This rustic, 3 bedroom, solar powered house was the original homestead on my mountain ranch. Nestled by a stream at the end of an 8 mile dirt road guests are surrounded by beauty and solitude.
Hike, bike through meadows and mtns. View coyotes, moose, elk, deer & ducks on the ponds. Enjoy the peace of this working ranch. Estes Park and Rocky Mountain NP - only 35/60 minutes away - offer jeeps, fishing, horseback riding etc. Quaint Allenspark has a wonderful breakfast/lunch cafe.
This house is unique and fun, and antique. Please use gently. With one bath the space is best suited for families.
This is an opportunity to experience country life at the turn of the century (plus lights, hot water, and refrigerator). Please help conserve power by unplugging small appliances after use.
A grill is on the front porch along with chairs. A picnic table is close by.
Water is from the same spring the homesteaders used, but is technically not potable so I will supply you with fresh Deep Rock bottled water for cooking and drinking.
A drip coffee maker with filters is provided. Please bring your own coffee.

You will be able to explore the entire ranch. There are fish in the pond and you may fish - catch and release only using hooks with no barbs. Bring your own tackle.
I recycle and will supply the appropriate containers.
Want to bring your horse? Please contact me for more information.

Your "on the ground" hosts, Dianne and Jeryl, are only a short walk away at the "Big House". They are available to answer questions and concerns once you have arrived as I live in Denver. Dianne is my cousin and she and Jeryl have been on the ranch for 9 years, are knowledgeable, and helpful.

Bedroom One actually has a 3/4 antique bed - bigger than a single, but smaller than a double.
Fire is a constant threat. Please no smoking, or use of candles in the house. Be extremely careful of the fireplace and always close the screens to prevent sparks. At night and when leaving the house close the fireplace glass doors. Your care and attention is greatly appreciated.
