Liberty has the best little secret in the historic district. The carriage house was easy to find. If you're driving, there is a store on the corner that has "DO NOT ENTER" signs in their parking lot. At first, we thought they were for the street but once we realized, it was fine. (It was an issue for Uber drivers throughout the week though. No fault of Liberty's!)
The carriage house is behind a larger house, so when you go through a gate, you'll have to walk past that to get to your destination. Once you do though, you'll find a clean, well equipped and comfortable place to stay. There is a Kroger within walking distance, and that was awesome for us to get some supplies for the week. (Tip: they roll fresh sushi there every morning - soooo good!)
Forsyth Park is a 2 block walk, and it's absolutely beautiful. My husband ran around there a few times and loved it. Downtown is a bit of a hike from the carriage house, but an Uber is $5 each way, and well worth it. You'd pay at least $10 to park anywhere off of Bay Street.
As for parking at the carriage house, it's on the street, but it's plentiful and we had no issues. Just pay attention to the street sweeping signs on Thursday & Friday.
The carriage house provided us with a clean and comfortable place to land after we explored all that Savannah, Charleston and Tybee Island had to offer. I would recommend it to anyone!
Thank you, Liberty, for a fantastic place to stay in beautiful Savannah. We'll definitely be back!
