Need a break from the generic hotels along I-95? Let me give you a room in a real home, with a real mom and morning coffee that begins in my vintage coffee grinder handed down from my grandmother. If you've been on the road for awhile, you can recharge here and get a fresh start again. On your way in and out of town, take note of charming and historic Fredericksburg. Or spend a couple of days learning about the rich Civil War history that grew into a rich cultural and artistic community.

My young adult son and I are honored to offer three private bedrooms on the second floor, each listed separately, as well as an en suite room on the first floor. This listing is for the twin bedroom shown with exposure from the north and east. The bed is an antique mahogany twin poster bed with a foot board at the base, as shown in the photos, with standard twin size 75" long mattress. You are steps to the bathroom which is sparkling clean and shared with my 20 year old son. Private bedroom include freshly made bed with cotton linens and towels.

I have a clean, spacious and elegantly furnished colonial home on a street known to Civil War buffs and within walking distance to Old Town Fredericksburg, Mary Washington Hospital and the University of Mary Washington. Parking is plentiful, WiFi is available throughout our 2900 square foot home, and the kitchen and baths are shared. While we don't own a pet we do occasionally pet sit for a friend.

Let us know if you don’t have soap or shampoo. We’re happy to share. Want coffee? No problem. I'm happy to make you coffee with my French press in the morning. Just let us know what you need.

Our home is located in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood of classic homes directly across the street from the University of Mary Washington. Access to I-95 is two miles away and the train station, offering the southernmost stop on the Virginia Railway Express, is 1.5 miles. Coffee shops, restaurants and unique shops and art galleries are one mile from the house.

Fredericksburg is home to many historic battlefields, museums, art galleries, restaurants, shopping and more. The shopping district will lure you with free two hour parking. If you are without a car, I am happy to transport you to public transportation or the grocery store if our schedules align. I’m a long time resident of Fredericksburg and will gladly share what I know about this beautiful region.

Denise was located right near campus for a great price. Her communication before my arrival was great and she was very kind to greet me and give me a tour of the home even though it was getting late. She had everything I needed from towels, rags, soap, lotion, fan, and ironing board. The space was perfect for a 1-person in-and-out stay.

It was pretty incredible overall. Denise made me feel welcome and the atmosphere of the house is pretty relaxing. Air conditioning was nice, bed was comfortable, everything was clean and she was very caring about leading me to right direction in Fredericksburg. I would recommend her place to anyone visiting the town. Her place is a short walk/drive from downtown Fredericksburg and the neighborhood is pretty nice. She also offered to drive me to a spot to downtown when I was heading out. Can't recommend this place enough. Thanks!

This was my first Airbnb experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Denise was a friendly, gracious host. She was very considerate of her guests' needs; choosing to make smoothies during the day when no one was there rather than running the blender in the morning and risking waking someone. She was easy to talk with and made me feel right at home. Her homemade breakfast quiche was delicious! The house was clean and the bed was comfortable. I liked the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. I enjoyed being able to sit on the deck and read. I would definitely stay here again! I feel like I made a new friend.

She met me, was very accommodating. Neighborhood is nice - but I was busy at a transit convention and didn't have time to walk around. Right behind Mary Washington U. Nice house, wood floors (which I appreciate).

I am a multifaceted woman much like the stones I use in my artisan jewelry designs. I have worn many hats from nurse anesthetist to jewelry designer, single mother (to three young men), founder of non-profit art co-op, oil painter, amateur photographer, orchid grower, exercise/nutrition enthusiast. I also love design, fashion, and the sea.

I love hosting, meeting new people and sharing my home with others.
