Mr Liang was very kind and came to the airport to pick us up without charge. He also took us to the Supermarket and gave us ample information on the local area. He even offered at an additional cost his services to take us around Beijing.
The place itself was better than described, with everything neatly and cleanly prepared. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils you need to cook and very well set up. The bedrooms were large, the beds huge. The bathroom was clean and had a great shower. All the facilities including washing machine, fridge, air-conditioning and TV were in excellent condition. There is an additional sun room in the front to hang your washing where it dries rapidly due to the great sunshine it receives. The apartment also gets lots of natural light.
The apartment itself is located in a very good and very welcoming area in the Northern suburbs of Beijing. In terms of convenience for us it ticked all the boxes. It is an easy 1 km walk to the Tiantong Yuan Metro station Line 5, which gets you into central Beijing in about 35 mins and links up with a number of other lines that can get you to any of the major attractions you are seeking in Beijing. It also links up with the Line 10 where you can transfer to the airport express and be at the airport within 45 minutes for 25 Yuan per person.
The apartment located within 1 km walking distance of a major shopping mall, which Mr Liang was very kind to take us to the first time. Here you can purchase food or anything for that matter, with also a variety of eateries. Food is reasonably priced at the Supermarket. There are also two small convenience stores nearby the apartment, one right next to the apartment, where you can purchase any necessities such as water or food items you need, at a reasonable price.
Overall, we would highly recommend this home and commend and thank our host Mr. Liang for his generosity and kindness. He cannot speak English, but we cannot speak Chinese yet, so we used a translator app to communicate effectively with each other.
The one small thing to clarify with Mr. Liang before you arrive is whether he will stay for the first night or two. He explained that he lives 300kms from Beijing and needed to stay two days with us. This was not a problem for us. He spent the time in his room, but if this presents a problem for you, please make sure to clarify with him before your arrival.
The internet was also great in the apartment, with fast speeds, but if you are planning to use western websites, make sure to get yourself a VPN before you get to China, as most western sites are blocked in China.
Thank you Mr. Liang, we highly recommend you and the apartment.
