Experience an authentic New Orleans visit in a charming 1890's home in a comfortable and convenient location.

With a separate entrance, visitors can come and go with ease while enjoying the many amenities of this private and comfortable suite. For extended stays, of two weeks or more, Cowden's include washer/dryer and kitchen privileges. And during the summer hours enjoy a dip in the Endless Pool or just relax poolside with your favorite beverage.

Located in the Riverbend neighborhood, there is an excellent assortment of restaurants, shops, bars and coffee houses within walking distance (2 blocks or less). In a safe and quiet neighborhood, Cowden's offers a retreat from the fun and busyness of the French Quarter or other tourists areas. Yet there is so much to do Uptown, including the nearby Audubon Zoo and Park, you may decide to spend a day enjoying the live oak trees and the true spirit of NOLA. Cowden's host has lived in New Orleans for 23 years and is ready to help you plan the perfect visit.

The Riverbend section of New Orleans, also referred to as Carrollton, is a historic mixed residential/commercial neighborhood, with urban advantages where the trees are taller than most of the buildings. The neighborhood has many small business including dress shops, a book store and great cafe and restaurants. The food and shopping make it an attractive place for visitors to spend half a day in between streetcar tours or time doing a whole lot of nothing.

Five blocks from the St. Charles Avenue and Carrollton Avenue street car lines, this Uptown charmer is conveniently located yet just far enough from the high spirits of the city to enjoy the tranquility that New Orleans and this charming neighborhood offers.

There is a cat in the house but she is not allowed in your suite and there are chickens in the yard which you might find entertaining. No roosters!

Welcome. New Orleans is a great city where you can run nonstop with an almost unlimited number of bars, music venues and of course great restaurants or just chill with the sultry summertime vibe which seems to hang in the air all year long. I love to travel and experience different cultures and New Orleans is certainly different than any city in the US that I have visited. It's my home now for 23 years and I will never tire of admiring the houses and architecture, the live oaks, gardens, and the sense of community that is unique here. My favorite things include digging in the dirt, traveling, kayaking and reading an intriguing book. Right now I am reading Just Kids by Patti Smith - her story about coming of age with Robert Mapplethorpe. I've just returned from Morocco, one of my favorite countries, and will tell you some stories about the trip and the fabulous country when you come visit me in my 1890's Shotgun. My first language is English but if you speak French or Spanish we can manage as I know enough to get by. Be well and happy travels.
