Marci was absolutely wonderful! Extremely hospitable and responsive. The place was clean, beds were comfortable and exactly as pictured online. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area to visit. Thanks for a great time, Marci!

Naomi's inn is a lovely remodeled Victorian home in a quite neighborhood of Springfield. While it maintains it's early 19th century charm, all the plumbing is modern and well-maintained. The room we were in was very comfotable and quiet. The best part of our stay was the early m…

The B&B was such a lovely, charming place to stay.. There was a cute sign hanging in the kitchen area. It was a joke about how "No thieves, fakirs, etc. allowed". When I ask what a fakir was, the host explained it was "someone who misrepresents". She said the spelling was Olde En…

Antwort von Marci:
First off the entire sign is a jest and is 'kindly offensive' to many as it makes lighthearted jokes about many people of all walks of life. For that one specific definition... (URL HIDDEN) : A fakir is a Muslim Sufi holy man or woman who lives on only what he or she gets by begging. OxfordDictionaries: Early 17th century: via French from Arabic faqīr ‘needy man’. UD1: (Hindi/Urdu) Used to denote a poor person in general. UD2: One who Fakes. The other things not allowed... Rogues ( Scoundrel\Deceitful People ), Tinkers (18th Century Inventor\Smith\Utensil makers who often solicit ) so Fakir... fits right at home here... Finally... Flintlocks, Cudgels, Daggers and Swords need to be checked in with the Innkeeper. I guess that happens a lot as well. Right? Let's not forget that its 4 pence to stable a horse... and 1 shilling for a bed? Bad form on you to not understand the origin of these words or what they REALLY means as of the date posted of 1786 then take the first thing you read about it as gospel truth. Secondly, the sign says 1786 and also says no dogs allowed in the kitchen, which we clearly allow. The sign also says "no slap and tickle o' the wenches". Anyone who takes this sign seriously... Obviously we don't like being attacked and we have had plenty of doctors and nurses of Muslim faith(s) stay with us. We are not overly religious people as a whole at the inn, and respect that people may worship whatever deity they choose. It is ridiculous for you or anyone to take offense for a sign representing the state of inns in the late 18th century. Then to speculate about anyone employed at the inns political\racial views is unacceptable and plain unfair. Check-In Process: The inn has 3 floors and there are times where we are doing things like going to the bathroom. When coming from next door the same can be said. It is a big property and we can't always be at the door there is only 1-2 people working at any given time. Not only that but I even mentioned how it was a record time from next door being under 60 seconds... Cleanliness: People sometimes make their own breakfast\coffee in the morning and it was the brimfield fair, that milk was put out at 5:30am... I refill it as it is consumed, I will try to keep a better eye on it... As a whole I am sorry you assume so much... unfortunate insight to the state of being for a lot of people in the world today.

Thank you for a fantastic stay! Your innkeeper was hospitable, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was perfect and the entire atmosphere of the inn was warm and welcoming. If I am ever in Springfield again, you can bet I'll stay at Naomis again.
