Music and events fill the summer here or just enjoy the farm and the pace of life from another time.
Featured in this September's Downeast Magazine, Brooksville, Maine and our beach road!

As a guest said, "We LOVED this place! Rustic in appearance only - in fact the beds are comfy, the hot water plentiful, the porch screened and the lounge room upstairs is lovely. Gas stove and microwave. Both the porch and lounge look across a meadow. The whole area is quiet and beautiful. We would return here without hesitation. In fact, if we're in the area again, we fully intend to! Good for couples or families. Enjoy! "

The most beautiful waterfront land in Brooksville, farmed by our own family for generations, surrounded by water and two private beaches on our organic farm, make this cabin one of the finest in the area.

Bucks Harbor Yacht Club, The Marina and Market, Farmer's market on Tuesday and Buck's the restaurant are right here. Across from Castine where the Maritime Ship and all Castine has to offer, Brooksville abounds in seasonal energy.

"The way life used to be!" Brooksville, Maine, Aunt Mary's Organic Farm Cabin on Waterfront .Kitchen, dining, living, screened porch, 1 King, 1 queen, 1 1/2 baths, with laundry. Saltwater farm on 22 acres, open space and organic farming.

The farm has been in the family for generations and this cabin was originally used as a pottery barn. We made it into a wonderful country retreat for family and guests. Available throughout the season!

Our guests love the quality of our rustic but comfortable cabin. Walk to two beaches, kayak, swim or relax on the screened porch. This cabin is it's own little house in Maine. Lobster pots are ready for your lobsters as the kitchen is fully equipped. The peninsula is full of organic food and restaurants and art galleries are nearby. Guests enjoy Kneisel Hall music and the Stonington Opera House and Jazz Festival. Come enjoy Maine as Maine used to be.

We encourage longer stays because once you are here you won't want to leave!
The closest airport is Bar Harbor and Bangor. Buses from Boston to Bangor.

Our farm is exactly as it has been for the past 180 years. It reminds me of life as it was before all the hassles of modern day life. The air is clear, the birds and flowers fill your eyes and ears and the water and salt air make sleeping so peaceful. The water is full of every kind of boat imaginable. Directly across from the Castine Yacht Club, the sounds of the bell buoys and the starting gun for the days race, the Like Nantucket years ago, Brooksville is held in time, a truly amazing place.

Another guest commented,
"We have such a great time in this place. In full nature, juste near the nice and confortable! Childrens can play in the garden... All the area is so calm and cool! Carole and her husband are really nice. Thank you for this great holiday! "

We had a wonderful time at the farm. It was rustic but very unique. Perhaps their information could be updated to indicate there are no longer any animals at the farm, but that didn't affect our enjoyment of the house. The cleaning fee was a bit high, and almost caused us to choose another property, but overall we were very pleased with our stay, and Dick and Carol were very welcoming. And the welcome wine and cheese in the fridge was a plus!

Carol and her husband made us feel very welcome in their beautiful charming, countryside cabin. We loved everything about it and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family. Maine at it's very best is what you get to experience when you are here. We even got access to some of the fresh squash, apples and pears from their farm which we highly appreciate. The beach is walking distance and we got to experience one of the best sunsets of our lives. It's perfect getaway for city folks like us who hardly get to experience country life like this. forget about working while visiting this pace especially if you want to be online since internet is a major drawback on this property. The surroundings and neighborhoods are also beautiful.

Amazing experience blending gorgeous open green space and the ocean. It was incredibly peaceful with amazing views. Perfect place to chill with friends and family. Bagaduce's is a must for lobster rolls or haddock sandwich!! (5mins up road) Lots to do within a short drive; Deer Isle, Blue Hill, lake swimming and of course lobsters!

The cabin is cozy and well-equipped. While it is rustic, a stove, quilted beds, and a fake fire place made September Maine nights very comfortable. The screened porch overlooking farm land is a lovely feature, and the cabin is a very short walk away from a picturesque, secluded, shell-laden beach. While we had great weather to be outdoors during our entire visit, an interesting cabin library of books and dvds is another plus. Carol and husband Dick were very helpful in providing suggestions of local restaurants for our evening arrival, swimming locations, and thrift shops for college student furniture. They had also left wine, cheese, and crackers for our arrival. We enjoyed a wide-ranging chat with them on their front lawn and meeting their little dogs.

Carol made us feel very welcome. Had a nice cookout with our hosts and others right next to the beach. The weather was beautiful and no rain. The Location is within walking distance to the beach. The building we stayed in was very clean. The place does have wifi, but only seemed to work on the back porch. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We had a very nice time. I would say if someone is looking for a party area Brooksville is not the place. Not a whole lot going on, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. If you have a rental car you can drive an hr or 2 and get to some bigger areas with various food, bars etc. Great location for couples looking to kick back and enjoy the scenery.

Staying at Carol and Dick's is the best. This is our fourth year and while this year's visit was shorter than we might have liked, it was still a treat. We love it in Brooksville and can't wait to return!

Our family had a fantastic time in the cabin. It was such a treat to wake up every morning looking out over the fields and walking to the water for a morning swim. Carol and Dick welcomed us for a lovely campfire with other guests. They were very informative about things happening in the area. The house was rustic and we practically lived on the screened in porch.

Moving to Maine, back to the family farm, has been an amazing experience as we share a rekindling for a simpler life and a more sacred existence. Our replenishing the ground to rebuild our environment as we cultivate medicinal herbs has been a reconnection to a simple and elegant purpose. Our grandchildren and grown children are our life's loves and we travel to see them all. We use Home Exchange to travel on occasion when we are not visiting our family and have been to many wonderful places. We love the cultural and creative events here in Brooksville and love to cook in as we but our food directly from our farmers so the quality challenges the best we have had in France! Naturally, a rural life is full of movies and reading and we participate in many local activities from US First robotics, teaching at the Maine Maritime , writing and working of film.
We genuinely enjoy our wonderful guests and can say they have all enriched our lives.
Our lives are full and in turn we try to stay on our path to renew this farm and have a sacred life, close to nature and the people we love.
