Our townhouse is named "A Step Away" because it offers a downtown location along with a back yard, a deck, two levels of living space, and it's dog friendly. This professionally decorated and seasonally refreshed 2 bedroom and 1.5 bath (the baths have were completely remodeled in 2017) home is neatly located behind our lifestyle mercantile shop where all guests receive a special discount at our store during their stay. This townhouse style home is just "A Step Away" from downtown Saugatuck. It's a couple hundred feet from the marina on the Kalamazoo River. The townhouse has been professionally decorated (and we try to change-up some of the decor so that it matches the season) and offers great interior spaces and amenities and we're always updating our home. The townhouse is large enough so that you can share the home with up to seven people (and a dog) but also find a space to call your own. Step outdoors and enjoy the exclusive use back yard and maybe an alfresco dinner on your deck area. Relax, it's Saugatuck.

The townhouse is fully self-contained and has a private entrance. The home is part of an antique colonial structure that also includes our home furnishings store: The store (see photos) is located at street level at the front of the first floor only and the townhouse is at the rear of the first floor and the townhouse is also on the entire second floor (that's why we call it a townhouse). The home offers a level back yard (with a grill) and a rear/side deck area (with plenty of patio furniture). Guests of our townhouse have access and exclusive use of our back yard and you'll have your own deck area right outside the great room*. Guests staying at "A Step Away" are near all that Saugatuck has to offer.
Guests at our townhouse can stop into our store if we're there and ask us for suggestions about the town's attractions, restaurants, and shopping (we call it "lite" concierge services) or maybe shop at our store and enjoy a guest-only special discount.
*We might need to tend to landscaping/lawn/watering and use the shed out back but this won't be done too early or too late in the day.

DirectTV "select" is available in the great room. The second floor twin bedroom offers a TV with DVD player (non-satellite).
The kitchen is part of the great room (living/dining/kitchen). The cabinets are stocked with plenty of tableware, glassware, plasticware, cookware, a blender, mixers, crockpots, microwave oven, toaster oven, four burner cooktop stove (without regular sized oven), dishwasher, ice maker built-into refrigerator, keurig coffee maker, cooking utensils, barware, and more...
Fees/taxes (if applicable) added to base rate are detailed below:
Dogs are considered and there is $100 per stay fee, if approved. The pet fee will be allocated over the number of nights reserved (i.e. $100 per stay over 4 nights equals $25 per night added to the base nightly rate). Note: If you reserve by "Instant Book" this pet fee will not be included in the "Instant Book" rate (an Airbnb limitation, for now) and will require the host to adjust the reservation's cost (for the pet fee) after you receive the initial confirmation. The cleaning fee is $100 per stay. The fee will be allocated over the number of nights reserved (i.e. $100 per stay over 4 nights equals $25 per night added to the base nightly rate).
Michigan and local law requires the host to collect an 6% sales/use tax on the base rate plus any additional fees (cleaning, dog, extra person(s) fees). Airbnb will withhold these taxes and remit the sales taxes to the State of Michigan.
Primary renters must be 25 years of age or older.
Please take all garbage and recycling out to the trash can located in the back yard.
The townhouse offers forced hot air heat and central air conditioning which is controllable from within the townhouse. There are floor/table fans as well as a supplemental window air conditioner. What's more, the electric heating fireplace in the living room adds ambiance and optional warmth. Be comfortable and at home at "A Step Away."
Please leave all dirty towels in the bathroom on the floor or in the hamper near washer/dryer. Leave dirty linens on unmade bed(s) or place in them in the hamper near the washer/dryer.
Please place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run the dishwasher before departing.
Please turn off all lights and close all windows prior to leaving.
Finally, please lock the digital entry lock when you leave.
