband took a shower he ran out of hot water halfway through. The location was the best part, seeing as how it’s very close to the Detroit Institute of Art. Public transportation is a good option, the Bird scooters, or Uber/Lyft prices were pretty reasonable. AC was awesome, but don’t expect to watch local tv or any of the apps on the Apple TV unless you use your own login.

    Lauren2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this space so much. It was so well decorated down to the tiniest details. It’s in an awesome part of town and very convenient to hit the downtown spots. We would highly recommend anyone visiting this awesome city to check out jesse’s place!

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • Oh my goodness - this was the best place ever. If you like Midtown Detroit, please do yourself a favor and stay here.

    Christopher2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent host and the space was gorgeous. Zac & Renee were easy to contact and made it clear that they were available anytime we needed them. The neighborhood is conveniently located to mostly every popular neighborhood in Detroit. After a long day out in the city this was the best place to come back home to. Tastefully decorated, the whole floor was cozy and warm (great AC and heating system). Highly recommend for your stay in Detroit. ENJOY !

    Rebecca2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is exactly as pictured and beautifully renovated. The neighborhood is architecturally amazing and a convenient walk to good restaurants in Midtown. I wish I had more than one night to explore Detroit. Renee gave me plenty thoughtful ideas of things to see and places to explore.

    Ellen2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Zac & Renee run a beautiful apartment and was very helpful when it came to recommendations or tips about places to see in the city. I highly recommend their listing to anyone that is interested in staying in Detroit!

  • The house is spacious yet cozy, and very well furnished with great interior design! It's in a great location that's super close to everywhere we needed to be. Zac and Renee were great hosts and checked in to make sure everything was to our liking. And taco cat is adorable and friendly. Can't wait to come back next time we're in town! :)

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • Thank-you for the use of your lovely flat. We really enjoyed the location. Also thank you for responding to our initial enquiries iso timely. We would reccomend you to others quite happily.

    John2016-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Honor and Folly was incredible! Much more spacious than the pictures show! Absolutely beautifully appointed. Great location, we had no issues with parking at all. I would love to stay here again! Can't recommend enough!

    Bailey2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such an incredible space with lots of light! We loved all the special touches to the apartment and how clean it was. Perfect place to walk around and explore. Drinks and food were all yummy. Detroit was a great surprise and this place is so beautiful!

  • My husband, young son, and I enjoyed our stay at Meghan's "Honor and Folly" on brick-lined Michigan Avenue in Corktown. The apartment is spacious (by New York City standards), clean, cozy, quiet and nicely appointed. We enjoyed the neighborhood and recommend venturing out by car to The Detroit Institute of Bagels, Pewabic Pottery, Belle Isle, Rose's Fine Food, Eastern Market, The Detroit Historical Museum, and Detroit Institute of Arts (be sure to catch a film in the beautiful theater).

    Jane2016-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing location, right between Slows and Sugar House! The space itself is very clean and cute--beautiful windows overlooking the street and a pretty large back deck. The beds were cozy and the kitchen had everything we needed. We'd stay again for a weekend splurge.

    Jessica2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Honor & Folly was everything my party of 4 thought it would be; charming, comfortable and convenient. Meghan's suggestions for places to check out in the neighbourhood did not disappoint...Slows, Mercury, Sugar House and Astro were all great. The wifi was a little spotty at times. Thankfully there was AC because it was crazy hot outside. I would stay again and recommend H&F to anyone traveling to Detroit. Thanks, Stacey

  • This place is as described. It's a cottage in the city. I've never heard so much nature before, but once you close the doors, it's whisper quiet. The hammock and Adirondack chairs are a nice touch. There was more than enough space for our group. The one thing I would caution is that the water is hard and sulfuric. It was a struggle to shower, and we brought out own water to drink. Otherwise, this place was exactly what we were looking for!

  • The loft was beautiful, we really enjoyed our stay. I wish the listing made it more clear that the private terraces are locked and inaccessible. We were bummed as we were looking forward to having our own outdoor space. Other than that the unit provided everything we needed and we will hopefully be back!

Mark is easy to communicate with, very prompt and flexible. Hope to return here some day!

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. • They had a great selection of toiletries, a very comfy bed, additional heater, roku, lovely teas and a very welcoming bottle of wine. I loved soaking off the cold in the cozy clawfoot tub. We did not run into eachother but they checked in and made sure I was not in need of anything, were very sweet and communicative.

  • Matt and Meredith have the loveliest place to stay, the best in Detroit I think! The apartment is located in a great cosmopolitan neighborhood, easy to find. The flat makes you feel at home away from home, and is very elegantly decorated, with a back garden. Nothing was left out…from the fat towels to coffee ready for us to make in the morning, all the little things you don’t think of on your way out the door. They put together a comprehensive list of local and in-town eats plus a must-see recommendation. They're also the nicest people. I’d recommend the flat to anyone and will happily go back.

    Kevin2015-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful apartment, great location, and super nice & helpful hosts! Everything I could have hoped for.

    Evan2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Hamtramac at Matthew and Melissa's. The neighborhood was an exciting blend of different ethnicities. There was plenty of parking and the neighborhood quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. The apartment was comfortable and clean with plenty of amenities; the bed was excellent!

    Louis2016-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The flat above Matt and Meredith's home is adorable. There are so many interesting and fun touches to their renovations. There were ample toiletries and kitchen supplies. It was very homey and unique. We enjoyed our brief overnight stay and chose to just have drinks and dinner there as opposed to going out because it was so charming and comfortable. I would recommend the home to anyone staying in the area for an overnight getaway or an extended stay.

    Jackie2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • And our second stay at Matt and Meredith's was even sweeter than the first. With renovations to the bathroom (a beautiful claw foot tub and clean bright white tile) the apartment is even more spacious, light and ready to wrap you up in its comfort. The apartment is immaculate, stylishly decorated, the bed a dream to sleep in, the natural bathroom light is perfect for putting on makeup for a night out, and the central location is absolutely convenient. We just don't want to stay any where else when we're in town to explore.

    Debra2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect spot to stay in Detroit! The place is very welcoming, clean and with a unique style that makes you feel home in a second. The hosts are really nice people who communicate good and are really helpful. If we'd go back, we definitely come to this place again and stay longer to discover this inspiring city.

    Hans2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Will definitely stay here again. My pregnant wife and I stayed here 3 nights and it was like 100 degrees the whole time. The window air conditioner cooled the whole place. Very clean and great location. We dealt with Matt who was out of Country but made sure we were taken care of.

Up north at its best! Stay in a custom cabin in the middle of Rocky Top Farms, a cherry orchard. Please read this listing completely!
Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place. Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering firelight. Shared outdoor 6 person hot tub. The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided. Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips. This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path. This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins. Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!!! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! We are located 15 minutes south of Charlevoix and 20 minutes north of Elk Rapids. Bellaire (home to Short's Brewery) is 20 minutes away. Traverse City is about 30 minutes to our south. See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. No public transport around here, sorry. You must have 4 wheel drive to visit the cabin in the winter.... Otherwise, prepare to hike about 1/4 mile to the cabin, and park at the barn. The water here is well- water. It isn't the city water you might be used to. It does have a yellowish cast because there are many tannins in it. The water has been tested, and is fine to drink. You may want to bring your own drinking water if are used to chlorinated water.
We love our rural neck of the woods! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. Our immediate neighbors consist of farmers, artists, a college professor, bee keepers, a massage therapist, a chef, an energy conservationist and a professional star-gazer_ truly! Our neighborhood is spread across many miles, but we are look out for each other and are friends.
  • An absolute gem!

  • The Little Cabin at Ricky Top Farms was everything we had hoped for. Although we weren't personally greeted by Heidi when we arrived, that was how we wanted it. We spoke on the phone and let her know we had arrived. The setting is very tranquil and private - a world apart - perfect for a weekend getaway! The cabin had all the amenities necessary while remaining cozy and rustic. We have recommended the Little Cabin to our friends and relatives.

    James2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at the Little Cabin was all that we hoped for and more! We've been eager to return since we first visited two years ago. Communication with Heidi was great and she was flexible and accommodating with us as we made some very last minute tweaks to our plans. :) The cabin, property, and hosts couldn't have helped us have a more special and relaxing holiday. Hoping we are able to return again before another two years pass.

    Danielle2015-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is the perfect place for a get away. Cozy. Beautiful. Perfect.

    Jon2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Cabin at Rocky Top Farms is basically the perfect of mix of being away from everything with just the right amount of modern amenities. It served us great as both a home base for traveling the area as well as just sitting and doing nothing. Plus, the host Heidi, was AWESOME. It was mine and my wife's anniversary, and she was able to help me with planning a little extra surprise for my wife. This was on top of the the excellent communication and the helpful notes in the cabin. Basically, there is no reason why not to stay here for a nice get-away. The cabin is great, the grounds are scenic, and the host is more than helpful. The only negative is me having to write this glowing review when I'd rather keep the place to myself.

