The scenery is gorgeous, the property is secluded but well equipped, the cabin was cozy and my dog loved being there with us and so did my toddler. 10/10 would stay again and would recommend others do the same.

Just perfect. Rustic, quiet and peaceful. The cabins are located on a hill and a little bit of a steep walk so if you are elderly or have trouble walking, you may want to stay in one of the cottages. Just a tid bit of information to consider. They were just perfect. We had so much fun and made tons of memories. Can't wait to come back.

Buffalo Gap has lots of charm (and nostalgia for anyone who's ever been to camp). It was great for a big group - we loved the big table in the kitchen for group meals and hanging out. Great times hanging out by the lake, and at the campfire too. Real bathrooms and stall showers will be a big improvement.

We rented the attached mini cabins (1 and 2). My father had one and my kids and I had the other. The location is very rural and the area is beautiful. My father arrived early and Vince greeted him and showed him around. My children had an amazing time at the lake and were able to have a lot of freedoms they wouldn't be able to anywhere else. The lake was definitely a unique and positive experience for them. Some things to consider... Other Guests-There are positives and negatives to the freedoms guests are allowed. My family is very respectful and would make an effort to get along with anyone. Because of the shared spaces, you have to hope whoever the other guests are that they have the same philosophy. Vince was often present and the other guests were nice but that didn't stop a number of them from leaving dozens of beer bottles, metal caps and cigarette buts all over the beach, lake and picnic tables. If we would have needed an issue addressed, Vince made it clear we could contact him at anytime. We didn't have to but it was good to know. Temperature- Before going, I read reviews and everyone seemed to agree that although there was no ac, the nights were cool enough to be comfortable. Maybe we were there on a particularly hot day but not one of us (kids included) was able to fall asleep before we got rain and things started to cool down (around 1 am). If you don't do well in the heat, consider bringing an extra fan or booking on a cooler weekend. Wasps- Both cabins had dozen of wasps flying around when we arrived. There are many cans of bug spray in the cabins and we were able to kill most of them (but then you have to live with the strong smell of the spray). There were two active wasp nests in cabin 2. Even if you are meticulous about keeping the doors closed, the windows have gaps around them, so it's an easy in for any bug. I know that whenever you spend time outdoors, you risk getting stung (I've been stung a few times in my tent) but it's something to keep in mind. Kitchen- We didn't cook in the kitchen but it was well stocked and seemed to have anything you'd need (appliance and pots n' pans wise) to prepare a large meal. The fridges were spacious and the space was very clean. Bathrooms- There is a bathroom trailer. It was very clean and there was no issue with odors. Stocked with soap and hot water for hand washing! Showers- The shower trailer has 4 shower heads in one open space on each side (one side for men and one side for women). If you aren't comfortable showering in the nude with others, bring a bathing suit. If not more than two people (men and/or women) are showering at a time, the water pressure is...

Vincent is a very personable and welcoming host. Will definitely come back to Buffalo Gap again! Bathroom trailer was a little icky, I'm hoping the cheaper cabins or at least the community kitchen cabin gets a functioning toilet soon.

You rock my brother -- and yes, the bathroom trailer is a big work in progress and a big step up form the porta-potty earlier in the year and in 2016. Spring 2018, septic and bathrooms in all cabins! thanks and hope to see you all again soon!
