The oldest house in town, fully renovated. Two-story living room with pull-out couch; kitchen with stone counters and dishwasher, two bathrooms with warm floors. Floorboards upstairs a foot wide; queen size bed with view over the trees, creek and porch.
It's a roomy red sawmill that's 260 years old. There is wonderful light from windows set high and low. It's located across the garden from the big grist mill where we live, on two acres of beautiful gardens, creek and woods.
New Lebanon, at the top of Columbia County, New York, is a pretty funky town, not a Norman Rockwell town. Many people drive right through it to go north for antiquing or skiing, to take the scenic pass into Massachusetts or to pick up the nearby NY thruway. Our town is so small that there's only one stoplight, and that's a blinking one. There's no night life to speak of, no sidewalks, and we lack a big grocery store. The upside is that our site right next to the Berkshires is what makes the old sawmill such a good value, and so good for exploring. You can get easily to almost all the places you want to go-- more easily, we find, than from some of the Berkshire towns themselves. And whatever New Lebanon lacks in picket fences, it offers in glorious hillside viewscapes. The town has a remarkable allotment of Shaker history, such as the massive square ruins of the Great Stone Barn at Mount Lebanon. This was recognized by the World Monuments Fund as one of the 100 most significant endangered sites in the world, and it's right here and easy to visit. Lebanon Springs was also utterly famous in the nineteenth century for its warm water spa, frequented by luminaries like Charles Dickens, Mark Twain and the Marquis de Lafayette. The medicinal spring still courses down the hillside, but in obscurity now. There is plenty to enjoy here. Stop at Blueberry Hill Market Cafe for coffee and something delicious for breakfast or lunch. Try M&M's for a late dinner of burgers, wings, and some craft beer, or reserve at Mario's for a fancy meal. Trek by the beaver dams at Hand Hollow Conservation Area. Go to Meissner's on a Saturday at 4 for their antique auctions, where we've found astonishing values. You'll find a lot of information about local options in our online Guidebook. Our location turns out to be an excellent base for the range of travel and exploration in this area, or just for staying put and enjoying a rural escape, as so many of our airbnb guests have told us.
  • The old sawmill is a wonderful place to stay! The house is very comfortable with all the amenities you could need, and Joe is a fantastic host. We had a great stay at the sawmill.

  • A wonderful place to stay! We had a wonderful two days and were so appreciative of this getaway spot :)

    Alison2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, cozy and comfortable historic site to stay at. Joe was very hospitable and friendly. We ended up snowed in for the weekend and the sawmill was spacious enough with a great kitchen to keep us happy and occupied. Very comfortable and clean. I look forward to another get away here again in the future!

  • Such a fabulous stay here! This was my second time staying here, simply because I love the place so much! The sawmill is in beautiful condition, and Joe and Fiona are communicative, friendly, and entirely thoughtful. Couldn't recommend the Sawmill more for a quiet, peaceful weekend.

  • Joe and Fiona were very accommodating. They made our stay much more comfortable and enjoyable. The place is amazing, well organized and well stocked. Highly recommended.

    Kristine2016-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona and Joe's place is a perfect escape! Every detail has been thought of, and the saw mill is even more charming than the pictures. They were perfect hosts, welcoming me upon my arrival and then giving me my privacy the rest of the stay (Fiona even left a fresh bouquet from their garden on the porch for me to enjoy). I loved my stay and would definitely return!

    Sally2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place to stay when you want a quiet and scenic spot with lots of history. Joe and Fiona were very gracious and accommodating hosts. They have thought of everything to make you feel at home and to provide what a traveler might need. Very comfortable home. Very clean. Very quiet. Very interesting building. Lots of books to read. We hope to come back someday!

    Lynne2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at the sawmill was simply amazing. Joe, Fiona and their daughter Josie were great hosts from the start -- so kind, helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable, and we did! The sawmill itself is beautiful, tastefully decorated and clean, not to mention filled with amenities (high-quality too!) and pretty much everything you need. We were so impressed by, and grateful for, the fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms. I wish I could give this place way more than 5 stars! We would love to come back, especially during the warmer months.

    Letizia2016-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay. Allison was very helpful and available when needed. During a blizzard she had a parking spot all shoveled and ready for my arrival. Big stress relief. Clean place with good amenities. Wifi worked perfect.

  • Allison's place was exactly as advertised. She was present to let us in and show us around and was always responsive during our stay. The apartment is a great home base to explore the area. She is a lovely host and I would highly recommend a stay with Allison.

  • We enjoyed our stay, very comfortable place! It was nice to have the kitchenette for basic meals so we didn't have to eat out every meal, and the bed was super comfortable. There isn't a TV, but that's not a drawback, just bring a book or take a walk!

    Erin2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic apartment! Comfortable and clean we had a great stay here. Allison was easy to communicate with and getting into the apartment was a breeze. The perfect spot to stay if you're exploring Western MA! Highly recommend and hope to book here again the next time we make it to the Berkshires.

    Justin2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nous avons surtout apprécié la communication avec Allison; malgré notre annulation de dernière minute, elle a été vraiment compréhensive et m'a même offert de me rembourser les frais de nettoyage ! Ce n'est que partie remise :)

    Marie-Eve2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying here and the apartment met all of our needs. It is so easy to get to and from Tanglewood, so an easy decision for future stays!

    Eryn2016-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a good stay at Allison's place, which is conveniently located for an evening of music at Tanglewood. One thing to note is that it is easy to miss the turn towards her driveway during the night time.

The Writer's Cottage is a tiny white house on a country road; vintage, complete, and inspiring. Built in the nineteenth century, it's perfect for a solo traveler or a pair of travelers exploring the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley. If you like rustic buildings, you'll be a fan of the cottage; it's an incredibly cozy time warp. Find an airy loft up narrow enclosed stairs, but everything you need to be comfortable is right on the first floor. Enjoy the orchard outside and an acre of lawn.
The Writer's Cottage is in private use until December of 2018, but you are welcome to book for holiday use at the end of the year, and for dates in 2019. For its small size, the cottage has several discrete spaces. Downstairs is a bedroom with a queen size bed and two cozy chairs. A well-equipped kitchenette has a ship lap vaulted ceiling and a round table that seats four, plus an ample mudroom for jackets, skis, boots and fishing poles. A writing room is just big enough for a cozy sofa and a desk, with a view of the orchard. The sofa opens up into a comfortable single bed, good for either an adult or a child. This room is also a good place to put a crib. There's a narrow bathroom next door. Up an amazing tiny enclosed staircase is an open loft space perfect for meditation, music, reading, privacy, or painting. The loft could be an extra bedroom too. We can put a double air mattress on a bed frame up there at your request, if you're willing to navigate those steep stairs with care at night! Note that the stairs lead right into the downstairs bedroom, which may be a privacy issue for some. This is an ideal spot for a weekend respite from the city, or as a base to explore the area. It calls to people working on creative projects, or those looking for a longer hiatus. It has all the important amenities, like good cell service, light, and dedicated wireless internet. It also offers quality linens and pillows, shampoos and soaps, nice china and good coffee, but no dishwasher and no tv. The doorways are narrow and the upper loft space is only six feet tall. But there's lots of old wood and so much charm. Relax on deck chairs or the hammock out back, on the porch out front, or set up lunch at the table and chairs on the grassy acre outside the back door. Some more features: even in midsummer, this area offers generally comfortable evening temperatures, but for the occasional night when it's hot, you'll find air conditioning available. People tell us that they like to know more about how we care for the beds and linens, so here is a little detail. We use sheets with high thread counts and wash them in Seventh Generation natural detergent. Pillows and comforters are down-alternative. We use protective anti-allergen covers for pillows, and encase the bed's mattress and box spring too. There's a place for hangers on the back of the bedroom door. For longer stays, there's a chest of drawers and a full-size closet up in the loft.
The Writer's Cottage is a great retreat both in summer and winter, whether you prefer a cozy break or search for culture and action. It's perfectly positioned for taking advantage of the Berkshires, including so much fine music, theater, food, art and natural beauty that you can't possibly do it all justice no matter how hard you try. Tanglewood is about 20 minutes away, and so is the Kripalu Yoga Center. There is a swift, scenic route to get to both of those from here, through pasture and forest, and ending with a wonderful view of the Stockbridge Bowl. In the winter, ski trails at Jiminy Peak or Bousquet are less than a half hour away, and Butternut is just a little farther. Hiking trails and conservancies abound. In the springtime, it's great to see the leafy woods and gardens emerge. It's locavore and farmer's market heaven in the summer and fall. Another summertime treat hidden nearby is Queechy Lake, with lifeguard and sandy shore, one of the cleanest and most delicious lakes in New York state. There's also a nice local park in town, with two newly refurbished tennis courts. Check out our online guidebook for a full listing of the places we love most around here for visit or a meal. There are seven fine art museums, eight theater companies, three Shaker villages and two orchestral venues within an hour's radius. We're a good jumping -off point for visiting the Berkshire towns-- it takes about 20 minutes to get to Lenox, Pittsfield and West Stockbridge in Massachusetts, for example. You're also only about twenty minutes from several other historic towns and villages of New York, such as Old Chatham, Canaan, and Spencertown.
  • Upon our arrival Fiona warmly welcomed us, and made us feel immediately at home when she showed us around. Joe set up the heating later, so that we would be warm and comfortable, which we were. While we chatted, Fiona and Joe offered some great suggestions as to what to visit near town and where to eat while we were visiting, peruse their guidebook, it’s well researched and updated. Tegan was equally welcoming and friendly when we later met her, she anticipated our needs and prepped the cottage perfectly. After we came back from Kripalu (take the scenic route), and stayed a few more days, again, we found the cottage impeccably set-up. Returning to the cottage following an intensive workshop at Kripalu, only made us appreciate even more how comfortable, quiet and nurturing the cottage was. A lot of thought and care was put into running this accommodation. There are some nice touches upstairs in the alcove, and it was lovely to read, relax and have a space to meditate in before we left. On our last day, we enjoyed a walk near the cottage on one of its winding roads, the autumn poster-perfect scenery bewonders. New Lebanon is a burgeoning historical rich town, definitely worth a visit, especially on week-ends. The writer’s cottage is a little gem.

