In the heart of Oakland historic district. Oakland is a lovely little town with only historic homes and buildings. No fast food, no Walmart etc. Just a historic old town where you feel you stepped back in time. Everyone is very friendly and there are always things to do. Sutherlin and Roseburg are very close and have all the big stores. Oakland only has the basics and is very clean and cozy.
  • We loved our stay in the tiny house. With its thoughtful design, it was the perfect space for my husband, me, and our nine month old son. This house gave us an excuse to to visit historic Oakland, a charming town we never would have found had it not been for Ryan's airbnb and its five star reviews. It was a pleasure to meet Ryan and his family and get a tour of the farm. We look forward to coming back!

  • Nice stay in a country setting, yet near town. Cozy and charming and comfortable bed.

  • What an amazing space! Ryan has really gone above and beyond in creating a wonderful home for people to enjoy. The farm fresh eggs he provided from his hens were incredible! He showed us around the farm and we learned so much about permaculture life, quite inspiring. I know we will be back for future visits, and can’t wait to see the progress!

  • This tiny house is really worth visiting. Really comfortable with good mattresses on the beds and a real bathroom. Great little garden and Oakland is a fascinating small town.

  • Ryan's home is a great little place away from the bustle of city life. We stayed the night on our way South and it was perfect for 2-3 people. Clean, cute, and they even gave us some farm fresh eggs! Such a nice touch!

  • The tiny house is so wonderful! The hosts gave us fresh eggs and veggies from the farm which was such a nice and homey touch. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend to anyone in that part of Oregon!

  • Ryan and co-host Kara were very quick to respond to a last minute request! They were willing to let us check in later than the stated house rules due to a long drive from Portland. We walked into the farm and around the house to see the tiny cabin---it was gorgeous. A skylight above the bed and a clawfoot bathtub were stunning. EVEN a gas range! I can't wait to visit again. The most beautiful part was the morning and seeing the view outside of the kitchen window and seeing the animals and rolling hills beyond the yard. Loved it!

  • Nice, quiet, scenic retreat in a quaint historical town. Place is small and cozy. Perfect for a little getaway.

  • Ernie’s place is very lovely. The place is so clean. Suitable for people who have car.

  • Amazing house, quiet room, country setting. Great hosts

  • Staying at O'Fay House is like nothing else you could imagine. Quiet and convenient location. A beautifully decorated apartment all to yourselves. All the anenities you could ask for and then some. Friendly and gracious hosts! Very enjoyable and helpful to talk to. I would definitely stay there again! And again!

  • Everything was wonderful than i expected.

  • Great place! I highly recommend it if you're staying in southern Oregon.

  • We couldn’t have picked a better house for our first visit to Oregon. Location: Couldn’t ask for anything better. It’s almost equidistant from the coast as well as crater lake. You could make this as a central point to visit both places. The house itself: Beautiful, old school house in a great location. It has everything. Spacious bedrooms, spacious common areas, swimming pool, beautiful garden, ample parking space, water streams, a small bridge. Everything sits just perfect about this house. Host: Ernie is a warm, kind and cheerful host. Very helpful and very very friendly. He gave us a trio of the house explaining us the history of it. Gave great tips about the places we could visit. Great host overall. Animals: They have 2 dogs, a cat, a Peacock and a cow. If you’re an animal lover, this is your heaven. And you get to play with them all

  • Ernie & Joe host an incredible stay in their 2nd floor remodeled bungalow. Up two flights of stairs to an unusual & classy remodel of this cool older farm home. The pool was a nice cool temp and refreshing after a hard days drive. The location easy to get to using (Hidden by Airbnb) maps. The covered bridge on the route in from the south is neat The library of Blu-ray movies was incredible, so we watched a favorite. Thanks for the bottled water. Nice touch!!

  • The home, the grounds, and the rooms are all amazing. Ernie was a wonderful host, extremely upbeat and friendly, and we absolutely loved our stay here. The location is very convenient to the freeway. We stayed up late in the evening and our conversations got a bit loud. Ernie reported that they didn't hear us at all, so I felt like we had a good deal of privacy as well.

  • Perfect weekend getaway in a quaint, historic small town. Loved the ambiance, comfortable bed and room decor. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet. Ideal private room and location were superb - wine tasting building with complimentary wine tasting. Loved your wines. Retaining the bank vault in the building to preserve the history of a small town - great touch. Betty is the most gracious and friendly host. 10+

  • Very unique stay with everything you need plus wine. Wonderful deluxe bath. The room has high ceiling - 15 feet maybe. The only window is high so that you can’t see out of it (if you are shorter than 7 feet tall) although you can see the sky. It’s large so it provides lots of natural light. Bath has a leafy view window. Checked in right before tasting room closing so we got a warm welcome from Betty. The cute, antique town is very sleepy at night.

  • This was a same day reservation and I got a response within an hour. Thank you for everything. I would love to stay again

  • Such a neat space to stay in while visiting the Umpqua Valley. This room is in one of the very beautiful and buildings on the main street. The bathroom is updated and the heated flooring and shower are wonderful! If you love wine tasting and exploring historic towns then this space is perfect.

  • Great location. Short walk to dining and shops. Be sure to have a wine tasting and check out the vault.

  • Betty was very accommodating and the room was perfect for my needs. It had the charm of the historic, well-loved, century old brick structure. The room and bath were updated for style and comfort. The keyless entry system allowed for a speedy, seamless check-in/check-out as my stay was stopping off point driving between Central California and Cannon Beach, Oregon. Communications with Betty was great. Felt like a B&B without the "drama".

  • Arriving to Oakland after a long days drive, I was welcomed by Betty at the Wine Vault. She had just finished a busy afternoon with buses of people stopping in to taste her wines. But she stayed to chat and pour me some of their wines and it was very welcoming after a long day. The space was everything that I needed, and was great to park directly in front of the door as my car is packed full of personal belongings for this road trip. She suggested heading to the Tavern for a bite to it. Being cinco de mayo I had to stay for a drink. Great times. Great cute little town. I was up early to continue my drive but will be back to investigate the area again.

  • The South House will exceed all your expectations! Amy and Pete have done such a beautiful job and every detail has been thoughtfully considered and attended to. We are all planning how we can get back here sometime to spend more time just walking around this adorable little town. We definitely will stay here again and plan to tell anyone we know to stay here also!

  • This home was very clean and artfully decorated.

  • A charming space and an even more charging town. We will definitely be back.

  • The South House was a wonderful place for my family of four (6yr old and 8yr old) to stay. Very clean. All the beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for all of us, space to spread out and relax. Loved having air-conditioning to keep us cool. We enjoyed all of the thoughtful details: fresh eggs in the fridge, soap in the shower, extra blankets in the living room, coffee, historic photos on the walls, etc. So much thought and care has been put into this place. Our kids loved going over to the park, just across the street, to play. Such a good location to walk to the market if you need something, or just to walk around town exploring Oakland. There is something really special about this little town. I highly recommend The South House. Thank you, Amy and Pete!!

  • Place is great, plenty of room. The hosts are very easy to work with. Highly recommended

  • Awesome stay! Cute space, wonderful amenities and amazing ac! Beautiful views and a relaxing view!

  • Clean, comfortable place and amazing host! They even left bagels, eggs and milk. The bonsai garden was awesome

  • Amy and Pete’s place is a treasure. Clean and updated with antique touches. Large backyard with grill. We appreciated the farm fresh eggs and other extras they kindly left for us. It was a great base for a family visit. My two kids loved walking to the playground and riding their bikes around the neighborhood. We’ll be back for sure!
