Thank you very much for your stay and your comment. We are very sorry for the inconveniences.
I would like to take a stand on it:
There is no construction season. Unfortunately the neighbours decided after 30 years to do works just during this month.
A thunderstorm damaged the internet modem and so we had to wait for the technician. I borrowed a mobile router to bridge the problem. The connection is working very well again, it has been repaired.
As we increased the power from 3 kW (standard) to 6.6 kW, exactly in order to gurantee the possibility to heat the whole house, there were problems with the electric circuit. Unfortunately we noticed that only during your stay, so we fixed it immediately. Please remember that it's not usual in Sicily that you can run 3 air conditioners and a boiler (and even more) contemporarily.
Only today we've noticed that the extra cost for the power consumption was only mentioned in Italian language. We've just corrected it. Please pardon this error.
The guests in December paid "only" 20 €, so I didn't imagine that you would consume 300 kWh in 6 days. This is much more than the average. We can blame it on the bad weather and the fact that the house was uninhabited for a few weeks. Electricity is very expensive in Italy, maybe the most expensive in Europe, as we don't have any nuclear power plants.
I charged 200 kWh instead of 300. Yes, our monthly bills are indeed very excessive here, especially because we have a "6.6 kW - contract" and it's not a residential house but a holiday home. We do not charge more than we pay for it.
In almost every house that you rent in Sicily you have to pay extra for power, at least the ones we know.
I would like to underline that the family that stayed here directly the following week was 100 % satisfied and enjoyed it very much.