  • We loved the Writer's Cottage! The place looks exactly as in the pictures, but somehow, even better and very clean. It is cozy and special and we especially enjoyed the small details like: The stocked kitchen, the sweet treats and the aromatic soaps. There are many windows that bring great day light in, lots of space, real quiet neighborhood and Joe was very respondent to all we asked. We really had a great and quiet weekend, just as we wished!

    Meir2016-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much! Terrific location, and comfortable accommodations. We would gladly return in the spring.

    Milina2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's place was fantastic! Tegan hosted me and checked me in. It was the perfect little house. Very quiet and private but the hosts live very close by. Tegan brought over fresh picked flowers one day from her garden. The house is beautifully done, the bed is very comfortable with great linens and lots of fresh fluffy pillows. The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked with fresh eggs and coffee. I stayed 10 nights and could have easily stayed longer. The location is close to other towns within a 20-30 min drive but you do need a car to explore the area. If you need a break from the city, this is a real retreat! Highly recommended!!

    Vanty2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • It's all true. Add our glowing reviews to all the others. The house is just as pictured, clean, very well equipped and a comfortable, cozy place to stay. We were using it as a base to visit Tanglewood and the Berkshires, and it worked out perfectly. We would go back happily.

    Dorothy2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • From my arrival to my departure, I felt so welcome at the Writers' Cottage. I stayed 8 nights for an intensive training and heard many horror stories from my colleagues about their accommodations and experiences, which made me even more grateful for this wonderful place to call home for a week. Clean and comfortable; updated amenities including a washer/dryer with all the charming touches still intact; a place to which I could retreat at the end of the day, write and watch the simple joys of nature from the orchard or little writing room. I miss it already and hope to return again. I highly recommend this sweet, sweet cottage to anyone who appreciates solitude, vintage charm and yet, wants the amenities to be 21st C. Thank you!

    Linda2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Writer’s Cottage was exactly what we expected and needed! Tegan was super helpful at check in; so helpful that we didn’t need to ask any questions during our stay! Cottage was exactly as described, and the bed was extremely comfy. The upstairs room is perfect for meditating, but the ceilings are a bit low up there for full extension of arms during yoga. There is plenty of room downstairs for yoga, so this definitely was not an issue for us. Wonderful couples weekend away! (And snacks plus regular & chocolate milk in the fridge was a bonus!)

    Cheryl2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! There is a lot of stuff to do nearby- museums, good restaurants and hiking. The space was cozy and well appointed. We especially appreciated the wealth of local info including what was going on during our visit.

The Honeysuckle Rose Farm Cottage is located About 10 minutes from Tanglewood and less time to Barrington Stage Theater in Pittsfield, Ma. This quiet country cottage is about 1 easy mile from an excellent restaurant, fast food and a convenience store. Uber, Lyft and a private driver available
Honeysuckle Rose Cottage is truly in the heart and center of the Berkshires and all its’ wonderful attractions. The highest mountain in Massachusetts, Mt. Greylock is a 15 minutes away drive. Spectacular views & hikes and delicious dining at the summits’ Bascom Lodge. The highest natural body of water, Berry pond, at Pittsfield state forest, is only a 10 minute drive from honeysuckle rose cottage. In the same neighborhood you should also go and see and hike around Balance Rock.
  • Honeysuckle Rose is a clean, and quaint space. The beds are comfortable and the cabin, though relatively small, does not feel claustrophobic- lots of windows and open space. The small entry to the shower was not a problem for us- shower was well lit and large. Washer and dryer are a nice extra. There are lots of places to enjoy nature within a 15 minute drive. Paul was accommodating but not invasive. Our experience was positive.

    Kim2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place is great for a Berkshire getaway, right by Tanglewood and all the other offerings in the area! Especially loved the feline greeting committee - we would recommend and stay again!

    Alexandra2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, unexpectedly spacious inside, nicely decorated inside, and very comfortable. We’d happily stay here again.

  • This was my second time staying at Honeysuckle Rise Cottage. We liked our first stay so much I've booked in advance for several more dates this year!

    Mirea2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is truly a special place. I came here to attend a funeral which was situated right down the road. I’m only sorry I didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy the property more. Gorgeous inside and out!! Immaculately clean. Epic yard and fire pit. Super comfy bed, pillows and linens. Pictures don’t do it justice!!! Two beds and a living room with pull out couch. (So two full beds plus pull out) I was traveling solo and opted for the bed adjacent to the kitchen which was extremely comfortable. Upon surveying the other bed it did feel “crinkly”. I’m not sure if it was plastic covered or not since I had the place to myself I opted for the most comfortable option. Didn’t have much time for television but did enjoy Netflix for a while. Other options seemed to be available. WiFi info is readily accessible. I would be back here in a heartbeat particularly to enjoy the beautiful surroundings or for a romantic weekend. While I never met my host my needs were well anticipated. Plenty of linens and towels, soap and shampoo&conditioner in the shower. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks for having me Paul!

    Siobhan2018-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • The television talks to you when you hit the volume button. Pretty cool! It was very clean and there’s a very nice cat that’s about the size of a tiger (exaggeration) that was very friendly. I loved it.

    Zaen2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four, including two teenagers, had a wonderful two nights at this cabin! There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, yet it was cozy and homey. We did not need to use AC or heat, but both are available. Fans are also available, including a freestanding one and a ceiling fan. The cabin was described very accurately in the description. The small entrance to the shower was not an issue. I am a larger woman, but I could get through quite fine. Paul himself is very friendly and laid-back. I felt very comfortable speaking with him, and he offered to set up the fold out couch for us when we arrived. The yard in the back extends to woods, and there is a fire pit. If you want to make a fire, Paul sells columns of wood for $40. We declined to do this, but would consider that if we were staying longer. There is also a lovely neighbor cat named Ziggy, Who roams the property and is very comfortable around people. If you are cat lover, this is a big plus. My daughter was thrilled! Paul has a list of local places to eat, and we highly recommend Flo’s diner (which has vegetarian options) as well as good old diner food, and international house of tacos. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. In the fridge in the cabin, there is a few condiments, and there is coffee in the freezer. The coffee maker work just fine. The amenities were very nice, including Wi-Fi and Netflix on a large screen TV. We were in the area in order to go to Tanglewood and museums, both of which were wonderfully convenient. Tanglewood is about a 15 minute drive away, and MassMOCA and Clark institute are about 30 to 45 minutes away. We definitely plan on coming back to stay in this wonderful gem!

    Shelagh2018-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was an excellent cottage with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay, I only wished we could have stayed longer and would have no hesitation recommending it.

Come enjoy all the Berkshires has to offer while staying in this comfortable, modern cabin in the woods - stroll, bike, or drive to the lake's sandy beach for a refreshing dip. Canoe available at lake for guest use. Enjoy starry skies in the private yard with fire pit and hot tub. Use of a telescope for stargazing. Wifi, smart TV's, comfortable memory foam beds, kitchen stocked with utensils, amenities, coffee, tea, spices & condiments.
Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival is just down the road, and Lenox / Tanglewood is a very scenic short drive away. Visit the cute Sherwood Shoppe for home-cooked meals including breakfast all day long, beverages and food to stock the fridge with, and take some local grass-fed meat home to grill burgers on the propane grill. We try to think of anything you might need to forget all your cares and relax - please let us know if there's anything else that would help in that aim.
Community is free of streetlights, and is mainly dirt roads, so I ask guests to try to arrive during daylight for their own convenience, but this is not mandatory. Snow: road clearing is quick and thorough, but please use caution during snow or muddy conditions (usually early spring) Some roads can be steep, as this is very hilly territory, but we have provided maps to show you how to get anywhere in the community via the easiest and flattest routes (You do NOT need W4D). I send different routes depending on the season, prior to your stay. We have also provided detailed routes to the lakes, where the canoe is docked, and so on (in house guide book).
  • Loved staying at Alison's place. My business partner and I went for a quick company retreat to do some summer planning and talk about our values. The location + house lent itself so well for that. Even though it rained most of the time we were there, we got out, walked around, took a plunge in the ice cold lake, and enjoyed the hot tub. The neighborhood is beautiful. Seems like there is lots do nearby but we didn't venture out during the day or night, except for casual strolls. The house itself is fully equipped with tons of resources -- a great TV, hot tub, comfortable rooms, and well-stocked kitchen! Would come back :)

    Fahad2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • I love this magical place. It is very private and so sweet, and the decor is fun and delights with every gaze in any direction. The hot tub was great, and the beds were unbelievably comfortable! Alison was great too, very quick to respond, especially with our particular needs.

