The positives: The apartment is located in the middle of a bustling area filled with restaurants, bars, shops and clubs, and it's a short walk or Uber ride to the city's neighborhoods and attractions. The walls of the building are so thick that street noise was hardly noticeable and I wouldn't have known about a party in an adjoining apartment had I not seen people in the hallway going into that unit. The studio's two couches are extremely comfortable. The huge, elegant window at the front of the unit gives you a great view of the street. The negatives: Sigh. The listing describes the unit as being "BRAND NEW." The condition of the apartment suggests otherwise. There were large, long dark scuff marks on the walls and large areas where paint was cracking off the walls. There were weird splatters of dried liquid on the walls. The fridge handle was broken and hanging down on the floor. The bathroom ceiling vent was clogged with thick dust. Three light fixtures were not functioning, and though Caleb texted back quickly and cheerfully when I texted him about getting replacement bulbs or some other fix, the lights remained non-functional throughout my four-night stay. For three out of a total of eight light fixtures to be out of commission, and not addressed, is just unacceptable: it was too dim to read in the unit and too dim for the work meeting with colleagues that I'd scheduled prior to arrival. I was unable to cook because the cabinet drawer containing the pots and pans was blocked by the oven. Because I couldn't prepare food, I had to pay for many more restaurant meals than I'd planned - a very big, unexpected expense - not to mention having to pay for delivered food for six people, rather than cooking for those guests as I'd planned. Note that the amenities described in the listing include the kitchen and the ability to entertain guests. Another unfortunate discovery: when you enter the unit from the building's common hallway, you are stepping right into the bedroom, with the head of the bed just 3-4 feet from the unit's front door, and the common hallway only a few inches away on the other side of that door. I'm not sure why that area was designated as the bedroom when the opposite end of the apartment could have been used instead. A caution about the unit's location: there is a large population of homeless people in the immediate vicinity of the building, and some were pretty confrontational about asking for money. Also, I got back to the unit one night to find two men sleeping on the ground right up against the building's front door. Initially they refused to move but eventually I was able to trade them my dinner leftovers for some space to use the security keypad and open the building door. As a female traveling alone, this didn't feel safe. (Yes, I could have called the police but I...

To all my future guests, I take a considerable amount of my time every day to make sure my visitors have a wonderful experience at my lofts in San Diego. I have proven numerous occasions that I will and have met with guests for something as simple as being locked out from their units to fixing drain issues late night on the weekend. Although I do agree with Jane's statement on the listing name, many of her other statements are perceived differently from my past guests and flat out aren't honest. For example, most people enjoy that the living room area is near the streets because when it is time to sleep they like the fact that stepping away from the busier street of downtown San Diego allows them to sleep more comfortably with less distraction. For the lighting situation, while I communicated with Jane about fixing the lights, when it was time for me to change them, she never answered me on our messages or opened the door when I knocked. It can be as simple as communicating more clearly from both ends but to defend my side as well as reassure your future stay, I was there to help her and will be for you too when you need assistance. Regardless, I read everyone's reviews and I consider what everyone is saying about their experience and the past guest as well as the next guest is equally important to me. I look forward to meeting my next guests and I am open to hearing about their stay in San Diego as well!

The house is in a busy location, walking to the Midway aircraft carrier attractions is 15 minutes, the evening drink a lot of places. There are also many parking lots, $ 15 every 10 hours. Overall it is good. Suitable for young people living.

This loft in the historic Gaslamp District of San Diego is literally right in the middle of it. The moment you step out you are mere steps in any direction from any number of great restaurants, bars, or shops, or any public transportation line to take you somewhere a bit too far to walk to. The location could not be better. The loft itself is a long single floor unit with beautiful hardwood floors and a high ceiling. We didn't get a chance to use it, but the kitchen area is fairly spacious and there is a dining that seats four comfortably. The bathroom is spacious as well, and the living area is right up against the window, but even though it's right on the street, noise is at a reasonable level. My only complaint - and it's a small one - is that while it gets plenty of natural light during the day, the lights are a bit dim for my tastes. Otherwise, we loved this space, and highly recommend it! :)

WELCOME TO SAN DIEGO!

MORE PROPERTIES IN DOWNTOWN AND LITTLE ITALY AREA HERE!
https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/55287801

Hello! My name is Caleb Ransom and I manage several units in downtown San Diego as well as a beautiful and newly acquired property in Little Italy. I come from a unique area in California called Ojai (Any 805s out there?) where I grew up with 3 siblings (one twin, one older brother and a younger sister) and a wonderful mother who I love with all of my heart. I have a border collie at home named Bebe and when I am home, I take her far into the dry and pink mountains of Ojai to run and adventure through dusty trails. I have been healthy enough to run 6 marathons in my life and I recently graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Financial Services. I am extremely curious about things, I have a deep passion for sports and working with people, and I am an advocate for dedicating my time with families and children in the disadvantaged areas.

I love my job because I love the feeling that I get by helping people come together to enjoy one another in THE finest city in America, San Diego. If you have any questions about the rentals I manage or about how to reach me, send me an inquire and I will do my best to answer.

SEE YOU SOON!
