Please note: This room is not in Edinburgh, it is in Dunfermline, Fife but at 30 mins on the train to central Edinburgh it is a stones throw away.

Spacious double room with en-suite bathroom, and everything you need. It is all on one level, being a modern bungalow, although there are a few steps up to the front door.

Private lounge, access to conservatory, and dining room to eat meals. Access to the kitchen. You are welcome to use the fridge and microwave and oven to prepare simple meals. You can store food in the kitchen. You are welcome to use the garden, including trampoline if you like!

We are a friendly household but if you like your own privacy we will respect that. We are happy to help with information regarding the local area.

Good neighbourhood, nice and quiet but a short walk to town, with some beautiful parks nearby. Easy access to takeaways, restaurants, cinema, gyms and other amenities. Buses are frequent with bus stops situated nearby.

Dunfermline was the ancient royal capital of Scotland for centuries and is therefore steeped in history. From its initial beginnings as a seat of power for King Malcolm (who defeated the famous MacBeth of Shakespeare), to the burial place of Robert the Bruce and birthplace of Charles I, Dunfermline has a special place in the history of Scotland. The wider region of Fife is renowned for castles, palaces, golf, beaches and food and drink. In addition, the 120 mile Fife coastal path runs near Dunfermline, and provides a variety of walking experiences.

There are lovely villages on our doorstep such as Culross, Limekilns and Aberdour, with the East Neuk of Fife not far away.

This room is not in Edinburgh, it is in Dunfermline, Fife but at 30 mins on the train to central Edinburgh it is a stones throw away. The nearest train station (Dunfermline Town) is a 12-15 minute walk away, or local taxis are plentiful and take around 5 minutes to the station.

If travelling by car the best way to reach the property from the south (Edinburgh), north (Perth/Inverness) or East (Dundee/Fife/St Andrews) is by exiting the M90 motorway at junction 3 and heading for the centre of Dunfermline via the A907/Halbeath road. A drive of around 5 minutes will take you past a football stadium and onto a small roundabout, turn left onto Garvock hill and then first right onto St Johns Drive. Follow this road and take the first left onto Coldingham Place, then drive up the hill and our house is at the corner of Hailes Place (it’s the house with the large garden with several trees). You can park in our driveway in front of the garage.

Dunfermline is well served by transport links for car, train, bus and air. There is easy access via the motorway to Perth and Edinburgh, both around 30 minutes’ drive out with rush hour, with Edinburgh airport also being easily accessible. Both St Andrews and Stirling are less than an hour’s drive away, with Glasgow taking around one hour.

There are regular train and bus services to other parts of Scotland and further afield. Edinburgh airport is close by and accessible by car, taxi or bus.

Although most guests prefer to make their own, I can offer a continental breakfast should you like one, of juice, fruit, yogurt, toast and cereal, tea and coffee for £5.00 per person. Otherwise you are welcome to make your own breakfast and store food in the kitchen. Please let me know at time of booking should you require breakfast.

I am a creative and quiet artist/designer/up cycler/writer in my mid 40's. I love music, have a big music collection and enjoy going to gigs. I also like visiting art galleries and spending time in nature, and we are ideally located for quick access to the countryside here. We are a family of three and I work from home so am around a fair bit.
