Der Wohnraum

Cragowlet has been completely renovated over a period of 6 years and the work was completed during the summer of 2014. The renovation involved repair and restoration of most of its original features. During this restoration the opportunity was taken to upgrade the kitchen and bathrooms to modern standards whilst retaining the feel of a grand Victorian property.

The house contains three full sized bedrooms with one twin and two doubles one of which is en-suit. The bathroom contains a bath as well as a separate shower with a 1 meter square shower tray. The lounge has 8 foot high bay windows with views over loch long. The kitchen/dinner also has views over the loch and full dining facilities for six people.

Cragowlet Cottages were built mid 1850's as a tenement of four flats for Thomas Forgan and designed by Alexander (greek) Thomson. Alexander Thomson was an eminent Scottish architect and architectural theorist who was a pioneer in sustainable building. The building and surround is category 'B' listing from Historic Scotland.

The flat possesses magnificent views of the confluence of Loch Long and The River Clyde and beyond to the Cowal peninsula and the isle of Arran. Cragowlet House East retains its defining architectural features with ornate plaster cornice work, 'period' fireplaces, plaster corbels, architraves, skirting and sash & case windows.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und uns wurde alles super erklärt. Auch spätere Fragen hat Brian sofort geklärt. Es ist eine traumhafte Wohnung in einer tollen Lage. Jeden Morgen sah man direkt auf den Loch Long. Man hat keine 30 Meter zum Wasser. Wir hatten drei Wohnungen in unserem Urlaub, doch diese, als Letzte, war die Krönung von allem. Einfach nur super!!!

We had a great time at Cragowlet. Although we didn't meet Brian and Nancy, everything was prepared with great attention to detail! We especially enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen. Would highly recommend this house to someone who wants a quiet place with a great view!

We had a lovely stay at Cragowlet. The house is beautiful with a magnificent view. Brian and Nancy had thought of everything - the house and kitchen is very well equipped for a quiet stay. The kids had toys to play with and were very excited to see submarines passing by on the Loch. Highly recommended!

This is a fantastic home with wonderful hosts! Brian and Nancy greeted us on arrival, gave us a full tour and an overview of how everything works, and gifted us with wine, fresh bread, and jam. Yum! The home is an amazing combination of a beautifully furnished classic older, rustic building that has been modernized with contemporary features -- great wifi, fabulous, well-rounded kitchen, bathrooms with rain showers, etc. We had everything we needed and more. The location is right across the road from Long Loch, with fantastic views. It's within easy walking distance to a convenience store and the nearby village, and the Loch Lomond National Park is a short drive away. We very much enjoyed our stay here.
