This beautiful slice of heaven sits on 1/2 an acre in St. Charles, just off the main highway. It is minutes from the North Shore beach (Bear Lake State Park).

Treat this space as if it was your own. We lovingly built this cabin and we are pleased to be able to share it and all the beauty of St. Charles, population 131.

You must be over 21 to check in and pick up the key from the property manager. No more than 10 people staying in the property at any time (including children), it is small and will not accommodate large groups of people.

We have a few requests to keep the property running smoothly for the enjoyment of all our guests. When you are ready to leave, please place dishes in dishwasher and start it running. Remove all bedsheets from the beds and place them in the living room along with all used towels. Please put one load in the washing machine and start it up, That will help us get ready for the next guests arriving. Leave the home picked up and orderly upon your departure.

Check In Sheet

_____Keys – One key will be given to the person in charge, over the age of 21, to use during your stay. The key must be left on the kitchen counter upon departure. Lost or stolen keys will result in a charge of $30.

_____ Quiet Hours/Surrounding Properties – Our location is rural, but we do have neighbors and noise travels. Please be respectful of our country surroundings and the residents who call St. Charles their year round home and do not play loud music until the wee hours of the morning, shout and carry on loudly, and party late. The normal quiet hours would be between the hours of 10PM and 8AM. Use discretion and respect the privacy of others.

_____ Garage/Parking/RV – There is no access to the garage. It will remain locked at all times. You may park on the cement pad in front of the garage and on the side of the garage. There is RV hookup by the door entrance to the garage at the edge of the cement pad. You will be shown this location if you have an RV. Parking is on the cement pads in front of the 2 garage doors, or around the circular driveway. Please do not park on the lawn. Use of the RV parking is at the discretion & approval of the property owner.

_____ No Smoking – This rule is simple. No smoking INSIDE the house. If you do smoke outside the home, please dispose of the butts properly and safely and do not just toss them into the yard. Failure to follow this rule will result in a charge of $250. Thanks!

_____ Food Rules – Please limit food to the kitchen, dining room, living room area, outside porches, and lawn. Absolutely no food is allowed in the bedrooms.

_____ BBQ – There is a Webber Grill available for use during your stay. Please make sure you understand how to operate the grill. If in doubt, please ask. This should be used outside, and cleaned up prior to departure. Don’t forget to shut off the grill after each use and turn off the propane too.

_____ Supplies – You will be shown the location of extra paper towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags.

_____ TV – You will be shown how to use the remote control and tv at check in.

_____ Utilities – You will be shown or told basic instructions about the utilities and potential issues. This instruction includes a brief explanation about how the water system works, shut-off valve, and location of all electrical breakers. In case of emergency, please call 911 AND one of the contacts listed on the bottom of this sheet: Shelsie (local property manager) or Cathy (owner).

_____ Décor – Please understand that you are responsible for the wall art and décor in the house. Broken or lost décor will be replaced by the property manager at your expense.

_____ Thermostats – There is no air conditioning in the home. Temperature can be regulated by keeping the windows shut during the heat of the day, and opening them during the evenings and mornings. It is best to not change the thermostats, but if you feel you need to increase the heat, you can do so but please reset all thermostats to 65F.

_____ Beach Towels – Beach towels are not provided If you did not bring your own, there are several locations nearby where they can be purchased. Bath towels are for indoor use only and may not be used at the beach under any circumstances.

_____ Linens & Laundry – The washer and dryer is located in the closet at the back entrance. Follow instructions on the knobs for the desired temperatures and wash/dry cycles. Additional towels are under the sinks in the bathrooms. Pillow, sheets and blankets for the sofa bed in the living room is in the closet of the downstairs bedroom. The bedding for the single sofa bed in the upstairs bedroom is in the south closet way in the back (should you need to use this bed). If you need additional assistance, please ask upon check in. There are extra sheets for the master bedroom and the cots in the master bedroom closet.

_____ Kitchen & Garbage – You will be oriented to the kitchen and proper disposal of garbage at check in. All appliances should be wiped clean before departure.

_____ Cleaning/Damage – Please follow the cleaning policy as listed in these instructions and on the website, mainly that the Bear Lake House is returned to satisfactory condition before departure at 11:00 a.m. This includes the porches, outdoor grill, and all other rooms and areas. The condition of the home will be assessed after departure by the housecleaning crew and property manager.

The place exceeded our expectations... It was clean and supplied with everything that you would need. The BBQ and front deck was our spot! Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else around Bear Lake in the future. 10/10

We spent our weekend in this beautiful house. The location is perfect for lake view. Super quiet and clean. Got all facilities we need. Love it very much.

The home is stunning! It has plenty of space, everything you need for a home away from home, is private and quiet but still close enough to drive and do things. We fully enjoyed our stay. The views are also breath-taking. I would definitely stay here again.

Hi Cathy, We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at your home. The weather during our stay was great with lots of sunshine and fantastic views. The home is a showcase and has the look and feel of a new home. I loved how well the radiant heat worked. We all slept well and enjoyed the peace and quite of the area. We may visit again in the spring or early summer and enjoy more of the outdoor activities the Bear Lake area offers. Thanks, Gary

What a beautiful time of year to spend a few days in the Bear Lake area. The leaves were changing color and the air was clear, crisp and very comfortable. This home is fantastic with everything one could want or need with plenty of room for a family and friends. Hoping we can do it again next year.

We loved staying at Catherine's house. The kids (and adults) had a great time playing in the large yard. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for meal preparation. It is in a quiet and beautiful setting and it was perfect for getting away and relaxing.

I am a banker in Wenatchee, WA. Married 35 years to my hubby and we have two children (daughter and son) and two grandchildren (Liam 2 1/2 and Liv 1, who we love more than anything!!). Our favorite travel destinations are anywhere warm, usually on a beach or by a pool, probably Hawaii or any other tropical destination. We love to go on cruises too. We've taken 3 trips to Sandal's with our friends: St. Lucia, Montego Bay Jamaica, and most recently Grenada and South Africa. We also love to go to movies too when we are home or just hang out with friends and family.

We decided to share our property in St. Charles with guests beginning in June 2016. We initially purchased the lot in 2006 with our daughter and son-in-law. They decided to build the house there in 2010 upon returning to the US from a 3 year stay in Brisbane, Australia. From there, we partnered with them to get the house built first in 2010 and the garage was completed in Summer of 2012. They built their lives in Bear Lake for the next 5 years working at Beaver Mountain Ski Resort, Minnetonka Caves, Zions Bank (in Montpellier) and the City of Paris (maintenance). They loved living in this community, made many strong friendships, and even had their first child there at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. But, after 5 years, and being pregnant with baby #2 (our granddaughter, Liv), they decided to move to Washington to be close to us in the Summer of 2015.

We have kept the home as our second home and decided to share it with other vacationers on occasion who love the quaintness of St. Charles and the unique North Beach area where you can walk out into the lake for a mile.
