This beautiful turn-of-the-century Parisian appartment is around 64m2, is East/West facing, and with its many windows and high celings is very light and airy.
It’s the home of a Parisian photographer and his family and consists of a large bright open living space with a fully equipped rustic kitchen and lounge/dining space, a lovely double bedroom with comfortable kingsize bed and a baby/child room.
There is also a sofa-bed so it can comfortably house up to 5 people.
The lounge/kitchen looks out onto the stunning rue Lepic (it’s right next to the building where Van Gogh painted his view from this road) and the main bedroom looks out onto a pretty and peaceful garden.
Situated on the second floor (no lift), the fully-furnished interior delicately mixes the old and the new : original fireplaces, wooden beams, parquet, old tiles and an old bath tub meet modern kitchen equipment, furniture and a Starck toilet !
In the heart of the vibrant and artsy village of Montmartre (the 18th arrondissement), the appartment is on the famous rue Lepic, a road well-known for its fresh-food markets (fantastic fish, meats, cheese, flowers….), for Amelie’s café, le moulin de la galette and for housing Vincent Van Gogh. It’s also opposite the loft of Toulouse Letrec and Picasso’s atelier is a 5 minute walk so you are right in the heart of one of the most creative parts of Paris.
Five to ten minutes walk up the hill and you arive at the top of the historic hill : the Sacre Cœur with its views of Paris, the St Pierre church (surprisingly the oldest church in Paris), la place de Tertre (famous for its painters), and the vinyards of Montmartre.
Walk down the hill for two minutes and you arrive at the trendy rue des Abbesses where you will find an abundance of typical french cafés and bars, chic shops with up-and coming designers and a multitude of restaurants from around the world (Tibetan, Vietnamese, Japanese, North-African, African, Chillean, Italian…and of course French !).
A further 5 minute stroll down the rue Lepic leads to the must-see Moulin Rouge and colourful Pigalle, known for its dark night-life and saucy sex-shops.
Gare du Nord (for the Eurostar) is only 10 mins by taxi (or 20 minute walk).
Airport Charles de Gaulle is approximately a 30 mins taxi journey, Orly is 45 minutes (depending on traffic).
Metro : Blanche, Abbesses, Place de Clichy.
Car-parking at la Place de Clichy, 8 minutes away and occasional free road-side space is available for parking.
Buses to Paris and up the hill to the village.
