Was ihr unternehmen werdet

In this tour, you’ll have chance to discover the history, architecture, culture, food and language...

We'll meet in a small archaeology museum and start our journey. After the museum, we'll visit a 16th century Ottoman public bath to talk about Roman and Ottoman daily life.

The old streets of İstanbul will lead us to Suleymaniye Mosque: one of the best monument of Ottoman & Islamic architecture. We'll visit the mosque and the tomb of Ottoman King Suleiman the Magnificent, and his wife Queen Hürrem Sultan’s tomb.

The Grand Bazaar is just a few hundred meters away from the mosque. I’ll guide you through the narrow and labyrinthine streets of the bazaar to get a taste of traditional Turkish business life. All the coffee shops serve good Turkish coffee here, we can have if you like.

After The Grand Bazaar, we'll see one of the oldest monument in Istanbul: The Column of Constantine. It is a good point to have a rest and talk about the deep history of Istanbul.

We'll continue walking through the old and crowded streets of Eminönü district, the heart of the city. People from all over Turkey (and the world) visit here for various goals. It is also the best place for shopping; you can find good quality products at a reasonable price here.

The journey will end in front of the Spice Bazaar in Eminönü Square.

p.s.: This is not a travel agency tour, I am an independent person.

This tour took us off the typical walking path in Sultanahmet and we were able to discover some places we wouldn't have known about otherwise (we are currently living in Istanbul). Heval was full of information and answered all of my questions. This tour was a great way to continue discovering the charm and history of Istanbul. Thank you Heval!

Our tour with Heval was one of the hi-lights of our trip to Istanbul. Heval himself is a very warm and friendly person with excellent knowledge of Turkish history and stories of the city. We did a fair bit of walking around the old district but also took a few breaks to drink tea and chat about both history and current affairs. We actually ended up spending 5 hours with Heval as we got along so well. I would highly recommend his tour to anyone visiting Istanbul!

Heval was so warm and friendly and took us to places that we would never have found on our own. We got to try some products from different sellers and helped us find some products we really wanted. We also got to see so many cats! A very fun day.

Just wow. We've been to over twenty countries in the past year and this was, by far the best experience we've had with a guide. Heval is an awesome guy. He's got a great sense of humor, is immensely knowledgeable and is just an all-round interesting person with so much fascinating knowledge to share. There is no way we would have seen or learned even a fraction of what we did if we'd been on our own. Just a few of the things we got to see were little back alleys leading to ancient hans (old resting places for traders), learning fascinating facts about the architecture of the mosque and countless little cultural bits and pieces on the way. He really put the different parts of the old city that we visited in a historical context in a way that felt alive... and lets not forget the excellent tea, sweets and diverting down an alley to pat his favorite cats that live in the Grand Bazaar. If you get a chance to do one tour in the old city during your stay, pick this one.

Boa experiência pelas ruas agitadas dos bazares. Boa introdução aos lugares visitados, aos quais voltamos depois para visitar com mais calma.

Heval is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. I definitely recommend this experience. If you have specific things you’d like to see or buy then I recommend you let Heval know at the start of the trip so that he can customise the route that you take.
