A well equipped and spacious 3 bedroom, 2 kitchen and 2 bath home, with sleeping for 11, on a 20 acre section of the historic Moore homestead. Close to mountains, on the way to Glacier National Park. Experience the 'last best place' in comfort!
1.Use: The Property is intended to be used for light recreational use. Motor vehicles are only allowed on established gravel roads to access the Property.
2.Good neighbors: Parties or other noisy activities are not permitted on the Property. Rocky Mountain Front Retreat is located in a rural agricultural/residential neighborhood and the Homeowner takes great care to maintain good relations with neighbors.
3.Children and others in need: The adults in the rental party are fully responsible for the children and others in need in the group.
4.Good order: The Guest agrees to keep the property and all furnishings and supplies in good order.
5.Gates: The Moore homestead where the Rocky Mountain Front Retreat is located is used for cattle grazing in the early and late summer periods (except for the area behind the fence surrounding the Rocky Mountain Front Retreat). During these periods the gates must be left closed to keep the cattle out from the immediate vicinity of the Rocky Mountain Front Retreat as the cattle can cause damage to the building and services. Follow the old rule for rural travel: leave all gates the way you found them!
6.Firearms and outdoor fires: The Rocky Mountain Front Retreat is part of the historic Moore homestead. Firearm discharge is prohibited on the Moore homestead. Outdoor fires are also prohibited.
7.Smoking and pets: Smoking is not allowed on the Property (except on the outside concrete patio) and pets are not allowed on the Property except with prior agreement between the Guest and Homeowner.
8.Appliances: Only use appliances for their intended uses.
9.Utilities: Please use the utilities, such as propane and electricity reasonably. Our rental fees are based on reasonable use. No long distance calls are to be made from the telephone except with a calling card or collect.
10.Parking: Parking is limited to 3 vehicles except with prior agreement with the Homeowner. Vehicles are to be parked in the front gravel parking area only. Parking on the grass or other vegetation around the building is not permitted.
11.Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the Property rental, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the Property.
12.Water and Septic system: Rocky Mountain Front Retreat is on a well and septic systems. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. Also, please do not use products with bleach or other products that may affect the effectiveness of the septic system. Water to the property is provided by a deep well. Water is a precious resource in this arid country so please use it reasonably so the well can keep replenished for ongoing use.
13.Animals and Insects: The Rocky Mountain Front is part of a wilderness eco-system in a potentially harsh climate; that is part of its attraction! Wind, sun, rain, snow, wild animals (such as bears, mountain lions, elk and deer), mice, squirrels, chipmunks and insects are a part of that system. The most common animals and pests that may find their way into the Property include ants, flies, mosquitoes, and even mice (if the doors are left open for example). Please keep the screens closed on windows and doors while enjoying your stay but that will not necessarily eliminate all occurrences of pests or animals.
14.Access: Under normal conditions the Rocky Mountain Front Retreat is accessible by paved road except for the last mile which is gravel and a ‘two track' road closer to the Property. In the event of extreme weather such as snow storms that block access, Guests need to use their judgement to park along or close to the Teton Canyon Road (paved road) which is normally plowed by the county when possible and then walk/ski in to the Property. It is approximately 1 mile from the Teton Canyon Road to the Rocky Mountain Front Retreat, which can be dangerous in extreme conditions. Caution should be used up to the point of seeking shelter in Choteau or other location if it is not possible to safely access the Property (e.g. whiteout conditions). These risks are part of staying in the ‘last best place' on the Rocky Mountain Front. Please ensure there is sufficient food and water with you on your travels and at the Property to last beyond any extreme weather event. In an extreme case at the request of the Guest the Homeowner (including property manager) will attempt to work with the Guest (long distance) to seek the assistance of appropriate machinery to dig up access at the cost of the Guest.
15.Condition when leaving unit: Please:
•wash dishes before you leave
•put all garbage in the bins in the unit and make sure the lid is on tight
•remove sheets and pillow cases and leave them on the bed they were on

We fell in love with the Big Island in 2000 and built Hale E Komo Mai in 2011. Now we are building new memories with our family, friends, and especially our grandchildren. We look forward to coming back to Hawaii each year while continuing to explore this vast and beautifully diverse island.
