Airy comfy 3 bed family home with landscaped garden, terrace and trampoline, a sunny balcony and remarkable views over London. Our leafy suburb is ideally located for transport to central London in 20 minutes, but with exceptional amenities locally.
Our house is sunny and stylish with stunning views of London, located in the leafy suburb of Honor Oak, bordering trendy East Dulwich in South East London. The house 8 minutes walk from Honor Oak Park station, up on the prettiest hill in South London, with staggering views from our home to all the great London landmarks and yet only about a half hour's commute from all the tourist high spots of central London. The house was built in the early 1930s, the end of a small terrace of four houses, and has that lovely mixture of wide rooms with large windows, flooding the house with light, and cosy, comfortable detail, typical of houses of this period. We are at the end of the little terrace built into the hillside. Our quiet neighbourly street is architecturally mixed, some houses on the other side of the road are large Victorian semi-detached houses. Because of the slope of the hill there are steps down to our front door, and I'm afraid the house is not fully accessible. The ground floor becomes the first floor at the back of the building. You walk down stone steps to our 90 foot landscaped garden, which has a terrace at the top, perfect for al fresco dining and BBQs, a lawned central area with flower borders and a clematis and wisteria covered pergola, and a wilder lower garden with a trampoline at the end. There is a garden toilet that is very cute and convenient. The dining room opens up its glass doors onto a sunny stone balcony above the garden. It's a total sun trap in the summer, ideal for a glass of chilled white wine at the end of a busy day of sight-seeing, overlooking the pretty garden, and on to the panorama of London to the horizon. There are three bedrooms that can sleep seven in all and all our beds are very comfortable with top quality linens and duvets. Towels are fluffy, pillows are new. The largest bedroom has a double bed and a single sofa bed in it, comfortably sleeping three. There's a large antique desk in the bow window to the street side, a Yamaha electronic piano and ample built-in storage. The second bedroom has a king size brass bed in it and is romantic and pretty with staggering views over the garden to the panorama of London. The smallest bedroom has a very comfortable sofa bed in it, the mattress enhanced by a luxurious topper, that sleeps two. It is a reading retreat, when not in use as a spare room, and is very calm and peaceful. There is hanging space in here for your clothes too. The family bathroom has a large bath and separate shower cubicle with good pressure and endless hot water. There is a separate toilet and both rooms have the London views. Toiletries and hand soap are by L'Occitane. The wooden floors of the stairs and landing are painted white, the bedrooms are carpeted with a neutral berber. The ground floor has stripped wooden floors through out, and the house is decorated with paintings, prints and our collection of ceramics by the potter Chris Keenan. You will find a study/cloak room to one side of the entrance hall, and a relaxed sitting room to the other. Here you will find a large squashy white sofa, an open fire, window seats, simple classic armchairs, and a wide screen tv, with xbox, Blue Ray and AV equipment. There's also a brilliant sliding bookcase wall that means you can have the space to the dining room open plan and convivial or cosily closed off. The kitchen is open to the dining room and is very well equipped, with a vintage feel in duck egg blue and a black and white ceramic tiled floor. Downstairs in the cellar, which is on the garden level at the back of the house, is the utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and large freezer. Also lots of extra storage. My husband's workshop is down here too and also the drum room where my son plays his instruments and records his music.

Strictly no parties, no smoking anywhere in the house, no dogs upstairs or on the furniture. We really hope you have a lovely relaxing time. Simply look after our property with the respect you would expect us to treat yours.
Nick and I are self-employed and live very happily in South East London with our teenage son. Our greatest pleasure and relaxation comes from walking in the Lake District. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to purchase The Place,Loweswater at the end of 2014 and have renovated it with great love and respect. It is our dream come true and we are genuinely delighted to share its profound calm with other guests who we know will love it too.
We love our London base too! Perched on the hill in the leafy suburb of Honor Oak, surrounded by green spaces, 8 minutes walk to Honor Oak station (12 minute journey into Zone 1!) and with the most sensational panoramic views of London, we have the best of both worlds. We are delighted to share it with Air BnB fans like us and pride ourselves on providing a very high level of comfort and convenience for our guests.
