Our place is close to countryside. The Wye Valley is a AONB where you can walk, cycle, canoe and explore the many tracks through woodland and farmland. You’ll love it because of the peace and tranquility. A private romantic hideaway where you can cuddle up in front of a roaring woodburning stove to keep away the winter blues. We are within easy reach of Monmouth with it's bijou quirky shops and eateries. The nearest pub is the Mill Race a 40minute walk but not in the dark. Takeaways deliver.

Der Wohnraum

Pat and Richard would like to welcome you to their newly refurbished cider barn. It has one double bed, kitchenette, wet room and lounge with TV. Also we have a woodburning stove as well as radiators. There is a small patio and access to part of the garden. There is ample off road parking, secure bicycle storage. Eggs available from our own hens. Although we own a pet ourselves we have decided not to accept pets as guests. No smoking please. Three nights minimum stay. We are within two miles of Ross-on-Wye. There is fine dining and several pubs within easy reach. There are opportunities for walking, fishing and canoeing in this Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We look forward to meeting you. We own and drive a 1939 MG and would particularly welcome MG drivers and will offer them cash back if they arrive in an MG. In fact being old car people we especially welcome anyone in an old car. Although the wireless WiFi is adequate for email, internet surfing and shopping etc it is not strong enough to stream films. The television does incorporate a DVD player and there is a small selection of DVDs in the Barn. There is also a number of popular boxed games, Scrabble etc.

Zugang für Gäste

Access into Wenslow Barn is via its own door from a lobby which, although shared with the main cottage, is for the sole use of guests during their visit. The lobby can be used for the storage of bicycles, outdoor clothes and walking boots etc.

Interaktion mit Gästen

Richard and Pat will always be available in Wenslow Cottage during lets. We are happy to advise on local amenities or just chat and pass the time of day.

Up a quiet, country lane to find a fresh eggs sign, turn in and find a setting straight out of Darling Buds of May. Idyllically set in a well tended garden and overlooking open fields and woods, Wenslow Barn is a great find and a great place to stay and recharge your batteries. Very well equipped with a comfy bed, all modern conveniences, a splendid wet room well stocked with soft, fluffy towels, an efficient kitchen AND a wood burning stove with unlimited wood. What more could one want for a perfect stay within minutes of Stow on the Would and the beautiful, surrounding countryside. A trip to Weston's Cider Factory is a must. Pat and Richard are consummate hosts and I wish we had had longer to stay. Thanks both for sharing your little bit of heaven with us.

Many thanks to Pat and Richard our stay was fantastic. The cottage was exceptionally clean and very kind of them to provide eggs, milk and other sundries. We had everything we needed. The wet room was brilliant after a long day out. Should we visit the area again we would certainly look at staying at theirs again. Maybe when it's colder so we can take advantage of the wood burner.

Beautiful little home in a very peaceful location. We were looking for a comfortable and quiet base for our trip to the Wye valley for canoeing and walking, and were not disappointed. The cottage was clean, well furnished and well equipped, and Pat and Richard were lovely hosts. Would highly recommend!

If you want to visit this area of outstanding beauty and historical interest do not hesitate. Exemplary design and finish, wonderful patio and garden with chickens and so tranquil. In short, we loved it.

Nutzerprofil von Pat & RichardPat & Richard ist ein Superhost.

Pat likes old things to buy and sell and gardening. Richard, provider, gardener, mechanic with a great love of all things mechanical. Still cherishing and driving my first car 1939 MGTA. Can't live without, quiet, real ale, curry, petrol and things to mend. Ideally we would both travel everywhere on the Queen Mary II if we could.
