A colour television with Freeview channels and DVD player, radio and CD player, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer come as standard. Ramps, wide doors and lowered light switches make these units accessible for those with accessibility issues and needs.
There are no hidden charges as all electric, linens, towels etc. are included in the tariff. Free hi-speed satellite Wifi. For the sake of other visitors, we ask for no pets and no smoking please.
Waterfront property on 20 acres of unspoilt land with stunning panoramic views of Hoy. The croft house and chalets are under the Rural Stewardship scheme to preserve bird life. There is a bird hide on the property to observe birds up close on the pond. Abundant wildlife can be viewed from the accommodation windows. A children's playpark adjacent to the croft house provides hours of play for young ones. A dedicated walk with gates at top and bottom has been developed giving easy access to the shore without having to climb over barbed wire. Secure storage for bicycles and camping and fishing gear. Central location to all tourist attractions.

Guests are welcome to explore the 20 acres of land right down to the shore to appreciate the abundant wildlife. There is a 9 hole golf course with clubs and balls and a croquet set available to guests as well as a children's play park with climbing tower, slides and swings. Also a BBQ area with two cooking pits, charcoal and cooking utensils.

Kathy personally greets arriving guests to show them around, answer any questions and handover the key.

THE PLACE
Buxa Farm Chalets are a great central base for exploring the range of amazing historical sites like Maes Howe chambered tomb, complete with Viking graffiti, the Ring of Brodgar standing stones and stunning Broch of Gurness.
A trip to Orkney must include a trip to the incredible Skara Brae prehistoric village, the best example of its type in Europe. It also boasts a fantastic visitor centre and a nice wee café. The local cheese platter is highly recommended.
Head south over the Churchill Barriers and visit the Italian chapel made by Italian POWs during WWII and then visit the incredible Tomb of the Eagles.
Go for a wander around Kirkwall town: see the magnificent St Magnus Cathedral and Orkney museum or explore some of the independent shops, cafes and restaurants on the High Street.
Take a trip to the dramatic cliff-top tidal island of Brough of Birsay. This was once the ancient Oradian seat of power. Check the tides to ensure a safe time for crossing!
Head to The Brig Larder on Albert Street in Kirkwall and pick up some local goodies, like fresh seafood, butcher meat, cheeses, ice cream, produce, wines, spirits and beers, all under one roof.
