Enjoy the city from your private room in a gorgeous Victorian flat, located in Edinburgh's historic New Town. The entire flat has original wood floors, sash windows, and tall ceilings. It's bright, well-decorated, and full of original character.
The York tram station (to the airport) is five minute walk, Waverly is fifteen, and there are loads of busses (day and night) a stone's throw away.
Full use of the kitchen, bathroom, washing machine, and our super-fast internet. Make yourself at home!
The room is a large Victorian room overlooking East London Street with fantastic views of Edinburgh's gorgeous sunsets. Your room includes a desk, USB chargers, a plug converter, an iPad to watch Netflix, and an empty dresser for your clothing or other items.
Our flat is in a 140 year-old Victorian tenement and is full of character like original hardwood floors and huge windows, but is fitted with all the modern amenities like fast wi-fi, toasty central heating, and a full kitchen including a gas hob, electric oven, clothes washer, and dishwasher.
There is a dining room table you can feel free to work from or eat at, and you can come and go as you please--we provide several sets of keys when there are two guests.
The room faces a residential, cobblestone street and gets great views of Edinburgh's beautiful sunsets. The street is quiet but if you want extra insulation from any road noise or sun there are functional Victorian shutters that work a charm!
Zugang für Gäste
You can access the entire flat except our bedroom. Feel free to lounge in the sitting room, the kitchen, or your bedroom.
Interaktion mit Gästen
We both work from home so are often at the flat, working. We are frequent travellers ourselves and know sometimes it's fun to chat, so as long as we aren't busy with work we're happy to hang out. Of course sometimes you're busy and want privacy–that's fine too!
Feel free to chat with us as much or little as you like :-)
Weitere wichtige Infos
We offer a basic breakfast of scones, cereals, and oatmeal, along with tea/coffee. Most guests go out for breakfast, so we can't stock a lot of perishable items without food going bad. If you'd really like something, please feel free to ask!
No guests other than those listed on the reservation; please don't bring anyone who we haven't met back to the flat unless we are home.
Please don't use the espresso machine unless you have experience with it. (But we will make you a coffee if we're around!)
Please don't use the record player; it's very fragile and was an expensive gift. :-)
Do not leave the fireplace on if you are not in the sitting room.

I am something of a vagabond.
I've been to over 50 different countries—some I've loved, some I've hated, but all of which have changed me in some way.
I have lived in Argentina, Canada, Thailand, Mexico, Spain, Colombia, the Netherlands, England, and Scotland for periods ranging from two months to five years. I'm British and Canadian but I sound like a foreigner everywhere.
I've been very involved in both CouchSurfing and Airbnb, both as a host and as a guest, and now I'm looking to do some hosting of my own!
I owned a freelance business for many years, and now I work for Automattic, the company behind WordPress. With a good internet connection and a comfy place to work, I can keep myself in wine and chocolate from anywhere in the world. I'm aware that I'm quite lucky.
I like graphic design, books, and high-heeled shoes.
