My place is close to public transport, the city center, and the airport. You'll love my place because of the ambiance, the people and the charm. You'll also be blown away by the convenient location which is close to everything but far enough away that you can relax. My place is good for couples, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).

Zugang für Gäste

The current listing gives access to the entire home. There are three bedrooms (although there is only a bed in the master bedroom; there are air matreses available), a finished basement with workout equipment, a parking pad in the rear, ample street parking in the front, and the street is very quiet.

John is a very nice, friendly and welcoming person. His house is beautiful, clean and in a quiet neighbourhood. There is also a metro station quite close to the house. We really enjoyed our stay!

I travel with a dog. This neighborhood is well lit at night so our 10pm potty trips were safe and easy. There are two steps to access the home from the street, and the room is upstairs. The room has plenty of space to maneuver and the shower is a good size as well. If you are traveling to the Mall the drive is very straightforward and takes about 14 minutes in weekend traffic. John is friendly and very quick to answer questions.

Great room and generous host. John went out of his way to make sure our trip was easy and safe. He graciously waited for me even when my plane was delayed twice. Easy walk to the metro but a bit of hill coming back so John offered to pick us up with our bags. Clean modern bathroom and bedroom in a lovely historic home away from the bustle of the city.

We had a great stay with John. We flew in very late to DC and John stayed up late to greet us and help us get settled into the house. He provided great hospitality and made us feel at home. We arnt accustomed to the warm weather so John installed an air conditioner in our window when we were out one day. It was great. We rented a car but used the Metro most days. It was a pleasant and short walk to the Naylor Road Metro station, less than half a mile. We even walked back at night a few times and did not feel unsafe in his neighborhood. The house was great. I'm guessing a pre WWII with hardwood floors that pleasantly creak and glass door nobs. We had full use of the kitchen. The bedroom had an attached master bath with nice modern fixtures. We came with our 6 month old daughter and John took the time to place covers on the power outlets. Overall it was a beautiful home and John was an awesome host.

My girlfriend and I stayed at John's place for three nights and we had a wonderful time! The room was very cosy, spacious and clean, without doubt the best airbnb room we've ever stayed at. It had everything that we needed including private bathroom, which was great! And our host John - where to begin.. He was very welcoming and nice, he tried his best to make our stay in his house wonderful and we are very thankful for that! He even went out to buy a luggage scale for us to measure the weight of our suitcases.. great guy! Neighborhood was quiet and nice, but it was just a couple of minutes from DC, and there was a train station within the walking distance! If we ever come back to DC, we'll know where to stay! I would recommend John's place to everyone!

It’s a pleasure to meet you, if only virtually for now.

I’m a native of Washington, DC. I’m a scientific researcher and reformed academic. I served eight years as an U.S. Army officer, paratrooper and psychologist (I bet you’d have never put those together;-) having proudly served in the 82nd Airborne and a deployment to Mogadishu, Somali. I also taught behavior science for the Family Practice Residency for Martin Army Community Hospital.

After leaving the military I went to the University of Pittsburgh for my doctorate, later teaching psychological micro-theory at Wayne State University. I moved back to D.C. to take care of my aging parents-a duty that can’t be shared because I’m an only child.

These days I work for the Social Security Administration conducting studies on psychological influences of financial literacy and retirement security.

Cheers,
John
