Our cabin is just outside Sisters Oregon, nestled on 40 acres with ponderosa pine and federal land just out our back gate. The city of Sisters has fabulous restaurants, great music, and the surrounding area is full of trails, lakes, wildlife, and serenity. Our cabin is great for families and those who are looking for a quiet and serene respite. DCAA#1219.
The cabin in the woods is on our 40 acre ranch. It is located 3.5 miles down gravel and dirt road and feels very remote, but is only a 10-12 minute drive to town. Please note that gravel can be bumpy and dusty, and our property is in a community of large acreage homes and ranches. This is not the property for you if you want to be walking distance to town (unless you are up for a hike!), this is remote, with easy access to town. Out the back door of the cabin is what was used as the arena for horses. Ultimately, this will be converted to a lake!
Our cabin is a very comfortable, cozy space. The dining area accommodates 4 currently. The kitchen is stocked with a full selection of cooking pots and pans and utensils. There is a blender, a toaster, a full sized stove/oven (electric) and a full size refrigerator freezer with ice maker.
There is no cable but there is a TV with a selection of DVDs and a bookshelf with an interesting assortment of novels, books and games.
Due to our remote location, we have a satellite and a bandwidth cap, so we ask that you do not stream high bandwidth on your devices (like Netflix).
There is no telephone.
While the cabin sleeps up to 11 in beds, it is most comfortable for 5 or 6, so as not to double up in the queens or the pull out bed. There is a loft in the master bedroom with a large ladder for access. There are sleeping bags and sleeping pads in the cabinet in the laundry room if anyone is inclined to sleep up there!
There is one full bath.
There are no wardrobes in the bedrooms, but clothing can be hung in the closet under the stairs.
The kitchen table would make a good work space as there are plugs at table height for devices.
We provide local tea, an assortment of coffee, olive oil, spices, sugar, 1/2 1/2 packets, and sweet treats. We've tried to stock it with whatever you might need.

You will have full access to the entire cabin, accept for the garage. This includes the full laundry, feel free to use the soap and laundry amenities. We do have wifi, however, because of our remote area it is accessed via satellite. As such, we have a bandwidth cap and we ask that guests do not stream video or use other large bandwidth wifi activities. There is a BBQ on the back deck.
There is a basketball hoop on the side of the house, a hammock in the trees, and lounge chairs on the grass among the pines.
Across the arena, out the back door are our upper 30 acres. We made a trail along the fence lines and it is beautiful to walk. The pasture that runs next to the road has two sweet mini horses and two somewhat stand offish donkeys that live next door and they will come to the fence to greet you. Out our back gate facing the Three Sisters (please close it behind you), there are miles and miles of trails. We like to take a right out the gate until we get to Pole Creek ditch which is a beautiful little offshoot of Pole Creek, and hike up the creek. This way, if you follow the creek, you can't get lost! There are a series of waterfalls if you hike up a ways.

We live on the property, so we can be available to answer questions or assist while you are staying at the cabin. You will probably see Bill mowing or splitting wood or watering if it is the summer season. We have a brown lab named Lucy and a French bulldog named Petal. Lucy is great with humans and other dogs. Petal is great with humans, but is socially inept with other dogs, so we keep her at the house when our guests have dogs.
Weitere wichtige Infos
Our road is a gravel road (about 3.5 miles) which gives access to a beautiful part of Sisters country nestled among large Ponderosa Pine trees. We regularly see deer, bunnies, multiple squirrel varieties, doves and quail. We are about 10-12 minutes from downtown Sisters. Please note, this is a remote property on a gravel road. Your car will get dusty if it is the dry season, and there may be snow and ice in the winter, so you should be prepared. If we get a lot of snow, it can take us a bit to get things plowed. If remote serenity is not your cup of tea, this may not be a good fit!

We love living in Sisters, love our property, and now we love sharing it with our guests. Bill ran a whitewater rafting company for years, then we ran it together. It was called The Electric Rafting Company, because the guests would be so 'shocked' at what a great time they'd have. You may just be invited to a campfire with Bill on the guitar! We built inflatable boats for years in Northern California before migrating north.
