Dorothée's apartment is very centrally located, and a short walk gets you to the Jardin Public, the river, Rue Sainte Catherine (for shopping), restaurants and transport links and much more. Bordeaux is a very walkable city!
We did not meet Dorothée personally, but checking in and accessing the apartment was made very easy as communication was Dorothée was always very quick and clear.
The apartment was clean and comfortable, a nice base for exploring Bordeaux. We did not use the kitchen but it is equipped to cook a meal if you want. Also provided is a nice little kit for opening your wine bottles if you want to have a drink in the evening!
A couple of points to note, which are no fault of the host - for a tall guy like myself (6'3" / 190cm), I did need to bend my neck in half of the apartment to avoid hitting my head. Also as it is an attic apartment, it does get quite warm at night, which can be uncomfortable when sleeping. However, a large fan is provided at the foot of the bed.
Overall Dorothée's apartment is great value and I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere central (but still quiet) to stay in Bordeaux.