  • Very well advertised. It was a little farther.from the lake than expected but being surrounded by trees is always peaceful. The amenities were plentiful and there were even board games to play at night!

A quiet, secluded house with fireplace and jacuzzi on a clean swimmable lake near Jacob's Pillow and other Berkshires attractions.
2 Bedroom house on a half acre on beautiful clean lake. High speed wireless internet which reaches the lake, washer-dryer, large deck and sunroom. The original house was a single story open plan. We added a second floor which includes a spacious queen bedroom and a fireplace as well as a spacious bathroom with granite counter tops and a large Kohler jacuzzi. There is a memory foam 3 inch topper to the bed for extra comfort. The downstairs has a bedroom with a full size bed and closet. There is an additional bathroom downstairs with shower. We also added a beautiful sunroom with a full futon couch. The downstairs has a wood burning stove for a cozy night indoors. The downstairs is also open and spacious with wood floors, the kitchen and upstairs are remodeled and furnished. Down by the water there is a fire pit for a marshmallow or hot dog on a stick barbeque over an open flame. Make sure to drench the fire when leaving to go back upstairs. The lake is clean and very nice for swimming. There is a sandy beach across the way that you can walk to from the house for an easy way into the water. Don't go into the water from the property as it is muddy and slippery. The beach across the house is private and has nice sand all the way into the water. The house is 5 minutes from Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, 15 minutes from the Dream Away Lodge (quite the night spot! with live music and great food and ambiance) 25 minutes from Shakespeare and Co and Tanglewood. The house is in a forest and prone to visitations from wild critters. Be sure not to leave any food outside. Put the fire out completely before leaving the fire pit by the lake. Field mice are everywhere but they are friendly and non-toxic. You may hear them in the walls but they are docile and keep to themselves.
The forest and the clean lake are the reasons I like the neighborhood. There is also a quaint general store in the forest that serves breakfast. Lots of local color and friendly helpful people. New England style friendliness is reserved but positive.
  • Arrive here in a high framed, 4 WD vehicle with toilet paper, bar soap, a clean kitchen sponge/scrubber, cleaning supplies, kitchen and washer detergent, sheets and towels, shampoo and conditioner, all cooking supplies and a dump pass (what else to do with garbage?!) not caring about mildew smells, stained and ripped furniture, a broken headboard, sticky and very few cooking tools and place settings, little kitchen or clothing storage space, already containing personal items, maybe a dead mouse and mouse scat, indoor mosquitos, no real swimmable or even reachable beach front (not the posted picture at all!) and you will be fine here. I think it may be considered a notch above camping? All of that said, I will say that owner Nana seems to be a very nice, communicative and responsive host.

    Kate2015-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a little slice of paradise in Sherwood forest. The house was very clean and comfortable, great music soundsystem we could use, not to mention the stunning decor and beautiful views. We went swimming in the very clean lake and we even saw a red salamander next to the house. Breakfast at Sherwood forest shoppe was yummy and we were not too far off from visiting Tangewood for some music. I would highly recommend staying at this place if you want some peace and quiet to get away from it all.

  • This is a very lovely home. Nana was a good host. She provided great tips on the area and came to help with a light that was out.. The location was great if you are going to events at Jacob's Pillow. It was very close. Very quiet retreat. Internet worked well which was important to me since I had to work. There is a nice small beach so you can swim in the lake and it is just around the other side of the lake. It was very hot when we were there.

    Penny And Makaila2013-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We truly enjoyed our stay at Nana's house on Little Robin Lake. The house was clean, well equipped for cooking and relaxing, and exactly as portrayed in the pictures. The sunroom on the back of the house was our favorite feature and we spent a lot of time enjoying the peaceful surroundings there. Make sure you don't miss the DreamAway Lodge for delicious food, music and great people when you visit. I highly recommend Nana's house if you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the beautiful Berkshires.

    Aaron2014-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • What to say about such a magical spot? Nana’s place is just fabulous. Great vibes inside and out, not generic or staged-feeling and very clean. Reading in the sunroom was a favorite activity and the kitchen is fully stocked for home cooking. The bed was very comfortable and the views from the bedroom and deck are really wonderful. Morning coffee sitting down at the water was also a favorite activity. I brought my girlfriend to this part of the Berkshires so that I could propose to her at The Dream Away Lodge. Nana’s place was the absolute perfect spot to come back to - especially with my new fiancée.

    Michael2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay! Beautiful home, very peaceful and relaxing. Everything was immaculate - the kitchen was wonderful, bathrooms, everything - we appreciated the washer/dryer as well. The sunroom is the star of the show! Couldn't pry ourselves out of that room to save our lives. The house is SO quiet - great for sleeping. Lots of gorgeous windows. Didn't use the jacuzzi, woodstove or fireplace (it was too warm during our stay) but all looked lovely. We'd rebook in an INSTANT! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality - I recommend this place highly.

    Erin2011-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the lake house in the Berkshires, and it was a lovely experience. The house is unusually well stocked, especially the kitchen. The sunroom was wonderful, perhaps the best part. It made for a pleasant retreat, even when it poured for two days. Highly recommended!

    Cynthia2010-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect fall getaway. Quiet, peaceful home in beautiful setting. In mid Oct all of the leaves were changing, the colors were stunning. Enjoyed the two fireplaces (Nana was nice enough to have fires going in both fireplaces when we arrived in the evening... very cozy) and the jacuzzi was great. Also highly recommend the dream away lodge 15 minutes down the road. We went on a Sunday night and had a blast. Live music and great atmosphere.

Private and spacious guest house off of the main house where I live. Private entrance, queen pillow-top bed, private bathroom and mini-kitchenette (no stove) with mini fridge and sink. Working fireplace. Lovely garden view with sitting area. 10 min drive to Lenox and 5 min to downtown Pittsfield. Right down the street from MA Audubon Canoe Meadows with hiking trails.
Private guest studio off of the main house where I live with my two children, ages 6 and 9 and friendly dog. It comfortably fits 2 and is spacious and airy.
Location! 10 min straight shot to Lenox or 5 min to downtown Pittsfield. On a main road but tucked away with a private yard that makes you feel secluded and private. Beautiful preserved hiking area 1/4 mile away.
  • This is great value for the Pittsfield area—it was our own private space with everything we could need for a few days. We didn't get a chance to meet Molly, but she was very responsive over text whenever we had a question.

    Nina2017-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying in Molly's guesthouse! We loved the studio space-cozy, artsy, and peaceful. An easy and quick drive into downtown Pittsfield, and also easy access to everything the Berkshires has to offer. Molly was a great and friendly host!

  • Molly’s place was close to Tanglewood yet private enough for peace & quiet.

    Kerri2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Molly's place is fantastic! Very clean and adorably decorated. It is exactly what we wanted and expected. Lots of natural light, access to outdoor space, close to downtown Pittsfield and other attractions in the area. We visited the Hancock Shaker Village, Herman Mellville's Arrowhead, and the Barrington Theatre Company and it was all very convenient from Molly's house. I would 1000% return to Molly's place to catch a show or relax in the Berkshires. The only downside is we didn't get to meet Molly's puppy! :)

  • Wonderful guest house suite in Pittsfield. The location was perfect for me as it was halfway between Lenox and Williamstown. Very private accommodations in a nicely decorated master suite. Newer master bath, very comfortable bed and bonus kitchen area for morning coffee. Would definitely stay there again.

Our place is a central location in Berkshire County, short drive to restaurants and shops; art and culture, skiing and hiking also close by. You’ll love this former train station( next to the Housatonic RR tracks) which is on three acres between a chapel, the scenic Housatonic River and October Mountain. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Entrance is off a rear deck to a shared entrance foyer. There are three steps from the driveway to the deck and one step into the foyer. Your room is off the foyer, and with the bathroom is fully contained . You will be given keys for the foyer door and the door to your room. You also can control the heat in your room. You have a coffee maker, microwave and a small refrigerator.
Tanglewood is about 6 miles away, and Kripula 6.3 miles. Bousquet Ski Resort is 3 miles north, and Jiminy Peak 16 miles.
  • My husband and I stayed at the Station House over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful time. We had tickets to Tanglewood and the location of the house is perfect to get there (about a 10 minute drive). Charlie and Margaret met us on arrival, showed us the space (a room with a private bath) and made sure we had everything we needed. There were a lot of thoughtful touches, like local cider in the fridge, maps of the area with things to do and dining suggestions, and a coffee maker with a great coffee and tea selection. We only noticed the train once and it was not a bother at all. We also really enjoyed seeing all the bunnies in the yard. We will definitely plan to stay here again if we find ourselves in Lenox!

