I live on the 3rd floor of the building, so I’m around for emergencies, and if you arrive late night, it will be me who receives you. Other than that, my staff downstairs at Boveda 7 days a week, 10am – 6pm can help with concierge services and recommendations, so you are not abandoned.

Old San Juan is a world heritage site, built 3-500 yrs ago by the conquistadors. Our building is an Institute approved restoration. Please note that utilitiy services throughout Puero Rico are somewhat feeble.
It is not uncommon for powewr or water to go out without notice. We have a cistern on the roof which will provide water for the building for several days if everyone's careful. There is no remedy however for power failure. We cannot be responsible for loss of city services.
This is a small private building with excellent security.
If you are here visiting friends or family, of course they are weclome, but no "new friends" please, and no one other than registered gusts may stay overnight.
I never liked cold weather, and when I came to Puerto Rico in February of 1968, from New York, I got off the plane, those balmy tropical breezes hit me and I said "this is the way to live". I traveled around the Caribbean a bit, but Old San Juan, with its cobblestone streets and 500 yr old buildings, just dripping with charm, "got" me, and I became what we call here, a shipwreck case, (those who came for the weekend and never left).
I started making jewelry out of shells and whatever, and eventually found myself with a "real" business, selling crafts from around the world and jewelry I make from inspiration and components I've found on my travels.
I have a fascination with the ancient and hand crafted, and over the years have visited most of the Latin American as well as American Indian architectural sites and European pre historic Dolmens and yurtas.
I still go to more civilized places for trade shows, in Paris, Milan and the US, but I've stayed in every imaginable accommodation from tree hotels in the Amazon and cave hotels in Cappadocia, to salmon farms in Iceland and palaces in Portugal; even the world's worst hotel in Marrakesh, where absolutely nothing worked - but what a view!
So when I started renting the apartments on the second floor as short term rentals, I had a pretty good idea of how to furnish and equip them from my own experience of what I would want if I were staying there.
I've lived in Old san Juan for over 30 years. My business is on the first floor of the building, and I live on the 3rd floor over the rental properties.
