Window is working but was hard to open. We replaced the spring so as of 3/24/2017, now you can open it with one thumb. We have 7 apts and this is a corner 1 br. , Bedroom is facing busy Ave. This is two of 7 apts, bedroom facing busy avenue. If you (Hidden by Airbnb) it, you should know. If it was that noisy, he could slept in another bed in the living room facing no noise street. You are on busy Ave, that's why you have awesome transportation. With this money for this quality of apt and a parking space is an awesome opportunity. She booked for her colleague, he cancelled another reservation to come to here. Obviously, her colleague doesn't realize what NY or NJ is like. Busy is better for all. Safe and you have public transportation in your door step. I used to host $295/night 2br in downtown Brooklyn. Sheraton across the street and 3 other hotels in same block. We had four construction sites in the front and back. They started from 6am even on Saturdays which wasn't allowed. I apologized to guests before and after they (Website hidden by Airbnb) said on the listing as well. No one ever complained about that. They said that's what NY makes exciting. With this easy commute, we give a parking space for this money. This is an incredible deal. No one in NJ near downtown cannot park on the street unless you have a resident sticker. We provide a guest parking too.
For thermostat, we have central air and central heating. Thermostat is in the hallway set it at 70 degree. No one touches that. Once ac is on, heating is not on vice versa. we cannot put ac in the morning and change to heat at night. We have four seasons in NY. During transition time, it's difficult...you might have open the window if temp is not right for you. But how many apts building have central air and heating? My apts are very cool in summer and very warm in winter. Do you know how lucky that is to have in NY and NJ? I live in apt building, from studio ranges from $100,000 to 4 million for 3 br. We have the same thing. Either heat or ac, you cannot have both. But once ac is on, you can't complain; it's So Cool. Warm in winter months. That's what's count. That's mostly what it is in NY and NJ. Window ac and split ac in the hotel rooms are filthy. Filters are so dirty. Have ac turned on small closed room all the time are not healthy. Air quality is horrible. Some have blocked windows. I am just telling you good and bad side of the story. It's like you are complaining why is it so hot in Texas, why we don't have long winter in Texas? When the weather is changing from Winter to Spring, Autumn to Winter, we have this issue, the day he checked in was 26 degree and next afternoon went up to 58 degree, but with all that sun, felt like 80 degree.
Another incident I would like to share is that My friend's family slept in $350/night hotel in Manhattan and bitten by bed bugs. Bed bugs are very common in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It's your choice. I think best thing to do is you or your friend should drive by before you book.
Last thing, I told Helen who booked, I have to review my cancellation policy and talk to Airbnb first before I give her the answer. Which I did. I answered 17 out of 18 questions she had. We have time difference too. I don't have to call her back after midnight.
This kind of review hurts when you have more than 10 listings.