    Marc2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We are still wondering what lead us to book only two nights at Heidi's cabin. Imagine: walks through the cherry orchard, sunset dinner on a wooden porch, bathing in the hot tub overlooking the garden, the trees, the pond, a window to the stars above, sunny breakfast on the wooden porch.... Wouldn't you like to be able to do this until the end of your days (even in winter it must be nice to sit next to the fireplace, read a good book, bake some good stuff, have a walk, a bath in the tub at a starry night...). And besides this the other most important thing which should encourage you to go there and stay is having a great and hearty host like Heidi! Thank you Heidi!!!

    Angie & Tom2014-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • I have to say that our experience staying at Rocky Top was sensational!! We had flexible check-in time, the hosts were very responsive to any questions/concerns and would also ask us if we needed anything from time-to-time (without interrupting our quiet and peaceful evenings). The cabin was very very nice and clean, tons of amenities from cooking supplies to movies and music. The surroundings are surreal and peaceful with nothing but the sounds of nature. We hope to make a return some day!!

    Matt2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a super relaxing long weekend at the cabin. We turned off our phones and internet and enjoyed the cyclical sounds of nature that surrounded us from the mourning doves in the AM to the chirping crickets at night. With Heidi's detailed instructions and notes, living off the grid for a few days was pretty easy. I was even able to build a fire in the wood stove for the first time with her notes, a very proud moment in my life : ) Walks in the cherry orchard and soaking in the hot tub under the stars were just a couple highlights. If you are looking for relaxation...come to the cabin at Rocky Top Farms. You will find it here.

  • We had such a wonderful time at the "Love Shack!" It was absolutely beautiful - even on a rainy day. Rest, relaxation, and a beautiful view. We definitely want to go back.

    Brad2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful views and extremely peaceful. We absolutely loved our stay and pkan to visit frequently. It doesn't mention in the description of the property but the cabin is actually fully equipped for generator hookup. This allows you to run the ceiling fan and other fixtures as well some other common amenities. The sauna is an extremely nice feature! we used it to heat up which made showering outdoors with our camping shower much more comfortable. There isn't a shower on the property so I would consider that a very important life hack lol We were also very impressed with outhouse. I was skeptical when I read that in the description but it was actually quite comfortable and pleasant being a first time out house user and a refuser of porta potties at all costs haha It is also nice how secluded and private it is yet not too far away from Marquette to enjoy local attractions, parks, waterfalls, shops, and eateries.

  • This place was absolutely amazing! The weather was a bit rough , with endless rain and storms rolling in, but we were able to still have a great time. Bruce and Karie made everything really clear and easy, and the property is breath taking! We loved it!!!

    A2016-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start! This place is more than we ever could've imagined. We had the most amazing time at this oasis on Mother Superior. The views...unbelievable. It was such a beautiful getaway. Bruce and Karie really make this place wonderful by providing a lot of helpful resources like dish washing bins, towels, bug spray, trash bags, etc. There are even some extra plates and utensils! The sauna was sweet relief during the cold evenings. We played board games, set up our hammocks, and just enjoyed the silence of the woods mixed with the sound of the waves. We had beautiful sunrises and even saw the Northern Lights one night. It was the perfect way to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We will definitely be back again one day to stay at the love shack!

Log cabin on Grand Traverse Bay in beautiful Suttons Bay. Private beach. Super kid and dog friendly (extra dog fee applies). Grill, swim, read, cook, walk, hike, bike, wine taste and more...
Beautiful, fully-equipped beachfront log cabin on West Grand Traverse Bay. Lee Point is the place to be! Sleeps at least 8 (max 12) across 3 floors with 3 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, decorative fireplace, etc. The Beach: 150' of private West Bay beachfront for your use. Water is shallow (great for little swimmers/dogs) for a ways out. Beach toys, a few chairs and towels provided. We suggest aqua socks for little children given our own experience! There is a fire pit on the small bluff overlooking the water as well. The house: This is a traditional log cabin that is fully outfitted (towels, linen, cookware, etc) and furnished for comfort and a Northern Michigan vacation-style. 3 floors of space to sprawl, relax and enjoy. There's a very private deck off the back of the home. Linens and towels provided. Lower level bathroom completely remodeled and updated in December 2016. The indoor fireplace is only decorative. (please note!) The upstairs jacuzzi is permanently retired and not in use. Neither of these features are advertised as perks at the cabin, so please don't be disappointed that they are not available! Both are for the safety of our guests! *We are unable to accommodate weddings or special events due to insurance liability and facility requirements. Dogs welcome with an additional $25/day fee payable 1 week before check in. Please inquire with questions!
Location: located half mile off M-22, Lee Point is a quiet street made up of beaches, houses and local neighbors & vacationers. It's friendly, private and beautiful. It's a short trip into the charming village of Suttons Bay, and very close to the hustle and bustle of Traverse City and all it has to offer. We're a stone's throw from Black Star Farms as well! The house is located directly across from the private beach. Lee Point Road is generally very calm, but does pick up in the summer due to tourists and cherry season, so it is advised that children have an adult to cross over to the beach.
  • We had a great trip! Beautiful home great location!

    Caitlin2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication, great host, great house. Location is close to winery's and a few new brewery's but private enough to have a relaxing weekend away.

    Kris2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Colleens place for the Bayshore Marathon and had a blast! Very nice place in a fantastic location. We were able to make it to the race with no problems and then had a wonderful place to come back and relax. Beach access is excellent, with a really nice beach, very shallow pretty far out makes it a wonderful place to wade and cool off on those hot days. A whole host of wineries are just minutes away and there is a Toms grocery store within about a 10 minute drive. There were plenty of sleeping options for our group. The fire pit is conveniently next to the beach and the view of the star is excellent at night. Finally the kitchen and outside grill have everything you need to make a gourmet meal if you'd like and certainly will do for making easy lunches and dinners for a group, with plenty of seating for everyone. A few things to note: The floors creak a bit though only noticeable if someone was up late walking around, but we were all so tired that it didn't matter. The Jet tub upstairs wasn't working, which given that there is a great beach across the street wasn't too heart breaking. There is no A/C, however there are plenty of large windows and sliding doors to let the cool lake breeze in so that wasn't an issue, in addition the basement is probably 15-20 degrees cooler than the main living room during the day which made it a great place to relax and sleep. All that said I would stay there again in a heart beat and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in traverse city area.

    Matthew2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful cabin on Grand Traverse Bay is very comfortable. There was plenty of room for our party of 10, the three full bathrooms were a huge plus with this many quests. The knotty pine created a warm and comfortable atmosphere which made it very easy to relax here. Colleen was very gracious with our check in and check out time, which she was able to do based on our February visit I am sure. Thank you Colleen for a wonderful visit to Northern Michigan. Can't wait to get back to the City by the Bay!

    Shannon2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Colleen's place was just perfect for our birthday weekend wine-tasting getaway! It's a superb location on Leelanau Pennisula - right in the middle of great food and winery options. The home is beautiful, spacious, and well-appointed with amenities. Having multiple floors, bedrooms, and bathrooms, in addition to a huge kitchen, made our stay comfortable while affording privacy for our group members. Colleen was a wonderful host and flexible with our dates and arrival times, which was greatly appreciated. She made everything easy! Our group members were in awe of the personal touches and cozy spaces available. She even had a closet of beach supplies, so we'll have to come back when it's warmer to fully enjoy all the offerings! Thanks for a great time, Colleen!

  • We loved our stay at Floyd's Cottage and hope to return again! Perfect place for a getaway from the city that I'll consider for all 4 seasons. Thanks again, Linda and Floyd!

    Kelly2014-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Floyd's Cottage is a great find! It's spacious, airy, and beautifully decorated. It's also only a short drive from Chicago, making it totally do-able for a weekend getaway. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Floyd himself, who made us feel welcome but also gave us plenty of privacy. Highlights included: a fire built and ready to light in the wood-burning stove and the wrap-around porch, where I enjoyed my morning coffee while soaking up the fall colors. The beach is only a short walk away and the nearby forest preserve is absolutely breath-taking this time of year. We loved our stay! I'm a first time Airbnb-er and couldn't be more pleased with my maiden voyage.

    Meghan2014-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I were looking to treat ourselves to some quiet time away, as a belated Christmas celebration. Floyd's Cottage was as quaint and snug a spot as we could have hoped for. Finding it was easy- despite the snow, which made the woodsy surroundings ever so lovely- the surrounding communities are charming, and the woodstove was prepped for a couple days of napping and reading. We thoroughly enjoyed the design and decor of the space -- eccentric improvisation on a Rustic theme. Floyd was welcoming and resourceful, pointing us in the right directions for food. Linda was always prompt and clear with communication before and during our stay. It was a warm, cozy time. We'd love to see the place in Summer or Autumn.

    Jeff2015-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was a perfect cozy retreat for a quiet weekend with old friends. It was even more spacious that the photos suggested (even though it was too cold to use the gorgeous and massive screened-in porch), and we loved being able to have a fire going when it got cool in the evening. The kitchen was also big and well-supplied; if we'd been staying longer we definitely would have taken advantage of it! And Linda was so helpful in the lead up to our trip, especially in giving us directions to reach the cottage since GPS was a little flakey in the area. Would love to come back and visit in the summer or fall!

