This lovely Victorian house is on the Thames walk, which goes left to the canal and Port Meadow, right to the Folly Bridge and Christchurch Meadow. Ten minutes walk to Oxford city centre. Good for couples, families (with kids), and groups.
Gorgeous Period Home Central Oxford
The house is a beautiful 3-bed, over three floors, with a luxurious bathroom and an ensuite in the loft bedroom/office. There are two working fireplaces (one hosting a wood stove), combi central heating, and a 75ft garden. It is a spacious house, especially for its age and location, with high ceilings and an exceptional loft. The house is suitable for babies (BYO cot), toddlers and children.
There is 1) a master double bedroom, 2) a children's bedroom (with bunk beds), and 3) a comfortable sofabed upstairs in the top floor with ensuite. This means that the house can sleep 6 people comfortably: two sets of adult couples and two kids (or some variation on this).
The house is most suitable for families or two couples, a small group of friends, etc. Please contact us with your specific needs.
The house is very centrally located - a five-minute cycle along the river from Oxford station, and a five-minute walk into town. The river (with swans and ducks) is steps away at the near-end of the road, and glorious countryside walks lead out from the house along the Thames Path and through Grandpont nature reserve. The outdoor heated Hinksey swimming pool is at the far-end of the road, nestled in a park side by side with tennis courts, a children's playground and a lake. Also within 5-minutes cycle, there is an indoor swimming pool with sauna and gym and an adventure playground (the SOAP).
Located on the doorstep of central Oxford, there are numerous cafes, pubs, museums, theatres, shops and libraries are all within walking distance, as well as the university colleges. The beautiful Christchurch Meadow and Cherwell-Thames confluence are just across the main road. There is a cafe serving lunch and dinner two doors down from the house.
The cost includes bills for water, gas, electricity, and high-speed internet as well as the use of amenities in the house. For guests staying longer term, a weekly clean is included for free in the price.
Please note: this house does not have a television. Movies, BBC iplayer and other online channel services can be viewed on laptops, hooked up to a projector with screen for home theatre (if you wish). The house does not have a TV licence.
