Apart from walking or driving down the drive past the main house on the property, your time and space are private. We are available at all normal hours, via phone/text to answer questions and to provide information or recommendations about Rotorua's many amenities. Please ask if you need anything (we may be able to help), and please report any accidental damages, etc.
Weitere wichtige Infos
As we are not on site, please call or text us about anything - if you text us we are happy to call you back (with our credit/minutes) to address any matter fully.
The easiest place to launch the kayaks is 10 m to the right after exiting the stream gate - there are some rocks at the edge to step down/up onto. You can swim in the stream but it is very cold - however, the lake is warmer in summer (as are the other lakes in the region).
When parking please respect the fact that people in the front house need to have access to their parking spot by the front garage. Feel free to drive down the drive so as to park closer to your accommodation. Please keep the gate closed when not needing it open.
We'd really appreciate you telling us personally about any requirements or things you'd like to see provided, so that we can improve the experience for you next time! :)
We want you to enjoy our facilities, however.....
Please respect the privacy of those in our other dwelling and neighbours (though all are very friendly) and the peacefulness of our neighbourhood.
When cooking use the range-hood fan and please no cooking of strong smelling foods.
No pets allowed.
No smoking anywhere on the property please.
No parties or large numbers of visitors.
No excessive noise after 10 pm.
Please leave our holiday home as you find it - very clean, or arrange with the host to pay for cleaning ($40), which we are very happy to organize.
Please hose down the kayaks after use - they may be re-stacked wet. Hang up any wet life-jackets to dry, on the large hooks above the kayaks in the garage, please. Please also re-hang the deck chair squabs in the garage at the end of your time.
Relax and enjoy!
We love Rotorua, but Melva and I have moved away to a teaching position in Whangarei. We are now closer to all of our grandchildren and can 'do life' with them, which we really enjoy.
We also love our property in Rotorua as it caters well for our extended family when they visit as well as for our various guests. We value our easy access to water and water based activities, we hope you will too. Of Rotorua's many attractions we especially enjoy: the gondola and the luge; scenery and culture; walks, cafes and 'Eat Street'.
We bought no. 24/our home as a project. My wife spent childhood holidays with her grandparents there and Phil has enjoyed the complete rebuild process of the guest house, though the main house is not yet completely finished.
