Oeiras by Kayak is by far the most popular kayak tour around Lisbon. Starting from Oeiras Marina, the last harbour between the Tagus River and the Atlantic Ocean, you will paddle along the coast of Lisbon, see beautiful sea fortresses, stop at one of the beaches for some good dives and of course enjoy paddling!
You will be surprized how easy is to paddle on the river and on the sea, enjoing the amazing coast of Lisbon.

I started kayaking by the age of 13 and never stopped since. I used to work in IT for the biggest banking group in Portugal and left in 2012 to guide outdoor activities full time: kayaking, ScubaDiving, stand up paddling, mountain biking and hiking. I am certified by the Portuguese Canoe Federation and by the American Canoe Association. Kayaking is my job and my passion, I´m very happy to share it with you.

We will start from Oeiras Marina and paddle along the coast, its sea fortresses: Bugio, Saint Julian´s, Santo Amaro and Saint John´s and reach one of the beautiful beaches of Torre, Carcavelos and Santo Amaro. I will tell you more about Portuguese great navigators and about paddling techniques!

We had such a great time on this Kayak adventure with Joao! I myself am an semi-experienced kayaker but mostly with lakes so the sea was new territory for me and he made me feel at ease and well looked after. My friend was inexperienced and similarly had a great time. Although the weather wasn't as calm as we expected we truly got a one of a kind experience not only with kayaking but other through chatting to Joao as he educated us on Lisbons history and his own adventures. If you are looking for a different way to experience the outdoors and Lisbon, Joao is the perfect guide for you!

João is very friendly and patient with the technics of kayaking since I had no experience before. Very fun and interesting experience i had in Lisbon. João will also talk you through with some history about this area. Anyone who wants to do kayaking should definitely go for it.

We had a great experience kayaking with Joao! He is understanding of all experience levels and very knowledgeable about Portuguese history! We saw a fort along the coast and jumped in the water. He also took pictures and sent the best to us at no extra charge. A great experience all around!