    Christine2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cozy place near Kripalu. Train was not noisy at all and was really fun to watch in the evening.

    Rhonda2018-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in this charming, comfy, cozy country home. The home had ample parking and the hosts were just a call/email away. The area is friendly and a few minute drive to the local town.

    Meghan2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great couple of nights in this excellent self contained room. It was very convenient and comfortable and Charlie as a welcoming and helpful host. Highly recommended.

    Farquhar2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for a night but found this place to be cozy and comfortable- we had everything we needed for a quick stay. Parking was convenient and location is quiet and peaceful. Charlie was there to greet us when we arrived and share a bit of history about the place. Would totally stay here again!

  • Stationhouse is my lodging of choice when I'm in the Berkshire area which I am frequently for yoga trainings. Very comfortable bed, cozy, quiet, private, easily accessible travel wise and easy to get in and out with a private entrance. Plenty of room to settle in could even set up a yoga mat. Very nice hosts. Nice seasonal touches for the holiday Nice comfy towels, seasonal hand soap, and beverages and a special holiday treat!

    Nancy2017-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely residence in an interesting historical house, right along the train tracks and a river with access for canoeing. Very peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the vintage decor evocative of the old train station days which I found charming. Charlie and Margaret were extremely easy to communicate with and accommodating with my last minute travel needs. I'd certainly go back.

    Astrid2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place conveniently located to Lenox and Stockabridge and yet away enough from the crowds. Charlie and Margaret are wonderful hosts, and we truly felt relaxed at their place. And the bed is so comfy!

Relax in our bright, very spacious, and quiet loft, on six open acres. Lounge on the stone terrace, under the stars, by a cozy fire, near the garden. 35 min to Northampton, 35 min to MassMoca, 10 min to Berkshire East. Wi-Fi, satellite TV , cell coverage, Hearthstone wood stove. Fully outfitted kitchen, home made granola, milk, beverages. Two hybrid bikes available for use. The pics don't do the apartment justice- there are 3, 5-foot long skylights, and a cathedral ceiling= much natural light!
The apartment has a queen sized bed, coffee maker (with coffee provided), plenty of pots, pans and utensils, and a new 39" HD TV with DIRECTV satellite service. The space is newly renovated with nine new windows, and new paint on the walls, ceilings, and floors. There are three, 5 foot long skylights on the slanted ceiling- one in the living room, one in the kitchen, and one in the bathroom. There are just about six acres of open field, which faces south/southwest, and a beautiful vegetable garden with stone terraces at both ends. We also built a Black Locust pergola at the south end of the garden, which sits atop a Goshen stone terrace (we just planted grapes, but they're still very short!). There is also a fire pit at one end of the garden, and an outdoor fireplace at the other end. There are flower gardens in several spots on the property. We are 100 yards from the public library, which, itself, has recently been upgraded in a major way. Our home also houses a one room post office (300 sq. feet), which is open from 12pm to 4pm, M-F, and 8:30am to 11:30am on Saturday. It's rarely busy...
Our house is centered in the Plainfield Historical district. Plainfield is a town of less than 600 people. Very nice walks and bike rides, right outside our front door! Here's a link to a blog write up (with pics) of one guest's recent stay here... http://coreylynntuckerphotography.com/2017/12/30/non-traditional-christmas-getaway-plainfield-massachusetts-airbnb/#
  • We loved our stay at Peter’s — it’s a very special place! The handmade, personal touches added to the homey charm and the exquisite outdoor areas. Wow! It’s stunning; a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. The helpful tips and treats were great too! If we find ourselves in the area again we’ll certainly be back.

  • The apartment was beautiful, with lots of light and excellent rural views. The wood stove was a nice touch and Peter (the host) was extremely nice and accommodating. Every airbnb host should take notes from him. The apartment was nicely furnished, clean and is simply put, a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Very comfortable experience for my wife and I.

    Brian2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This space is cozy, welcoming, and has everything you might want or need away from home. Peter was so hospitable, friendly, and communicative. My mom and I had a great weekend and would happily book with Peter again!

    Mallory2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • I was surprised about what previous reviewers said about the pictures not doing the place justice because I already thought the place looked great from the pictures! Being in the space I can totally agree. The skylights and attention to the subtle decorations and color patterns are so pleasing to the eye. The couch is maybe the most comfortable I ever sat on. It really is a joy and driving through the area is incredibly picturesque. I would love to stay here again.

Our house is easy to find and located on a quiet, dead-end street within walking distance to downtown Pittsfield. There you will find Berkshire Museum, The Colonial Theater, Barrington Stage Company, and The Beacon Cinema as well many restaurants and eateries. Because of our central location, we are just a short drive to just about anywhere you’d want to go in the Berkshires—Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, MASS MoCA, Kripalu Yoga Center, Berkshire Theatre Festival, and Jiminy Peak, as well as many bucolic hiking spots from easy to challenging.
  • We had a lovely stay! Both Erica and Jeannette were warm and welcoming -- happy to engage but also gave us space. Carl and Bella were a treat too!

  • Enjoyed my stay. Hostesses were helpful, friendly & respectful. They made my stay easy. The home is peaceful and clean with out being antiseptic.. The way the room is situated it gives privacy. Super close to downtown, yet on a quiet street. Did I say clean?

  • Jeanette and Erica were wonderful hosts and helped me during my stay very wonderfully. Welcomed me into their home immediately and their son carl was an absolute joy. Would highly recommend if staying in the area!

  • I just had to stop by again on my way through the Berkshires! Jeanette & Erica are kind and helpful, their place is so stylish and clean, and it’s clear they have thought of every last detail to make a stay wonderful. Also the location is so good - don’t miss the fab local frozen yogurt place... or a short trip over to Kripalu. Looking forward to staying next time I’m in town!

    Amanda2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanette, Erica, Carl, and Bella were the highlight of my weekend; I enjoyed my time with them tremendously and look forward to the time when we can all be together again! The house was lovely; filled with many interesting things and colors. Jeanette is a Feng Shui expert and this could be felt and observed throughout the home. My room was comfortable (and well appointed) and sharing the large clean bathroom was not an issue at all. My hosts were generous and every way, which made my stay with them a pleasure! Their CUTE baby Carl and affable dog Bella were icing on the cake.

    Craig2013-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanette, Erica and family couldn't have been more gracious in making us feel like we were part of their lovely family! The airconditioner in the bedroom was very comfortable with the heat in the Northeast. We were surprised how close Pittsfield is to Stockbridge, Lenox and Tanglewood. Dining, shopping and entertainment are all nearby. We would give them 5+ (we would recommend them very highly). Joan & Bob

    Joan 2013-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanette & Erica were friendly and easygoing hosts - we spent two nights there. The listing completely lived up to our expectations and was as described online. The location is very convenient for exploring the neighboring towns as well as for getting to trailheads and hiking areas. Highly recommend this accommodation.

Our place is on a gentle flowing river, close to waterfalls, walks and the Berkshire cultural sites like Tanglewood and Jacobs Pillow . You’ll love our place because of the river, the deck, the hot tub; complete tranquility and a home away from home. Close to some great sites and activities, far enough away to escape. Our place is good for couples, friends and solo adventurers. Snowboarders/Skiers (or snow bunnies) and families can have great fun too! Sit back, relax and enjoy our home!
  • I liked it so much I came back for another trip. Amazing place and the hot tub is an awesome feature

  • If you are looking for a quiet place to stay in Chester I would highly recommend this house. The view is outstanding, and contact with Patrick was easy and with quick answers. The inside of the home you couldn't ask for anymore. I know I am definitely going back.

    Linda2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The property is beautiful! The pictures of the backyard and view of the creek do not do it justice. The house is very homey and the nieghborhood is quiet. Lots of hiking and outdoor activities around. The hike to the falls at Sanderson Brook was an easy hike, minutes from the house and a more trails for longer hikes. For a quiet weekend away, it was perfect! Small town and small markets, stop and shop was located at 40 minutes away. 2 places to eat a block away from the house but otherwise pretty out of the way from everything else, but exactly what I was looking for. Patrick was prompt with his messages and called to check in upon my check in. His availability and communication left nothing to be desired. Fantastic experience, certainly recommended for anyone looking for a scenic, quiet weekend away. Thanks Patrick!

  • Enjoyed the hottub and view. Will definitely be back again.

    Chantel2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, relaxing get-away at Patrick's, hanging out of the deck, enjoying the view and sound of the river. The well-maintained and beautiful house is very clean and comfortable. We wished we could have spent more than a few days there.

  • What a charming home! Turn of the last century house with modern updates tucked away in sleepy Chester, Mass. The town doesn't have the amenities like big groceries, box stores, etc., so plan accordingly. For our trip, this was the ideal base camp for tanglewood and poking around the pioneer valley. Best part was falling asleep with the windows open and listening to the river just outside.

    Kevin2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay!