    Julia2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Floyd and Linda's cottage was wonderful! My boyfriend, puppy, and I were looking for a getaway from the city for the weekend and this was the perfect choice. It was cozy, convenient, and right in the middle of Harbor Country. When we arrived on Friday night around 10pm, Floyd was working in his studio. It was no problem to check in so late, which was nice since we were coming after work for the weekend. The kitchen was perfect for cooking most of our meals, and we enjoyed checking out Journeyman Distillery and Soe for some snacks and drinks. The beach is a short walk from the cottage, and the dog loved running around in the sand and barking at the water! The whole house is filled with Floyd's awesome artwork, which was a neat surprise. The beds are very cozy and the house was nice and warm after lighting a fire in the wood-burning stove in the living room. We even grooved to some Frank Sinatra which was left in the CD player! This weekend was just what the doctor ordered...a low-key, relaxing weekend in the woods. We will be back!

    Meg2013-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved Floyd's cottage! It's in a great location and the cottage itself is so cool. Floyd was really welcoming and Linda sent a great list of nearby restaurants and activities. A quick and easy drive from Chicago, too.

Wonderful neighborhood, with a great local place for dinner nearby called the Ottawa Beach Inn. It was only a short drive to the Tulip Festival. • We loved staying at Sean's house - it's in a beautiful area close to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, wineries, orchards, etc. The photos represent the house well. Everything is brand new (although a few aspects of the house still need to be finished) and it was more than enough space for two couples. The beds were extremely comfortable. It's close to other homes, but it was quiet and the orchards and fields behind the house are beautiful. Sean was easy to work with and answered all of my questions promptly.

    Sarah2015-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sean was a good host. The house was very clean when we arrived. It is an adorable house tucked back in the woods. Very relaxing and serene. It is very close to several beautiful wineries (the best ones on the area). We unfortunately were not able to find the beach that was described in the post as being across the street. We walked up and down the street and it was all private property so I advise someone staying here to get directions to it. Other than that, everything was perfect!

    Nikki2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Rare modern find for the area.

    Susan 2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time on our stay. Great place, quiet, clean, exactly what we wanted to get away for a few days.

    Drew2015-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Waking up to nature all around was exactly what we needed. The house had all the essentials and the cherry orchard behind the house was beautiful. Sean was great and quickly responded to any of our questions. We hope to stay there in the future.

    Natalia2015-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house was impeccably clean and thoughtfully designed. Sean made getting in and out easy and was there when I needed him. It's centrally located so you can head to Northport, the Dunes, or Traverse City. My only issue is that the deck is so small you don't get any sun. Other than that it was the perfect getaway for a week in the woods.

    Michael2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place! Totally worth it.

Perfectly located for tasting all the best wine and beer in southwest Michigan and still close to popular public beaches. When you're not tasting, relax on 20acres of rolling forested hills. Fire up the grill, light up a camp fire and stargaze all night!. The property is situated just minutes to wineries and breweries -- 12min to Warren Dunes Beach - 30min to St. Joseph, MI -- 40min to Notre Dame and South Bend, IN. Get a group together and enjoy South West Michigan Wine Country!
3 Bedrooms 1 master room with king size Sleep Number bed and master bathroom 1 Queen bedroom 1 bedroom with two twin beds Full bathroom with tub All linens and towels provided Front porch with picnic table 1/4 acre pond 20 acres of wooded and open space for your exploration
Located on a designated bike route, Hills road is one of the most scenic in the area. The house is surrounded by farmland with lots of grapes and farm stands stocked with seasonal produce. Rolling hills, lush greenery, and flowers all around. Plenty of animals to keep an eye out for - Deer, Turkeys, Fox, Turtles, Woodpeckers, Humming Birds and many others.
  • I enjoyed the yard and the entrance to the home, it's located near some wineries and about 20 minutes from the beach. We enjoyed using the grill and we took advantage of the kitchen to cook a much needed home cook meal. Unfortunately due to an iron allergy I was not able to use the bathroom to shower or brush my teeth. The water has high levels of iron which are damaging to clothes and dishes and tend to alter the taste of food when cooking. The house while clean smells metallic as a result of the water. I also smelled cigarette but because we were gone most of the time I made an effort not to let it bother me. My husband and my daughter enjoyed exploring the huge yard and watching deer and other critters. I enjoyed the view from the dinning area to the backyard, huge trees all around. Karl was very sweet to pick blueberries for us.

  • Wonderfully decorated, comfortable and spacious home in a little secluded area of Buchanan Michigan. Our host Karl was very courteous by replying to inquiries quickly, and providing acurate description of the home and amenities to make the stay great.

    Jennifer2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I really enjoyed our stay. We loved having so many bedrooms and a pretty scenery out all the windows.

    Kristin2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for visiting the area - we were visiting family in Berrien Springs so it was very convenient. We went to Fernwoood Nature Center (about 20 minutes drive away) and Curious Kids Museum in St. Joseph (about 30 minutes drive away). The house is clean and well-equipped for your stay. Karl took care of the snow removal. We had a toddler with us and the house was great for him - no inside stairs, room to run around, and generally kid-friendly. Summer or Winter this location is ideal for visiting Southwest Michiana.

    Valmae2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were fortunate in finding Three Springs for a short getaway to see the beach and visit a few wineries. It was such a pleasant surprise to find Karl had put so much thought, time, effort and energy into making our stay at Three Springs so enjoyable. As promised, Three Springs was a very remote location. It was out in the country, yet was very close to US 31, and positioned very close to several wineries while also still being close to Silver Beach. We had already been told that the house we would be staying at was subdivided so that the main level of the ranch style home was for us, while the basement had a operate entrance for Karl. We were happy to find once we arrived that Karl was there and very kind. He made himself available for local recommendations and even offered to start us a bon fire if we wanted since we had arrived late. Karl plays the part of host very well, as he is a very genuine, approachable and sincere man but also makes sure not to be overbearing. He was very careful to be available without being in the way at all. During our stay we never heard him from downstairs, and if we hadn’t searched him out, might not have even known he was there. We never felt uncomfortable or like we had ‘to keep it down’ while he was there. We honestly anticipated it could be awkward with him being there, but it truly never was. Once we entered the house we found that he left beach towels by the entryway for us to use, LED flashlights to use for exploring, a wine trail map, bug spray, and several other thoughtful items. The house and property itself was far more pretty than we ever expected. The lawn was very well kept, with a nice garden, a bon fire area, a picnic area with gas grill, a pond, and plenty of places to explore. If we had not committed ourselves to going to the beach, we would have had a perfectly wonderful time without ever leaving the house. If you are looking for a place to stay near Silver Beach or near these wineries, you won’t do any better than staying at Three Springs. We intend to stop back again just to see more wineries since most of our visit was spent at Silver Beach.

  • Karl was an outstanding host! We could not have asked for better communication ahead of the trip, or while on the property. He even worked to provide us with some excellent recommendations on nearby wineries & dining options. His place was clean, spacious, and located near to many wineries & breweries. The outdoor space on the property was beautiful as well. We all had an excellent time & felt that this was the perfect spot. Would highly recommend. Thank you, Karl!

    Lauren2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Did we get lucky or what?!?! The first weekend in November this year was gorgeous! The leaves started to turn just a few days before we arrived. Fall was in the air, yet summer tried to hang on just a little longer by providing us sunny skies and great warm weather. The stars in Michigan are something you do not want to miss! Make sure to get out and wander the property. You might spot some evidence of deer (like we did), turkey, or something else! Finally, whether you are a wine or beer connoisseur this area in Michigan has it all, make sure you check it out! We will be returning!

    Robert2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • My fiend and I wanted to test out a weekday bike tour to some of the local wineries, and Karl's house was the perfect place to have as a home base. This house is a great size for a small group, has nice finishings, comfortable bedrooms and is quite clean. It is situated such that you can do a casual 6 mile ride and hit three fabulous wineries. For more experienced cyclists, extend the radius a few miles and you can add several more wineries/breweries with a challenging hilly and fun course. The roads were safe for riding without much traffic, though the weekends might be a bit busier. Karl was a great host and prepared the fire pit, which we ended up not using but were super appreciative to have the option. His recommendations for wineries were spot on. He was available and responsive when we needed him. Note that many restaurants are not open on Mondays, so best to bring food along the ride and to prepare at the house for dinner. The kitchen is well prepared for a home cooked meal.

  • The cottage is in a great location in Charlevoix. Walkable to downtown and to the beach, very quiet spot but with lots to do close. From Charlevoix it is also very easy to drive to nearby towns like Petoskey or Traverse City. The cottage was a very cozy, two bedroom home - perfect for a couple or small group.

  • Everything was perfect as expected. We arrived early (before check-in) without even thinking about the time. Went to the door and scared the pants off of a very nice lady who was cleaning the house for our arrival. She was very nice and accommodating after we realized that we were early and let us put our bags in the house until she finished up. We went and ate lunch and we got a text from Justin within the hour telling us that we could go whenever we wanted. He even updated the August smart-lock to let us in early! - Great Host and Great Stay.

