This painted tipi is beautifully sheltered by a stand of tall cedar trees, and close enough to the creek to hear the comforting sound of the water.
It is a tan-colored painted tipi, and it literally adopted us. If you want, I'll tell you the story when we walk on the forest trail to your tipi.
The light inside is dimmed and soothing. - This tipi also has a beautiful stone floor, covered with a wool rug for warmth and beauty. The bed is queen size, comforter covered with extra wool blankets to keep it cozy in Oregon's cool summer nights.
This is one of the tipis with a rain hood, to keep you dry, so you can focus on listening to the raindrops' play on the canvas.
The forest turns magical at night, with the lights along the paths, and the tipis lit like big lanterns. Don't forget to take a stroll then along the forest path. The chickens are finally in bed, and the night sounds take over. And then there is the stillness.
Respect for this beautiful land and the keepers of this land.
We have a friendly dog of our own. He loves people and is used to having guests here, but he gets overly excited if other dogs come to visit. Please do not bring pets.
Tipi Village is a "sanctuary for the soul" as a guest once called it, a place that feeds the hungry. It is a very comfortable place, with beds in ZEN style tipis. It is a happy place for children of all ages.
We feed you well from local sources. You can just move into the village and focus on having fun with the kids - go treasure hunting in the creek, hike to the swimming hole or bring a book and read in one of the hammocks - and don't let the woodpecker keep you awake ..... If you are out for adventures, there is zip lining, whitewater rafting on the McKenzie, wine and beer tasting, horseback riding and more to choose from.