    Amanda2018-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for our anniversary. It was super clean, and the hot tub was nice to use. It is in the middle of no where but you are close to some markets and restaurants and only a short car ride away from some cities like Westfield. Lots of cool hiking trails nearby and the scenery is just amazing. I would definitely stay here again and I would definitely recommend Patrick and Fiona’s place!!!

  • Branden and Andy are great hosts. The location is great, walking distance from many different restaurants, activities and shops. There was a very detailed listing of places to go and things to do in the apartment. The directions were easy and convenient, and the hosts are very gracious. The apartment is certainly big enough for more than one person, but I enjoyed having the space to myself.

    Rhei2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Branden was a very tentative host who responded to any questions or needs we had within minutes. The apartment was exceptionally clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious. We appreciate Branden and Andy for working to make the apartment as comfortable as possible and it was so nice to be able to have our dog spend the trip with us. There was a nice size yard for her to run in. Great hosts, thank you

  • Great space in a historic house and location. Clean, warm and spacious.

  • This was a cool, funky old house in a walkable neighborhood of other cool, old homes. Close to the town center, easy to find, good communication, good checkin procedure, easy to get in and out. Has a great second story screened porch facing the back yard. Clean and modern appointments. Smallish, well-stocked kitchen -- we made dinner for four pretty easily.

  • Lovely spot with well appointed kitchen!

    Jenna2018-03-12T00:00:00Z

  • Branden & Andy’s place is really cute. I enjoyed a long weekend here with family. It’s very close to the little downtown area, it was warm and inviting as well. I love the easy automated check in and privacy. They were super kind and understanding when we made a little too much noise. This is a cute little apartment in the Berkshires!

A wonderful welcoming house in a beautiful residential neighborhood. Our favorite things to do within 15 minutes are Tanglewood, Kripalu , Mt Greylock, the Norman Rockwell Museum, skiing and hiking nearby. Our home is centrally located to all of the fun things to do in the Berkshires. We've lived here for over 20 years and are happy to provide helpful insights for your stay. One of the reasons we love the Berkshires is that each season offers wonderfully unique experiences for any visitor.
The large guest suite/studio is perfect for three people with a comfortable king-sized bed, twin bed and plus a queen-sized air mattress can be added to accommodate more guests. The spacious room also offers a private full bath, seating area (loveseat, TV and coffee table ) plus a large walk-in closet for your belongings. A mini-refrigerator is provided to guests as well as coffee maker. The guest room is located on our second floor so there are steps to get into our home as well as into the guest area.
We live directly across the street from an elementary school so the area is busy for a small period of time each morning and each afternoon when school is in session. Otherwise it is a diverse and safe neighborhood with kids traveling back and forth to the playground and adults walking, biking and running.

    Birgit2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication and quick response. Great value. Very large and clean room with plenty of space to spread out. Hosts were very accommodating!

  • My stay was stress-free and relaxing. Super clean , comfortable with lots of extra touches that really made things easy. Josie and Scott were gracious and friendly. Josie even batted 2 for 2 on restaurant advice in town, as I loved both places. Completely satisfied with my 4-day stay, and would do so again.

  • What a lovely spot! Huge private room, perfect for a weekend away. We came up for a concert at Tanglewood, and this was ideal - only about 15 minutes away, and it was clean, comfy and just a really great spot. Megan (Josie's daughter) checked us in, and showed us everything we needed. (And had made some delicious banana bread for us - so good we had to bring the rest home!). We'll certainly stay again when we come up to the area. Thanks for a great weekend!

  • Josie’s place was clean, quiet, lovely, and thoughtful. Scott gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and also gave us helpful local tips. We very much enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended!

  • Josie’s home and hospitality made our weekend getaway exceptional, a really super host. Friendly and never intrusive.

  • Josie’s place is really great! The room is spacious and cozy at the same time. The bathroom is lovely, with a huge vanity so you can really spread out. The king sized bed is very comfortable- I slept well and woke up refreshed. It’s sparkling clean and quiet. Josie and Scott and their family are warm and welcoming- it really felt like I was staying with my own family for the week. They were friendly and helpful and gave me the space that I needed- a perfect balance. I loved having the cats in the house- they are warm and welcoming too. And yes, as promised, the banana bread is wonderful! The neighborhood is quiet, and obviously you couldn’t ask for a nicer world than the Berkshires! They have plenty of guidebooks and recommendations in the room- I was at Kripalu for the week so I didn’t venture out, but I know they would’ve been helpful with any info I needed. I hope to return to Kripalu, and when I do, I’ll definitely reserve this cozy room again!

    Jen2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very welcome in Josie's house, and were impressed by the spaciousness of the upstairs suite, with private bathroom, huge bed, and plenty of space. Josie's husband was very helpful and made us feel right at home!

  • Friendly hosts, Very clean and comfortable room! 3 rooms to choose from, all nicely decorated. I chose the room in the back near the bathroom. My bed was comfortable the bathroom was very clean. There is road noise but I'm used to that since I also live on a busy street. I slept well! The guest area downstairs has coffee and nibbles for breakfast though I did not partake. Very good value and I would not hesitate to book again for my Tanglewood trips.

  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. They immediately welcomed us and made us feel like family. We were lucky enough to be there when Donna baked a yummy chocolate pudding pie which we got to enjoy. They had some adorable, clean rooms avaliable. We picked the room that was located right across from a bathroom. Also, the home was located on a main road so it was very easy to find.

Our Quiet Cottage is in the forest minutes from a fresh water lake. Hiking trails are abundant in the area. For winter guests you are within 30 minutes of Butternut Ski resort. There are cross country ski trails throughout the Berkshires and four other Ski resorts to choose from a bit north of our house. There are great restaurants nearby and cultural activities year round. It's a great place to rest, read and recharge.
Our Cottage in Sherwood Forest is private and on 1/4 acre of land, a few minutes walking distance from the beautiful 88 acre lake and 20 minutes to the famous cultural attractions. We have two small bedrooms. One with a full size bed (Brand new with a pillow top)and the second bedroom has a single futon. The kitchen has a coffee maker, fridge, toaster, stove and oven. We supply some dishes, utensils and basics spices if you want to cook. The living room has a full size pullout futon. We have medium speed internet service. We have brochures and maps of the local attractions for exploring the area. The Appalachian trail is near so that can be a great hike. We have a General store that is within walking distance that has recently been spruced up and offers some gluten free homemade treats. They offer a great breakfast all day! Enjoy the quiet of the Berkshires. The cottage is great for a couple. We recommend it for a couple or a young family since it is small. There is a bus from New York CIty to Lee. But you still need a car to get to the house which is about 7 miles away. We ask our guests to bring sheets and towels since we don't have laundry facilities onsite. We do have a few blankets and comforters.
The Neighborhood is quiet and serene and we can recharge after being busy in the city. The lake is a short walk from the house. We do have neighbors nearby but we rarely see them.
  • Mary Ann's cottage was perfect for a quiet weekend getaway! It was clean and cozy when we arrived. The beach area was a short walk from the house and we enjoyed a couple nice mornings there. The heater kept us nice and warm and wifi/cell service (was not needed very much), but efficient when it was needed. Would definitely book again.

  • A very nice little private spot, a quick walk to the lake. Comfy beds and minimal but cozy furnishings. Lovely to sit out on the deck and sip coffee and the weather was PERFECT the week we were there. Only thing that could make it better would be a fire place but we did like the furnace they had.

    Erin2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Mary Ann and Mikes sweet cottage in Becket. It was the perfect 'home base' for visiting tanglewood, Jacobs pillow, the dreamaway lodge, Lennox and Great Barrington. We did lots of great hikes nearby in Becket too. The cottage was the perfect size, cozy and the kitchen great for packing picnics. The bed was very comfy too! The lake was also beautiful but it was a bit cold to swim this past week. We'd request staying here again if we visit the Berkshires again for an extended stay! Loved it. Thanks Mary Ann!

    Kathy2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and quiet cabin in the woods. Accurate description. Mary Ann was very easy to communicate with.

    Samantha2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • As promised, the cottage was quietly located in a very nice setting within a couple of minutes' walk to jewel lake. The cottage was clean and inviting. The cottage is a bit pricy for its size, but it is clean and inviting.

The Edmister House. . . Experience the past in a gracious turn of the century Berkshire "cottage", custom built for New York society second homeowners escaping the summer city. "Mr and Mrs Willard Edmister will entertain many Brooklyn guests during the season. Their new villa has a splendid location with an outlook over the Housatonic Valley. . . They closed up their summer home and returned to the city. They'll reopen it for the holidays" Brooklyn Life, 1914/20
Experience a bit of the gilded age in our unique turn of the century Berkshire cottage with large spacious rooms, 3 working fireplaces downstairs, large private yard for reading and enjoying Berkshire time. We recently purchased this 10,000 sq foot house as a multi-generational family home and are cautiously renovating it while maintaining it's original integrity. We are 3 generations of adults, enjoy music and people. The Emma Room has a king size bed. The Arden Room has a king bed. The West Wing is a king bedroom and living room with direct access to the first floor deck. Note: If some of your dates are booked you can switch rooms for longer stays. Looking forward to meeting you! Ken, Laurie, Tom & Robin
located in quiet residential historic district of like homes.
  • Laurie and I spoke on the phone and she made me feel welcome from the beginning. Her father, Tom was there to greet us, and he knew everything we needed to know and gave us a most friendly welcome. The house is unbelievably gorgeous and don’t be fooled by the use of the word “cottage.” You can easily get lost in this cottage. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was everything I wanted and more. Coffee was strong as we like it and all was plentiful. Ken made breakfast enjoyable with fun conversation. One cannot go wrong in staying with Ken, Laurie, Tom and Robin.