    Andrew2015-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Justin was prompt in getting me into the house and on my way! I was in town for a wedding, so I didn't spend too much time at the house. The house itself was just what I needed! Just a few blocks from downtown Charleviox, and a few blocks the other way is the beach.

  • The cottage is so close to a beautiful wooded park with lovely paths to the beach. It was clean and comfortable and we can't wait to visit again!!

  • Great rental. A cozy little cottage near Downtown Charlevoix. Even though the temperature outside was -5 F the inside was nice and warm. A very clean place with everything you need for a long weekend.

    Dav2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. It worked out well for us. Only problem was that the previous renter had a dog and the main room had several carpet stains and a dog urine smell. Not sure why this wasn't taken care of prior to our arrival as it was not pleasant to smell or look at for three days.

Beautiful land, rustic, comfortable home, quiet & private! Take a hot tub at sunset looking out over property, cook in our great kitchen; have a campfire at night. Oh yeah, really nice bedrooms w/sliding glass doors. Listen to the wind thru pines.
Our four-season dwelling is on 4 acres of gardens, pines, and ponds. One small Japanese pond, and a really big pond out back which goes up and down with the river. That's the Galien River which is at the west end of the property. A very comfortable hot tub (2 seater and great jets!) is just outside one of the bedrooms on the porch with a lovely view of the land. It feels like more than 4 acres because there are blueberry fields all around and you can't see or hear any of the neighbors. We have 40 mature organic blueberry bushes ourselves which are free for the picking from July-Sept. There is a pet fee of $20/night. The home has 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen size bed and a small sofa bed. The other bedroom has a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that can connect or not. In the living room is a long sofa bed that folds down to become a full bed. Really comfortable. We also have two Queen size raised air beds which can be set up in the living room, in a big a 4-person tent outside in the summer, or on the porch. 2 bathrooms, one with a marble walk-in shower and the other with an old fashioned laid-back bathtub. And- a fantastic record collection of Classic Jazz and Modern Classical albums! Home has a beautiful kitchen with a big stainless steel refrigerator, great stove, lots of cooking tools and lots of space for creating great meals. Plus a few Weber BBQ's outside for grilling. All rooms have sliding glass doors looking out to the whole property. The big screen porch (14'x26') is great. We eat and even watch TV out there, which is a LEDHD TV. (Streaming available) - Or play the piano? The house is all wireless, ceiling fans in all the rooms and on porch, and air conditioning/central heat. Great for a romantic and peaceful getaway, a small wedding, honeymoon, family reunions or small retreat groups. Three Oaks is only 90 minutes from Chicago in beautiful Harbor Country, with sparkling beaches, art galleries, great restaurants, dunes and hiking trails. Sometimes we love the winter even more than the summer out here...with the cozy fireplace and tons of firewood at your disposal- or use the fire pit and have a campfire outside. You can even cross-country ski right out back and down the little slope to the river! You will not want to leave when you're here. No one does.
Since I've been here for almost 30 years, I know all my neighbors and we're all good friends. I've always felt very safe in this neighborhood. Everyone looks out for each other. (It's a good way to live.)
  • Donna has created a special, enchanted place. My friends and I spent hours in front of the fire when we weren't cooking feasts in the spacious kitchen or enjoying the snowfall from the hot tub. We also loved the cross country ski paths about 30 minutes away. Donna was a gracious, thoughtful host. Can't wait to get back and see it in summer!

    Sara2014-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Blueberry House is a great getaway with a lovely yard and a great hostess. It's a quick drive from beaches, hiking trails and wineries. It's great for a couple, a few friends, or even a family.

  • Great location! About 10 minutes to Warren dunes so perfect for a beach weekend. The house is on a large property with a great back yard that includes a fire pit for use if desired. Itsa very calm area without much traffic going by so you can really enjoy peace and quiet and nature. The kitchen/living room are open and a great size to hang out with a large group family/friends that are staying there. Perfect for cooking meals in. The host is friendly and accommodating- great to work with!

    Jaimi2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Donna is lovely host. Very responsive, very respectful of our privacy and place was prepared perfectly for our stay. Her kitchen was a great place to cook and enjoy a meal alongside a warm fireplace. Her home is wonderful idyllic setting. Extremely quiet and peaceful in the hot tub. Wonderful winter getaway...looking forward to seeing the lovely surroundings in the spring, summer, or fall. Highly recommended!!

    Ed2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet home for a retreat from our busy Chicago lives. We really enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub to warm our bones during this long cold winter. Donna was very accommodating and easy to communicate with regarding the details of our stay.

    Melissa2014-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our 4 day stay at Donna's immensely! Her home is charming in every way. We especially enjoyed the outdoor areas. Donna was happy to let us use her charcoal grill as well as charcoal and lighter fluid. We had a lovely cookout and ate dinner outside on the picnic table. We felt like we were camping, but then had a beautiful home to sleep and shower in! The kitchen had everything needed for cooking and eating. Donna was always just a text message away with any questions or needs. She responded quickly and helpfully. We also had the pleasure of meeting her and visiting with her. She was able to provide a wonderful balance of being there when we needed her, but leaving us alone to enjoy our vacation. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely want to stay at Donna's again!

    Kelley2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Looking for a four-day get-away from Chicago, Blueberry Fields is perfect. In the middle of Michigan farmland, halfway between Sawyer (stop at The Greenbush Brewery for local beer) and Three Oaks (we bought some art at a local gallery), Donna's place was just what we were looking for. It is home that reflects Donna's personality, A vegetable garden, an expansive lawn, two ponds, a branch of the Galien River on the far end, a hot tub, a porch swing and the occasional deer. I don't know. What are you waiting for?

    Fred2013-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a low key rainy weekend at Blueberry Fields with our dog and baby. Full of a ton of unique art and decor, we felt at home and kept it cozy as we cooked and hung out on the porch watching the rain. Would have liked to spend more time outdoors exploring, but weather and bugs prohibited. Donna was great to communicate with, would definitely stay here again!

This second- story, custom built cabin in the middle of a cherry orchard has huge windows that allow for great natural light. Polished concrete countertops and floors with radiant heat. Sleeps 6. One bath. Shared hot tub. Large decks. Basic kitchen. Please read this listing completely.
Up north at its best! The Treehouse sits on a pond among the birch and pines in a working cherry orchard. Built by my husband and me, with a whole lot of help from many friends, it clearly has love in the details. Large windows bring the daylight in and allow for dreamy star- gazing - maybe even the northern lights! Six person outdoor hot tub is shared with the cabin also on property. Locally made art. Big garden. Access to trails for hiking, groomed cross- country ski trails, and mountain biking all around the orchard and ponds. Minutes to Lake Michigan and Torch Lake beaches. The cabin makes a great getaway for couples and families. There is a sleeping loft which can sleep four and a private bedroom which sleeps two. Limited kitchen has a smart oven, countertop two burner range, microwave, sink, coffee maker, electric frying pan and refrigerator. The Treehouse can be rented in conjunction with The Cabin at Rocky Top Farms. Towels and linens are provided. You must have four- wheel drive to access the Treehouse in the winter, or plan to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn. Please note! This is a cabin and not a traditional treehouse! We don't mean to mislead with the name- The Treehouse is what we have always called it. *Please read this listing entirely!
We adore our very rural neighborhood! Just a couple miles from both Torch Lake and Lake Michigan-beaches abound! Ask us about our favorite spots. Hiking and paddling opportunities are plentiful. We are not far from XC, downhill skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Rocky Top Farms is centrally located between Traverse City and Petoskey. We are located just off 31N. Our nearest towns are Elk Rapids, Bellaire, and Charlevoix, and East Jordan. The closest villages are Torch Lake, Ellsworth, and Central Lake. There are so many things to check out while visiting- or- just laze around the farm!
  • My husband, our lab and I spent a really wonderful weekend at the cabin. I would highly recommend this stay! Heidi was very warm and hospitable from the beginning. She kept us informed throughout the weekend (i.e. it was muddy so bring boots, and when there were other people coming/going around the property which was infrequent and never once interrupted our activities). The property itself is just awesome. There are acres of land, water and a beautiful orchard only yards from the cabin door. And inside, the cabin was warm, cozy, clean and well supplied. It was our first trip through Airbnb and it couldn't have been more perfect!

    Gina2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had a great time at the treehouse. Even during record-breaking cold temperatures, it was toasty and warm. It is definately a comfortable place to relax and get away.

    Joshua2015-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the setting and location of the Treehouse. It was a perfect place to relax after enjoying skiing in the day. The wintertime orchards, and fields left us thinking of how nice it must be in the other seasons. This is something we agreed we must cone back to check out. This would be an ideal place to hunker down in through a heavy snow storm, though it was unusually warm during our visit, and we got soothing rain instead. The bathroom is as nice as depicted in the pictures, and the radiant heat in the floor was awesome throughout the place. If you are looking to unplug, relax and refresh, the Treehouse is a great place.

