Brynheulog is a spacious, stylish, 4 bedroom Edwardian Villa with plenty of free parking on the edge of Caerphilly town. The house is under 10 minutes walk away from public transport into Cardiff, making it great for sporting events in the Millennium Stadium.
The house is comfortably furnished in a style which complements its Edwardian heritage. There are 4 good sized bedrooms, 3 of which are en-suite. The master bedroom has a very large bath and separate shower and a king size bed. The second bedroom has a double sized bed and the third (front) bedroom has two single beds. The last bedroom is a converted study with a double sofa bed. All of the bedrooms are well furnished and comfortable with plenty of bedding and towels.
Downstairs there is a large well furnished lounge with wooden dividing doors through to a dining room that will seat 8 people comfortably. These doors can be fully opened if there is a need for more space. There is a large games/exercise room opening onto a patio which leads to the back gardens. There are a number of board games available as well as table tennis. There is also a downstairs cloakroom and toilet.
Also on the ground floor is a separate TV lounge/library which is comfortably furnished for relaxation. This room leads into a spacious, well equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar. There is an Aga which can be lit on request for longer bookings. Leading from the kitchen is a conservatory/second dining area which overlooks the side gardens. The conservatory is an ideal summer dining room. The house has full gas central heating in addition to the Aga. There is a washing machine, dish washer, fridge and separate freezer and also an electric cooker for use in addition to or instead of the Aga.
This is a spacious, comfortable, family friendly home with large gardens and an open aspect. You can stroll into the town centre in under 10 minutes where you will find Britain’s oldest Norman castle which has been partially restored and is well worth a visit to see its leaning tower. There is a good shopping centre with plenty of cafes and restaurants and a train and bus station which will take you anywhere you might wish to go. The house is ideally placed for shopping or seeing a show in Cardiff, either travelling by car or train. The Showcase cinema complex is nearby (10 minute drive) where you will find bowling and a selection of restaurants. The local taxi service is also very reasonably priced and very reliable. There is a private driveway with parking for up to four cars.
For those interested in walking, there are numerous country walks through ancient woodlands literally beginning at the end of the street. There is a local walking group who would be happy to show you the various walks around the hills and mountains surrounding Caerphilly. There is a very active Woodland Trust in the area that has worked tirelessly to provide excellent pathways and picnic areas through the woodlands.
There is a welcome pack of coffee/tea and a few other basics.
There is also a linen change once a week for those on longer term lets. The house can accommodate up to two well behaved dogs!
No more than 8 people are allowed to stay on or visit the property at any time. I also humbly ask that you treat this house as you would your own home.
No Smoking inside the property. There are receptacles outside the door to the games room at the back of the house where you can smoke and deposit cigarette ends.
If you have any special sleeping requirements such as mattress protection please let me know in advance so I can prepare.
If you have dogs please clean up after them and deposit their waste in bags in the green bin beside the large red gate.
Please consider the neighbours if you are playing music, particularly in the garden areas.
Please conserve water where you can as the house is on a water meter.
Please do not use any tanning agents during your stay as it causes considerable problems with the cleaning of bed linen.
Be sure to extinguish any lit candles before retiring to bed.
Young children should be supervised at all times outside the front door area as the wall and steps are quite high. You should also take care around the water culvert which will be fenced off during your visit.
The garden area is quite secure for dogs although the family retriever always managed to find a way in to next door to visit his two lady friends. Therefore please be cautious about letting your dog roam unsupervised. Where there’s a will there’s always a way!
For security purposes please keep the white painted door to the main road closed at all times.
Please do not allow your dogs to sleep on the beds.
Finally, please enjoy your stay!