  • If you are thinking about trying AirBnB, this is the perfect home to begin with! My husband and I came to this beautiful home in the Berkshires as a quick anniversary trip, and we only wish we had extended our stay. There is much to see and do, and the home is so conveniently located to downtown Pittsfield that we could have easily walked to the theatre, restaurants, and shops located in the square. The home itself is a gem! When I first walked in I was overwhelmed (seriously) by the grandeur of the home, however after settling in to our room and exploring the first floor, we felt completely at home. Our hosts were just amazing, full of tips for places to see and go and we had a nice breakfast with great conversation. All in all, we couldn't have had a more pleasant first trip using AirBnB. Thank you so much for having us!

  • This is a beautiful house in a very cute and quiet neighborhood. The hosts clearly love the area and enjoy having guests. They are very easy to talk to and will make you feel at home - be sure to get a tour of the house and ask for recommendations for things to do in the area. It's a pretty easy walk to downtown Pittsfield (about 10 minutes), which has a surprising number of fun restaurants and bars. It's also a great location for making day trips to the towns and hiking. A half hour drive will put you in Stockbridge, Lenox, or Lee. You can make it to Monument Mountain in about the same amount of time. Loved the house, thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast table talks, and would definitely consider staying here again for another visit to the Berkshires.

  • Marie’s Place is the perfect space for our family. We drove up from PA and needed accommodations for one night. I was pleasantly surprised by the home-like atmosphere. This space is extremely clean and comfortable. My husband, daughters and I felt right at home lounging on the sofas (complete with cozy throw blankets :)) Marie is the perfect hostess, staying in constant communication, and meeting us even though we arrived 1.5 hours behind schedule. Her home will be a top choice when we return to the Berkshires. You won’t be disappointed.

Romantic getaway or family adventure. Charming stone building served as a one-room schoolhouse from 1832 until 1950. Beautifully situated amidst horse farms on the scenic road to Mt Greylock, centrally located with easy access to cultural and outdoor activities. No extra charge for children (to avoid being charged, do not included children in the count of guests).
Historic stone building that you will have all to yourselves! Furnished with antiques and tastefully decorated. Owner's fine art photographs adorn the walls. Very large loft space upstairs, with queen bed, single bed, kitchen and living and dining areas. Downstairs is the original one room schoolhouse classroom with blackboards and some antique school desks and two twin beds, and the bathroom.
Quiet, except for sounds of nature - birds, occasionally cows, horses or coyotes. We are near the road, but there isn't much traffic. The farm next door now has a few alpacas and miniture horses in additonal to the usual horses. We're a mile down the road from the Mt. Greylock visitors center.
  • For our eleventh marriage anniversary, I wanted to surprise my wife with a setting other than a nice hotel. I struck gold with this place. Rich and Cheryl have created a unique experience by lovingly restoring an old one-room stone schoolhouse, and I cannot think of a more charming, nostalgia-evoking three-night visit. While the amenities were more than adequate, I cannot overstate the greatest attribute of the place: its spirit. There is a special magic in the old classroom, with its high ceilings, vintage lighting, blackboards and an American Flag in the corner. One can almost hear the chattering of students, the hushing authority of the teacher as she enters the room, and then, the opening of textbooks and rustling of papers. The walls resonate with the pledge of allegiance, the cadence of multiplication tables, and the chalk as it clacks sentence diagrams on the blackboards. While my wife and I spent much of our time having all manner of adventures in the area, such as hiking up Mt.Greylock -- a must-do excursion -- I had some special moments in the classroom with my guitar. I felt as if I had an old audience, as original students who came for a reunion had written their names on the one of the blackboards, and recorded their recollections in a memory book. One might call these musings pure sentimentality, but when one sees these old names, it is clear that this world really did exist, and it wasn't that long ago. My wife and I went to the Norman Rockwell museum in nearby Stockbridge, and there we saw all manner of paintings of this way of life that seems further and further from today's world; fortunately, when we came back at the end of the day, we found ourselves staying inside a Norman Rockwell painting called the Stone School Cottage. While Rockwell's era may be over, the spirit lives on here. I thank you, Rich and Cheryl, for keeping the spirit alive. The neighborhood is quiet, lovely and as rural as one would want -- horse stables are right across the street -- and yet the town of Lanesborough is minutes away, where one can find all manner of restaurants, and -- my favorite -- a huge lake where one can swim. The light effects there in the late afternoon are heavenly I won't go into detail on all the splendid small towns nearby, but will say that this spot is a perfect "home base" if you want to experience the best of the Berkshires, including the Clark Museum, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, and our now favorite restaurant, the Mill on the Floss. Book with Cheryl and Rich. You will be glad you did.

    John2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely charming! All the amenities of home in a private, quiet setting with horses and alpacas grazing close by! The school room is a bonus; like a private museum! Hosts were responsive but not all intrusive. 1 mile from Mt Greylock visitors center. Only wish we could've stayed longer!

    Beth2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the middle of the Berkshires. The schoolhouse was a perfect place for 2 couples to stay for our Tanglewood weekend. It’s on the road to Mt Greylock, so that part of our trip was incredibly easy. Rich and Cheryl were excellent hosts. Although the schoolhouse is very spacious, the kitchen is very small - not a problem for us since we ate out at some amazing local restaurants (hint: there are many in Pittsfield).

    Dan2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This charming place truly is one-of-a-kind! Perfectly located for our Berkshire adventures, we loved our stay and would come back in a heartbeat. Rich and Cheryl were communicative, prompt, welcoming, and kind.

    Wendy2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Stone School Cottage was pure magic. The cottage is charming, spacious (easily accommodates 4 adults) and makes for a nostalgia-filled stay in the Berkshires. The property is surrounded by rolling green hills, so there is serenity aplenty (& cows and horses are a common sight out the window). Cheryl and Rich were friendly and accommodating hosts who were eager to impart the history of the cottage and provide recommendations on where to dine in Williamstown. We will be back for sure!

    Nichola2014-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun stay! Rich was great at communicating and welcoming us. I could see this space being perfect for a family with younger/middle-school-aged kids visiting the area for hiking. The first floor is charming and quaint and the second floor is comfortable with enough kitchen amenities to make simple food and board games and DVDs for evening entertainment. The kitchen itself is very small, perfectly fine for making a simple breakfast.

    Jeff2016-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place! I had no idea. It was so beautiful, and in such a nice place, there were horses across the street, old trees (Website hidden by Airbnb) was a beautiful place in every possible way. The cottage was so fantastic I can't even begin to explain. The ground floor was set up to reflect it's history and had beautiful windows that just welcomed in and gathered the light - you just felt good in there. There were beautiful photographs that Cheryl, who is a professional photographer, had taken, and they were contextualized in a larger design that was at once wonderful homey, and in other ways gave you a real sense of the place you were in. I was amazed. Upstairs was so incredibly comfortable, the bed was perfect, there was a great couch to read in, a wonderful table to work at or have a simple meal at. There was a great kitchen with the basics you would need. I dreamed of staying here longer. I didn't even get to the best part, which were the hosts. Rich and Cheryl are the kind of people you dream of meeting when you go somewhere new, incredibly knowledgeable about their area, curious about everything, so kind and also able to give you space that you need to settle in. They were so amazingly polite, kind and interesting - I wanted to cook for them and talk about life. It was one of my favorite airbnb experiences and I was only there for a night. I can't recommend staying here highly enough.

    Andrew2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was exactly what we needed. The Stone School Cottage was a great experience and Rich and Cheryl made it such a great stay. Cheryl gave us lots of suggestions for great things to see around the Berkshires. A great place for those seeking a relaxing getaway in beautiful cottage.

  • Katherine's place sits on a hill looking over Adams. The mountains are gorgeous, with the clouds floating over them. Katherine was a great communicator. She was always available if I needed her. It was so easy to get to Mass Moca. The house is charming and the neighborhood is lovely.

    Harry2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine's house was even nicer than in the pictures, and the price was unbeatable. She was generous and communicative all the time. We would definitely return to this house- overall zero complaints

    Paige2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely, thoughtfully decorated old home is even more delightful in person! We enjoyed watching sunsets over Mt. Greylock in the evenings, cooking delicious meals in the well appointed kitchen, playing card games by the woodstove, and bathing in the charming clawfoot tub. The house is set up high on a steep hill with sweeping mountain views. There are neighboring homes on all sides of the house, however it never felt too much like a "fishbowl" and we were able to enjoy our privacy. Kate was a communicative host, wonderfully responsive. She answered all our questions and gave us great recommendations in advance of our visit. She put us in touch with the house manager who thoughtfully delivered extra newspaper and matches for the woodstove upon our arrival. The house is a great location and home base for exploring the area. We enjoyed visiting Mass MoCA, ice skating at a local ice rink, sledding on some nearby hills and eating at some local restaurants. Overall, a perfect winter getaway for our family! We definitely hope to stay here again sometime.

