This rustic, 3 bedroom, solar powered house was the original homestead on my mountain ranch. Nestled by a stream at the end of an 8 mile dirt road guests are surrounded by beauty and solitude.

Hike, bike through meadows and mtns. View coyotes, moose, elk, deer & ducks on the ponds. Enjoy the peace of this working ranch. Estes Park and Rocky Mountain NP - only 35/60 minutes away - offer jeeps, fishing, horseback riding etc. Quaint Allenspark has a wonderful breakfast/lunch cafe.

Der Wohnraum

This house is unique and fun, and antique. Please use gently. With one bath the space is best suited for families.

This is an opportunity to experience country life at the turn of the century (plus lights, hot water, and refrigerator). Please help conserve power by unplugging small appliances after use.

A grill is on the front porch along with chairs. A picnic table is close by.

Water is from the same spring the homesteaders used, but is technically not potable so I will supply you with fresh Deep Rock bottled water for cooking and drinking.

A drip coffee maker with filters is provided. Please bring your own coffee.

Zugang für Gäste

You will be able to explore the entire ranch. There are fish in the pond and you may fish - catch and release only using hooks with no barbs. Bring your own tackle.

I recycle and will supply the appropriate containers.

Want to bring your horse? Please contact me for more information.

Your "on the ground" hosts, Dianne and Jeryl, are only a short walk away at the "Big House". They are available to answer questions and concerns once you have arrived as I live in Denver. Dianne is my cousin and she and Jeryl have been on the ranch for 9 years, are knowledgeable, and helpful.

Weitere wichtige Infos

Bedroom One actually has a 3/4 antique bed - bigger than a single, but smaller than a double.

Fire is a constant threat. Please no smoking, or use of candles in the house. Be extremely careful of the fireplace and always close the screens to prevent sparks. At night and when leaving the house close the fireplace glass doors. Your care and attention is greatly appreciated.

This place is such a quiet slice of heaven in the middle of no where. Donna's description of the place is spot on and her directions there are perfect and warranted. We had such a great visit and loved sipping coffee in the cool mornings on the porch, we were even graced one morning by a moose. The hike to the old school house and glacier lake is in-measurable. Can not wait to plan another trip back. Plan your stay to just be at the cabin. Loved it!!! Thank you Donna, Dianne, and Jeryl. Blessings from Jerry, Angie, Eli, Cody, and Chase.

Lovely rustic home on the ranch. The scenery was beautiful and the ranch was all we thought it would be and more. We loved our host and hope to go back again

Stayed the weekend with friends, beautiful property, great place to unwind from technology and enjoy quality time. Off the beaten path, but well worth the adventure, close proximity to Estes park and Rocky Mountain national park.

My parents, boyfriend, and I had the pleasure of staying here for four nights this last week. All I have to say is it was absolutely wonderful. The cabin was fully equipped with everything you can possibly need from a home: from kitchen utensils to extra blankets and beds. My mom cooked us two meals every morning and night and my dad grilled most nights as well, as there is a grill on the front porch. As far as the scenery, it was probably our favorite part. The property was just breathtaking and even more beautiful than the pictures. The cabin has historical charm and family history. The only complaint we really had was the drive up to the house. The gravel road was somewhat far from Estes Park and where we spent most of our time in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It also had a lot of holes in it. However, Donna's directions were very clear and precise and we were able to find the house easily with the directions under the description. It is best if you can to drive in an SUV or bigger car, however it's not absolutely detrimental that you do. Overall, we had a very nice stay here and we would definitely come again!

This cabin is absolutely amazing. Really gorgeous secluded surroundings. It's really well stocked and has an amazing walk out the back to a few glacier lakes. We even spotted a moose! I really wish we'd have known how great this place was we would have stayed longer. Donna was also very helpful in accommodating a few alterations we needed just the day before and I'm forever grateful. Highlight of our 3 week trip!

I'll probably never get the chance to spend a whole season in an isolated cottage in the Rocky Mountains -- but this was certainly a nice taste. The kitchen is very well equipped and there are lots of board games and playing cards available.

This cabin had everything our family was looking for - privacy, beautiful views, and all the comforts of home minus television and internet, which were not missed. We were greeted by Diane and Jeryl who felt like family. They showed us around and were available if we needed anything. They provided a map of the area behind the house which made for some wonderful evening hikes. The scenic drive into the cabin from the highway is about 20 minutes but a very lovely drive. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes and utensils that we used to cook several of our favorite "pioneer" meals. This special place provided the peace and tranquility our family was looking for and we're already looking forward to returning.
