A beautiful little cortajo in the old town, nestled underneath the castle. Open plan living area with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Upstairs is a large roof terrace offering gorgeous views of the Sierra Nevada.

The cottage is small but has everything you need; full kitchen facilities, juicer, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dinning table, TV and Satalite, wireless internet, stereo, radio, books, films and games.
Two bedrooms, one master with a comfortable double and the second room with two single beds. There is a good shower, toilet and basin in the bathroom. The place is light and and airy.

Upstairs is a very large roof terrace with a pergola. The terrace boast stunning view of the Sierra Nevada mountains. There is a large dining table (with parasol) and 4 chairs. Two sun loungers. Two reclining leather chairs. Barbecue. 2 electricity points. Lights and lanterns. The pergola itself offers shade with it's roof, and shelter from the winds with it's decorative sides but takes full advantage of the views on offer. There is a sofa bed up here and you could even sleep under the stars! A small coffee table and armchairs. Water points. Washing line.

Outside the back is small patio with stairs leading to the terrace.

Outside the front is a long porch with sitting access.

Guests are welcome to use the whole cottage.

We live in England but we have a housekeeper who speaks Spanish, French and English. She will be on hand to provide all information and meet and greet and changeover.

The centre of Salobreña, which is built on an impressive rock, is a maze of white houses making up the picturesque districts of Brocal, Albaycín, La Fuente and La Loma. There is no need for a map - just wander at will. Even if you don’t know which direction you are heading in, it will nearly always be either upwards or downwards!

Right on top of the rock, 105 metres above sea level, is the Arabic fortified castle, the Castillo. Every year the castle attracts thousands of visitors, and the best views are obtainable from this high point.

Just below the castle is the parish church, built on the site of an old mosque and distinguished by a Moorish style arch.

The other main feature of Salobreña is its wide beach, split in two by Peñon rock. The beach, although a short walk away from the town itself is the location of several “chiringuitos” (beach bars), very popular restaurants and bars with locals and tourists alike. (see restaurants)

The surrounding landscape is dotted with little farms and vinaries, and the nearby village of La Calleta is home to Europe's last rum factory, which, along with the climate explains the abundance of crops such as sugar cane that blanket this part of the coast.

The city of Motril is 4 km away and offers great markets and live flamenco. And of course, Granada (an hours drive through the stunning Alpujarras) is home to the world famous Alhambra palace and neighboring Albaicín district.

Orgiva, for it's large flee market.
Lanjarón, the spar town with natural springs.

Malaga airport is an hour and a half by car and two and a half by bus.
There is also an airport at Granada, offering limited flights.
Salobrena has a bus station with regular services to all neighbouring towns.

It is very easy and cheap to hire a car in Malaga, we recommend Malaga Car, (URL HIDDEN)

Whatever you do, don't hire from the airport!

There is free parking available in the neighbouring streets close to the house. However cars access is not suitable on these small Spanish streets, unless you have a very slim car!

Appreciate the house. Be respectful of neighbours if you return late.

It is clean and tidy. I love painting, walking by the sea a pint at my local.
The house is a listed Georgian building circa 1830 and has a lovely Garden.
It is a short walk to the sea 5-10 mins,