    Margaux2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The 1890 house was exactly as described. Everything needed for a great vacation was in the clean, well-stocked house. Katherine provides local recommendations for restaurants and the ones we tried were all great. I can’t think of anything that would improve the house.

Near Butternut Skiing, Jiminy Peak, Lee Preium Outlets, Norman Rockwell Museum, Stockbridge, Lenox! Share the lovely kitchen and Frank Lloyd Wright style Great Room, with the friendly host and kitties upstairs!!

I love the quiet dignity and majesty of the Woods and Mountains of the Berkshires. We are near the skiing resorts at Butternut and Jiminy Peak in Winter, the Appalachian Trail, and in summer, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Shakespeare, Barrington Stage, and Mt. Grelock. We have the cute towns of Stockbridge, Lee, and Lenox for great restaurants, browsing in our many unique stores, and museums!
  • Wendy is a great host and the place was very comfortable for me and my two young children

    Stephen2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a wonderful stay with Wendy. We loved the isolated location of the house tucked in the woods, the coziness of the space, the generous size of the two bedrooms, the warm fireplace and the great hospitality. Wendy was accommodating with our arrival time, which was later in the night, and made sure our rooms were warm when we arrived. She was also kind enough to make us coffee in the morning and ensured that our rooms were warm again when we returned on the second night. The downstairs was very private and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! We wish our stay was longer and would definitely return!

    Ashley2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • I went with two friends for a long weekend of snowshoeing. We had a great time! Wendy was super nice and easy to communicate with prior to our stay. Her two cats and really fun and friendly and the house is cool. Close to some great places to hike!

    Emily2016-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was very flexible with check in and out. But the GPS said it didn't exist so get directions. Use of upstairs refigerator was helpful. Reccomend bringing DVDs for entertainment at night. Eat at very good restaurants in Lee, 51 (something) and Timothy's. Rosie's good for breakfast and lunch.

    Christine2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Wendy's. The space was just what we were looking for. Having use of the fireplace was a huge plus. Wendy was friendly and readily accomodated our travel changes. Great hiking near by! There was a TV, but not hooked up to any cable or network, so if you like to watch something at the end of the day, bring some DVD's. (we left one behind for you!) We also brought our own firewood, so you may want to ask about that.

    Pati2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Friends and I had a very relaxing weekend at Wendy's. Beckett is a beautiful place and it quiet - just what my friends and I needed. Wendy is very welcoming and truly made as feel like home! I highly recommend staying at Wendy's when visiting the Berkshires. And oh! Part of the Appalachian Trial is 5 minutes away. Hike to the Goose Pond RD - it's a must!

    Paula Vianca2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy is a lovely person, and lives in a very charming, bright house in the woods. She accommodated and treated our family of four as if we were her old friends - in the morning, there was fresh coffee waiting, and our evenings were filled with long talks and board games. I truly hope we'll get a chance to visit her again. The primary reason of our trip to the Berkshires was family skiing - both Butternut Ski and Jiminy Peak are within a reasonable distance, and at least at Butternut Ski, there were no crowds at all (at least compared to the Catskills) even though we've been there on the long (and school vacation) weekend. A lot of fun for the kids!

    Miroslava2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very nice place to stay. The host was welcoming, the property is quiet and peaceful and the location was great. We arrived after a long and brutal heat wave, and were so glad for the Berkshire weather. The house is perfectly situated to catch the breezes, so we felt cool and comfortable in the house, even though the air outdoors was at times warm and muggy. It was also nice to have such comfortable beds!

Fully furnished , totally remodeled ( completed in Feb. 2016), lakefront home set on a peninsula at a cove where a trout stream enters the lake. Incredible amount of wildlife, especially all types of birds. The home has sunny views everywhere.
Remodeled completely with wood, and radiant heated marble tiles, an expansive immaculate kitchen, multiple decks, a huge screened-in porch, wraparound driveway, all new beds and furniture, peaceful quiet setting, cozy and comfortable.
The area is historic and many years ago in the 19th century a glassworks was in operation. Nearby is the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail for hiking, biking, jogging,..fishing ponds and streams, and a cute little church and shrine. A big movie theater is only a mile away.
  • David was a fantastic host. The house was clean and beautifully located. We were provided with everything we needed for a 6 person group as well as extra commodities such as the use of his kayak and grill. I would recommend this house 100% and looking forward to coming back

    Melanie2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Newly refurbished and comfortable. We enjoyed our visit to the area. The cottage is conveniently located, but feels like a true getaway. Any snaffoos (with the key code and some weather related power outage) were addressed with compassion and personal attention. Linens by request! We enjoyed our stay, THX

    Alexandra2017-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in David's home. The house is right in front of a beautiful lake with amazing views. Everything inside the house is brand new and just renovated. We forgot to bring our own sheets and David rushed to buy some from us. He is truly an excellent host and has created a jewel in the Berkshires. Would recommend 100%!

    Jose2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super-comfortable and located well to enjoy Berkshires attractions. The kitchen is better equipped than in the average vacation house, and we took advantage by cooking some meals there. The jacuzzi tub was a nice feature. The bike trail being so close inspired us to buy a bike rack for this trip, and our whole family enjoyed riding on it. David's communication was prompt and clear.

    Jeff2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a magical place. It was clean, warm and cosy. Great location right on the lake. David was very helpful and accommodating. We loved the snow but also hope to come back and find out what it looks like during summer.

  • This home provided everything our family was looking for - and then some! The house was comfortable, clean, and well stocked with supplies and maps. The setting was private and serene. We especially enjoyed eating outside under the grape arbor. Yes, we would definitely book again!

Visit Tanglewood, Kripalu, Jacobs Pillow, Jiminy Peak, Bousquet Mountain, Lebanon Valley Speedway, Albany, Pittsfield, Lenox... go for a hike, ski, visit Furnace Brook Winery or just relax on our property and unwind.
First built in 1834, our house was a carriage house (with horse parlor) that was set behind the grand house unfortunately lost in a fire. Our house mostly survived the fire, was beautifully restored and has been used for several things....including an Inn, a restaurant and legend has it as being a Jin Joint during prohibition and used as a gangster hideaway,. It has also been a gambling house, roadhouse and in 1939 was raided by the Feds who seized $10,000 worth of gambling equipment. Rumor has it that it was possibly a stop for the Underground Railroad. In more recent years it was known as the Pillars Restaurant. The restaurant is now closed and We have turned it into our home. Large enough for weddings and gatherings. (Ask for details) 7 acres to checkout including a small stream. Plenty of paved parking.
Private and Quiet but close to New Lebanon Speedway and Skiing....Check out Jiminy Peak Ski and Mountain Adventure, or Bousquet Ski area. We are 13 minutes to Pittsfield Ma. About 35 minutes to Albany, 10 minutes to Furnace Brook Winery at Hilltop Orchards, 25 minutes to Tangelwood and Kripalu. There is also good fishing, hunting and hiking close to our home or just a chance to relax on this beautiful, historic property.

  • It is an absolute pleasure to be guests at the Clark's home. My boyfriend and I stayed one night when exploring the Lenox, Mass area. They gave us a tour when we arrived. The home was so spacious and clean! They left bagels from the shop down the road, cream cheese and orange juice. We enjoyed the bagels the next morning by the stream on their property. They said we were welcome to use their Netflix and they even had maps of things to do in the Berkshire region on the wall. Hope we end up back there because we would stay again!

    Rachel2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Clarks provide a second story apartment with everything to make for a comfortable stay. This BnB is in a historic house right on US-20 and it nicely kept up. Great place to stay.

There is a nine hole golf course right in town too: one of many great golf courses in the area.

  • Sandy was very helpful. He met us on arrival and offered us suggestions on what to see in the area for our too short stay. He was excellent in his response to our emails. A lovely character home complete with modern conveniences and old world charm. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

    Jenny2015-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Sandy was kind and happy to provide any information on local matters. He gave us all the information we needed in a note. The place was in the exact shape and size that we expected based upon the listing. To top it off, the most handsome and sweetest kitty greeted us kindly at the front door. His name is Benny, be sure to say “hi”!

  • Beautiful place.

    Pengcheng2016-12-24T00:00:00Z

    Lionel2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a fantastic experience staying with Sandy, Lucy and Tristan, our best Airbnb experience ever. Sandy was a caring and thoughful host and the accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed. Adams is a lovely little town in a beautiful location with a wealth of activities to participate in. Sandy's duplex has an expansive view over Adams and Mt Greylock. Sandy's place and Adams are both highly recommended.

  • Jackie’s place is an oasis of calm and beauty. Clean and elegant, with a super comfortable bed, I loved the skylights, the desk area for writing, and the big bathtub for a welcome soak after a long day. The kitchen area-with views of a beautiful garden outside-had everything I needed to make a simple breakfast, and there was room in the fridge to store food. What a treasure! It’s in a sweet neighborhood in Lenox, 10 minutes from Kripalu and Tanglewood. And a parking space, just for me. Couldn’t have asked for a more magical time.

