I am a lifelong resident of Fleischmanns, New York who was educated at Columbia University, the University of Denver, and SUNY Delhi. I spent over 50 years in civil construction building golf courses up and down the East coast the last ten years before retirement.
Now, I have a 2nd career, a full service fly fishing shop located on the ground floor of the very same building that has my Airbnb elegant penthouse apartment.
My favorite travel destinations are trout fishing in Montana; and, someday Alaska and Patagonia. I would also like to return to Vail, Colorado to ski the deep powder in the back bowls. My favorite books are: "Polpetto" by Frank Mele, "Myths to Live By" by Joseph Campbell, and "When You Live by a River" by Mermer Blakeslee. I love Lina Wertmuller, Federico Fellini, Francois Traufaut, Robert Altman, and Ron Howard films. My tastes in music run from classical to Jazz to blues to folk. I enjoy American, oriental (am very proficient with a wok), Italian, and Hungarian cuisines.
Having me as a guest or host is an experience that one will likely not soon forget as my life's journey has been an amazing one; and, I enjoy sharing it with others. More than anything, I always enjoy listening to a guests stories; and, I derive a great deal of satisfaction of making their stay at the apt. a pleasurable and memorable one.
My style of travelling runs the gamut from walking to bicycling to automobile to bus to trains and to planes. I would love to fly on the Concorde someday on my way to fly fish the Test or Itchen Rivers in Great Britain.
I have several life's mottos:
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Procrastination is fear of success.
Judge not lest you be judged.
He without sin shall cast the first stone.
Life is all about giving back.
