This is a fully-furnished duplex apartment. above the beautiful Baia del Carpino, at the northern end of the borough of Scalea. Available for your dream holiday on the southwestern Italian coast of Calabria, for short or long term holiday stays. 15 min walk from secluded, 'private' beaches. The apartment boasts a fully-fitted kitchen, washing machine, front and back yards and a terrace overlooking the greenery of the Sirenetta condo. An excellent pizzeria /bakery, just a few steps from the front door, is open for business during the summer months.

Calabria is one of the most alluring regions in Italy, albeit somewhat neglected by countless political administrations. Making up the 'toe of Italy's boot' this region is blessed with a wonderful, warm weather along its stunning coast and low plains. The Apennine mountains, though, can be very cold and snow-bound in winter. This unusual geoclimatic situation offers the opportunity to enjoy both, seaside holidays and hikes, as well as winter breaks and cross-country skiing.

Steeped in history, as expected from a region actively inhabited since pre-Roman times, Calabria offers some of the best beaches and seascapes of southern Italy. Along the Tyrrhenian sea, the coastline faces west and looks down onto Sicily, but also offers magnificent, wide beaches facing south towards the Ionian sea and North Africa.

The Riviera dei Cedri is a stunning stretch of the south-western coast of Italy, in the Calabria region. The area is also celebrated for its production of prime quality citron fruit (cedro), a must in the Jewish tradition for the passover celebrations(URL HIDDEN)

Scalea is one of the most popular holiday spots of this riviera, near the northern limits of the gulf of Policastro. The Italian south-western coast offers magnificent views and a variety of natural amenities: from the white sandy beaches near Cape Palinuro to the rugged, volcanic cliffs that form parts of the Riviera dei Cedri. In between, you get historical features such as, the roman ruins at Cirella, medieval hamlets, or the many Saracen, lookout towers peppering the coastline(URL HIDDEN)
Besides the sea-views, the seaside life and the mesmerizing scuba-dives (URL HIDDEN) there are prime areas of interest for nature-lovers. Most important among these, is the Pollino National Park. This is laid along the slopes of the Apennine mountains, just behind the riviera dei cedri, and is the largest nature reserve in Italy(URL HIDDEN)
Night-life in Scalea and surrounding towns is active and fun. Many local fairs, such as the fair of the chili pepper in Diamante, highlight the summer months. Besides, you can always take boat trips along the riviera or, from the Cetraro harbour, boat trips to the Lipari islands, overlooking the northern coast of Sicily.

From Calabria, most of the southern Mediterranean - such as the islands, as well as Naples, Pompei, Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano - is readily accessible for day trips and longer visits.