  • Jackie's beautiful house is perfectly situated in the heart of the Birkshires. We stayed at the lovely furnitured Suite under the rooftop. Jackie is an energetic person, quiet busy but always checking if we were happy with everything. She welcomed us to use the kitchen as we wanted for breakfast. The hole house is clean and the room, bathroom and kitchen are well equipped. We enjoyed our summertime stay, but the house and its surroundings must be even cosier during wintertime.

'Loft off North' is just around the corner from the heart of the Berkshires, North Street in Pittsfield. This is a newly renovated space, completely re-done from top to bottom. It has been aesthetically curated with the comfort of the traveler to the Berkshires in mind. Pittsfield has recently been recognized by the National Center for Arts Research as an art vibrant community, ranking 2nd in the medium sized cities category, out of a ranking of 40.
This is a circa 1850's farmhouse, originally thought to be part of the Linden Ranch. The back portion of the house is estimated to have been added on around the first decade or so of the 1900's. As a result, the structure has an eclectic mix of hardwood flooring that add to the charm of the apartment. In keeping with the farmhouse design, a large deck has been added alongside the front of the building, along with a tin roof covering. An industrial vibe is also incorporated with a pipe and metal cord rail system. The interior has all the comforts of a modern space with central heating and an updated kitchen and bathrooms.
Park your car at 'Loft Off North' and walk and explore Pittsfield. Make some new friends while you enjoy the Berkshires. You may want to start off your day with a stop at Dotties Coffee Lounge (http://www.dottiescoffeelounge.com/) Dottie's provides expertly crafted coffee, friendly baristas, fabulous organic and local food, homemade baked goods, a bohemian eclectic space with plenty of room, free and fast wifi, and a true flavor that all locals love and flock to daily. Barrington Stage Company (https://barringtonstageco.org) is a just a hop, skip and short jump from 'Just Off North', the perfect stop to enjoy award winning theater. Be sure to check out their website to book your tickets! Visit the intimate St. Germain Theater, Mr. Finn’s Cabaret or Boyd-Quinson Mainstage. Mary's Carrot Cake (maryscarrotcake.com) is a must! Maybe a treat before the theatre! Restaurants and shops abound around the corner as you walk down North Street. Mission Bar & Tapas (http://www.missionbarandtapas.com) is a favorite! Enjoy the local musicians as they entertain you. A real gem in Pittsfield! Methuselah Bar & Lounge (http://methbar.com) creates hand crafted cocktails and also offers small plates. Make sure you stop in at Circa Berkshires (http://circaberkshires.com). This is a MidCentury Modern paradise for those who like to go back in time to the Frank Lloyd Wright simplistic lines. Treasures abound in this one-of-a-kind store. The Funky Phoenix is the Berkshires leading producer of Salvage Art and Home Décor.(https://thefunkyphoenix.com) This is where you want to see salvaged art, Steam Punk thought provoking re-purposed goods and engage with the artists. A summer only treat, King Cone soft serve ice cream! (133 Fenn St, Pittsfield, MA 01201) Trust me when I say you will need to walk there and back after you see the size of that CONE!

  • This was such a magical place to stay! Great energy surrounds this place. The bed was a firm futon, which was ok, but the kitchen well stocked with any utensils and pots and pans you need. This was probably the smallest shower I’ve ever experienced, but it did the job with very hot water.

  • The house is pretty and it at a nice location however when I approached the house there were many people outside seems like they were having a party it felt like I was at a frat house at some college ,and I wasn't too fond of the decorations that was in the house there was many statues and ornaments that didn't really feel right with me and it made me feel tense and scared. the room was not a loft I been a loft s before it was an space divided or separated by curtains in the middle of the party however I asked her for a room upstairs with a door she agreed, but with all the noise going in the first floor it was hard for me to sleep and I still have this unsettling feeling of the environment of the place. I rented the place for 2 weeks I end it up living next morning early,

  • Miriam's place is very welcoming, in an unexpected location & probably unlike anything you've ever seen before. The easy-going, communal feel to the space is warm & positive. As the host might be away, be aware that for a solo traveler, it might not feel as safe as some other options...given that it is a large, multi-purposed space, serving a variety of functions, to a variety of people at different times.

The Cabin at Rooted and Wild is a magical retreat in the woods of the Upper Hudson Valley. It is a restful getaway to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city, and reconnect with your self and nature. The space is stocked with everything you need to unwind, nourish, and recharge your body, mind and spirit.
This cabin has all the amenities that you will need for your stay. We desire for you to have the best rest and refresh designed especially for you. We have one King sized bed in the bedroom, with two huge closets. There is a dynamite pull out sofa and as well as a crib and changing table, if needed. The book shelves are lined with dreamy novels, health and wellness reads, as well as an array of kids books too. In the kitchen/living room/office is a sweet quiet desk area, and a full kitchen and bar. There is a Ninja blender, a coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, forks, spoons, herbs, spices, and anything you could possibly need for your stay. You don't have to bring anything, but yourself. The view from the house is impeccable, surrounded by glorious pines that you can even gaze at through the bathroom window. The cabin has radiant heat and split unit AC so it is great for any time of year.
If you are looking to get out and about, we are five minutes from the quaint town of Old Chatham, which has a country store and one restaurant. Only ten minutes away is the adorable Town of Chatham, which has several great restaurants, and cute shops. We are 35 minutes from the City of Hudson, the "hub of hip" in upstate NY, packed with live music, restaurants, ad events all year round. A drive to Albany, our state capital is only 40 minutes away, as well as the super happening city of Troy. We are 30 minutes from the gorgeous Berkshires, Great Barrington, and Kripalu (A center for yoga and health that includes a delicious restaurant, a store, and many classes and workshops with world renowned teachers.) As you can see, we are very centrally located!

Cheerful, comfortable apartment with three bedrooms; this one has a double bed. Shared bathroom. Use of living room. Centrally located near all Pittsfield theaters, shops, museum and restaurants. 12 minutes to Tanglewood or Shakespeare and Company.
Spacious bedrooms; shared use of living room and bathroom. Off street parking/ one vehicle; 10 minute walk to North (Main) Street provides easy access to Pittsfield's many attractions: Beacon Cinema; Colonial Theater; Barrington Stage; Berkshire Atheneum; assorted stores and restaurants. Easy drive to Lenox, Lee, Berkshire Theater Group Venues; assorted Ski Slopes, cross-country ski trails, snow shoe and hiking trails, and museums. I am located 2 hours from Boston and 3 hours from New York City. Ellen, your hostess, has lived in the area for the past 35 years and would be happy to provide recommendations based upon your interests.
Though I am near the center of town, Elizabeth St is residential with old Victorian and Colonial homes.
  • We had a wonderful (albeit brief) stay with Ellen. She was the consummate hostess. She greeted us with a a tea service and homemade scones. Noticing that my husband had a disability and that climbing stairs might be difficult for him, she offered us a room on the ground floor, even though that meant she had to do some last minute extra work. Her home was spotless and inviting and we would definitely stay with her again.

  • Had a pleasant stay at Ellen’s place. She is very kind, attentive and accommodating. The location was great for us, in the middle of everything, close to Lenox (and Tanglewood), Jackob’s Pillow and many good places to eat in Pittsfield.

  • Ellen's home is in an excellent location - very close to North street where there are restaurants and cafes (Dottie's - which she had recommended was great for breakfast), 20 minutes from Tanglewood and under an hour to Williamstown. The beds in both bedrooms are comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower is great. The common areas - living, dining room and kitchen are all clean, organized and quite spacious. All rooms have charming touches, like joyful paintings and the light switch covers with landscape/home/flower scenes in each room. Isabella, Ellen's little dog is adorable and very obedient. Ellen is extremely thoughtful - she left us a welcome note (in case we arrived before she did), our names on our bedroom doors, fresh green and black tea with strawberries and ginger in the fridge, and left a glass of cold water out for my mom with a note when she noticed she takes her pills each evening. Talk about attention to detail! A lovely host and home.

  • Ellen is a fantastic host. Her communication was excellent and she had valuable tips for us. Her descriptions were accurate -- her house was clean and comfortable, and her dog is adorable. Plenty of privacy. Great scones! Her house was very easy to find, very close to everywhere in the Berkshires that you'd want to go to. Definitely recommend to anyone traveling there!

  • The house is gorgeous, the room is charming and clean, and Ellen is a perfect hostess. One lovely feature is passing by her beautiful garden on your way in and out. I highly recommend this spot to anyone passing through the Berkshires or visiting Pittsfield in particular. You will not be disappointed..!

  • Ellen was a great host. She stayed up late for us, served a nice breakfast of homemade scones and hot cider, and was a delight to chat with. She knows quite a bit about the history of the local area, particularly the African American heritage of the Hoisatonic Valley. The house was very nice and had all of the amenities we needed. It was a great stay.

Was fuer eine schoene Erinnerung an Hudson!!!

Thanks again for everything, Michelle!