    George2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at The Treehouse was absolutely perfect. We decided to head toward Charlevoix on a whim and contacted the host the day before our desired arrival. Heidi was very quick to respond and welcomed us warmly via e-mail. All subsequent communication was similarly quick and timely. We were blown away by the beauty of The Treehouse... the amazing craftsmanship and interesting artistic touches kept us in awe as we explored the cabin... the many books, pieces of art and the orchards surrounding the cabin. My husband and I both enjoyed daily runs through the orchards and won't forget the amazing memories that we made while staying at The Treehouse: swimming in Lake Michigan (Brrrr!), attending a steel drum concert on the water in Charlevoix, exploring the incredible public library in Charlevoix, climbing Sleeping Bear Dunes and RUNNING back down, and poking around downtown Traverse City. We recommend The Treehouse without reservation and we are so glad that we lucked into spending a couple of nights of our Michigan adventure there.

    Betsy2014-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse and Rocky Top Farms is a wonderful gem. Quiet, clean, surrounded by incredible landscape. Heidi is also a wonderful host.

  • This was our first Airbnb experience, and We couldn't have been more pleased with the host and the property. We were up from Florida, visiting my family and enjoying some Michigan fall weather. When we arrived we knew we wanted an extra night. This well-cared for property is bursting with charm and personality. We contacted Heidi and she could accommodate our extra day request. She was also tremendously accommodating to our large breed dog, and my parents that stayed one night during our stay. The photos don't do the property justice. It is clean, cozy, and there is definitely pride and care taken with all the homey touches throughout. Our only issue was that we wished we could have spent some more time there!

    Staci2015-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi is a wonderful host. We texted upon our arrival and then were able to meet each other the next day. What wonderful smile and such a friendly, welcoming person. The Treehouse is an amazing get-away! So spacious, light and warm. It's next to a small pond and borders a cherry orchard. So peaceful. The house is eclectic but very welcoming. We are already planning a summer trip.

    Jay2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Place was great. Had everything we needed. It was clean and had a comfy feeling to it. Heidi checked in and made sure all was well. Would recommend this place to my friends and family.

Charming loft space in quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown shopping and dining. Close to beaches, ski resorts and cultural attractions. Over detached garage--very private--come and go as you please. Perfect for couple or (very) small family.
Very clean. Simply and tastefully furnished. Plenty of natural light, wood flooring. One bedroom with queen-size bed. Sofa (not a pull-out) in the sitting room can provide extra sleep space. No kitchen, but space is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Flat-screen TV. Cable and wifi access. Please note the Loft is above our detached garage and is accessed via two short flights of stairs.
Please visit the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce website for more information on the area.
  • My son and I had a wonderful time! The pictures did not do it justice. It was the cutest place we have stayed to date (we travel several times a year). My son gave it a HUGE thumbs up. We spent the days snowboarding and the evenings walking around town and settling in with a board games and movies. While I understand the convenience of staying at the resort this is such a better option all around. We are very much looking forward to going back! Y&A

  • Andrea's little apartment was absolutely charming! It was very cozy and clean! There were an assortment of DVDs, wonderful books and games available for entertainment. Andrea was there to greet us and show us around. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

  • I stayed with my two small dogs at this wonderful little loft for several nights. It had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Andrea had coffee, snacks, juice, and water ready for me when I arrived. It was great for the dogs as well because the loft opens onto a small backyard which makes it easy to take the dogs out in the morning and evening. The loft is located right downtown within easy distance to several shops, bars, and restaurants. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet. Parking on the street out front of the house was very easy and I always found a spot. Couldn't have been happier and can't wait to come back and visit again soon! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

  • Andrea is a kind and helpful host with a wonderful sense of what makes a space warm and comfortable and restful. Her loft is charming, with beautiful architectural details. We slept well, felt pampered, and read by the spacious light coming through the windows (even in March!). Plus, Petoskey is a great town -- plenty of places to eat, woods to hike, and shores to walk. We'd return here and stay with Andrea without a doubt!

  • It was an overnight stay for us but Andrea was so nice upon our arrival and quickly showed us around because we needed to quickly get ready for a wedding. Wish we could have spoken to her more! She has such a fantastic space with little amenities like games, movies, and snacks. It was a very quiet area so we slept really well and there's so much to do in town. We'd definitely stay here again if we're back in the area!

Welcome to Esther House. We took a 1930's catalog vacation cabin and turned it into an inviting 2 bedroom retreat home. We are steps to the Spring Lake Beach and Village, bike paths, a 2.5 mile bike or car ride to the beaches of Grand Haven.
This charming, fully rehabbed 2 bedroom home makes for the perfect getaway, and the best alternative to a Hotel/Motel in the area. Although the footprint of Esther house is small, we offer 1100 sq ft of comfort over the basement, main level and lofted bedroom, designed with easy and comfortable living in mind. A fully stocked custom kitchen with high-end appliances, granite breakfast bar and an open plan to the cozy living/dining room. Small dinette table seats four. The living room has a comfortable sofa, reading chair and 42" TV. No cable, but its hooked up to stream all your favorites. In the basement we have a brand new bedroom with a queen sized bed, nightstands and dresser. A separate utility area with washer/dryer. Nice and quite fenced back yard with a cement patio.
The home is located in historic Strawberry Pointe area of Spring Lake, Michigan. The area is littered with these small cabins that once served as hunting and fishing vacation homes in the 30's, 40's and 50's. We are walking distance to the Spring Lake public beach, the expansive bike trails of the area and to the Village Baker (a must visit for great baked goods, fantastic brunch and dinners, as well as a great cup of coffee!!)
  • Great, quiet place to stay away from the tourist areas. The house is beautifully furnished, and we loved the cozy living room. It was a perfect getaway.

  • I loved staying at the Charming Designer Retreat house. It was just as Frederick had described and show pictures of. It felt very welcoming and cozy. It was also very clean and it felt like I could just be at home. I also loved how close it was to the water, to a walking path through the woods, and to some little shops. Such an ideal little location. I am so glad that we stayed there for the weekend.

    Emilie2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Frederick's home. It was beautifully decorated, very clean, and near tons of fun restaurants, state parks, piers, beaches, and shops. It was easy to get in and out and his guidelines are simple and clear to follow. I would absolutely suggest staying here!

    Allison2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • Frederick's home is just as charming, cozy, and comfortable as it appears in its photos. We were there for only two nights, but it felt like home. The location was perfect, and we will definitely be back!

  • Adorable home, made me feel happy. Near little beach for my girls, close to town, shopping. Very nice renovations and adorable little cottage. Would definitely visit and stay again at The Esther House.

    Danielle2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect. Walking in the door for the first time we immediately felt right at home. It was cozy yet stylish. Neighborhood is quiet with small town charm. We were able to hop on our bicycles and be on the trails in a matter of minutes. Highly recommend this beautiful place.

  • Amazing stay. Walking distance to Village Baker (wonderful coffee) and 7 min drive to a great Gastropub (Paisley Pig). Close to a path for walking and biking. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Beautiful interior of the home. Would definitely recommend.

    Elizabeth2018-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • A very tastefully decorated home away from home. A quiet setting away from the standard tourist traps, yet close enough to enjoy the area attractions. I would strongly recommend if you are in the area. All the comforts of home are awaiting your vacation destination.

Country getaway! Located 1/2way between 2 small towns: Pinckney and Howell. Near Nature and Recreation areas. Our place is secluded and along a private road - but shopping restaurants and highway for commute are only 10 minutes away. Only 1/2 hour -45 minutes to Downtown Ann Arbor and University of Michigan. Our Private Lake (no public launch) is GREAT for fishing, swimming, kayak and canoeing. Birds and wildlife abound. Peace and quiet given and expected! Available all year round - in the winter there is skiing nearby - either cross country or downhill. Four bedroom and 4 full baths, fireplace, open floorplan with open kitchen/great room with vaulted ceiling, wrap-around deck and wrap around patio off walk-out finished basement. Fully furnished and well-appointed kitchen. Laundry room, game room stocked with card and board games, bookshelves full of books, 2 TVs with DVD players and large movie collection (no cable TV and NO INTERNET service unless you bring your own hotspot via cell phone.) We also have a firepit with sit-upon logs for roasting marshmallows or weenies.. We have a shore area, 2 rowboats, a 4-person paddleboat, and a 2-person kayak for exploring the private 82-acre lake.
Rural location for those wishing for a place "off the beaten path" and surrounded by nature. I do have neighbors, but am on almost 2 acres nestled into the side of a hill, along a private road, with 200ft lakefront on small sleepy lake. Our little private road is paved, but narrow. No parking on the street, plenty of parking in my long driveway, 4-6 cars easily.
  • The house was on a very private and quiet lake . Susan was great with communication and really helped show us around and explain things in the home. The kitchen was well supplied . The lower floor did have a musty odor and the dehumidifiers had to be emptied often.

