First and foremost, the guest has not accurately represented the room availability at my condo. Just like a hotel, various sized accommodations are accompanied by varying rates. I have three listings- for a one bedroom, a two bedroom and a three bedroom. Anyone that books any of them, has the entire REST of the condo to themselves. They do not share. This guest specifically selected the two bedroom option, and when I inquired if he wanted to rent three or two bedrooms, his reply was only two. At the time, the only bedroom that can be locked off is the largest one. Again, just like hotels- you can get standard rooms at one rate and larger rooms at other rates. I did not try to charge him more "after' he booked, but simply inquired whether he wanted all 3 bedrooms, and explained the already publicly displayed rate for 3 bedroom rental. The locked off room, in no way interferes with the ability or access to ALL of the amenities described. Guests are not made to share with any other guests, nor would any other person who rented any of the bedrooms (one or two). Despite the listing expressly indicating there is no hair dryer, I was asked for one. Despite the listing expressly saying there was no washer or dryer available- I offered and allowed them to use it. Despite the listing clearly stating the check out time, the guest was not prepared to depart. I gave him some additional time, so as not to delay the cleaning scheduled at specific appointment time to ensure ready for any arriving guests. Concerning the opinion the place is old and everything in it is as well- well my photos reflect accurately the upgraded kitchen and counters, and bathroom. As far as the appliances go- they are all matching in black stainless steel- apparently not this guests personal preference. All work without any issues. The listing indicates this is my home- photos are present. Not sure how those would detract from the enjoyment of the condo, but guess guests could simply tip them down so as not to see them?. I have never had anyone complain about having too many towels, There are ones for bathing, different ones for the kitchen, hand towels for half bath so as not to have to share one between all guests and other ones for pool/ beach. I do not know about anyone reading this, but some people do not like to use the same bath towel all week, or the beach/ pool one for regular bathing. Again, not sure how this would detract from a visit. With respect to bath gels, there is a basket because sometimes people forget their own, and rather than prompt them to have to run out and buy it, there is an assortment on hand- Gels seem more hygienic than sharing soap. Being a beach town, many people love the foot gels/scrub to use after beach. no need to comment negatively just because a person doesn't like or use such amenities. Overall, I think this person would be better off staying at a hotel so they can receive that 24-hour concierge services, or have amenities that appear "brand new"- It almost appears that this guest arrived with a notion that they were the first one to rent the place, and the amenities would be such that they have never used before. I think the other reviews are more telling of home comfortable my condo is and hope you will give it a chance. San Diego is a very laid back town and my rental is intended to be simply and such that guests can explore while having a comfortable, clean location at end a great day.
