Was ihr unternehmen werdet

Sail beautiful Kailua on a Hawaiian Sailing (wa'a) Canoe; a cultural craft designed and used by the Polynesians to navigate and sail the Pacific. Join our watermen, learning about the history and cultural significance of the canoe and Kailua to the Hawaiian and Polynesian people, as we journey to the Mokuluas - a private wildlife sanctuary. It's a Hawaiian experience unlike any other!

During the tour, explore the ecosystem as we move through the glistening, clear coral reefs of Kailua with honu (sea turtles) and other native species of fishes. Enjoy the views of the Ko’olau range surrounding us as our watermen tell the mo’olelo (stories) of various Ahupua’a (land divisions) that make up Kailua and the Ka Iwi coastline. View and learn of the indigenous seabirds, such as ‘Iwa (Great Frigate) and ‘Ua‘u kani (Wedge-tail Shearwater), that call the sanctuary island home.

While on the island, join us for the short hike to the Queen’s Bath. The island's natural tide pool, with it's truly spectacular views, is an experience that words can not describe! It truly is a hidden gem of Oahu! Back on the beach, join us for some refreshments as we relax and take in the scenic view.

I was raised in an ocean culture family and am an avid surfer, paddler, sailor and fishermen. I've spent time as an ocean lifeguard in Hawaii and California. I hope to share my passions and the culture of Hawai'i that have had such a strong impact on my life.

Tours are run with my team from my business: Kailua Ocean Adventures. We are a small Hawaiian Sailing Canoe and Outrigger Canoe company; born and bred in our hometown of Kailua. We strive to show the cultural and historical side of Hawaiian Canoes, while exploring the waters of our backyard in a safe environment for groups of all levels, keiki to kapuna.

My team consists of professional waterman with backgrounds in ocean safety, firefighting and EMS.

Wo ihr sein werdet

Sailing Kailua with us, head to the Mokulua (twin) Islands where we’ll explore the island. Snorkel off the island and explore the sealife that surrounds us; such as Uhu (parrot fish) and Honu (sea turtles). On the island, let's hike over to the Queen's Bath to take a plunge into the natural salt water pool. Chee-huu!

This was a personable family owned business. There were two guides to the trip, and it shows that they both care about the visitors experience. Joe is born and raised on Oahu, and was able to give some great recommendations for being in the area. Thanks Joe! For a safe and enjoyable trip with a lot of laughs along the way.

We had a really nice time! While snorkeling at the island we saw two sea turtles, a spotted eel, and many colorful fish. One gal stepped on a sea urchin while snorkeling, so you may want to keep your sandals or water shoes on during the snorkeling portion as it can be rough with the waves colliding where your first enter the water and hard to see your feet. The short hike to the Queen's bath was fun, and we saw whales breaching in the distance. We enjoyed freshly cut pineapple with li hing before heading back. Overall it was a fun experience and we enjoyed learning more about the area and wildlife! Thanks, Joe!

We had an amazing time on this excursion; it may have been our favorite thing we did on our trip! Sailing out to Moku Nui was gorgeous, the little hike on the island had amazing views, and I saw my first sea turtle! Tour guides were super friendly and we all had a great time.
