A very sweet little cottage with a beautiful courtyard garden - perfect for what we needed. It is ideally situated for walks in the countryside, and for day trips to the beach. Slapton and Torcross is walkable, or 3 mins in the car. Kingsbridge is 15 mins car drive, lots of lovely neighbouring villages, and Salcombe and the beautiful North Sands is about 30 mins drive. The Tradesman's Arms pub is a 1 minute walk from the cottage, and has a lovely pub garden. The pub does amazing food (try the steak and ale pie!!) and is dog friendly. We were able to sit and eat in the pub area with our dog. Staff very friendly. There is also The Church House Inn a few minutes walk away, which we didn't try, but looks lovely. There is a little farm shop and cafe about 10 minutes walk, which has everything you could want. The cottage itself had everything we needed including today's must have; wi-fi! You will need to take your own towels, but that is in the cottage description, so no surprises there. The only thing I would say is that the parking space pictured on the cottage's description, does NOT belong to the cottage. We weren't able to park there and a neighbour kindly explained that it belongs to somebody else. There are no spaces up the street at all, so we ended up parking right up the top of the street, on the road that runs along the top. Not an issue for us, but the property details are misleading in this respect, and if parking is a must have for you on your holiday, then you will need to know this.
The owners were so very helpful - can't speak highly enough of them. We will definitely be returning soon!! A fantastic holiday and a fantastic cottage!!
