A perfect spot fir a proper break from everything, Dimitris' villa between the beautiful Love Bay and Russian Bay offers peace, tranquility, total privacy and everything you need for a self-catered holiday. If you do not fancy cooking, you can walk for 10 mins to Neorion Bay to the sea view tavernas along the beach. Perfect.
Absolute perfection! Dimitris is a wonderful host and his estate is truly beautiful. The little cottage is clean and cool. It is private and you have access to a little beach which you share with anyone staying in the big house at the same time. The local Tav only a 10 minute walk away serves delicious classic Greek dishes and if you are lucky you will catch some music and dancing during your stay. Poros town has plenty of bars and restaurants and holiday shopping opportunities but still feels authentically Greek with its little white washed houses that tumble down a hill from the old clock tower. We had friends staying in the Peloponnese so it was a perfect location for us to do day trips to see each other as the taxi boat over to the mainland takes around 5 minutes. A trip to Poseidon's Sanctuary and the Monastery beach are essential to see what else the island has to offer but in all honesty - Dimitris place and the stunning Love Bay are the BEST spots on the island so rest assured you've chosen well if you stay here! Thank you Dimitris....we miss you! We will most certainly be back. Lou & Andy xxx
We had a great stay in this lovely house. The property is beautiful and lets you escape the potential summer/week-end crowds of Poros island. We were able to manage without a car (except a taxi from and to the port) or scooter, we just rented bikes for a couple of days and otherwise enjoyed spending most of our time on the private beach or the terrace. The house itself is tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Dimitris was extremely welcoming and helpful, he gave us great recommendations (especially the taverna nearby where we ended up eating pretty much every day). We also loved hearing about the history of the main house. Overall one of our top airbnb experiences!
WOW! Seriously just WOW! I almost want to keep this wee place a secret so I can make sure I can book again if I'm in Athens and want a break from the city. Honestly can't thank Dimitris and Toni enough for everything. Had a lovely welcome from Toni at the top of the road and he made sure we had everything for a comfortable stay. Dimitris welcomed us at the house with a few friends, human and animal. Papito the dog and Marilu? The cat, who hung with us the whole stay and is pretty much the best little cat I've ever met. I'm also allergic but she stayed out the house and just tagged along when we went for our morning swim. Ok so now the house, it's slightly smaller feel than what I expected but it's no problem at all. It comfortably slept 3 of us and had everything we needed. The kitchen is great, I'm a chef and I loved cooking in it, simple and all we had to bring was the food and copious amounts of fix and tsiporo ;) Plenty of dinner eating options as there are three different tables outside and in. Showers fantastic and hot, perfect for after your swim. The WIFI wasn't amazingly strong but it wasn't a massive deal, was just for non Greek speakers the tv wasn't a great option so we wanted to stream a few late nite movies after dinner. But that's the only little gripe I had. Now that private beach. OMG! Seriously one of the most beautiful places I've had the luck to swim in. It's like something out a travel magazine. Amazingly clear water, the view is outstanding in all directions, it was a very emotional feeling the first nite when we braved the October wind to have a dip before dinner. But if you are from Scotland then it's actually pretty dam warm so no problem at all once you are in. Weather was changeable as it was nearly November but I rekon that it's an all year round swimming spot if you are brave enough. Or have a lil tequila or whisky to warm you up before you go in. So deffo an all year round place to visit. The port And surrounding area with its tavernas and shops is lovely also, There's a few supermarkets and veg, meat and bread shops. Artisan bakeries, and lots of different priced eating options. There lots to see if you drive or cycle round the island like an ancient olive press, temple of Poseidon, a brilliant if a little scary walk round the rocky coast to the lighthouse, and there's also an amazingly clear and beautiful cove where there are ruins of the Russian navel fleets stores and old bake houses from the 19th century. If you are lucky enough you may get to see some of the grounds and other buildings on Dimitris estate along with some amazing stories about his family and the...
We can't believe how lucky we were, finding this gem. The house is on a vast estate, a few stairs away from a private beach. The house had all we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Mr Dimitris was away when we arrived, but Toni, who takes care of the house and garden was there to make sure everything was there. We came without knowing what to expect, and we didn't want to leave for excursions or sightseeing, as the place and the beach were a real dream. Thank you Dimitris, Pavlos and Toni for a great time in a Poros paradise
WOW. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!! We have been renting homes around Greece for our summer vacations for the past several years and it is the first time, all 3 members of our family (plus the newest one, our 6 month old dog, LILOU) had the time of our lives. The house is located inside a vast estate, full of lifelong pine (among others) trees, that reach up to the edge of the land and right on the beach . Which is private!!! We could swim anytime of the day and we could always find our spot and our sunbeds waiting for us, right next to the crystal clear emerald waters. There is an imposing 2storey century old house on one side of the estate where the owner, Mr.Dimitris and his family reside, however they are always very discrete and minimum contact is made. Now, about the lovely house… It offers everything you should need and more, with 2 terraces (front and back), fully equipped kitchen with ceramic hob and oven, large refrigerator, A/C, WiFi. Also, linen and towels – for bath and swimming – are provided. Many thanks to Mr.Dimitris, Mr.Pavlos and Toni for all the help and attention they provided. You definitely made us love your island…