    Margaret2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • After a long week of work in Detroit, a few friends, colleagues and I rented this place for the weekend and it was perfect. Secluded, but not far from any amenities, with a quiet lake which was easy to swim in or enjoy from the lawn and deck. One of the big reasons we booked the place was because of the lake toys that were included in the stay (kayaks, canoes, paddleboats)! We were sad initially not to have the option to have a power boat, but didn't miss it at all once we were there. The fire pit, hammock, dock, fully-stocked kitchen, comfy beds, and adirondack chairs were all great surprises once we settled in as well. Susan was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

    Valerie2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • This home and property was amazing. Much beyond what we expected. The house was clean and complete with anything you could possibly need. The property was totally awesome. Would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to experience a wonderful getaway. The lake and fishing were great. We had day and night fires down by the lake. Totally relaxing.

    Candi2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was great! She explained things very well. House was great, yard was great! We thought the "beach" was a little lacking. No sand outside of the water. But the lake is beautiful and quiet. The people that we did see were friendly. The town is cute and nice and had everything we needed.

    Heidi2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Susan is great to work with. She meets you at the house and is only a phone call away. Great response time.

    Mo2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place worked great for our group. Susan had the house full of amenities and activities to entertain. We loved the huge yard and paddleboat and campfire ring.

    Kelly2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Susan was an exceptional host and we loved her place! She made the check-in process very easy and gave us a very informative tour of her house. There was also a binder full of maps and information on local restaurants/shops. All the lights were labeled throughout the house and having 4 bathrooms was crucial, with a group of 10 guys. We spent most of our time around the fire pit and on the lake. There was tons of fire wood stocked and ready to go. The lake was a lot of fun, where we went swimming, fishing, and took out the various paddle/row boats. Overall we had a great time!

    Phillip2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Susan's place a couple years ago and when we needed a place for this year it was a no brainer to rent it again. She's the most gracious, accommodating, and attentive AirBnB host we've ever had. We hope to rent her place again!

This private studio suite acquires the best area of our 100+ year old house. A modified parlor and sunroom with traditional glass windows overlook historic Heritage Hill. Minutes from downtown, you'll be able to experience the best of Grand Rapids!
Our private studio suite is located within what we jokingly call the "East Wing" of our 100+ year old home. It has its own front door and is locked off from the rest of the house, so you'll be able to rest at ease knowing that you won't be sharing with others. Traditional glass windows wrap around the sunroom, creating a perfect place to drink coffee in the morning and sit on the couch while the sun sets. The suite offers a full kitchen and bathroom with a queen size bed.
Our neighborhood is part of the historical Heritage Hill district of Grand Rapids. Home owners in this area go to great lengths to keep up to code to preserve the aesthetics of this old neighborhood. A half block away is the Meyer May House designed by Frank Llyod Wright and is considered Michigan's Prairie masterpiece.

    Kamil2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn't have asked for a more cozy getaway! Cody was a wonderful host, ensuring we knew where to park, how to lock up, etc. and left notes in the apartment for any other potential questions. He also made sure our stay was incredibly comfortable with all the amenities one could ask for as a traveler including basic kitchen ware, cooking supplies, and even chocolates in the fridge! And I can't say enough about the sun room-it was the perfect place to relax and start your day. Highly recommend this lovely space and fantastic host!

    Liz2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! Easy entry, clean and cute. The location made it convenient to get around on foot or uber. Wish we could've stayed longer and would love to stay again.

    Kali2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cody's place was comfortable, clean and private. The bed was extremely comfy, I slept really well and the sun room was really nice in the morning. I'd definitely come back!

    Ben2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable spot though we didn't use it off street parking was available. Very quiet in the residence and neighborhood. Walking distance to restaurants and cultural spots.

    Rob2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Never had the chance to meet Cody, but this Air BNB was perfect for a night. The tiny kitchen makes it suitable for more days though. The studio was bright and clean and is in a beautiful location of Grand Rapids. The sun room was enjoyable and there are many thoughtful amenities provided.

    Kristen2016-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cody's place was impeccable. Not only was the location perfectly placed in a historic neighborhood (down the street from the Meyer May house!), but it was also central to most of the places we wanted to see in Grand Rapids. There were also a bunch of cute eateries and shops less than a few mins away which was very convenient. The apartment itself was so roomy and provided everything you could need for a good night'a rest. I would love to return here if I'm ever in the area again and would highly recommend it to anyone else! My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. Thanks so much Cody!

    Kristen2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, centrally located and comfortable space! Window AC unit, but kept the studio at a comfortable temperature on some hot days in Grand Rapids. Just something to note if it makes a difference to you!

  • This house was a dream come true. Our family came together here for some much needed R&R and it couldn't have been more perfect. The house is stocked with everything you need and more. The scene all around you in breathtaking with rolling fields, tall grasses, and large skies. The house has been impeccably renovated featuring very modern accommodations in a vintage farmhouse feel. A true gem. Our highlights were having cookouts in the back that ended in s'mores, having 3 bathrooms (a luxury!), the sauna, wonderful linens, and cooking in the kitchen. Thanks Sean - we will be back!

    Emily2013-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • EVERYTHING was AMAZING!!! I was so impressed with the amenities of this house and the surrounding landscape. It's a true romantic get-a-way and was perfect for our wedding weekend. The intuition that went into the design and efficiency of the space is impeccable! I can't wait to come back and enjoy all of the gems in leelanau peninsula. It's a slower pace but good for the heart.. I left inspired and recharged!

  • The listing was completely accurate. Sean has a beautiful farm house in the middle of the country. The inside was so charming and well-designed.

    Mary2015-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely home, beautifully designed, in a stunning setting, especially if you wander to the top of the hill. And Sean is very generous in providing whatever you might need to be comfortable. We enjoyed a really wonderful stay that we hope we can repeat again in the future. Thank you!

    Misty2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to Sean's farmhouse; when we arrived last summer, we decided within hours that this was the spot where my husband and I wanted to get married. Our wedding here last weekend was, without exaggeration, perfect, and that's in no small part to the love and care Sean has put into this beautiful place, and the support and attention he pays to his guests. He was immediately available and infinitely accommodating without being intrusive, and his home and the property it sits on are truly magical. It was everything we could have wanted for a celebration of our love and our loved ones, and we feel like this place has become a special part of our lives. We will always be back.

    Amanda2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • House was as described. Kitchen had everything we need to prepare meals as well as the outdoor cooking area. We did have to purchase dishwasher detergent and additional toilet paper. Love the location and privacy. All in all was a great experience.

    Jana2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • -very charming, a farmhouse and locale from another era -lovely garden (beautifully updated this year) with fresh tomatoes and basil -sean is extremely attentive to messages/ communications -this was our 2nd year and we were so thrilled to be able to go back! (for selfish reasons, i find myself reluctant to tell my friends about this gem for fear that they'll scoop it up....)

    John2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time on our girls weekend. The house was exactly what we wanted and more! It was a short drive to town and stopping at Christmas Cove was worth it. We enjoyed shopping downtown and eating at the Tribune for breakfast and a pop up dinner. The food is fantastic. We can’t wait to come back to Northport.

The Grand Mere Coach House is in an eclectic neighborhood surrounded by Lake Michigan, small lakes, and sand dunes. Grand Mere Park is a year around beautiful place for walking, cross country skiing, and sledding. The family room and kitchen face Lake Michigan with lots of windows. The house has a queen bedroom, queen pullout in family room, and laundry. A bird feeder adds to the charm. There is also a HOT TUB located on the back patio directly on Lake Michigan, behind the main house.
The coach house is on the Lake with a view of Lake Michigan and normally a beach. It has a full kitchen a living room with a queen pullout and a queen bedroom and bath. Grand Mere State Park is very close containing 600 acres of dunes, trails and several thousand feet of beach. Note: Lake Michigan is currently at very high levels and we have to access the beach from the public beach 100' to the south. The beach is still walkable all of the way to the south into the state park.
Grand Mere is an eclectic neighborhood in between Lake Michigan and 2 inland lakes. Grand Mere State Park containing 600 acres of lakes and dunes is next (website hidden). Joseph, New Buffalo, and wine country are within 15 minutes.
  • John was fantastic host, easy to talk to and readily available for any questions or suggestions. The rental space was clean, bright, and very nice. Views were fantastic from the backyard over the lake and the two beaches were nice, slightly rocky but very quite.

    Tyler2016-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place! Honestly, I don't think you could get closer to Lake Michigan. John was a friendly, helpful host that made Corbin and I feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The house is fantastic and was all we needed and more. Thanks a bunch John, if we are looking for another weekend away, we will be looking up your house. Thanks again, Erik

    Erik2016-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay on Lake Michigan! I was passing through with my kids and we only stayed a day at John's coach house, but we wish we could have stayed longer. The private beach was a few feet away, the accommodations were pristine & there were movies there for us to use. It was located in a very quiet area & John offered many area recommendations including the Swiss Bakery which was AMAZING! I would recommend this place and hope we can come back & stay longer next time!

