Beautiful view of Gwrych Castle, 15-20 mins walk to the sea, 20 mins drive to Snowdonia National Park and close to public transport networks.
This is a designated Airbnb room with ample storage space and a comfortable double bed. It is up 2 sets of steepish stairs so be warned.
Bathroom shared with guests in other Airbnb room, and we use the shower too
Dogs and children welcome but neither to be left unsupervised at any time :)
The room is on the top floor of our lovely three floor red brick Victorian terraced house. From the room there are clear views of Gwrych Castle and also just to the right one can just see the sea. Though be warned the stairs are steep as the ceilings are high.
We also rent another room on this floor which has a small double bed and a single bed and can be found on https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/15441095?guests=1&s=fcT_NZ5J
The bathroom is on that floor. We do use the shower most mornings but otherwise it is just for guests.
The beach is just 15-20 mins walk away, the castle a similar distance. Abergele&Pensarn station is just 15 mins walk and the A55 is only 3 mins drive.
If it works around our schedule then we are happy to pick up from the station. Otherwise it is easy to find.
For those coming by car there is safe on-street parking in Eldon Drive which is directly opposite the house

Entrance is through the front door and porch. We do ask that you take your shoes off on entering. We do have some Ikea slippers for guests use just inside the front door.
There is then a climb of 2 sets of stairs.
Guests will potentially share the bathroom with other guests as we rent both rooms on the top floor. We only come up to that bathroom to shower.
Guests are welcome to use our kitchen to cook meals and we can all work around each other for timings. And guests can sit in the dining room or in the little snug to eat. The snug also doubles as a guest TV lounge, but here guests do need to communicate with each other about who watches what and when. We have seen many great conversations come from guest's time in this room.
We have our own lounge and will disappear in there of an evening.
Guests are welcome to smoke in the backyard. And are also welcome to leave luggage in the snug if their transport arrangements mean they need to check out of the room and do some more sightseeing before they leave the area.
Guests are free to use our washing machine and there is an clothes airer on the landing outside the room.

Ian knows the area well and is happy to talk about walks in the area and lend out his maps and guidebooks.
We gathering a large selection of books on walks, climbs and attractions in the area which guests are free to read and borrow. We also have books in most rooms of the house again which guests are free to read whilst staying and can even negotiate a swap system :)
We enjoy talking to our guest, especially a good natter over breakfast. And we are available often to give help and advice. Please do ask us questions rather than put up a "why didn't you say ...?" review :)
There can be times when it all works out well to share a meal together too, which is fun.
I do run writing workshops from home so there are times when I will have to ask guests to not use the dining room and to keep noise in the snug and kitchen to a minimum when the workshops are happening. Mind you guests are also more than welcome to join in.

The only thing of note is the stairs which can seem steep. We are happy for large cases to be stored in the TV lounge if guests would prefer not lugging them all the way up the stairs :)
Renly, our dog, is small and will yap when you arrive - in fact will yap whenever you come to the door - but will then be really welcoming and want to make you his friend for live; or at least for as long as you stay :) Please do not feed him titbits as he will expect everyone to do that. He expects that anyway :)
Damson, our cat, is a bit more standoffish and will keep her distance. Although do feel very honoured if she decides to make you her friend. It doesn't happen often. She will enter any room that has an open door so be careful leaving a room that she doesn't get shut in as she will tear up the carpet!
- shoes off on entering - just because the house is new to us and the carpet is awesome.
- and general quiet and respectful :)

We moved to Abergele in Feb 2016 with the view to having a quieter lifestyle, being close to the sea and mountains, so we are still finding our feet and love it when our guests help us find new and interesting places.
Ian has done lots of walking and climbing in Snowdonia so has a lot of books and maps that he is more than willing to lend out and to give advice.
And we do have a large selection of leaflets in a box in the bedroom and in the hall table.
We have a friendly dog and stand-offish cat as well as a crazy rabbit.
I am flexible about check in times but also run creative writing workshops in my house so will ask guests to work around the timings of those. Guests are more than willing to join in too for the same price as my participants.
