Although I have mentioned no pets this may be possible by arrangement, so please ask.
The house has panoramic views of the river and once you go out of the gate there are scenic walks in which ever direction you choose to go.

Tyne View Cottage is in a fantastic location right on the river, the views are stunning. The surrounding area is perfect for walks or a run along the river path into Wylam and beyond. We arrived in the dark to a warm and cosy cottage, Shelly had the fire going and made us feel very welcome. There were plenty of supplies for breakfast and as the tap water was not for consumption enough bottles of still and sparkling water to drink and cook with, enough for the duration of our stay. Home comforts did not include the use of the fridge which was not working. We got round that by buying bags of ice for the cool box that Shelly had kindly provided. The cottage was a little dusty probably due to the building works outside, this would only be temporary and will add a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy the surroundings once finished. Shelly had considered cancelling the booking due to the ongoing work, but as we were participating in the Great North Run knew we would be hard pushed to find alternative accommodation at short notice. The write up does say family/kid friendly but I would be concerned about the amount of objects as well as places little fingers might get caught particularly light switches at waist level that had been taped over to prevent use. The fact the shower overheats might also be difficult with young children. The cottage is advertised as off the grid so we did make allowances especially as we had pretty much everything we needed but I think Shelly should make a lot clearer what this actually means including use of a generator if wishing to use hairdryers. The cottage is comfortable though, a good base for visiting the surrounding area.

We stayed for a week whilst in the area for a family funeral - the tranquil location was ideal - cycling a plenty and beautiful outlook over the Tyne. I considered leaving a negative review just to help keep this place a secret!

We had a lovely few days at Tyne View cottage and loved the scenery and the log fire, and passing rowers on the river. Everything you need is there including complementary cereals and milk etc The beds were comfy and the area is quiet. There's plenty to do in the area and loads of nice walks.Shelly is also an awesome host. We hope to come again

We had a lovely few days at Tyne View Cottage exploring the surrounding countryside and enjoying the views and wildlife from the house: you will not be short of things to see or do. The cottage had everything we needed and was well equipped, you wouldn't really know you were off grid. The mainline train runs just behind the cottage but surprisingly caused no problems. The trains are so fast they have gone almost as soon as you hear one. In fact it provided a welcome bonus with the Flying Scotsman going past one evening. It was easier to park on the other side of the railway line and phone the signalman to gain permission to walk across the line. An added novelty for some but worth knowing if you have children. Shelly is a very friendly and obliging host who did her upmost to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time at Tyne View, relaxed and quiet, just what one needs after a long walk. It is only a short detour from the Hadrians Wall path and there are good public transport connections on either side of the river.