    Melissa2015-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • John met us as we arrived and made sure we were squared away and answered all of our questions. John was an accommodating and friendly host, and made us feel welcome. He communicated well and made everything about the stay easy. The Coach house is clean and well furnished. It has skylights and lots of windows to provide good light and you can see the lake from the living room. The beach is as nice a private beach as I have ever been on along Lake Michigan (and I have been to several), and the stairs that provide beach access are in good shape. The hot tub was clean and relaxing and he provides an outdoor beach shower so you can wash the sand off after coming up from the beach. The neighborhood is well located, and he has plenty of parking. Everything was just as described. There was some construction going on at a neighbors house, but otherwise this would indeed be an extremely quiet spot. We will stay here again.

    James2015-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay at John's coachhouse. As before, he was a wonderful host and made it very easy to coordinate plans. The house was very clean and had all of the accommodations we needed for our two night stay. And the view is beautiful!

    Megan2016-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was AMAZING! The unit itself was immaculate and the view from the back porch on to the lake was beautiful. Greatly enjoyed our stay and John was very attentive and helpful. Overall a very relaxing getaway that we will want to repeat in the near future. Thank you!

    Kelsey2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking at the pictures and thinking you'd like to stay here, then you'd be right. This is one case where the pictures are not deceiving and you get what you're expecting. I loved the location (watching the sunset on Lake Michigan was nice). The place was clean, and nice, and well appointed. John's communication was excellent, and told us all we needed to know before arriving. If you're looking for a nice little place to stay with beach access, I can't recommend this one highly enough.

    Hershel2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • John's place and hospitality exceeded our expectations. He provided detailed accommodations for anything we wanted to do or explore in the area as well as things we needed right in his place. The coach house was a perfect size providing us with the comfort and warmth we were looking for. Watching the beautiful sunset while relaxing in the hot tub was icing on the cake. We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

The perfect home for a laid back group of friends, couples or a family to stay with all the comforts of being at home. In the morning, grab treats from the neighborhood bakery, Common Good, and plan your day exploring hiking trails, beaches, craft breweries and world-class wineries. Grab bikes and ride the 1.3 miles to Downtown Traverse City and West Bay to enjoy everything that is great about Northern Michigan: shops, views, dining, drinks, and more!
My home is your home for your stay. Your space includes 3 quaintly decorated bedrooms with empty closets for storage and plenty of space to settle in for your stay. The kicthen, dining room and living room have been recently updated and include all the essentials from home plus lots of unique details from my travels. The lower unit gym includes a new treadmill, free weights, bench and space for yoga.
Our neighborhood is called, "SoFo" because it is the area in town Traverse City south of 14th Street. Located at the edge of a quiet residential area with a grocery store, ice cream shop, whiskey tasting room, brewery, bagel shop, party store and some simple take out places: sushi, pizza, Chinese and sandwiches. We're only 4 blocks to Old Town and 1 miles to Downtown Traverse City.

  • Great location , has a ton of potential to being amazing

    Joel2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at this home. It was our first time using airbnb. We never saw the host, which was fine by us, as she left appropriate instructions for entering the home. It had an electronic key lock on the door which was excellent--very convenient for both parties. The main living spaces and bedrooms of the home are contemporary and comfortable, and while not large, enough space for two small families. The neighborhood was fairly close to downtown, but definitely not walkable if you are wondering. Riding a bike on the other hand would be a perfect distance. The one downside is that the house is on a fairly busy road--more than we expected--so our little ones were woken up several times by loud cars, motorcycles, etc. The backyard has a small patio, but is mainly overgrown so don't expect a lot of outdoor living spaces either in back or front. The bathroom could use some more light. Electric stove for you foodies/chefs. There are two levels that get rented out, but we hardly heard the folks in the lower level who I believe enter through the garage. We felt safe and there were no inconveniences. We would certainly stay here again, and felt it was a good choice when compared to the other options.

    Paul2014-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb ever and I could not have asked for a more perfect experience. Marta's house is amazing. Checking in was a breeze and the location is literally a couple of minutes away from downtown Traverse City. The grocery store was walking distance so I was able to cook a few meals thanks to the full kitchen. The guide Marta left with suggestions of where to go was also very helpful. The only bad thing I can say is that now I'm spoiled and expect every Airbnb home to be like Marta's. I can't wait to stay here again!

    Dave2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay, very cozy and Marta is a great host

    Gabriel2017-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a ladies trip. Marta always responded quickly with any questions. Had a minor situation and marta was there in person to handle, bringing wine and choclate.

    Maryann2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Marta's place was a great place to stay for a long weekend. Super close to downtown with bikes to boot. Communication was quick and accommodating and she even had the place ready a few hours early. I'd definitely stay here again.

Heart of Downtown TC on Union Street at the corner of Union and State! This Rustic Modern Loft is located just behind front street, only a block from the beach and everything that downtown Traverse City has to offer. Restaurants, festivals, coffee shops, movie theaters, you name it.
This iconic 130 year old building was once home to a printing press. Its towering brick walls stand 12 feet tall and were hand made using clay that is unmistakable to our area, from the waters of Cedar Lake just west of Downtown. The tasteful renovation included the restoration of the original old growth maple floors throughout, plus the repurposing of historic doors, windows, fixtures, and local barn wood beams and boards, as well as many custom pieces from local artisans.
This block is in the heart of downtown, set less than a block behind Front Street on Union. Multiple restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and all sorts of retail are within just a few steps out the door.
  • Great location and the photos and description are spot on. Very clean and decorated nicely. I definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place in TC that you stay here

  • Saburi's Loft blew away all of my expectations. He was quick to communicate and confirm our stay. When we arrived, check-in was a breeze and the free parking is a huge plus. The Loft looks even better in person than in pictures! I loved the shower and the bed, both of the quality you would never find in a hotel. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Traverse City, but you would never know once inside the quiet of the Loft space. Will definitely return!

    Sabrina2018-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for St. Patrick's Day, so I expected there to be a lot of noise. I was mistaken...we had a really peaceful night. The loft is in a perfect location, parking was easy to find and not far from the place. The loft was very clean and the decor is beautiful. I really enjoyed my short stay. Would love to come back and would highly recommend. Thanks

  • Our getaway weekend was excellent!! The stay was SO peaceful! The hosts were excellent and the food was even better!! A++++++ rating for a rustic getaway weekend!!

    Chuck2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin in the woods is cozy even in winter! We spent one evening there in January to get away from Ann Arbor and celebrate a birthday and anniversary. This place was perfect. We sat by the fire in the wood stove and celebrated without distraction. This is a rustic cabin (as described by Mully and Deb), which was great for us, but might not be for everyone. We woke up to a scrumptious breakfast and coffee and went for an hour long hike around the lake! Thanks Deb and Mully!

    Jules2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is exactly what we were hoping for... a secluded cabin with a built-in wood-stove for building a fire. We felt close to nature and just had a wonderful time, and we didn't need electricity at all... it was even warm enough for the winter, although you'll have to tend to the fire and keep it going. Mully and Deb were wonderful and accommodating hosts and even brought us dinner and breakfast, which were delicious!

    Daniel2013-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Go to this place. Mully & Deb are phenomenal hosts. They strike the balance of friendly, warm, informative and available, while also giving you space to enjoy their gorgeous cottage and the beautiful landscape of their community. Not to mention, the breakfast they prepare will have you drooling. In-Cre-Dible. If you can manage not having a full bath in the cottage and the humanure toilet, which I did with no trouble (I actually think I may want a humanure!), then you are in for a really fantastic stay. They are located right on a trail that offers some of the best views that nature can offer. Plus, if you have the opportunity to have a conversation with these two, you’ll enjoy it thoroughly. I’ll say it again and again: go to this place.

    Florence2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Spending even just a night at the Hanuman's Cabin on the Path was an awesome experience! Mully and Deb were gracious hosts that kindly welcomed us into their cabin and even provided a delicious breakfast. It seemed if no detail was forgotten. We will definitely spend more time at the Cabin since it is close to so many fun wineries while still offering some peace and quiet that just isn't found many other places.

    Joanna2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Spending the night at Mully and Deb's was such a treat- beautifully decorated cabin, warm woodstove, deep forest with endless paths to walk, so very quiet. It's an oasis. Mully and Deb delivered the most scrumptious breakfast. Their attention to detail shows at every turn. I'll definitely plan to return!

    Carol2016-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful spot to get away from your phone, sit back and listen to the quiet sounds of the woods at night and in the early morning. We definitely want to find a time to go back real soon. The breakfasts are scrumptious with so many choices offered when you check in. Molly and Deb aim high and genuinely want to make sure you are served what suits you the best. I love how in this tiny space there is still a feeling of separate rooms. Great use of the small space. For animal lovers there is a very friendly and delightful 4 legged greeter who may welcome you. I Loved this cats attention as well as its sensitivity to go and play somewhere else for a while. Since I love cat more than my friend it was perfect this cat knew the difference. I highly recommend this spot and find that it would be wonderful on a solo retreat as well. While in the area try out The Common Grill in downtown Chelsea. Great food!

    Joyce2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Mully and Deb's place is more than you will expect and then some, those two are wonderful people and truly know hospitality! Great Location and I look forward to visiting it again this fall!

