Beschreibung

Top floor charming studio with private entrance, brass bed, bathroom with shower, small fridge and in-room coffee/tea service. Located in Central Alameda, an easy bike or longish walk to the beach, Park Street shopping, Webster Street shopping, and more. Easy bus to SF.

The room contains a K-cup coffee maker and tea kettle. There is a mini fridge and small microwave just inside the left closet door for your use.

Access to the room is through the main vestibule, up the stairs and into the door on the left. There's a keyless entry lock on the door - you can come and go anytime you please.
Full kitchen and dining room use available by arrangement.

We are a sociable family with teenage boys; you're welcome on the main floor or can enjoy your own private space.

We're right down the street from a park, one block away from a funky neighborhood bar, and a few blocks away from the best tiki bar on the West Coast. Almost exactly between Park and Webster streets (1 mile each way) means it's easy to get to the Pacific Pinball Museum, 80s Arcade, Subpar indoor mini golf, historic movie palace and many small shops and restaurants.

Alameda is a great walking and biking town.

We are much closer to the Oakland airport than SFO. You can get to the Oakland airport via car (or Uber or Lyft) in about 15 minutes, SFO is a 45-90 minute drive (depending on traffic) or about 90 minutes via public transit.

San Francisco is a 20 to 45 minute drive from here, again depending on traffic. Make sure you have cash for the bridge toll ($4-$6) if you don't have FastTrack. Driving in SF is generally not mellow and most locals use public transit, Uber or Lyft. Parking is often difficult to find and usually expensive.

Getting to San Francisco via public transit:
I work in San Francisco and take public transit into the city every day. There are 3 ways to get there:

Trans-bay bus only - The AC Transit "O" line runs once or twice every hour, goes over the beautiful new SF-Oakland bay bridge, takes 20 minutes and costs $4.50 each way. During rush hour, the trip might take 40 minutes or longer. The bus stops 2 blocks from our house and will get you to the "Temporary Trans Bay Terminal" in downtown San Francisco, which is a short walk to sights or local SF transit (Muni or cable car).

Local Bus & BART (subway) - the AC Transit 51A to either Fruitvale BART or 12th Street BART. This bus runs much more often, but is less nice and takes about 40 minutes (transfer in Oakland) and costs about about $6.50 each way. The bus stops 2 blocks from our house. BART will get you to many places in SF, and you can transfer to a cable car or Muni, sometimes in the same station. You can also take BART to the SF airport, but plan on a 90 minute trip.

Ferry - very very nice way to get to San Francisco. The ferry runs once or twice an hour and takes about 20 minutes, but the ferry landing in Alameda is about 3 miles from our house and there's no public transit to it. I bike there, but you can also take an Uber for $5-$8. The ferry costs $5.00 each way if you pre buy a pass (Clipper card at Walgreens) or $6.60 if you buy a single ticket. The ferry gets you to the Ferry Building in SF which is a great place for touring and a short walk to local public transit.

Street parking available.

This place is super cozy. Its clean, uncluttered and cute. The bed is comfortable and I got a good night's rest multiple nights - no loud noises or disturbances. I didn't have any issues checking in or out. Both Ian and Elle were very helpful and communicative.

Ian and Ellen's place was great. The room was cozy and the bed was great! We enjoyed having our own bathroom and privacy. Having a coffee maker, electronic kettle, mini fridge and microwave was a plus. The room had a nice flare with the bird/nest theme. We were unable to meet our hosts but the communication was good and easy to get into our room. We would definitely stay here again.
