My cosy home has got it all. Simply decorated with many authentic details that highlight it's origin as a home for skippers. With its 100 square meters it is quite a lot bigger than its siblings, the equally charming traditional fishermen homes. The house is just 5-10 min. walking from the lively beaches of Scheveningen, and 20 min. by tram to Den Haag Central Station (train).
The first floor consists of a large living room, a cosy and comfy kitchen with some seating space, and a small but comfortable bathroom. Outside is a patio with it's direction to the South, meaning plenty of sun! The patio also provides stairs to the second terrace. The second floor consists of two spaces, one a closed bedroom, the other an semi-open room used as a second bedroom. Please note that the stairs to the second floor are quite steep, charming and characteristic for these kind of houses but not suitable for people that are less mobile. However easy enough for children if you make them aware.
There is a good collection of English and Dutch books in the living room, a good table for dinners or work, and cable TV to unwind on the large couch after a day at the beach! A large refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher two barbecues are also at your disposal.

The house is adjacent to the playground of the French school Lycée Vincent van Gogh next door. Therefore you will hear plenty of French accents! The outside terrace on the first floor overlooks the playground of the French Lycée, which gets lively during playtime on weekdays, and provides an unobstructed view and silence in the weekends.
Kindly be aware that guests are responsible for garbage disposal. At the end of the street you can find underground garbage containers. You can put your garbage in the containers 24/7.
Please behave like you would in the house of your good friends, and treat it with respect. Also, please mind the neighbours, which means to keep the volume down after 10PM, no parties and no drugs or excessive alcohol. Kindly smoke outside, or next to the door with the kitchen or patio door open when raining. No smoking upstairs.
Welcome on my profile! My name is Dolf van Muijen. I work in the humanitarian field, in the Netherlands and abroad. I love adventurous traveling, exploring new places, learning languages and sports. Often I am somewhere close to sea, surfing as much as possible and enjoying the beach life. Make sure you experience a beach party when visiting my place in spring or summer. Or organise a BBQ in the patio yourself!