Me, my husband, my in-laws, and my two children spent five nights at Jack’s place, and we created many great memories around his dining room table after preparing food using his state-of-the-art cooktop. Most afternoons we took a chilly walk on the path by the lake, and enjoyed the wildlife (deer and birds) that would wander into the yard throughout the day. I don’t have a lot of experience using AirBnB, and Jack has definitely set the bar very high for both timely communication and thoughtful touches and amenities in his home. If you are looking for a quiet spot conveniently located near the University of Michigan and downtown Ann Arbor Jack’s place should top your list. Thanks, Jack!” Alyssa

  • Wonderful place to visit! Beautiful home!

    Alicia2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We reserved the house for our wedding weekend, and it was an amazing experience. The house is very artistically designed with a nice view of the lake. There are four bedrooms, so my husband and I, the best man and the maid of honor stayed at the house the night before the wedding. With the permission of the owner, we had our "get ready" photos taken at the house, and we could not ask for a better place to do that. (My favorite part is when my maid of honor helped me putting on my wedding dress, there were a group of swans that swam across the lake.) The house owner Jack is wonderful, responds to messages quickly, and he is extremely helpful. He prepared a lot of drinks and snacks for us in the fridge, and also a bottle of wine and champagne for our celebration. How sweet is that! I strongly recommend this house, it is truly incredible!

  • Jack was a great host and we loved staying at his gorgeous lake home. It's a short drive to the many Ann Arbor offerings, and we fell in love with the city. Most importantly, we adored Jack's house and the quiet, serene neighborhood. The lake paths are delightful and we sighted an array of birds and wildlife. We'll be back!

    Leslie2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • To simply say Jake's lake house was amazing wouldn't do it justice. The house is gorgeous inside and out and the neighborhood is very scenic. Waking up in the master bedroom to the picturesque view of the lake as the morning sun envelopes you with it's warmth was wonderful. This lake house also features a nice entertainment system that connects to your phone via bluetooth and, at reasonable volume level, can fill the house with your favorite music without disturbing the wildlife that is visible from either floor thanks to the floor to ceiling windows that face the lake. Jack is a very gracious host who cares about your experience during your stay. I found the whole process very enjoyable and felt very welcome when I arrived. Do not hesitate to contact Jack about this place, he is very easy to speak with and will appreciate the call. I highly recommend and hope to be able to stay at Jack's lake house again the next time I am in Ann Arbor.

    Christopher2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was a fantastic host, and met us at the house for our very informative check in. The house is very comfortable, and the setting and the view is absolutely beautiful. Close enough to everything you need and want in Ann Arbor, but quiet and removed with a natural peaceful setting. The kitchen and the perfect picture window make for a great morning coffee spot, or a romantic dinner.

    Amy2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great visit to the lake house. House was very open and wonderful natural light. Everything was as described and we cooked a great meal on the grill & kitchen. Jack had fresh linens and stocked refrigerator for us and the location was fantastic.

    Zack2016-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Jacks house is an amazing place to stay! My wife and I went for 4th of July weekend with 3 other friends. Jack was a welcoming host and provided more to us than any other place we have stayed. The house is very roomy and cozy at the same time. Beautiful view of the water and close enough to town to easily grab food when needed! The house was everything it was listed to be, very accurate and the lake in the morning is so amazing! Jack had juice in fridge, coffee and fruit available for us which was awesome. We will be back for sure and I highly suggest a stay here!

  • Sally's Cozy Cottage was very clean and comfortable and met all of our needs. The fire pit and hot tub were also nice extras. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. The cottage is close to Boyne City and a short drive to Petoskey and Lake Michigan. What a great value!

  • Sally is extremely welcoming and makes sure that you enjoy your stay. We had a great time.

    Jake2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was a great host. Flexible with check-in time. House was quiet and comfortable.

    Andrew2017-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I would not recommend this property to anyone. It's got some real issues and seems to be a construction project in progress. From a living space perspective, it's not suitable for more than 2-3 people and there are some items that, if I were responsible for the property, I would address before renting to anyone else. I got taken paying $250 per night over New Years, but it was close to skiing.

    S2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay at Sally's cabin. She was very kind and helpful to any questions that we had about the area. I would definitely stay there again!

    Keith2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sally was very welcoming. Her cottage has everything you could possibly need during your stay. The outdoor hot tub was a huge bonus. Great deal for the price and the close location to Boyne Mountain.

  • We stayed in this cozy cabin and skied at Boyne Mountain. It was super close to the ski resort, which was great! We loved having the kitchen for cooking meals and everything we needed was in the cabin - towels, spices etc. we all enjoyed the hot tub and our kids loved the reclining couch after long days snowboarding.

    Megan2018-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place for people who are looking to ski at Boyne Mountain. We had several International students who had never skied before and it was the perfect place for them to stay close to the mountain and then relax in the hot tub afterwards

The house is right on the lake and offers great lake views right out the window. It was very relaxing to sit on the back deck and enjoy the beautiful summer days. Justin had everything needed in the house to make the stay welcoming, including a variety of indoor and outdoor games. We were with a toddler and the house was also very child friendly. Justin is a great host and was very quick to communicate with us and address any questions or issues. Would gladly stay there again!

  • We loved our stay at the lovely, remote, log home on the lake near Republic in the UP!. It was beautiful, and we had 1 cooler day and 2 very warm days of sun and beauty. What a lovely home in a great location away from the maddening crowd. Everything was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view out over a pretty lake with no neughbors and great woods around you. Only 40 minutes to Marquette for the "big" city. Thanks Michelle for a lovely stay.

  • Perfect place. Beautiful. Very quiet and relaxing.

    Todd2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and her assistant, Marcia were terrific - very responsive and helpful. They both seemed very eager to make sure we had a great time - which we did. We ventured out to Marquette one day ( don't miss the iron works sculpture park in Marquette) but we were content to spend time in the cabin, woods, and water.

    Signe2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin with amazing views and a perfect private lake to relax and enjoy the day on, also near atv trails which was a huge plus!

    Adam2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Another great visit to the cabin! Michelle offers a wonderful cabin in the heart of the UP to enjoy fishing, relaxing, hiking and camp fires. This was our second trip and I highly recommend.

    Tim2014-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, would love to come back. Thank you, Michelle for sharing your beautiful home.

    Renata2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is very nice and located in the Central UP, near Republic. I had not been to Republic in 30 years since I was a kid, and really not much has changed. The cabin is located on a beautiful lake, with canoes and boats that you can use. Also there is a fire pit, fishing pier and swimming raft---so really there is a lot to do at the cabin to keep you occupied. My son enjoyed frog hunting and raspberry picking---and managed to find the tree house which is set back a good distance in the woods. If you are looking for a peaceful week decompressing, this is an excellent choice. As side trips I would reccomend a visit to Presque Isle and jump off the cliffs for a swim, and on your way back to the cabin grab a Pasty from Lawry's in West Ishperming. You can be an honoray yooper only if you eat the whole pasty "with rutabaga" and never addd gravy! Maybe only Ketchup. Overall, great trip!

Sawyer is another nearby village which has a grocery store, wonderful garden store, offering a huge selection of plants, produce and an extensive wine shop. Other things to visit in Sawyer are GreenBush Brewing Company, Joe Hindley Artist Studio, Katherine Doll Clothing Shop, which is located in the old Sawyer Fire House. Apple Cider Century Bike tour is in the fall.
  • Linda was a gracious host and the cabin was exactly what we expected - it was a lovely visit. The cabin was cozy and surrounded by beautiful trees. Linda was communicative and thoughtful. She was also flexible as we had to adjust our arrival and departure times - we arrived pretty late, and she made it easy for us to settle in.

  • Everything was as described (though somehow the rooms were much more spacious than I'd pictured!), but the delight was in the details: the unconventional colors, textural juxtapositions, arty found objects and, of course, Floyd's furniture. We wish we'd spent more time in the place, but it's so near great beaches, antiquing, berry-picking, breweries, biking roads and a bike museum, we were out far more than in. Wood stove (stocked-and-ready) was delightful and warmed the place on a chilly night; we wanted for nothing. Travel companion and I were new to airbnb AND new to traveling together (!), but my first airbnb experience was made easy and pleasant, thanks to Linda's terrific communications.

  • Wonderful cabin in the woods, with all the necessities, and more! Linda and Floyd were great hosts. The bonus of this place is that you get to enjoy unique, handcrafted furniture and interesting art while you stay here. The bed was comfortable, the place was clean and well equipped. I walked to the beach, just over a mile, every day, and it's a clean, spacious uncrowded place to enjoy the sun and water.

  • The cabin was magical and inspiring! Was full of Floyd's & Linda's beautiful and unique art work! Floyd made sure I was stocked with firewood and Linda was super accommodating. The both of them were a great joy to have met and share a beer or two with! I hope to return in the future to stay again in the cabin or try the cottage! All and all great hosts!

  • The cabin has plenty of space to lounge and relax. Linda and Floyd are kind and easy going. The little shops all around area are fun and unique. Looking forward to our return!
