In the Burley Katon Halliday designed "Republic 2", north-facing, close to everything inner Sydney has to offer - harbour, parks, the beach - as well as the best places to eat, drink, shop and play. You’ll love the vibrant, walk-anywhere location; the striking building; the abundant natural light; stunning views and the stylish, carefully selected art + furnishings - a unique haven in this eclectic part of Sydney. The apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
In a private, corner position within award-winning Burley Katon & Halliday designed building Republic 2, the apartment is a gorgeous and spacious haven designed to make the most of its stunning city views and open, sunny aspect. It is furnished with collectable furniture and art, and full-width glass doors and windows at one end ensure that the spectacle of the city of Sydney surrounds you wherever you happen to be. A private balcony with seating + a bbq runs the full width of the apartment and is perfect for breakfast, drinks or just sitting and contemplating the surrounding views across Darlinghurst to the CBD + Hyde Park. You'll catch more than a glimpse of fireworks during the summer, as Sydney moves into festive mode. A gourmet galley kitchen means you can cook to your heart's (or stomach's) content.
This apartment is a place to relax, indulge and enjoy the best that Sydney has to offer - you are at the centre of things here, but the exclusive design of the building and the position of the apartment ensure that you have peace and privacy at the same time as feeling part of it all. The complex has a pool, gym and concierge.

Interaktion mit Gästen
I try to meet all guests, but as I am likely to be travelling while hosting, our paths may not cross. I will arrange for a friend to be available to meet you should I be away.
Weitere wichtige Infos
You will have access to free WIFI within the apartment. There is no parking available in the building. You will be able to walk, take a bus / train or Uber anywhere you are likely to want to go while staying here.
This is an exclusive residential building in inner Sydney. A wonderful community of residents live within the complex. It is a diverse and tolerant group of people. Please respect the neighbours and behave as if you would like your own neighbours to behave towards you.
First and foremost I ask that my guests respect their neighbours and behave as they would like their own neighbours to conduct themselves. This is a residential building and the facilities are for the residents and their guests to make use of. For this reason - no parties.
The apartment is very comfortable for one or two people but not more. Please respect limit of 2 guests only.
Upon arrival you will be asked to show your passport and driving licence. It would be appreciated if you could have these ready.
I have an extensive selection of books in the apartment - please try and keep them in the condition in which you find them (some are a bit dog-eared and some are pristine - all are well loved). I do encourage you to read them though!
The REVO radio / speaker in the living area will pair with most devices via Bluetooth and will allow you to listen to your music.
This is a non smoking property indoors. If you need to smoke, please confine it to the balcony only and empty ash-tray when you leave.
The fridge is the first door on the left of the galley kitchen, the right hand door is the pantry and contains the micro-wave.
We provide a dryer for emergencies but for the sake of the environment and for less wear and tear on your clothes, we do provide a rack which is easily assembled on the balcony. It is under the bed. The air dries clothing very quickly - I recommend you put things out overnight.
The apartment has reverse-cycle ducted air-conditioning which offers both heating or cooling. Summer nights in Sydney can be hot and humid so I appreciate that you may need to use it. Again, I ask that you keep the environment in mind and make sure that all the doors to the balcony and the louvred windows are closed when you use it and consider putting it on for a couple of hours to cool the apartment down and then turning it off once it's comfortable. Keeping the blinds down during the day when you are out also helps to keep the apartment cool as well as protecting the art work from potentially damaging sunlight.
Everyday garbage can be placed in the garbage shute to the left of the lift in the foyer as arrive outside the apartment, however this is for general waste only. Please use the recycling bins in the bin area on Level 2 carpark (your key will allow you to access this area).
Thank you for respecting these rules!
Hard-working professional who is lucky to live in one of the most beautiful and generous cities on the planet. I've spent many years building comfortable and stylish surrounds in which I can unwind, reflect and indulge my love of literature, film and contemporary art. I can't live without good music (anything really), good food (Italian when pushed), a good book (Orwell, Didion, Marquez, Calvino, Mantel, Foster-Wallace, Saunders, Hitchens, Robb, Barthes, Moore - the list is endless), and the cinema (I wrote a university thesis on Baudrillard and Bladerunner - what was I thinking?) Travel is also a passion (France my fantasy second home), as is sharing great conversation and experiences with family and friends, preferably over a home-cooked meal and a bottle of Australian red (Mornington Pinot Noir currently a favourite).
I'll most likely be travelling while hosting so it's unlikely we'll get to meet for long but I hope you enjoy your time in my apartment - it's tailor-made for chilling out between whatever wonderful activities and adventures you are having in Sydney.
